speech of wonder

This one is an interview in GQ with Robert McLachlan, cinematographer on Game of Thrones talking about shooting the scene where Stannis is killed.  He didn’t like the editing choice because of Stephen’s brilliant acting:

“[Stephen Dillane] is so amazing. Exceptional. And we all love Gwendoline [Christie], of course. We originally shot… Stannis had quite a wonderful speech before she executed him that they cut out. You know—usually when you see the show and something like that happens—in the context of the whole piece, you realize, “Yeah, they did the right thing. That was a very good editorial choice.” In that particular case, I’m not so sure. It was such a moving piece. I mean, he actually was showing some serious regret and remorse, and his acting was heartbreaking. It was so good. But in the [final cut], he just told her to do her job.“

The 8 Steps of a CHARACTER ARC

You know that moment as a writer, when you’ve been charging through the story, high on how fantastic it is, and then suddenly…it all STOPS.  The next scene doesn’t form in your head. You’ve got nothing.

Behind your characters, a string of bright and captivating scenes mark the trail of that rocket of inspiration; ahead of your characters, a foggy expanse, stretching to who-knows-where, a few shapeless blobs that should be scenes floating in the nothingness. The rocket is dead, and not refueling any time soon.

Well, to everybody who’s suffered this, or is currently suffering it, there’s a way to navigate through that fog. A map. Directions and a destination.

Or, more specifically, events that form the underlying structure of the story.

This post is going to focus on one facet of story structure: character arc. Structure is something people subconsciously recognize and expect, and if the story doesn’t match those expectations, they feel cheated (though usually can’t explain why). Every good story follows a structure. So if you know structure, you’ll always know where to go next, and won’t get lost in the fog.

So here are the 8 steps of a character arc:

1) Hero: Strength, Weakness, and Need

This happens in the setup of the story, when the main character’s ordinary world is being introduced. First, the main character’s strengths must be displayed; we must be given a reason to like them, or if not exactly “like” them, empathize with them, and be fascinated by them. The reader needs to bond with the character, feel concerned about how it all turns out for them. Or in other words, feel that the main character is worth experiencing the story. There are easy traits that do this: courage, love, humor, being in danger, being unfairly treated, being highly skilled at something, having a powerful noble goal. (Courage is the one they all need. If the character doesn’t have the gumption to actively pursue what they want, they are automatically a background character.)

After this, still in the beginning of your story, let the character exhibit what needs to change. Show their weaknesses of character and self awareness.
And lastly, hint at what they NEED to learn. Sometimes this is even stated to the character, and they don’t understand it, refuse to believe it, or condemn it. Like “A Christmas Carol”, when Scrooge’s nephew says his speech about Christmas and how wonderful it is, and Scrooge replies “Bah Humbug!"

2) Desire: This is the moment when the character knows what they need to pursue, in order to obtain what they inwardly want. It is not the inciting incident or catalyst, the event in a story that disrupts the ordinary world and calls the hero on an adventure. This is a separate step entirely, occurring after that catalyst has shattered life as the main character knows it. They believe obtaining this goal will calm whatever inner turmoil or conflict they’re battling. And always, they’re not quite right.
Think of Mr Fredricksen: His goal is to get the house – a  symbolic representation of Ellie and the life he shared with her – to Paradise Falls, which he believes will heal his grief and guilt. It won’t. Once he obtains it, the achievement feels hollow. But I’m getting ahead of myself. So on we go!

3) Plan: Once in Act Two, the character is going to scramble for a plan of action. The inner want has solidified into a tangible goal, but they need a strategy to achieve it. This also spells out for the reader what to expect in that second act.

4) Conflict: What’s going to try stopping them? A hero with a goal is one thing, but to make it a story we need something that stands in the way. An obstacle. A force of opposition. If we didn’t have obstacles, books would be as interesting as "Harry Potter and the Trip to the Grocery Store.” (Although honestly, I’d probably read that.) After the catalyst has changed everything, after the character crosses the threshold into Act Two, everything from here on out will be laden with conflict. This is usually when enemies, or more accurately forces of opposition, begin to appear. Everything is accumulating to complicate the main character’s pathway to achieving what they want. The forces of opposition come from not only the villains, but from the actions that have to be taken to achieve the desire. Whatever this action is, it’s exactly what the main character is not suited to do, an action that pressures their flaws, exposes them to exactly what they need to become but can’t right now.

