My sister is in labor! She went to the hospital because she was having contractions, and while she was there, her water broke! Please pray for her that she has a safe and smooth delivery, and for the safety of her baby!

St. Gianna Beretta Molla, St. Gerard, Guardian angels, Mary our Mother, please pray for them!
What is your opinion on those who reject scientific medicine in favor of prayer to heal their illnesses. I believe followers are called Christian Scientists. I mean no offense, I'm just curious about a Catholic standpoint on the issue
Prayer is powerful, but this is not a good idea. The Church accepts scientific discovery, especially when it can be used to save lives. St. Gianna Beretta Molla, one of my favorite saints, was a physician. Here is a list of more physician saints in the Church. Miraculous healings do happen, but God also blessed scientists and physicians with their abilities, so we should take advantage of the medicine available.
When Jesus fed the thousands (Matthew 14:13-21), He asked them for the loaves and the fish first (He could have produced these out of nothing). We do our best and God does the rest according to His will.
“Everything has a particular end and obeys a law. Everything develops toward a predestined end. God has traced a way for each one of us, our vocation and a life of grace together with our physical life. The day will come when we will become aware of others around us, and when this happens we will become new persons. It is a sacred and also a tragic moment in the passage from childhood to adolescence. The problem of our future is posed at this moment… not that we must resolve this problem at fifteen years of age, but at least we are able to orient ourselves along the path to which the Lord is calling us. Both our earthly and eternal happiness depends on following our vocation very carefully. What is a vocation? It is a gift from God and therefore comes from God. If then it is a gift from God, it is up to us to do all in our power to know God’s will. We must go along that way, if God wills it, not forcing the door; when God wills it, how God wills it. All the Lord’s ways are beautiful because their end is one and the same:to save our own soul and to succeed in leading many other souls to heaven, to give glory to God.”
~ Saint Gianna Beretta Molla
yup this kind of corresponds to my life and what i have been thinking about this year… freaky…
I just learned about a little baby named Benjamin who was born prematurely on January 25th - his due date was in May. He was only 1lb at birth, and though he’s finally off his respirator, his future is definitely uncertain and he will have a very hard struggle to live for a long time. Please pray for him and for his family. St. Jude, St. Gianna Molla, St. Catherine of Siena, please pray for him!
Hey guys, I need your prayers! I have a spot on my liver they’re 99% sure is harmless and benign. But given my history of almost ovarian cancer (I had a borderline tumor removed along with my right ovary) they want to be super anal about it. I had some blood work done and next week they’re going to do an ultrasound. Pray all goes well and ask for St. Gianna Molla’s intercession. I’m hoping to avoid a biopsy or surgery. I honestly hope and pray the spot will miraculously disappear.
