Backstage - Part 1

Prompt: It’s opening night for Hamilton and your life l long friend, Daveed, asked you to come and who are you to refuse. After the show, he takes you backstage and things get… heated ;)

Pairing: Daveed/Lafayette x Reader

A/N: An anon requested a fanfic like this though they asked for NSFW. The intro was a little long though I liked how it turned out so I decided to split this up to two parts in case anyone wanted to read the safe version. Another anon asked for something similar but now quite, so if you would still like a separate fanfiction for just NSFW Lafayette, hit me up again. Besides that, enjoy!

“There she is!” Daveed smiled hugely at you. From where he was, you could tell he was on his bed propped up on his elbow.

I saw this on Reddit, thought it was pretty interesting! They were in the theatre when James Holmes started shooting. A pretty scary vision of what it was like to be there during the shooting. RIP to all of the victims.

“I survived a mass shooting at a movie theater.”

“It was the summer of 2012. My longtime boyfriend and I had recently gotten married. Even though we were dirt poor college students and lived in a dinky apartment, we were having a blast. That particular summer we gathered with our friends at the local movie theater almost every weekend. There was one just down the street from our apartment that had really cheap movie tickets. A night out that was under $10 was certainly within our budget! Anyway, one Thursday night I received a call from this group of friends inviting us to watch the midnight premiere of the newest Batman movie. I had just finished working a 12 hour shift and was pretty tired. I almost refused the invitation and thought of crashing in my apartment instead. However, I didn’t want to miss out on the fun, and it was a movie I’d wanted to see for a while anyway. Certainly it wouldn’t do any harm to stay up later than usual and miss a few hours of sleep, right?

At 10:30 PM we met at the theater. We passed large cardboard cut-outs of Catwoman and Batman as we walked inside, greeted by the smell of buttery popcorn and the chatter of excited movie goers. The ticket booth was to the right of the entrance, and just above that was an electronic list of movies being played. The 12:00 AM showing of the Dark Knight Rises was displayed up there in bright red letters. Being paranoid that the tickets would sell out quickly, one of my friends swung by earlier that day and purchased tickets for all of us. We bypassed the ticket line and went straight to the ticket taker. She smiled at us and kindly directed us to Theater 9, which was on the right side of the lobby.

If only I had known what I do now. That among the crowds a killer was lurking. That as I walked across that tacky red and purple carpet towards Theater 9, I could have been walking to my death. I would have turned around in that instant and gone home. I would never have gone to see the movie at all. But, of course, I had no way of knowing what was about to happen. Oblivious to the peril I was putting myself in; I pushed open the doors for Theater 9 without giving it a second thought.

The hallway in this theater was shaped like a U and you could go either right or left. Theater 9 was the largest screening room in the building, perfect for accommodating the crowds that midnight premieres brought in. The screen was motionless and gray; not even the previews had started yet because there was still a good hour and a half to go until the movie actually started. We entered on the right side, so all of the seats were to our left. I remember being surprised at just how packed the theater already was. Just about every seat was filled, much to our dismay. At first it seemed like we wouldn’t find a spot to sit together. Now, the way this theater was set up, there was a section of seats right in front of the screen. This area was flat, and there were about five rows of seating in this section. A lot of seats in that section were empty, but sitting right in front of the movie screen sucks and none of us wanted to sit there. One of my friends then spotted a row with five empty seats all next to each other, perfect for the amount of people we had. These seats were about 3-4 rows up from where the seating rows start to elevate. We ran up the stairs before someone could take the seats and filed in. My husband, Brock, sat in the 5th seat. I sat next to him, and my friend Samantha sat next to me on my right side. Her boyfriend, Tommy, sat next to her, and another friend named Leo sat in the aisle seat.

We spent the next several minutes casually chatting, joking around, and laughing. After a while my three friends went to the lobby to buy drinks and that addicting movie theater popcorn. While they were gone, Brock and I passed the time by people watching. The theater was bright since the lights weren’t dimmed yet, and I could see everyone clearly. There were a lot of people dressed in Batman T-shirts and hoodies. One person even had a mask and one of those shirts with an attached cape. There were a lot of kids in attendance as well, which wasn’t surprising because, even though it was a Thursday night, it was summer vacation so that meant no school the next day. Of all the people I saw, the person I will never forget was the little girl sitting in our same row a few chairs away. She was really cute, blond with blue eyes, and passed us several times on her way to the lobby, each time coming back with various snacks and popcorn. Overall, people seemed very excited to see the movie, and the room was filled with energy and laughter.

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the lights started to dim and the previews began. Just like every movie I’ve seen before, a quick animation flashed across the screen reminding us to get refreshments from the lobby (we were already devouring that popcorn like ravenous animals), to silence our cell phones, and to make sure we know where the emergency exits are. The animation had this ugly CGI cat in a tuxedo that was sitting in a movie theater. I casually glanced at the bright green emergency exit signs that were on the left and right sides of the movie screen. I didn’t think much of the reminder, like usual. After that, I only remember one preview for the Man of Steel, the others I’m not sure what they were about. When the movie started the theater erupted into cheering and clapping. The title of the movie, The Dark Knight Rises, exploded onto the screen. This was followed by the scene where Bane is hijacking a plane. I thought this scene was pretty cool and it caught my interest right away. Only when the movie started to get a little less interesting did I remember just how tired I was. I decided I would close my eyes at the more boring parts to get a little bit of rest. I had been awake for 20 hours at that point, so I was rightfully sleepy. My eyes were closed for most of the duration of Batman and Catwoman’s encounter. I don’t really remember what was going on in that part of the movie (perhaps some of you have seen it and know what I’m talking about.) Anyway, when I opened my eyes again Bruce Wayne was on his computer digging up information on Catwoman. This is the last scene I saw. I never got to watch the rest of the movie.

All of a sudden, a loud BANG erupted from the left side of the theater. I sort of screamed a little because it startled me. A strange smell started to fill the auditorium. It was like the smell of a firework, so I thought it was a cherry bomb or something similar. Had someone thrown fireworks into the crowd as a prank? Then, down near the right sight of the movie screen, the dark silhouette of a person caught my attention. They were just a black frame against the bright movie screen. A series of flashing lights was coming from this person. It was a weird moment where time literally slowed down and everything went strangely quiet. I was completely frozen, unable to move and really unable to think at all. It was like my brain had stopped working entirely.

