My favourite quality is that it teaches you to leave behind anything that no longer serves you. It is a settling and nurturing stone that connects us with a sense of homeliness. It gives us a connection to plants and animals and guides us to learn from working in harmony with them. Cleanse with Earth, as it is a strong grounding stone. Linked to the Base/Root Chakra.
I’m back in business, working on a new zodiac project! This first one is for all of you beautiful Pisces out there. Let me know which zodiac sign I should paint next by reblogging with your sign in the tags.
We human beings are part of the whole we call “the universe,” a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening the circle of understanding and compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
“Nearly everyone feels spiritual feelings when looking at nature or the night sky. Most people explain those feelings in terms of the religion they were taught as children. Pantheism believes that those feelings are older and more basic than any traditional religion: they are a natural part of our existence as natural material beings. They are a recognition of our participation and belonging as members of nature and the universe.” ~ Paul Harrison, Elements of Pantheism