Like Stitch being forced to be the family dog. He’s not suited to this task.

5) Battle: The forces of opposition are amping up, growing stronger, fighting with greater intensity. The main character is taking the punches and working around them, relentlessly plowing forward. Hero and allies are usually punching back too.

6) Midpoint: This is the event where they first encounter what they need to learn, what they need to become. Something happens that forces them to behave in this new, life-saving way. But once they’ve seen it, they don’t know what to do with this knowledge.

7) Dark Night, Revelation, Choice:
This is always the darkest point in the story, where all seems lost, and death – of a literal or spiritual nature – is in the air. And in this moment, something usually happens that makes the main character wake up to what is wrong, and what they need. More often than not, this revelation will arrive from the “love story” or relationship of the plot, and will be the thing that helps them pull themselves out of despair and see the light. And once this is uncovered, once the revelation of the truth about themselves is recognized, they are faced with a choice. Of course, they’ve been faced with choices in every beat of every scene, but this is the big choice that is going to determine if their story has a happy ending or a tragic one. The choice is this: “You are being faced the truth that you need to heal. Are you going to choose what you need, let your old self die, and become someone better?” And always, always, always this is a hard choice. The revelation must be significant to them. And it’s never easy. It can’t be. We don’t write stories about heroes who make easy choices. Villains have it easy. Are you going to adopt this new way of living, adopt this truth, and let your old self die? Or are you going to stay the way you are (which feels safer and is much less challenging) but end up stuck in a sort of living death? Most of the time, of course, they choose the right thing.

This moment is usually always the saddest scene in the thing. Like this scene with Stitch.

8) New Life: This is their changed life. After experiencing the trials of the story, after realizing what they need and choosing to be reborn, they are going to be different people – and are going to live a different life. This is what follows the statement “And every day after …” What has changed? Show the audience how things are different, how things are better, because they want to see that. This is the resolution, the wrapping up of everything we’ve been through with the main character, and having this in the story is often what gives that feeling of satisfaction after seeing a really well-told story.

So! To show off how this works, I’ve chosen the character arc of Carl from Up.

1) Hero: Strengths, Weakness, Need

Strengths: Reasons to like Carl are packed into that heartbreaking opening sequence. By the end of it, we love him, love Ellie, and are crying our eyes out.

Weaknesses: Now Carl is curmudgeonly, grumpy, cold, and won’t pay attention to a living soul. He’s also plagued by grief, regret, guilt, and loneliness. (Which we are all 100% okay with, because we already like him.)

Need: He needs Russel. The statement of what he needs to learn isn’t outright said (as it will be later) but Russel represents it.

Step Two: The catalyst was when a truck knocked down Ellie’s mailbox, Carl hit a construction worker in the head with his cane, and for this a judge declares him a public menace and orders him to go to Shady Oaks Retirement Village. The DESIRE is this moment.

Carl escapes in a flying house, thousands of balloons lifting him skyward. He even says the desire of the whole story out loud, “So long boys! I’ll send you a postcard from Paradise Falls!” The tangible goal is “live out the rest of his days in his and Ellie’s house, on the edge of Paradise Falls, South America.” (“It’s like America … but South.”)

Step Three: The plan and the conflict overlap, as they are wont to do. We have a scene where Carl is unfurling sails, setting a compass, and settling back in his chair for a smooth journey. But later on, after some conflict has arrived, we have Russel figuring out how to actually make it there. And after even more conflict has arrived, we have him telling Russel “We’re going to walk to the falls quickly and quietly, with no rap music or flash-dancing.”

Step Four: The moment he settles back into his armchair, high above the city, and here’s a knock on the front door, nothing is going to be easy for Carl. First, we have opposition in the form of Russel. Then we have a storm. Then the house lands miles away from the Falls, so they’ll have to walk it. Then we have Kevin, the giant bird. Then we have Dug. Which means they’re also being chased by a legion of talking dogs. Which brings us to Muntz, the main villain, and Carl’s shadow – the representation of Carl’s flaws, and the consequences of refusing to let go of the past.

Step Five: This is the trek to the Falls. It’s also the battle with every complication that arises. And it’s also exactly what Carl is not suited to do. He’s a curmudgeonly old guy, bent on living out the rest of his life alone. Well, the story says “Nope, Carl, that’s not how it’s going to be” and promptly gives him a surrogate grandson to take care of, a dog who adores him, and even a giant mythical bird. And he has to lead them all, if he’s going to get to the Falls.

