Reading your posts about the comic canon arguments reminded me of my favorite response.

Comic books are a static medium, where characters can have chemistry because the artist writes them to have chemistry.

A live action adaptation requires real people to play those characters. And you can’t force two people to have chemistry, no matter what the source material says.
