steel-toe-boot

You wanted to know how your heart feels, right? There’s someone with a jackhammer cracking your chest open. There’s someone with a smirk on his face and he’s building you another roof for those tears. There’s someone with a hammer and he’s been trying to let you know, these bolts, his lies, they don’t fucking fit. There’s someone with steel toe boots, shit, you have nails everywhere and you’ve forgotten all about it. There’s someone with a pen, but you forgot to let him in. There’s someone opening your diary, you pretend you’re asleep. There’s someone falling in love with you, but you’re noticing the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next. And I’ll let you in on a little secret, each of those people– They were all once you. We’ve been trying to fix ourselves for that long. We’ve been neglecting ourselves for that long. Read that again and read it all as if you were doing the breaking and the fixing and you’ll come to realize the truth. No one gets in or out of your heart unless YOU let them. That is our curse.
