starfish-earrings

Hey guys, it’s been awhile but I’ve been so busy with cosplay and college I haven’t had the time to do much. But, I did manage to finish my newest custom Disney doll: Ariel in her seafoam dress from the ending of The Little Mermaid. I really wanted her to look like the ocean had formed around her when the dress was made, so to start the dress is made from three layers of metallic blue fabric, a sea blue organza, and a powder blue organza to create a look like water. The dress is beaded in holographic sequins and seaglass beads, cascading down in a pattern reminiscent of ripples in a pool. The scoop neckline is finished with string beads, and the dress ends in concentrated rhinestones like a wave coming to shore. Her look is finished with starfish earrings and a zipper in the back. I hope you guys like her!

what I don’t need: boys telling me that i’m pretty

what I do need: the starfish earrings from aquamarine whispering compliments in my ear telling me what a beautiful/smart/overall amazing person I am

One of many things I share with my mom is our love for jewelry. I’m not sure if it was by way of nature or nurture, but either way, when it comes to a penchant for pretty jewels, shiny metals, and intricate designs…my mom and I are two peas in a pod.

I consider myself very lucky because mom often tires of her extensive jewelry collection…and to her, tires is code for retires, which means I get it! Today, I’m wearing her gold starfish earrings.

I adore these earrings. Something about them takes whatever outfit I’m wearing from blah to fabulous.  I always get compliments, and they’re just so fun to wear. In fact, I already got two compliments today. So cheers to my mom…for having impeccable taste in jewelry, and sharing the wealth with me (her only daughter).