Step Six: The moment when Russel invades Carl’s heart. Which is what he needs, but he doesn’t understand. (I have the scene beated out in the previous post.)

Step Seven: Finally, he gives in to the worst of himself and chooses his goal of living in his broken house on the edge of Paradise Falls. But somehow this doesn’t feel like victory. He’s still alone, next to Ellie’s empty chair, and she is still beyond his reach.

He picks up her adventure book, and leafs through the photographs, missing her; he pauses on the page scrawled with the words “Stuff I’m Going To Do”, lets his hand rest on it, grief and regret overwhelming him. He begins to close the book, and the page shifts … revealing the edge of another picture. Surprised, he turns the page. It’s their wedding picture.

Ellie added picture after picture of their happy marriage, the whole wonderful life they shared, all the things she did. And on the bottom of the last page is her last message to him: “Thanks for the adventure! Now go have a new one! Love, Ellie.” Exactly what Carl needs. He doesn’t need to be guilty, he doesn’t need to regret the past. The past was beautiful, and she will never truly leave him.

Choice: So, Carl can make the choice to throw everything out of the house to go save Russel.

New Life: Sitting on a curb, eating ice cream with Russel.

In the credits, we see a whole new life – or new adventure – with Carl, Russel, Dug, and even a bunch of new puppies.

So, it’s actually pretty simple. And once again, it’s fun to develop your own stories like this, but it’s surprisingly fun to analyze movies and books with it too. It improves your storytelling ability, I’ve found. Practice makes perfect.

I hope this post helps somebody out. It’ll make the ten times I cried while writing it, while watching scenes from Up, worth it.

I’m kind of making some stuff up to fit what I want to do with this prompt

You left the Salvatore house, sure that no one noticed at all. They were to preoccupied to notice you anyway. They cared for a while, when you and Caroline were turned, well, Stefan did. But more and more happened, and it was like you faded away. You had more control over your Vampirism than Caroline, but she was stronger so she was included more in the problems you were all facing, everyone tried to push you out, thinking you couldn’t handle it, so they left you alone.

You tried to explain to them you could help, Matt could why couldn’t you? You figured it was because no one understood you. You had trouble being clear with your thoughts, no one could keep up with them. Hell, you barely could sometimes.

You and Carolines relationship was strained these days. You two use to be so close, you were twins after all. Though, not identical. You wish you were sometimes, Caroline was so beautiful, you figured that was why Klaus was interested in her. Why did you care anyway? Klaus was the bad guy wasn’t he? Caroline couldn’t care about him any less. Why didn’t he like you? Why didn’t anyone like you? You use to cry over this all the time, but now, you were so use to it, you no longer wasted your tears on those who didn’t care about you.

Before you knew it, you had walked all the way home. Walking in you call out “I’m home mom!” hearing no response you figured she was at work. You walked up the stairs and went into your room. Your eyes immediately going to the box on your bed. Walking over you saw an invitation to the Mikaelsons ball, you picked it up ready to take it to Carolines room, Klaus must have gotten her a gift or something, and thought this was her room.

Stopping before you left your room, you looked back down at the box, you wanted to know what was in it. “It was on my bed. If she gets mad at me for opening it, it’s not my fault.” you said out loud to yourself.

Turning around you put the box back on your bed. You took the envelope, opening it looking at the invitation you turn it over. You couldn’t believe what was on the back. “Save me a dance y/n. Fondly, Klaus” he wasn’t serious was he? He invited you and not Caroline? He must be up to something. Glancing at the box you slowly took the lid off gasping at what was in the box. A beautiful red sparkling gown. You touched it gently feeling the fabric.

Alright. A certain Anonymous from HTTYD Valhalla just sent me an edit of this comic I made.

I can’t. I JUST LOVE THIS!!! Thank youu (also for letting me share this c:)!