Brock caught on immediately to what was happening and he grabbed me. He pulled me to the ground and lay on top of me, shielding me with his own body. At this point time and sound returned to me. I could hear the gunshots ringing out across the theater. People were screaming. The movie was still playing on top of it all, creating a chaotic explosion of sound. I realized the flashing lights I had seen were bullets flying out of a gun barrel. An instant sensation of adrenaline flooded my body. There was absolutely nothing I could do except lay there and hope to God that the bullets I heard ripping through seats and walls wouldn’t go through me, too. At one point shrapnel hit my head, cutting off a good chunk of my hair, and as I reached for the spot to make sure it wasn’t bleeding hot pieces of metal fell into my hand.

I was lying face up, so I could see everything that was happening. The lights from a still-playing movie danced across the ceiling and walls. My friends were on the floor with me. Our unfinished bucket of popcorn was spilled all across the floor. Leo had his legs sticking out into the aisle because there wasn’t enough room for him to hide completely behind the seats. At some point Samantha’s water bottle, which had been in the cup holder between our seats, exploded. Water splashed all over my face. The smell of gun smoke was overwhelming. Riot grade tear gas made me cry and caused me to cough uncontrollably. There was another smell, too; the horrible metallic smell of blood that I’ll never forget. I remember my lower body feeling wet all of a sudden. For some reason I thought this came from the leaking water bottle, but I soon realized this wasn’t the case.

All of a sudden things went strangely quiet. The bullets had stopped for some reason. Tommy shouted “LET’S GET OUT OF HERE!” We took advantage of the opportunity and made a run for it. We ran down the stairs, across the front of the screen towards a bright green EXIT sign. We crammed into a small, closet-like space where the door was. It was so dark we had a hard time finding it. We were screaming and slamming on the walls to find the door, blinded by the tear gas and dumbfounded by shock. Then, finally, my hands felt the metal door handle and I pushed against it with all my strength. The door flew open and the light of a nearby streetlight flooded our eyes. We pushed against the door so hard that we all fell over onto the concrete. Samantha lost her pink flip flops just outside this doorway.

As I scrambled to my feet and literally ran for my life, I realized my legs were red; absolutely soaked with blood. It was like I dipped my legs into a bath tub full of it. I checked my body all over and realized I wasn’t injured at all. Where had this blood come from? I looked behind me and realized that the blood was my husband’s. He had been shot in the leg. A massive, gaping hole had ripped through the lower half of Brock’s right leg. His foot was barely hanging on and dangled lifelessly. Leo and a young man I didn’t recognize were carrying Brock because, after falling outside the door, he lost all his strength and he couldn’t walk. I was completely shocked. I had no idea he had been injured, especially since he was right behind me the whole time and managed to escape the theater all by himself. How he did it on one foot, I’ll never know.

At this point I screamed. My scream was so loud that it alerted nearby construction workers. At the back of the theater there was a narrow parking lot, followed by a grassy lawn and then the street beyond that. The construction workers were doing road repair on this street, but as soon as they heard my scream and saw us running they stopped working and watched what was going on. I’m not sure why this is such a vivid part of my memory. Anyway, they carried Brock along the back sidewalk all the way to the end, where the corner of the building is. This was quite a distance, several dozen feet. My husband then collapsed from exhaustion and pain, saying he couldn’t move anymore. He lay down and a puddle of blood started to form beneath him. I looked back, and realized we had left a trail of blood leading from the door all the way to our current position.

I was trembling. I knelt beside Brock and glanced around to see who else was injured. Tommy had been shot in the knee and the hip, and was further away in the parking lot. The teenager who helped my husband was also injured. His dad and mom were with him; his mom was sitting against the wall and looked like she was going to pass out. She was bleeding from several places. That family escaped at the same time we did. I guess they heard the bullets stop and decided to make a run for it, too. We were all lucky, because the shooting was still going on inside.

I had to take off my shirt and use it to stop the bleeding. I’ll never forget how lifeless and limp his leg felt, and I imagined that’s what a dead body must feel like. I got blood all over my hands and arms. The police showed up really, really fast. I’d say we were only outside for a minute or two before the red and blue sirens filled the night and rushed to our location (we were literally a block away from the police station). A female officer stood by us the whole time until paramedics arrived, which took a very long time.

Brock was one of the last to be taken to a hospital. He was bleeding out for almost twenty minutes before an ambulance pulled up on the same street with the road work. At this point he had become almost unresponsive and was on the verge of unconsciousness. Several massive guys rushed across the grass with a stretcher, loaded him onto it, and then ran with him back to the waiting ambulance. I wasn’t able to go with him because there was another injured person in the ambulance, and it was too crowded. I wandered around to the front of the theater alone, unsure of where my friends had went. My blood stained shirt and a pool of blood were left behind on the corner of that sidewalk.

Walking through the crowds felt like a dream. I couldn’t believe what just happened. People were in hysterics and crying. A lot of people such as me were covered in blood. And, like me, I’m pretty sure the blood staining their skin and clothes wasn’t their own. A lot of people seemed to notice how lonely and dazed I looked, so they kept me company and even offered me a ride to different hospitals to find Brock, because I hadn’t been told what hospital he was taken to. I hung around these people for a while as police swarmed the area and asked us what we saw inside the theater. The whole parking lot was on lockdown, and we weren’t going to be allowed to leave any time soon. It was around 2:00 AM, so it was very dark outside still (and I was pretty cold, wearing only an undershirt and shorts). The flashing red and blue lights of what seemed like 100 police cars were blinding. I remember seeing a big police vehicle pull up that said something like “Crime Scene Investigation Unit” on it. I think that’s when it really sank in and hit me. I started to get sick to my stomach and wanted to vomit, but somehow I was able to hold it back.

