Mind Meld

After I watched last night TOS, I had a thought.

What if Spock meldet with Jim in his last moments?
We know from TOS that Spock is able to meld with minds through doors and without real contact.

Jim looked so full of fear of being alone as he died, and told Spock about this feelings. So what when Spock did meld with him, through the glass, so Jim didn’t need to fear being lonely in his death anymore.

And as if it wouldn’t be already so hard to lose what felt like the best friend Spock never has before. Spock could as soon, as he was inside of Jim’s mind, feel whose deep love for himself. As Jim also began to realize Spock is inside his mind, he thinks - do you now understand - while looking into Spock’s watery eyes. It’s the moment when Jim finally can let go.
Because he couldn’t die when Spock just thought Jim would risk everything he loved, just for his friend, when he did risk everything for the man he loved with his whole being!

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) dir. J.J.Abrams (2/3

“There will always be those who mean to do us harm. To stop them, we risk awakening the same evil within ourselves. Our first instinct is to seek revenge when those we love are taken from us. But that’s not who we are… When Christopher Pike first gave me his ship, he had me recite the Captain’s Oath. Words I didn’t appreciate at the time. But now I see them as a call for us to remember who we once were and who we must be again.”
