I camped out from Wednesday afternoon until Saturday morning for standby tickets for Saturday Night Live. I was the 6th person in line, my (new) friends from Canada, Mike and Kayla, drove 13 hours to wait 73 hours in line starting at 5 am on Wednesday. They were on the Today Show. The first two people in line, Kristle and Garrett (we call him Texas) were here on business and rented a van to keep all of our things dry. We wrote “JT, bring it on down to Standbyville” in reference to one of his recurring SNL skits on it on Friday night with dry erase markers (you can see it in the photo). After buying pizza for the whole line and sending it out with the interns, around 11 PM on Friday night, Justin Timberlake came out to meet us. He stood with us and talked and took photos for a quite a bit, I’ve got to say he’s hands down the nicest celebrity I’ve ever met. I’ve loved him since I was four. I’m still in shock and I can’t get over it. He loved our “Standbyville” reference so much, he asked us to pose in front of the van and took a photo of us on his phone and ended up posting the photo of us on his Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. There are a few articles on The Today Show, E!, Perez Hilton, etc about us. It’s so incredibly awesome. We came in groups of 2 or 3 maximum and all became pretty close in those few days of sleeping in the freezing rain and snow for the possibility of getting into SNL. It seemed like hell, but it was so worth it. We got into one of the best episodes ever. Standbyville forever.