Eventually, police started letting people leave. I jumped into my truck and booked it out of there. I was going 90-100 MPH through red lights and residential areas without even slowing down. Stupid, I know, but I was desperate to learn the fates of Brock and Tommy. I was in such a panic that I didn’t even think to go back to my apartment, grab my cell phone (which I had forgotten) and call my parents or someone else to help me! I was angry, upset, scared, and most of all still in a state of shock. Was I really going to lose Brock only a month shy of our first wedding anniversary because of some psychopath with a gun? Thankfully, by the time dawn rolled around I found the hospital he was treated in. This was in the next city over, maybe 45 minutes from the theater if you’re going the speed limit. I was so happy to be there, and the hospital staff were all so welcoming and understanding. After making sure I wasn’t injured as well, they let me wait in the ICU room that Brock would be placed in when he was done recovering from surgery. I was so glad he was alive. Brock and Tommy both had survived, though many others weren’t so lucky.

I found out the following day (after some much needed sleep on a hospital couch) that 12 people were killed in this shooting and over 70 were injured (I remember they first thought 15 people were killed, but the real number was 12). The little blond girl sitting in my row did not survive. She died in the theater no more than a few feet from us. She had been shot multiple times. A heart broken police officer, who cried during his court testimony, tried unsuccessfully to save her by carrying her out of the theater and having her sent to a hospital. Tommy was rushed to a different hospital in the back of a police car. He underwent surgery and made a full recovery. The bullet missed his hip bone and narrowly missed his urinary tract and bladder. According to the surgeons, my husband lost almost half his blood. Brock made it to the hospital just in time; any later and he would have died. He underwent several blood transfusions and was in the hospital for 21 days. The wound to his leg was severe enough that they had to amputate it after trying unsuccessfully to save it.

It’s been so long since the shooting happened that my husband, friends, and I have been able to recover from it somewhat. The event was pretty horrifying and has left us scarred for sure. I wouldn’t consider that part of the story to be creepy, though. No, the creepy part is the shooter himself. I later learned much about him from the murder trial that would follow in the coming years. Though my encounter with this man was very brief, he has affected my life greatly. Just to know that people like this exist…is disturbing. He is certainly one twisted individual that I never want to see again.

I learned everything from watching the televised trial that took place in early 2015. This guy was going to school for neuroscience or something in California. I guess he was a pretty smart guy. However, for some reason he had an obsession with killing people and had a stalker mentality. After dropping out of his university, he moved to my state and chose my local theater to commit a mass shooting. Before that, he was planning on hiding along remote hiking trails up in the mountains, jumping people, pulling them into the woods and killing them there, though he never went through with that idea. He stalked my theater for months and had this shooting all planned out for the night of July 20th. Though I never saw him before this, its unnerving to think this guy could have been watching us every time we went to the theater, and we would have never known it. We were completely unaware of what he had planned against us. This completely ruined my sense of security, because who knows what the stranger next to you is planning on doing to you.

I came very close to the shooter, but I never actually saw his face in person until I was forced to testify in court. Of course I saw his mug shots on television, but while in the theater I only saw him as a dark silhouette in the shadows, like a demonic figure rendered from the darkest and most sinister nightmare. He was even in the hallway that we passed upon running for the emergency exit. The only thing stopping him from killing us there and then was his jammed assault rifle. To commit this crime, he ordered a few thousand rounds of ammunition, riot gear and armor, tear gas, an assault rifle, and a shotgun. He took pictures of himself, which were shown in court, wearing all of this gear like some sick trophy and holding up these weapons with a menacing smile. He dyed his hair orange and put in these creepy black contacts while making devilish faces into his camera, something that made me sick just looking at. Before driving to the theater with all of this gear in his car, he booby trapped his entire apartment and set it to explode if anyone opened the door. Then, once at the theater, he posed as a movie goer and even bought a ticket for the movie. I think his ticket had Theater 8 on it, which was next door, but Theater 9 had more people in it so he went into number 9 instead. He was in the few front rows. I must have passed him several times in the lobby while he was there. Maybe he had seen me, too. At some point during the movie, he got up and went through the side exit (which didn’t have an alarm for some reason), kept it propped open with something, then went to his car to put on all his armor and grabbed his weapons. Then, he came back inside and started shooting. When we escaped the theater, we ran past his white car which was parked right at the exit. We didn’t even notice it. At some point he came outside, and he would have seen us there on the concrete. I don’t know what stopped him from shooting people that were outside, too, but he could have easily ended us there and then if he wanted to.”

Ragged breaths escaped your smiling lips as Y/f/n practically tackled you when Jensen and Jared stepped into the elevator with Cliff, Jensen’s eyes still locked on yours as the doors closed.

Y/f/n squealed in your ear as she pulled you in for a bone crushing hug, “What did he say?! What did he say?! TELL ME!!” She pulled away from your embrace and took your trembling hands in hers as she bounced in front of you.

“We’re going to meet up after the concert!”

She squealed—louder—and began jumping up and down.

You put your hands on her shoulders, trying, and failing, to ground her. “Y/f/n! Just be cool, lady. Damn!”

She checked her watch and her eyes went wide, “The concert starts in 30 minutes. Come on!”

She tugged on your wrist and dragged you toward the elevator. As much as you didn’t feel like changing again, you did want to get out of these shoes and back into your flip-flips.

anonymous asked:

do you think dylan warned brooks about the shooting before or that brooks is telling the truth and eric spared him (though eric seems to have hated him)?

Do you believe Brooks that Eric told him to go home on the day of the shooting though Eric hated him? perhaps Dylan warned him?

Excerpt from No Easy Answers, Page 14

I don’t really remember what (4th Period Creative Writing class) Mrs. Kelly had us do that day. I was already thinking about going home after fourth period and missing my last class. I had stayed up late on my computer the night before, and I was tired. I already had my cigarettes in hand by the time the bell rang to signify the end of the period. I had no idea that this would be the last time I would ever attend a class at Columbine High School. That it was the last time I’d ever take a philosophy test, or write a paper for Mrs. Kelly, or grade papers for Mrs. Caruthers, or play dodgeball in gym class. The world I knew was about to be altered forever. As I took a drag on my cigarette, I was a little surprised to see Eric suddenly pull into the parking lot right in front of me. It seemed strange that he would skip two classes, then suddenly show up back at school.