Anon’s edit made me have an idea:
Would you guys like wordless comics - as in, you fill out the speech bubbles yourself? I wonder how that would go. #midnight thoughts :D

anonymous asked:

everyone is jumping on the YD is supreme evil boat again but it honestly reminds me of room for ruby when navy said the rubies were mean to her yet they've been shown to be rly close. i can't believe for a second that YD's emotions in what's the use of feeling blue were fake

right, that would be strange. nothing about her feelings come off as fake. her behavior in the trial reads as someone who wants rose gone already, who doesn’t want to spend another minute in her grief. she’s absolutely miserable with the current situation, scornful of the earth and what it did. yes, she’s angry at the zircon’s insolence, but not for a second does she look guilty or nervous. she looks like she doesn’t even want to consider anyone but rose being pink’s murderer, so she lashes out. “this is pointless!” felt very genuine, because right now she’s just frustrated

i’ve seen people worry that we’ll get ~too many twists, but that’s… not really how it works. what matters is using foreshadowing, motive, emotion and buildup right. getting the audience to ask questions, while avoiding cliches or making the actual truth random. i would say you’re supposed to feel like you’re on to something, but don’t have all the information yet. it’s no coincidence that both rose and zircon’s scenario are presented as tell-don’t-show, while certain elements hang in the air, troubling but not yet addressed: why does pearl react like that? how did rose appear out of nowhere? why does she have a sword specifically designed to cut through a gem’s physical form, but never the gem? during zircon’s entire speech, i was wondering where pink pearl was…

zircon’s own trail of thoughts leads her to suspect one of the diamonds, but that’s because her assumption is that it must have been a coverup. my main takeaway isn’t that rose wasn’t involved, it was that her sword very much played a part, but the how and outcome are far different than we’ve been led to believe. rose had many secrets, and i don’t believe for a second that she had nothing to do with this.

ultimately, you wanna know what knowing more than your peers look like? don’t look to yellow diamond - look to pearl. whatever happened, it’s not as simple as yellow did it Cause Evil, because pearl would have no problem divulging that.

I don’t understand where this fandom mentality comes from that everyone has to like all the characters within a book/series/movie? And people start fighting you if you don’t like one character to the same extent as they do?

Like, be happy that people enjoy their favourite character (or ship). That they are so inspired by them that they write fanfic, draw fanart or develop headcanons for them. They share their love and you can do the same with your favourite characters - that’s the point of fandom.

But attacking other fans because they don’t include every single character for reasons that they are entirely their own? It doesn’t matter if you agree or not. Everyone has preferences and they are allowed to have them.

Seriously, since “Winter” was released, this fandom has become a minefield.
And I don’t mean that the character of Winter changed it, but it’s the tone of the discussions. It’s not so much about respectful, informative discussions anymore. It’s gotten nasty with a few people insulting and bullying other fans for their preferences with a self-righteousness that is seriously uncalled for.

Because now, if you don’t include a certain character, you are called out for whatever inane reason. I once got the question once why I didn’t include a certain ship for a story idea I had. Why is that any of their concern? It’s my story idea, either you like it or not but I’m not playing character bingo and include everyone just because the fandom thinks I have to because they are in the original story. That’s what fanfic is for, to expand on the characters you love, maybe all of them or just one of them, but that isn’t anyone’s business. If I see a story tagged with Character X, I’m not asking the author, “hey, where’s Character Y?” That story isn’t for me, so I move on to stories that are.

Because here’s the thing: No one owes you anything.

No one has to write a fic you enjoy.

No one has to draw a fanart that you can reblog.

No one has to spend their time of the day on characters they don’t like just because they feel pressured to do so.

But: Everyone deserves respect. Or, at least, just because someone has a different opinion, it doesn’t give you the right to insult them. Opinions are not facts.

You don’t have to agree with someone but it’s not too much to ask to treat them with a minimum of respect. Especially over something as personal and random as favourite characters/ships.

For next year, I do hope we leave this kind of mentality behind us, so people can resume creating content they enjoy for people who appreciate it, without being attacked for not doing it as some people might see fit. I’m not naive, I know there will always be drama and shipper wars or whatever. But this year, it was no fun being in the TLC fandom. And I say this especially in regard to the TLC shipweeks.

The creators of shipweeks are putting a lot of effort into it. The fans are putting a lot of effort into their work, too. So, if you are not happy that your character/ship/brotp isn’t as included as much as you would like, create your own content. Spread the love. But respect other people’s choices.

And for every other fan: Just have lots of fun with TLC, with your favourite characters and ships and don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t allowed to.

anonymous asked:

Hi, can I get a headcanon where the RFA gang (+ minior trio) were friends first with MC before they start dropping clues that they want to be in a romantic relationship with MC but MC is so innocently oblivious to it all?

