The dais is supported by a lower rotunda and a central pillar, which encases the mechanical workings that the dais required to operate. The fallen segment of the outermost circlet provides a way to scale from the garden floor to the top of the dais.
While unelevated, the stone pillars retract within the dais and rest upon the floor of the rotunda.
:> I did this a week ago when I found out that Brandon Sanderson was doing a book signing around where I live, and since I owe him quite a bit for the inspiration I figured it was the least I could do in return. It doubled as bribery, too, since I had about 4 books to sign.
I started it the day before, since I’d only just found out about it, and thanks to a hurricane of coffee along with the lovely opinions of friends I managed to get it done on time and out to the printers.
Still fun stuff though. I have an idea for a finished, planned piece which will hopefully come later.
Figured I’d post some 30 minute sketches that I did for the spitpaint group on facebook; some have been posted, others have gone to pile of sadness. They’re very fun to do but entirely unforgiving, you have to decide where you’re going early on and hope it works. Going from the top, I believe the topics were: Desert Trek, Horned Helmets, Demon Dog, I don’t remember, and Giant Clock.
edit: If anyone else has Dark Souls II you should send me your username for jolly cooperation.