First of all, as a little aside, I just want to say that it’s a little suspect how Brooks underscores how he left Creative Writing class and started smoking a cigarette.. on school grounds, mind you.  Smoking isn’t really permitted on school grounds.  I mean, the whole reason for the Smokers Pit was to allow a designated place for students to go smoke off grounds because the Pit is situated within Clemente Park bordering on the edge of Columbine but not directly on campus. Dylan sometimes used to smoke in his car during lunch break. That must have felt hella rebellious for him to do.   Buuut… lighting up a smoke right on campus in front of entrance ways and rows of windows plus the potential school guard driving by on his usual patrol of campus..that’s ah, really something, Brooksie.  I do have to say, I slightly question whether that would be possible to do or if he was just embellishing that ‘scene’ right as he was about to confront Eric.

Anyway.. on to your question:

I don’t believe that Dylan blatantly warned Brooks with the specifics as to what he and Eric planned to do.   Brooks mentions he was considering ditching his last class after 4th period Creative Writing and he doesn’t offer in his book what class that was.  I tend to think that Dylan knew what class he went to fifth period and it wasn’t the commons or the library so he knew Brooks would be somewhat safe and would probably escape on his own.  Dylan may also have considered that since it was Senior ditch day on 4/20, that it was a good bet that Brooks would just skip out his last class as they pretty much all were doing lately. Dylan may have hinted in a subtle way to Brooks with suggestive hints along the lines of:  ‘Man, I’m so sick of it here, I think I’m going to ditch my last classes Tuesday, are you planning to?’     Plus, I think Dylan felt Brooks was somehow safe enough given where he’d be at that point in time on 4/20 and that Brooks would be smart enough to get out.

Yes, I believe it’s plausible according to Brooks’ story that he confronted Eric pulling up and getting out of his car, and in the wrong parking lot space for that matter, and that Eric told him ‘he liked him now and to go home’.  Where I do find it suspect is when Brooks said he felt uneasy when Eric commanded him to leave and so then Brooks actually does just that - he just took off and did as Eric told him to like an obedient puppy.  That’s the odd part for me.  The moment Brooks started walking away, he immediately started thinking Eric was up to something nefarious and yet, he still..just.. kept on walking. Then he hears ‘cracks!’ which he mentally chooses to construe as neighborhood construction but then finally comes to his senses and realizes it’s the sounds of gun shots. And again, his immediate conclusion is that it’s Eric up to no good.  So, why Brooks would just do Eric’s bidding and walk away and ‘go home’ is more of the big mystery to me than why Eric actually decided to spare the dude during that little confrontation they had in the parking lot.

It makes perfectly good sense to me that Eric wouldn’t have started the attack prematurely by shooting Brooks out in plain site. It would’ve drawn too much attention and too early pn before their plans. They never would’ve been able to do what they planned to do if he started hastily with one person egging him on in the parking lot. This was no longer a personal vendetta as it was a year or so ago when Eric ranted on his website about Brooks. No, now it was a grand scale plan, a full on military attack against the school. Waiting until just the right time would be a much sweeter vengeance for Eric. Plus, Eric was busy at the moment, he had work to do hauling all his shit out of the car and dragging it up the school lawn. He was already late and Eric hated to be behind schedule. Brooks was simply in the way.  Eric had  bigger fish to fry rather than small fish the likes of Brooks rather foolishly mouthing off at him for missing an insignificant test. It was a bit like a small fish innocently swimming up to a shark to peck off of him. And I think Eric was amused by that irony and plus, well, he did actually liked Brooks ‘now’ , as in this point in time and Brooks admonishing him and flippantly insulting him just made Eric chuckle to himself and go ‘man, you just have no idea, do you dumb fuck of a friend?’ Here, just a few months before, the two were at each others throats and then, Eric wouldn’t have given it a second thought shutting the dude up with the receiving end of his shotgun.

I have to tell this cute/fun story from the show last night. I was sitting on the left orchestra aisle seat in row C. As soon as I sat down I noticed the guy sitting right behind was like a 50 year old man (with is teenage daughter) and my first thought was, “he’s getting carwashed.” Started talking to the girl in front of me and she totally agreed that was going to happen. Then I turn around and momma and papa Criss are getting into the row right behind the father/daughter. When Bill passes the guy he pats him on the shoulder and says, “You’re in trouble”, and continued down the row. The guy looks so confused and I started cracking up and the guy looks at me and is like, “what is going on? Why did that guy just tell me I’m in trouble?!?” I respond, “something might happen to you during the show.” The guys goes, “wait, what?! And how does that guy know?” I told them that they were Darren’s parents (who are now standing right behind the two, talking to people). The girl freaks out and the dad turns and starts talking to Bill and asked him what is going to happen to him during the show. He said he wouldn’t give away spoilers. At this point a fan came up to them, so the dad turns back to me and asks me what is going to happen. I inform him it’ll be fun and it’s nothing bad. He asked me how many times I’ve seen the show, I told him this will be my 11th overall but 9th with Darren, his eyes bugged out. Then his daughter started asking me questions because she’d seen the movie but that was it. I hinted at what might happen to her dad and she got super excited and the dad was like, “we’re switching seats!” The girl obviously refused. Then momma and papa Criss come back into the conversation and the guy tells them that I’ve seen Darren in the show 9 times (in my head I was like NOOOOO don’t tell them that!). They joked that I’ve seen it more then them, I said doubtful, they said but it’s close. Then Cerina thanked me for supporting Darren, umm what, thank you FOR him! (I didn’t say that, I just said of course!). Then people who were sitting next to them came and it turned out momma and papa were sitting in the wrong seats, they actually had the two seats at the end of the row. Bill sat down on the aisle seat, right behind the dad, and I say, “UH OH! I think you might be in trouble now.” He laughs and Cerina goes, “HE WOULDN’T DARE!” The way she said it was hilarious, like she would beat Darren’s ass if he ever even thought of it. Haha but yeah that was my cute moment with Darren’s parents. The guy didn’t end up getting carwashed, maybe because his parents were right behind him. But he carwashed the girl right across the aisle from me so that was still great AND I got to high five Yitzak when he comes down during Midnight Radio. I can’t believe it’s all over tomorrow! I’m going to be such a mess.

