Stydia has become the main ship focus ever since Allison died. That is where majority of the fans are focusing on. It is the only original ship left. It is absolutely not toxic so please stop trying to stretch for reasons as to why it is. It has developed wonderfully and amazingly, so don't even try and bring up the fact that Lydia used to ignore him or anything like that. Bye.

Listen to me, you have problems. It is a fucking toxic ship.

I’m still mad about this.

she said NO

Stiles, she is not yours to be devastated for. Lets not call Stiles out on this, huh? Lets focus on what his emotional levels would be and not that Lydia can save the people she cares about if she wants to.

External image

who would not be scared by that? That is not cute, or romantic, it is possessive.

He just called her a nutjob. Like, seriously? This is the “romance” that you fangirl over, and it sucks.

External image

All I have to say about this one is, fuck you stiles.

External image

Lydia, Genius IQ needs help? With Stiles’ Intelligence? Pfft. She could have saved herself and do not tell me that she could not have because that is misogynistic. She is smarter than Stiles, and only asked for his help because he was there.

External image

They were helping each other out because both of them were freaking out! It was not romatic!

External image

What are you implying Stiles? Do you really want someone treating a female character like that? Why is it okay for him to treat a male character like that?

External image

External image

Yes, she did, because when you find a dead body that is what you are supposed to do.

She can ask out whoever the fuck she wants.

Anyways. There are a ton of other reasons why Stydia is fucked up, but I do think they do have sometimes a decent friendship, but I feel really bad when saying that this ship is really misogynistic. By supporting it, that is something called sexism. Just because Stiles is a rude, misogynistic, white boy, it should not mean that he has to get everything he wants. Especially a human being, with actual fucking feelings of her own. I do not care how many times you say you love Lydia. By supporting this ship you are dehumanising her and objectifying her. If the ship was canon I might not have a huge problem with it, because Lydia would have given actual proof that she likes him, and consents to their relationship. Even though Lydia is probably better than that.

If it was up to Stiles would Scott have ever been the Alpha? How would He fix it if he had a way to stop it if Scott some how became the Alpha?

Alright, so I’ve thought a lot about this one.

Canonically, Stiles and Scott are best friends. Stiles supports Scott in pretty much all things and wants the best for him. Believes in him almost to the point of idolizing him (see the s5 argument: you have to understand that I’m not as good as you. You’re perfect and I’m only human. *sighs* at Stiles.) Part of that comes from Stiles’ confidence/emotional issues, and some of it is just the show itself putting Scott on a pedestal and refusing to call him out for things, but as far as we’re shown, Stiles will pretty much support Scott through everything, and believe in him even more than he believes himself.

But does that mean he would actually want Scott as an Alpha? My own personal issues with True Alphas aside, Stiles –– the best friend –– would probably be really proud of Scott for earning that (whatever… “earning that” actually means). Scott is also more powerful, and more able to protect himself and his own since he became an Alpha. And while there’s definitely some jealousy and abandonment on Stiles’ part as Scott started forming all these new friendships based on pack bonds (ex: Isaac, and his beta Liam) Stiles would probably internalize all of that as himself not being good enough to keep Scott’s attentions –– and after all, he lost Scott’s attention often enough to Allison even before Scott was an Alpha –– so I don’t think that would factor in.

I think what it would come down to would be whether Stiles felt Scott, and the community at large, were better off with Scott as an Alpha. If a witch came up to Stiles, and offered to make it so Scott had never become an Alpha… would Stiles say yes?

I guess if you get really technical about it, if Scott wasn’t destined to be a True Alpha, the Alpha pack would have never come to Beacon Hills. They feigned interest in Derek for the majority of the season (to the point of capturing his sister and murdering his betas *grits teeth*) but we find out toward the end of 3A that their interest has always been in Scott. And if the Alpha pack hadn’t come, then the Darach wouldn’t have come, and several people –– including Stiles’ childhood friend, Heather –– wouldn’t have died as sacrifices. The Nogitsune wouldn’t have had a way into Stiles’ mind and all of 3B wouldn’t have happened. Stiles would have been able to go about happy and content without the echoes of possession tormenting him for the rest of his life. That’s if you want to get technical. All of the negative events of season three –– through no fault of Scott’s, really –– cascaded down from Scott having the potential to become an Alpha, and the Alpha pack noticing it.

So if Stiles thought about that, would it be enough to agree with that spell, make a deal with that witch (or do a spell himself because spark!Stiles!!),and  alter his friend’s destiny? I mean… to save Heather, Erica, Boyd, and Allison? You bet he would.

(And now this is feeling very much like a plot for an epic, angsty, multichap fic…)

But I do think that Stiles loves Scott and believes in him as an Alpha, in that blind-trust way of a best friend, so I don’t think he would have stopped Scott from being an Alpha on its own merit.

That Damn Speech

Someone released another gifset with more praise of that speech in that scene. It’s like my own private torment.

