staffers desks

So, looks like I found a new comic shop! I’ve been lamenting the lack of comic stores in the area since I moved last year (the only ones I knew of either had very minimal selections or were 40+ minutes away), but a guy at the local library who overheard me and a friend talking about D&D mentioned a place that’s in town (and hosts game nights).

I went to check it out today, tentatively, and – it was great. Easy parking, nice, open layout, easy to find things – and the staffer working the desk was a woman in a Cap t-shirt who lamented Secret Empire with me and was generally awesome. They had “Comics are for everyone” t-shirts on sale. I set up a pull-list and I am delighted to have found a comfortable, accessible place to pick up print issues. They also had a free comics promo going on, so I picked up 2 titles for free, as well as Hawkeye Generations.

And I of course have my copy of Captain America #695 by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee reserved for next week. :D

What’s on Staffer’s Desks: A British Beauty Staple

Molton Brown has become a British (beauty) institution. I’ve spotted it regularly in fancy hotels and gorgeous gift sets over the years and I’ve always been a fan. My latest Molton Brown obsession? Their newly reformulated Nourishing body lotions—an aptly-named hydrating delight that sinks into the skin in seconds. I’ve been slathering it onto limbs after a day stuck in the AC-heavy office, before heading out with friends after work. I always keep Gingerlily on my desk. It’s enriched with tamanu nut oil and white lily extract, so it keeps skin nourished and makes the lotion smell divine. Multi-tasking at its best!”

“This Kueshi intensity care cream is amazing! I use it to soothe the skin on my arms and hands, which is prone to dermatitis. The formula is paraben free and uses all-natural ingredients like aloe, shea butter, rose hip and jojoba oil. It really works wonders, even on my extremely sensitive skin. I keep another one of these at home, too—just in case!"

“I love face scrubs because you see such a huge difference in your complexion after you use them. I’ve been using Arcona’s Cranberry Gommage sort of obsessively since it has salicylic acid and volcanic minerals. Both are super potent ingredients that help clear out clogged pores (eek, blackheads!) and slough off dead skin. Every time I use it my skin feels so smooth and looks ultra-bright!”
