started in japan

Okay So

First RWBY overtakes Red Vs. Blue as RT’s signature show

Then RWBY gains a fanbase so big there’s a fan made game, fan made animation and even a fan made visual novel/

Then RWBY gets a massive fanbase in Japan.

Then RWBY gets to be the first American made anime (Yeah, I know anima means “Japanese animation” but Monty called it an anime so suck it) to get a JAPANESE DUB.

Then RWBY gets a manga in Japan which gets a major release.

Then RWBY actually AIRS on Japanese Tv.

And now RWBY is not only in a crossover fighting game but the people making the game are so confident in the show they actually made it one of the focuses of the ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER (sharing the spotlight along with legends like Blazblue and Persona.)

… Monty, you really didn’t know what you started.

Gravity Rush 2 x NieR Automata Costume DLC will be available for free on PS Store Japan starting tomorrow. But it’ll be available only for a limited time (April 27 - May 9). It contains 2B outfits on Kat. It’ll be available on 2 versions, with and without visor.

That Free DLC will also head to the West on May 5. Shunsuke Saito, Gravity Rush 2 character designer, created an artwork of Kat x 2B crossover in commemoration of the collaboration .

Idlers 12 hours of Motegi with RWB - Part 1

Last July I attended the Idlers 12 hours of Motegi with team RWB. We traveled through the night before the event from the RWB HQ in Chiba to the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Tochigi. I took these shots at a gas station on the way. The seven noisy RWB race cars showing up in the dead of night along with an army of RWB race drivers, crew members and photographers from around the world certainly brought the sleepy service area to life.

As you can see, the cars are all road registered and were driven to the event on public roads; no flatbeds, no trucks. It was a good chance to check the cars were all running smoothly. I actually traveled with RWB regular Alex Kyo in one of Nakai-San’s 993s. It was a real thrill to be a part of that journey, travelling in convoy, in the dead of night, on a Japanese highway with so many incredible cars.

I have a huge collection of photos from this event. It was an amazing experience and definitely a highlight since I started Rapid Japan. Part 2 coming soon.

So ANIMATE’s newest Cafe Collab started yesterday in Japan, and it is suits+flowers themed. Some of the characters look very wedding-esque including Victor and Yuuri. We couldn’t tell from the original thumbnails released, but now that we have closeups of the items from people who have been, we can tell Victor and Yuuri do indeed have their rings on in these acrylic stands/badges! So uh yeah, this is definitely wedding themed for them.

I know we’ve really been wanting more official stuff with rings, so this is exciting. Plus these are cute as heck. It almost looks like they have hearts in their eyes! You can see more about the Cafe collab here (including images of the rest of the characters featured).

Thanks to soukatsu  on twitter for the info!

I’m off to Japan and won’t be back for a month. Don’t worry! To keep you all entertained while I am away, I decided to do a ‘Japan Challenge 2017′ (something I made up myself XD) instead of inktober.

I made an illustration for each significant place I will be visiting during my trip and have queued them all to post throughout the month of October. I hope you all enjoy and have a safe and fantastic month getting ready for Halloween <3