I am labeling this ‘anti stiles’ even though it isn’t actually against the character. The scene in Lies of Omission was totally in-character for Stiles.   He’s always been emotionally and physically aggressive when confronted with terrible situations. He’s always neglecting his emotional health in the hope that it will go away.  He’s always held Scott to an unrealistic standard of behavior because of his own deep-set insecurities.

What drives me crazy about this scene isn’t that it happened, but rather the fandom response to it.  All the wailing and gnashing of teeth about ‘how dare Scott not ignore his own fragile emotional state and bow down to our poor little innocent woobified baby.’

As anyone who delved deeply into my blog should know, the flashpoint for my rage is always “Some of us are human.” Again, not the speech itself,  but fandom’s reaction to it.  As if it was something good.  As if it was something to praise: Stiles’ cruel and callous attempt to dump his own guilt at Scott’s feet and make it the alpha’s fault.

I wish the Stiles fandom would just take a moment to look at this from Scott’s standpoint.  Forget that it is their woobie-baby-fandom-bicycle talking and listen to it from the point of view of a person who’s lost his girlfriend Kira, failed to rescue his beta Liam and his girlfriend Hayden, and essentially given into his darker desires by probing Cory’s mind against his will.   Just try.

Stiles: Yeah, because you’re Scott McCall! You’re the True Alpha!

Scott’s POV:  Stiles is telling him he’s an arrogant sod that’s gotten everything handed to him.

Stiles:  Guess what? All of us can’t be True Alphas. Some of us have to make mistakes!

Scott’s POV:  Stiles is telling him that it doesn’t matter that you’ve let over a half-dozen teenagers be taken, mutilated, and murdered, that the girl you love is in terrible danger and gone somewhere so you can’t help her, that you invaded Corey’s mind, and that you’ve lost Liam’s trust.   Stiles is saying that being your friend is a burden that he doesn’t want any more.

Stiles: Some of us have to get out hands a little bloody sometimes.

Scott’s POV: Stiles is saying that it doesn’t matter that he has to resist the urge to kill every full moon, that he had to fight off Peter’s attempt to make him a killer, Deucalion’s attempt to make him a killer, and Kate’s attempt to make him a killer in which he nearly butchered Kira.   Stiles is saying that you have no idea what it feels like to take another person’s life or even want to.

Stiles: Some of us are human!

Scott’s POV:  Stiles is saying you’re a monster and a freak and where do you get off judging me?

And if that is not enough, Stiles turns around and has the nerve to beg Scott to believe him.   Stiles knows he just got finished telling him he’s inhuman, self-righteous, and he wishes he wasn’t his friend,  that he’s been deceiving him for weeks, but that doesn’t matter, because right now, the only thing that is important to Stiles Stilinski is that Scott exists to validate his existence.

Again, given the Nogitsune trauma, given what happened with Donovan, given his own insecurities, this is totally within character.   It’s not even an unreasonable response to the stress he is under.

What is unreasonable is to ignore the stress that Scott is under for that scene, for the fandom to actively share in Stiles’ conception of Scott as a flawless superhero (and then turn around and condemn him for being a boring and unrealistic character), and make this entire scene with all the cruel, vicious words Stiles spews completely and utterly about Scott not believing Stiles.

Yeah, yeah, it drives me mad.   But I suspect that someone on the Teen Wolf writing staff noticed that it was a bitch, because they seem to be falling over each other trying to make us think that Stiles is a good friend.

“Scott should have saved Stiles’ dad-”

“Scott is the alpha he has to save everyone-”

“Stiles was angry him putting hands on Scott didn’t mean anything-”

“Stiles’ father was dying he was angry, it doesn’t mean he’s a bad friend-”

“Scott is a bad friend for not saving Stiles’ dad-”

“Scott is a bad alpha-”

“This is the first time Stiles has mistreated Scott-”

“Stiles is a good friend-”

“Stiles

I REMEMBER ALL YALL BEING SAD AND UPSET THAT DYLAN GOT HIT BY A CAR OR SOME SHIT WHEN HES BEEN REALLY NATIVIST IN THE PAST, ALL YALL SAID “STOP MAKING EVERYTHING ABOUT RACE/COLOUR”, AND NOW THAT THE ARDEN DISCOURSE POPS UP ALL THESE ACCOUNTS WHO WERE DEFENDING RACISTS WHO WORK ON THE SHOW, FROM DYLAN OFUCKFACE AND HOLLAND RODEN, AND IAN BOHEN TO COLTON HAYNES, ARE FUCKING OFFENDED THAT WERE MAKING IT ABOUT RACE, BECAUSE THATS WHAT ITS ABOUT. IF KIRA WAS FUCKING WHITE NONE OF THIS SHIT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. THEY DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ANY POC ON THIS SHOW, AND THE SAME FUCKING PEOPLE DEFENDING THE SHITTY CAST MEMBERS FEELING BAD FOR DYLAN ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE IGNORING THE RACISM IN TEEN WOLF RIGHT NOW.

everyone wants to assume I dislike stydia because of the way that lydia treated stiles when in reality it’s about the shitty, condescending way stiles treated lydia, and just expected her to return his “love” for her, like no buddy, she doesn’t have to do anything for you.
