Maya had not seen Riley since the night of Zay’s party.

That was not by coincidence; it was Maya’s own doing. She dodged all of Riley’s calls, Lucas’ “what’s wrong?” texts—she still saw him, just avoided him in class—and kept to herself for the majority of the week. She knew Riley’s schedule, she knew when she’d be home, and Maya made sure to be far out the door before then. At night, she wouldn’t come home. She’d end up curled next to Zay before she could ever sleep in her own sheets again.

yo yo yo. i am also consistently upset about the lack of zaya fic. but!!!! startoftime by zaybabinaeux (i think) is lucaya with a lot of quality zaya. it's the closest i've gotten to well-written zaya.

im reading that fic rn! and yas KNOWS how much i ove it, but I would really love for some more zaya fic to be written

It was a Tuesday night when it happened.

Riley had raved about Tuesday’s, ever since the day she met Lucas. He was the one for her, she said. And she was on the phone with Lucas, who was supposedly on his way to pick them up. Maya watched as Riley’s eyebrows furrowed into a deep line of concern, a look Maya hardly saw on the face of the brunette. She felt a prick of anxiety beneath her skin, her heart beginning to race.