Akimoto Sayaka 10th Debut Anniversary Live

I went for the live on April 2nd on behalf of Jeffyer, who had to miss it by a few days. She’s like the biggest Sayaka’s fan that I’ve ever known, so dedicated and amazing and also the reason why I am in this fandom. There’s really not a queuing system there but everyone’s so nice, like they don’t really care who gets in first or anything. LOL, everyone’s so relax about it.

You get to choose the color of your wristband, and that’s how your standing position is decided. The hall is divided into 5 sections, front into left, center, right, and back just left and right. We didn’t know the standing until you are in the hall. Purple on front right, green center, pink on front left, and silver/gold at the back. The center block ended up being crazy squeezy because Sayaka fans mostly will go for that color? A lot of ladies in the pink area. LOL I was in the pink area, second row. LOL

Okay wow I can’t believe I’m actually about to type up my experience of meeting TAYLOR SWIFT.

Monday night, October 20, I got a DM from Taylor Nation and started bawling my eyes out cause I knew what was happening. I sent them my info and they called me the next day. From the time I got off the phone with them til like 9pm that night, I was freaking out trying to pull money together to get a plane ticket and hotel. My mom and I thought of every scenario we could, even couch surfing and taking a bus, but I decided to call up Maria and just ask if I could stay with her considering she lives an hour away from Manhattan. My mom was worried because I was supposed to keep it a secret but I’ve known Maria for a while now so I thought I’d ask. Well I texted her and she immediately knew why I was asking, even though I didn’t say 100% what was going on. To be honest, they didn’t tell me much at all.  Maria’s parents said it was okay, so I figured out some money and booked my flight the next day.

So I left Sunday morning to go to New Jersey. Maria and her parents picked me up at the airport and we spent Sunday in the city! We went to Times Square, made 1989 themed m&ms at the m&m store (gotta get that promo) and found the wings Taylor took a picture at in the summer time. We went to diner at a yummy pizza place and her dad told me all about the different areas of the city. It was really great. I was in awe of everything. We also went to the swift parade thing in central park! We got flyers and danced and passed them out to people. I got to meet Katie! Then while we were there, I’m not sure how it happened but we figured out that some girls from Canada were there for it too! And so we all started talking and followed each other on social media and stuff. I decided I would meet up with them the next day before the event since I couldn’t bring anyone.

I got to the city by bus around 12 the next day. I could hardly eat my muffin I got for breakfast but I met up with Naomi, Kailee, Guylaine and Megan at their hotel. We hung out for a bit and then met up with Katie and Kait to get lunch! Oh and Leighanne surprised us and showed up and went with us too. So we got lunch, I couldn’t eat, AGAIN, but I got a PowerAde cause I knew I needed like, electrolytes and stuff to be hydrated. So we get to iHeart Theater early and the people there have no idea what we’re talking about so we go to Starbucks next door. THIS IS WHEN I STARTED MEETING EVERYONE FROM TUMBLR. I WAS FREAKING OUT. First it was Cassie omg she’s adorable. Then Jordan and Josh and then Lettie and Jenna and Brittany and omg everyone just started showing up it was great. And so we move outside to just hang out and they FINALLY start lining us up. So we get our stuff checked in and go through security then we all get into the little theater and there were cookies and diet coke and cupcakes and water and once again, took 3 bites of my cookie and was like CANT EAT THIS. So the lady comes up there and was like, PSYCH, we’re moving you. Come on. So we get up and follow her. We walked so far and there were so many people thinking we were going to Taylor’s apartment.

Then I freaking TRIP AND FALL. Oh my god it was hysterical. I was linked arms with Cassie and Jenna and if they hadn’t have been right there I would have face planted it was so funny. So we get to this other building and waited in line for forever and were all so confused. So we go through security again and then go up the elevator 17 floors (my lucky number) and go out on to the roof to see this stage and everything was so beautiful. The sun was just starting to set and my little group ran up to the left side of the stage and we were front row. I was on the very very end. So we wait around for a while and Scott comes out and he’s passing out the 1989 guitar picks and so then after a while a guy comes over and semi-explains what’s going on. He’s like, “you know this is a small crowd of hand-selected people. This isn’t usually how this works. Taylor plays to sold out arenas so you’ve gotta be loud.” Then a few more minutes passes and they explain that she’s gonna walk down the center and then they can fill in behind her. And then her band comes out and we’re freaking out cause I’m literally front row. I waved to Paul and Amos. They had 1989 playing over the speakers and we all were singing. Then we started chanting “Taylor! Taylor!” And then they gave us this count down and we were supposed to cheer and scream! And then it was the live stream of her performance! She came out and walked through the crowd then got on stage and sang so amazingly. She smiled and made eyes contact while singing with me like 4 times and it was amazing. I was having the time of my life. After the first song, she asked the sound people if it was okay, and they said it was good. Then after she signed off she was like “hold on I have people talking to me through these in-ears.” And then she’s like “oh… I need to redo that…. Do I need to say Yahoo?” And we’re all just looking at her in awe cause she’s just standing there so perfect. So then she redoes the outro thing and then she looks at us and was like “Thank you guys so much for coming tonight. You guys are amazing. Did you have fun? Okay well I’m gonna go change I’ll see you guys in a bit” And then Jenna, Cassie, Lettie and Lettie’s sister Anne and I started freaking out cause we thought this was it.

So we line up again and go downstairs to floor 14 and there’s this big open space with contemporary seating and plants and its just all really modern looking. There was pizza and diet coke and water again. So I got a slice of pizza and only ate a bit of it. And I had water. So we’re all just mingling and talking for a bit and then Cassie and Jenna are just SILENT. Like they’re in a daze and I’m like OH SHIT IT JUST HIT ME TAYLOR IS ABOUT TO WALK IN AND OH MY GOD.

So a little bit after that one of the big screens turns on and it’s about to come on the TV and we’re all excited and then Taylor walks in so some people move over towards her to hug her and stuff. Scott was hanging out with us watching the TV and then she comes up to Caylee with a present and starts singing Happy Birthday and we all join in. And then she starts meeting people. She talked to everyone for a long time. It was so great.

