squishable shiba inu

Happy Cinco de Mayo, amigos! More importantly, IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!! So in honor of those two momentous events, I’m making margaritas with squishabledotcom Shiba!

  • 1 ½ measure tequila (I like DeLeon or Patron)
  • 1 measure fresh lime juice
  • 1 measure Patron Citronge
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt for the rim
  • Lime slices for garnish

Cheers, friends! Love you all!

Quinta do Infantado Tawny Port

This is a nice entry-level tawny port to enjoy with friends, like my buddy, squishabledotcom Shiba! Golden raisins, tobacco smoke, and macerated blackberries on the nose. Golden raisins, macerated cherries, blackberries, cedar, wood, and tropical tobacco smoke with nice acidity on the palate.

2006 Bruno Giacosa Extra Brut

Enjoying some Italian sparkling wine made in the traditional Champagne method with squishabledotcom Shiba! Lots of butter and yeast on the nose along with lemon curd, crème fraîche, and baked apple. Lemon biscotti on the palate with a marzipan finish. Delicious!

2011 Jean Pla Selection Le Renard

Finally! A wine label that represents me and squishabledotcom Shiba! Funky nose of tart red fruit, boysenberries, pepper, and … wine-soaked cheese rind! Very tart on the palate with black pepper, green and black olives, then tart red fruit, and dried cherry on the finish. This is like a baby Gigondas! Funky and great stuff!

2013 Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

Discussing benchmark New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with my trusty advisor, squishabledotcom Shiba. Very herbaceous and fresh on the nose. Fresh grass, lemon, apple, green pepper. Such an elevated, lifted, and bright nose! VERY grassy on the palate with white pepper. Fresh lemon notes on the mid-palate toward the finish.

2011 ONEHOPE Pinot Noir

Here’s another wine from my friends at ONEHOPE Wine! This one is a “Pinot for Paws” where half of the profits from this wine are donated to the ASPCA toward pet adoptions! squishabledotcom Shiba and I are showing our full support for finding fur-ever homes for all our furriends. This one’s a classic California Pinot Noir. Red currants and lingonberries. Hints of cola and cilantro. Bursting with juicy red fruit.

1995 Château Pontet-Canet

I’m having a fancy paw-ty with Squishable Shiba! Starts with earth and mushrooms. Then currants, black and red raspberries. Barnyard. Pine needles. More youth on the palate with ripe raspberries and eucalyptus.

2012 Château de Trinquevedel Tavel Rosé

This ain’t no poolside rosé, folks! This one’s got some chops. It fights above its weight class. Cranberry, lingonberries, blossoms, doughnut peach, lychee, and dark rock all on the nose. Peppered wild strawberries, cranberries, lychees, and nectarines on the palate.

2010 Qupé Syrah

Hanging out with squishabledotcom Shiba (we’ve got matching grins!) and contemplating some biodynamic California Syrah! Blackberry jam, dark cherries, black pepper, wood, vanilla, and smoke on the nose. Lighter on the palate with more blackberries and added hickory notes. Would be great for grillin’ this Labor Day!

2012 Gregoletto Prosecco Il Familiare Sui Lieviti

So this is a crazy prosecco “on its lees” (you can even see the less in the bottle), which is apparently a traditional style of making prosecco in the Conegliano area of Italy. Lemon rind, old rustic bread, dough, yellow flowers, and pear on the nose. A bit simple on the palate - bread, lemon, touch of peach and flowers. Feels like it wants to be champagne, but it isn’t…

2010 Anne Boisson Bourgogne Aligoté

Aligoté is the 2nd grape of Burgundy after Chardonnay! This wine’s made from old vines of Aligoté and it’s a classic ( squishabledotcom Shiba will agree with me). Restrained on the nose with lemon creme, white flowers, and hint of Golden Delicious applies. Mouthwatering acidity on the palate with lemon, white rocks, and hints of vanilla.

2010 Caloz Cornalin du Lieu-dit Les Bernunes

Trying out some Swiss wine with Squishable Shiba! Tart and ripe cherries, forest berries, and rhubarb with some mushroom and cedar (after a fire has burnt out) on the nose. Way more tart fruit on the palate. Lots of rhubarb and mineral dark stone notes.