I love!! This request!! Ahh, becoming friends, slowly - bit by bit - falling into the bottomless pit of love and then desperately trying to convey your feelings only to be met with a veritable wall of unrepentant cluelessness…

Let’s start with Yoosung, shall we?

Yoosung

  • you are Yoosung’s video game buddy and boy howdy does he have a crush on YOU
  • The only way he knows how to express it tho is through the world of LOLOL so he acts SUPER CUTESY to you there. Like quasi-rping your husband cutesy.
  • “This is my waifu =^-^=“, jokes like that, and the two of you own a house together in LOLOL so you’re all domestic in decorating it.
  • He also acts super protective of you. Like, if you’re low on health he’ll heal you if he can, and he’ll get really into defending you if you’re in trouble
  • he sends you ingame jewelry and items and stuff. “Oh, I thought this would look cute on your character!” “You need these stats, right?” etc etc.
  • you are oblivious
  • You of course give back a much as you can - you also like showering Yoosung with stuff and appreciation.
  • Everyone thinks you’re e-dating.
  • At some point, someone is like, “LMAO you know MC is probably a dude in RL right”
  • and he’s like “HAH NO I’VE SEEN HER IRL AND SHE’S SUPER CUTE”
  • (you blush)
  • He kind of hopes you’ll GET IT when he asks you if you want to get ingame married
  • You say yes because of the benefits (new hairstyles, emotes, clothes, and the ability to teleport to each other? HECK YEAH)
  • So Yoosung has literally internet married you but still not actually gotten a date.
  • Okay, time to step up his game. He starts mailing you…
  • FLOWERS. Digital flowers. He sends tons of them to your inbox.
  • (Yoosung wtf)
  • You’re still like “oh haha awwhhh how cute” and Yoosung finally, FINALLY works up the courage to actually say it bluntly.
  • He does it on Valentine’s Day where he asks you on a date. A real date. Like with real feelings.
  • PLEASE BE MY REAL LIFE GIRLFRIEND

Zen

  • holy shit how many ways can this dude say “I am super into you” without actually saying “I am super into you please DATE ME”
  • seriously. selfies 24/7, constant compliments, invites you to every show
  • “You’re so cute I can hardly stand it….”
  • you think he’s like that to everyone. like, he sort of is… but you’ve been friends for so long. why would he be flirting with you now? It must be a joke.
  • definitely a joke
  • (you fan yourself: it is definitely a joke)
  • he starts asking you to help him practice lines but ONLY for couples
  • He starts calling you his “princess” and “babe” and the names of whatever leading lady you’re “playing”
  • He asks you for selfies all the time too
  • You say you got a new top? “SHOW ME”
  • New necklace? “SHOW ME”
  • He’s so supportive and always rooting for you. Whenever you have some public thing to do (like a presentation or a speech or something) HE’S RIGHT THERE IN THE FRONT ROW
  • Like it is SO OBVIOUS he is nuts for you and you’re just dense.
  • He’s kind of thinking that he’s being so obvious that you must not like him because?? How could you not realize?
  • HE GIVES YOU FLOWERS AND CHOCOLATES FOR VALENTINES DAY FOR PETE’S SAKE
  • U JUST THINK HE FEELS SORRY FOR YOU
  • You hear him turn down someone who just asked him out by saying “I’m sorry, I like someone else”
  • and you’re like WHO
  • SPILL THE DIRT
  • he won’t tell you because DUH but you keep pressing because!!! you have to know!!!
  • After this continues for a good long while he’s just like IT’S YOU
  • IT’S YOU OKAY
  • THE PERSON I LIKE IS YOU
  • “…pffft hhaaa yea right who is it really”
  • “YOU. YOU. YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUU!!!!!!!!!”

(more under the cut!)

Jerome x Reader: Pretty Jealous Psycho

sorry for the repost, again. please, let me know if it’s alright, if it’s not then i’ll delete it and try to write something else.

[Y/N] [Y/L/N] was a crazy bitch. And she was one of The Maniax.

She met them at Arkham, obviously.

[Y/N] was reading an old fashion magazine. She could tell it was 7 years old, not only by a date but also by the clothes. Why would they even wear those stuff back then? It was so wrong.

She didn’t want to caught any attention, she may be a sociopath but she had her standards. She knew she was better than all these people.

So as she continued to read she heard a shy voice. “Hi..”

And that’s how she met Arnold Dobbins A.K.A a total sweetheart.

