Restricted free agent running back Michael Bush signed his 1 year $2.6 dollar tender today. The Oakland Raiders needed their bruiser back to complement Darren McFadden’s speed and playmaking ability. While Bush signed his tender, the Raiders reconstructed Stanford Routt’s already 3 year $30 million dollar deal into a 5 year $54.5 million dollar deal. The Raiders were trying to make cap space so they overpaid Routt even more paying him just about $6 million dollars less than Nnamdi Asomugha got from the Philadelphia Eagles. If I were a Raiders fan I would be happy about Michael Bush getting back, but I would be angry at the fact that they could have signed Nnamdi Asomugha and signed Stanford Routt to a deal that would probably pay him $35 million over 5 years instead of the outrageous contract he has now.
