Spanish street artist Pejac (previously featured here) just completed a beautiful new piece, entitled New Order, on the wall of an old building in his hometown of Santander, Spain. This wonderfully minimal piece of urban intervention depicts the mortar in a faded brick wall warping and transforming into branches of a tree upon which cherry blossoms have begun to bloom, providing a perch for a single bird. The artist used sand paper to help emphasize the mortar lines and create the illusion that the new branches have actually grown out in front of the wall. Both the branches and the little bird cast delicate shadows on the worn exterior of the building, to help create this uplifting optical illusion.