While she was talking to Jenna, Lettie and I were off to the side and we were telling Jenna all day she needs to tell Taylor she’s the girl who Taylor only notices when she’s cussing up a storm. So she did and Taylor was like OH MY GOD YES and gave her a big hug and Jenna kept looking over at us and so Taylor finally did and Taylor was like “HEY BUDDY!”  to me and gave Lettie and I thumbs up then she goes “I notice people from Tumblr when they post a lot of selfies, but she hardly posts any!” and Lettie and I were like “I know! She should post more!” and she’s like “I only know her by her posts” or something like that and Lettie and I were like “she’s a good girl, promise!” cause she’s always just cussing like crazy and Taylor was like “Oh no, I LOVE IT are you kidding!?” or something like that omg anyways.

So we watched Cassie meet her too and omg poor Cassie was so excited she couldn’t stop crying. So she gave Cassie the longest hug and oh my god she was so sweet.

I heard this little snippet from Taylor’s conversations with someone else and idk why I remember it but I couldn’t stop laughing.

“Oh my god…. You can’t tell me how to cut a tomato!”

I went over to talk to Andrea and I gave her a big hug and told her I’m so happy to be here. I was like “I’m sure you get this all the time, but I gave you a red scrapbook on the last night of the tour last year in Nashville. Did Taylor get it?” And she was like “I’m going to say yes, but only because I know that the answer isn’t no. Taylor never gets rid of anything fans make her, especially scrapbooks. She has a few in each house, a few on the tour bus, you know? It’s great to look at when she’s having a bad day. She can just flip through the pages and realize everything’s going to be fine.”

Then she asked me how many shows I’ve been to and I told her “I saw her open for Rascal Flatts!” and her mouth dropped and she was like “That was so long ago!” and I was like “I know! And then I’ve seen every headlining tour” And she asked what city and I told her and she goes “And you’ve never met Taylor before?” and I go “No.” and she just looked so surprised and was like “I am so glad you’re here then.” And gave me another huge hug.

So then we went over to a group of people talking to Tree and she someone was like “Since you came along, Taylor’s been more involved with us, so thank you!” or something like that and Tree was like “Oh it’s all her!” and looked over at her and smiled and then we went to go wait by Taylor again.

While she was talking to Lettie she was being so cute and was like “we had parents talk to us on the phone and be like **strong hick accent** ‘ um yeah is my daughter gonna be sold into sex trafficking or something like what is going on’ or something like that omg I was laughing so hard. And was talking to Anne about how she has two middle names and how that must be funny when she gets in trouble and impersonated a parent. I don’t remember all the names she said but she was like “Anne Sarah Catherine Margret Josephine! GO TO YOUR ROOM!” it was so cute oh my god I’m smiling so big just remembering it.

Finally: THE MOMENT I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE 2006.

So then it was my turn and she goes “Hey BUDDY!” and like engulfed me in a huge hug and she was like “thank you so much for coming!” and I go “Thank you for inviting me, this is amazing! I’ve waited so long for this” and she was like “Oh trust, me, I know you have!” And she was holding on to my hands and then her eyes got wide and she looked all serious at me and she was like “You seriously look so beautiful tonight” and I go “Oh my god?! YOU look beautiful!” and WE DID THAT BACK AND FORTH A FEW TIMES AND WE WERE LIKE GIGGLING AND THEN she was like “OH MY GOD THANKS FOR SAYING THAT!” AND I go, “hey I actually have a question for you.” And she was like “Sure what is it?!” So I told her I play guitar, ukulele and piano because of her and write my own music. She was like “Oh my god! That’s amazing!” and then I asked her some questions about songwriting. I was like “Even when I’m most inspired or feel really creative, I have trouble coming up with what I want to say and how to switch it up from other stuff I’ve written. Do you have any advice for that?“ and she was like “Wow that’s a good question!!” And she just thought for a minute. And I’m not gonna say exactly what she said because she said a lot and stuff and idk I kind of want to keep that part just for me. But she did say that I need to tune my guitar differently and put my voice memos on record and just play around. She wrote “I Almost Do” and a few others with this specific tuning style and I’m so excited to try it out when I get home.  I just remember she smelled SO GOOD I WISH I HAD ASKED WHAT PERFUME SHE WAS WEARING. And her makeup looked amazing and she just talked to me like I was her best friend. It was amazing.

Then I was like “have you seen the picture of us from the Speak Now tour going around on Tumblr? Where you’re holding my hand?” and she’s nodding her head the whole time I’m talking and she’s like “I totally do. You can’t see my face though. OH MY GOD WE SHOULD RECREATE THAT FOR OUR PICTURE.”  I was actually going to open up the fridge behind the bar and “dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light” with her (which Megan actually ended up doing which is crazy!) but when Taylor suggests a pose, you don’t turn it down. Especially since she wanted to RECREATE our candid together.

So then she like moves me and repositions me how she wants and then she’s like “I can hold you hand like this and then hug you, so you can see both of our faces!” And I’m like “PERFECT!”

So we pose and then she gave me a tight squeeze and was like “I’m not letting go” And we just laughed and I gave her the biggest hug and I was like “This was the best night of my life. Thank you.” And she was like “I’m so glad you were able to make it. I know you traveled far” And I go “Yeah from Oklahoma!” And she was like “wow.” And then I go “Oh I’m Emily by the way”, and like grabbed her hand and she was like “You don’t think I know your name?! I know that! Duh! I know everything!” all sassy and I died. Oh my god. She was just so amazing. I think I talked to her for about 4 minutes or so. It was all so fast in my head but realizing how much we talked about it had to have been longer than what it seemed.

Then I left and got my keychain and my bag of stuff. When I got to the elevator I realized I forgot my coat so I went back in and got my coat and she like smiled at me again. What a cutie.

