stars of the season 2013

Donald Glover has officially been cast as Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo prequel film.

Lucasfilm announced today that Donald Glover, an acclaimed actor, award-winning writer, and Grammy-nominated artist, will be playing the part of Lando Calrissian in the still-untitled Han Solo Star Wars film, helmed by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Glover will join Alden Ehrenreich — previously cast as Han Solo — in bringing two iconic Star Wars characters back to the big screen, but at a time in their lives previously unexplored. This new film depicts Lando in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld — years before the events involving Han, Leia, and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and his rise to Rebel hero in Return of the Jedi.

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Lord and Miller. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”

Glover is best known for creating and starring in the critically acclaimed FX series Atlanta (which had the highest premiere numbers for any basic cable comedy show since 2013), as well as for starring in four seasons of the show Community, and for his Grammy-nominated album Because the Internet, performed under the name Childish Gambino. In addition, Glover appeared in the Academy Award-nominated The Martian, and will be seen in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The untitled Han Solo movie is set for release in 2018.

Player Feature: Jamie Benn

From Victoria, British Columbia. The last of the player features I’ll do unless you guys want me to try to do more. Jamie was named captain of the Stars before the 2013-14 season and has all the qualities on and off the ice that a captain should have. He knows exactly what to say and how to say it after a win, loss, or gut-wrenching elimination. Jamie Benn is for sure all the Dallas Stars could ask for as a captain.

Fontana remembered, “The first time a television script crossed my desk, I said, ‘I can do this.’ That’s when I got really interested in writing for television.”

Once Fontana realized that the main suppliers of programming for TV were relocating to Los Angeles, she also decided to make the move. Landing in LA in 1959, she learned that Revue Studios, the maker of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Wagon Train and Leave it to Beaver, needed typists. It was a nowhere job for most but, once inside the studio system, Fontana kept a watchful eye on the job postings. One was for a western called Overland Trail. The producer needed a secretary, and that brought Fontana to Samuel Peeples. He became more than a boss; he was also a mentor…

Peeples liked Fontana’s confidence and told her to start writing. That first script was credited to Dorothy C. Fontana. Peeples had no qualms about associating a woman writer with his shoot-'em-up series, but others would.

“I was being turned down for interviews,” she recalled. “They were saying, 'Oh, well, I don’t think a woman can write this show.’ And it would be a western. And I’d say, 'But I’ve got six credits on westerns. Why don’t you think I can write this?’”

The answer was always the same: writers for television came with first names like Gene, Sam, and Rod - not Dorothy. And so the pen name of D.C. Fontana was born.

Matt Harvey’s Comeback Trail

By Zac Vierra

After Matt Harvey was diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in late August of 2013, the right-hander started to think about the future of his career. He wondered if he would ever be the same pitcher he was before the injury.

Harvey elected to have Tommy John Surgery to repair his arm in October of that year. He would be sidelined for all of 2014 as he recovered from the surgery.

After a layoff of nearly 18 months, The Dark Knight returned to action in third game of the 2015 season and immediately impressed tossing six shutout innings with nine strikeouts.

Harvey would win his first five starts of the season en route to a regular season in which he finished 13-8 with a 2.71 ERA. With his postseason outings, Harvey finished the year having thrown 216 innings, the most by a pitcher coming off Tommy John.

On Thursday Harvey was named the National League Comeback Player of the Year, the first Met to win the award since it’s inception in 2005.

“Leading into the season, you don’t know what to expect. Obviously going from zero innings, I couldn’t be happier. I think the best thing and the most positive thing is how I feel after the 200-inning mark, and quite honestly, it’s probably better than I did at the 100 mark. For me, the season was obviously an extreme success, just being healthy, playing, going out there every fifth day or whenever it was and being healthy and being where we are now. I don’t think anybody’s happier at that than I am,” Harvey said before his start in Game 5 of the World Series.

Despite the injury and talk of innings limits throughout the season, Harvey proved throughout 2015 that he is the same pitcher post-injury as the one that dominated the 2013 season and started the All-Star Game at Citi Field.

With a full healthy season under his belt, Mets fans should be excited for what Matt Harvey will bring to the 2016 team.

Community: Alison Brie on Dan Harmon Returning, Annie Maturing and Season 5's Guest Stars - IGN

Alison Brie talks to IGN about Community: Season 5, Dan Harmon’s return, Jonathan Banks joining and new guest stars like Nathan Fillion.

IGN: So what can you say is going on for Annie this season? How is she doing in her fifth year at Greendale?

Brie: It’s been a really cool year for her. Annie’s matured a bit since we’ve seen her. I tweeted a photo with Joel and Nathan Fillion, and people responded, they were like, “Annie’s in pants!?” I’m like, “That’s right, folks. Annie’s in pants this year! It’s a big deal. It’s a lot of Annie’s in pants.” But it’s funny how something small like that – because it actually does signify a big change for the character. There’s been a little time since we saw them last in Season 4, and she has matured a bit. So it’s kind of back to that great gung-ho Annie that I really love, who’s busting people’s balls and trying to get s**t done. I love that. I have a great episode with Jonathan Banks, where we kind of go toe to toe, trying to work on something together. She’s very challenging to Jeff’s character again. It’s, like, all these things that I think were starting to get a little lost with Annie’s character over the years. She just sort of became like an “Aww!” machine. So now she’s back to that gung-ho-ness, and I’m really enjoying it.

Her analysis of Annie is spot on. Am excited for her. I love the whole interview.

how to make a London episode not done in London?.

…but when Michael Ausiello hears ’British actors’ he immediately thinks BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. And look how sad James is when they didn’t get him. Just kidding.

Love to see Sherlock and Shawn work together. That would be interesting, isn’t it?