I got back to Maria’s at almost midnight and I can’t even tell you how I’m feeling. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve been completely emotionless because I’m still in shock. The entire thing feels like a dream. The fact that Taylor chose me to come and celebrate her album release with her is just insane. It’s unreal. I can’t believe it happened to me. I can’t believe I finally met my favorite person in the world. And I can’t believe I have to go back to real life now. Yesterday was the best day of my entire life. I got to meet friends I’ve known for years, meet new people who I’m now so close with and experiencing all of this with them was incredible. There aren’t enough adjectives in the English language to express how thankful I am and how amazing last night was.

Thank you, Taylor. For everything. Not just yesterday, but the past 8 years. You’ve been by my side for so long and I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me. Finally getting to meet you and the things we talked about, I will never forget. I’ll never forget the look on your face. I had the time of my life. I’ll love you, forevermore Taylor!

“Black jeans, white tee, black converse/ You know she gets it right/Blue hair, blue eyes, I saw her”

You were absolutely stoked to be going to the 5sos concert with your friend. You didn’t know much about them besides some of their songs you had heard on the radio. Your friend had recently moved to LA and coincidently got a job at the studio where 5SOS had been recording their new album. They hooked her up with a couple of tickets to see their show in LA after she got to working with them.

“I don’t know if I should try to dress like casual or like spice it up ya know?” You say as you rummage through your closet relentlessly.

Crap. You had nothing remotely cute or even decent really.

“Hmmm let me see.” She says as she begins pulling things out of your unkempt drawers. “Christ what the hell happened to all your clothes?”

“I told you!”  You exclaim as you pick up all the fallen pieces.

“Here, here. How about this. It’s like you’re cute but…like casual.”

She holds up your black jeans with holes at the knees and a plain destroyed white t-shirt.

“Wow what the fuck. Are you trying to dress me like a fucking member of the band?” You oblige and slip on the outfit.

“Well you might as well wear these too. Ya know, just complete the look.” She chucks your all black converse to you.

“Wait so which is the one that you think is hot?” You question as you lace up your shoes.

“Calum. He’s like the one with dark hair and all the tats.”

“Oooo nice. Does he have any hot friends possibly?” Your eyebrows raise.

“Yea. You should fucking see Luke. He’s a total babe.”

“She said her friends would like the show/Backstage, we’ll let them in”

Getting to the venue you were given special passes and were escorted to the back.

“I think we only have you on the list.” The security points to your friend and your heart drops in embarrassment.

“Wait…but I told them that I wa- oh my god hi!” Your friend stops midsentence as she is greeted by Calum.

Your heart begins to beat a little faster as your eyes meet a tall, dark haired, dark eyed Calum Hood.

“No, no it’s fine. That’s your friend that you told me about, right? Hi, I’m Calum.” His hand extends toward you and you couldn’t notice 3 little letters etched onto his skin.

“Oh hi, I’m _________. Nice to meet you!” Your voice shaky for a second, then stabilizes.

“Yea she’s fine. She can come back too.” Calum says as he places a hand on the security’s back and leads you two back.

“I’m glad you two could come!” He opens the door and you see Luke.

Holy shit he was gorgeous.

“Heeeyyyy!” All 3 of the other boys shout in unison.

One by one they all got up and introduced themselves.

“I’m so glad you could come _________!” Michael said to your friend as he engulfed her in a cuddly hug. “Oh shit. Sick hair!” He says to you as he runs his fingers through your long, blue locks.

“Thanks! Yours is pretty cool too!” You go in for a hug. “I’m ___________ by the way.”

“Michael!” His pouty lips stretch into a beautiful smile.

“And this is Luke….” Your friend gives you a little shove of encouragement.

“Hi!” Your face begins to warm up. He made you blush without even doing anything.

“Hey! I’m Luke.” He was tall and lanky, his hair was relaxed, and he was dressed in all black from head to toe. Basically a total babe. “Here let me get you something to drink.”

He walks back with a red solo cup filled to the brim.

“Just a little something we do before we go on stage. It kinda takes off the edge.”

All you could do was smile back to him as you take your first sip and he takes a seat beside you. You were star struck without knowing you were star struck.

You look over and see your friend and Calum already getting a little cozy on the couch, both with a cup in hand.

“Am I gonna see you out there tonight?” Luke questions as his hand rests on his knee.

“Oh yea definitely.” You smile, stupidly.

“Good. I’ll be looking for you.”

——–

“They wanna be, be, be in the game/They wanna know, know, what we got to say/The front row, you’re going insane/and in the back row, you’re killing the game”

Getting to the side barricade in front of the crowd the whole venue booms. People going absolutely insane left and right. You cover your ears from the loud speakers blasting you in the face.

“Holy shit!” You scream out as the boys come running on stage to start the show.

Your friend looks over to you grabbing your arm. You two were trying to remain chill but there was no way in hell that was going to happen with all this energy around you.

Through out the show you and Luke kept on making eye contact. He would look over to you and raise his eyebrows or stick his tongue out. Standing on Calum’s side you were bound to get some interaction. Your friend was already in full on googley eye mode after the first song. Jumping around and going nuts just like you did at every concert and this was one was not any different. You were definitely converted into a full blown fan by now. Not to mention the boys weren’t too bad to look at either. All of them in their sweaty glory. But you couldn’t take your eyes off of Luke.

You stayed for most of the set but retreating backstage now you were just going to wait for the boys to say thanks and goodbye.

Lounging around in their backstage room, pouring yourself another one of Luke’s premade concoction your eyes wander around.

“Dude. They’re like really, really hot. I had no fucking clue…” You say amazed.

“I told you! Calum is a fucking babe. I’m obsessed. And Luke. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of you. He was basically eye fucking you the whole show.”

Your face flushes crimson at the thought.

“What are we supposed to do? I mean you work with them so that would be like unprofessional right?” You say as you take another swig.

“Unprofessional my ass. I just work as a receptionist. I’m not an actual producer. So fuck being professional.” You both laugh.

On your second cup of whatever the hell this was your head begins to spin a bit.

“What the fuck even is this?” You say as you peek inside the solo cup.

“I have no clue but I’m definitely feeling it now. This is like my secon-fourth cup!”

You begin to hear voices move down the hallway and get increasingly louder as they got closer.

“AYYYYYY!” You and your friend yell simultaneously as the boys walk in going straight for the drinks.

“Jesus where did it all go?” Luke says as he picks up the almost empty bottle. “Who drank all of this?”

You slowly raise your hand. “Guilty.” Luke laughs as he pours what is left of it.

“So what’s the plan tonight?” Calum questions.

——–

“Everybody’s gonna go big tonight/in a couple hours we’ll be like/Take my money, take my keys/Drive this car through the drive thru please”

“Are you sure this is okay?” You question nervously as you hop into the back seat.

“Yea we’ll be fine. Ash has his license!” Luke says as he slides in beside you. “You do have your license on you, right?”

“Well technically it’s still in my gym shorts which are in the bunks which are in the bus which we aren’t in right now. But I think we’ll be fine.” Ashton says as he buckles his seat belt.

“Whoa, NOOOOOO! Who in here has their license?” Luke shouts over the loud chatter.

“I mean I doOooOOOOO!” Your friend exclaims, slurring her words.

“You’re fucking insane if you think we’re gonna let you drive.” Calum says as he holds down her flailing arms.

“And we’re not letting you drive either!” Luke points at you. “Damn it Cal tell me you brought your license. I know Mikey for sure left his and I did too. Damn it.”

“I did actually!” He sounded extremely excited.

“Cal. You just got that not even 24 hours ago! I’d rather have her drive!” Michael points to your friend who was already lying in Calum’s lap looking like she was going to hurl.

“No I’ll be fine! Ash, get up.”

This ride was everything but smooth. Running over sidewalks, swerving into the wrong lanes, jerky braking. You felt the alcohol sloshing in your stomach.

“Oh god I don’t feel too good.” You say as you lay your cheek on Luke’s shoulder. You feel his cold hand on your other cheek.

“Damn it Cal. How did you even pass this test?” Luke questions as he pushes your hair behind your ear.

“Just shut up and let me drive!”

“WAIT! There! Exit here, exit here!” Michael shouts from the passenger seat.

You made it to an In N Out right off the highway. So this is what they dragged you guys out for?

“In N Out! Thank god. I need something in my stomach” You say.

Pulling up to the drive thru the speaker bursts with sound.

“Hello what can I get for you?” A female voice exclaims.

“Ugh yea hi can we get one of each on the menu!” Michael blurts out over Calum.

“Holy shit.” Calum whispers under his breath.

“What? I haven’t had this in forever. No worries, there’s enough for everyone.”

Driving up to the window the girl’s eyes widen.

“Oh. My. God. Are you Calum from 5sos?” Peeking her head out further she lays eyes on all of you. “Holy…it’s all of you! Wait can I get a picture?”

“Yea, yea of course.” Michael answers.

“Oh my god! Thank you so much. Oh yea can you just pull up and I’ll bring all of it out for you. It might take a while. You did order the whole menu.” She giggles.

“Hey! No judgment!” Michael shouts and laughs.

“Michael you’re gonna be farting so bad tonight if you eat all of this.” Luke says. You could feel the vibration of his voice on your face as you now lean on his chest.

“Who the fuck cares! It’ll be worth it!”

——

Making your way back to the venue and into the bus, unseen, you were amazed how you all pulled it off. Michael begins distributing all the hamburgers and fries amongst you all but obviously keeping most for him.

“So is this like a thing you guys do after shows?” Your friend questions with her mouth full of fries.

“Usually no. But since you two were with us we thought we would try something different for once.” Calum says as he throws her a little smile.

“Are we gonna see you at the studio tomorrow?” Ashton asks your friend.

“Yea. I’m probably gonna feel like death but yea I’ll be there.”

“You too?” Luke turns to you.

“I mean if you-” Your friend cuts you off midsentence.

“She’ll be there!”

anonymous asked:

Can you write a short about two boys in love?

I sat in class staring at the clock. I had the same routine every thursday morning. I would come to class early. Squeeze into one of the seats and wince as it creaked under my weight. Then I’d prop my head in my hands and watch the clock above the white board.

This time I’m nine minutes early. There were a few others in the class and even though there wasn’t technically assigned seating, everyone had their places. I sat in the second row from the front. There was one char to my right and four to the left. I didn’t pay attention to anyone on my left though. It was only that one chair on the right that truly mattered to me.

The clock ticked and a few more students shuffled in. Every time someone entered my heat picked up a little and then sadly, sunk. Someone moved into a chair to my right and I saw them look at the clock too. Three minutes to go. They were probably looking at that clock thinking, “Class will start soon.” whereas I look at that clock and think, “He will be here soon.”

And he did arrive soon after. With one minute to spare. He strolled into the room and instantly the entire class brightened. He was tall and lanky. His black hair flopped over his eyes but there was no mistaking brown of his eyes. I found myself smiling and I quickly decided that today, I wouldn’t hide it.

When his eyes found mine, he didn’t hide his smile either. Today was an important day. I don’t think we could hide our excitement if we wanted to.

He made his way over to me, his strides were long and he was by my side quicker than I was prepared for. Then his hand was on top of my and his thumb brushed against my chin and – I made some strange, animal noise that caused him to choke out a laugh that he quickly covered with a cough. I could feel my face turning bright red but he kept his hand on mine.

“Oh god. You even look cute with a shade of red as your skin colour.” He teased.

Somehow I managed to blush, adding more red to my complexion. I wanted to hide my face but I couldn’t take my eyes off him. So I just smiled in response.

He stuck one of his legs back and hooked his foot around the chair and dragged it closer to mine until he could sit down and hold my hand. Then he did something that made my heart stop in my chest. He leant forward and kissed me. Right there. At first I was so shocked. We’d never kissed in school before and it took me a moment before I kissed him back. My free hand went up to his neck. His skin was so soft. His lips were so kind. He was so beautiful. Then he pulled away.

“Happy one year.” He whispered with a smile.

I didn’t care if I was red faced. I didn’t care that we were in a classroom that the teacher had just walked into. I didn’t care about anything right now besides him. “Happy one year.” I repeated and huge smile took over my face.

“Alright students! Eyes to the front!” Mr. Puton announced and it was a few seconds before I could tear my gaze away. I was thankful that he kept his hand in mine for the entire lesson. I didn’t want to ever let him go.