He didn’t understand many things but he was nice to talk to. So she decided to stick with him.

He introduced her to his “friends”, Robert Greenwood and Aaron Helzinger. They were both pretty cool, Greenwood tried to get to her at first but she proved she can defend herself. that was enough for him.

But there was this other guy, Richard Sionis. He really got on her nerves. He thought he’s better than everyone because of his money.

That’s not [Y/N] being a hypocrite. She thought she’s better than everyone just because. Not because she had money. That was different.

[Y/N] was a pretty girl so she wouldn’t have a problem with getting something she wanted, from him. She even considered that when she wanted a lipstick, she was so tired of those monotone stripes, and everybody knew he could get her something like that.

But she didn’t even try to get on his good terms, because of Barbara.

She wasn’t that bad in her opinion, she could talk to her sometimes like normal girls would do, but deep down [Y/N] didn’t want to trust her.

But there was still one, not mentioned person.

Jerome Motherfucking Valeska.

He flirted with [Y/N] (or like he’d say Gorgeous) non stop but on the other hand he flirted with every girl, so she shouldn’t feel so special.

As she thought about it more and more, [Y/N] noticed he’s doing it mostly with her. She was glad because there was one thing she truly hated about herself.

The jealousy.

Yes, she could admit it to herself but only to herself.

It’s not like she was in love with him or something but that’s just how [Y/N] was. She was jealous.

[Y/N] was in her room in Theo Galavan’s penthouse.

She was listening to her favourite songs and couldn’t help but sing along quietly. She was a good singer.

[Y/N] laid on her bed as she looked at the lipsticks Theo got her. Finally. And they were waterproof, nice.

She picked the bloody red one and stood up to apply it.

Standing before a mirror, with one lip already red she heard a knock.

“Who’s that?”

“It’s me Arnold. Can I come in, [Y/N]?”

“Go ahead.” She finished the other lip and put down the lipstick and turned around to smile at her friend. “Hi, what’s up?”

“You look pretty, [Y/N].” He smiled gently.

She chuckled. “Thanks, Arny.”

They stood in silence. “So..? What’s up?”

“Ah right! Come downstairs, there’s a new member of our gang! And she’s a girl too!”

“What..” She couldn’t finish because of him dragging her out of the room.

What she saw before her was weird. All The Maniax, Tabitha, Theo and unfamiliar girl. In [Y/N]’s opinion she had a face that basically asked to be punched. Hard.

Geez, she didn’t even hear this girl spoke and she already wanted to hurt her. Is that a new record?

“[Y/N], I’m glad you came to join us. Now, with everybody here, I’m happy to introduce a new Maniax member, my niece, Silver.” The girl had a fake smile on her face and looked at Jerome, fluttering eyelashes at him.

‘What. A. Bitch.’

“Silver’s been here before, obviously but she doesn’t know you and which room is whose, so any volunteers to show her around?”

‘No, Jerome. Don’t do it. Just don’t. Please. Let your personality of a showman die, I beg of you.’

“I can do that.”

‘Why??!!!?!?!!?!’

Of course Jerome was grinning but the look on that bitch’s face. So smug… She is going to regret it.

She knew Jerome wasn’t hers but she really wanted to change that! That slut can’t mess it up for her!

[Y/N] was angry at herself because she knew jealousy mirrored on her face. She could tell by Silver’s look. Oh, and Jerome’s because he fucking smirked at her.

“Erm, is that all? ‘Cause I’d like to go to my room now.”

“Yes, Dear, that’s all.”

So she went to her room.

She didn’t want to see this Silver girl walking everywhere with Jerome with his arm wrapped around her. She laid on a bed and watched her favourite cartoon.

‘I wish I could just live in this cartoon and have a happy life with [whoever you want]. I wouldn’t have to be jealous because he/she/it would pay attention only to me!’

She heard a knock and voice outside her door.

“And that’s [Y/N]’s room. I like to call her Puddin’ ‘cause she’s sweet. But careful she’s also dangerous, she wasn’t in Arkham because of nothing, Darling.” Giggling was present.

Ugh. It was such a wonderful speech but he just had to ruin it with that “Darling”

Yup, [Y/N] was still jealous.

“[Y/N], you there? Can we come in?” Another knock.

“If you need to..” She mumbled under her breath.

She heard them come in.

“What do you want?” She didn’t even look at them, still at the screen.

She was mad because she noticed how much Jerome was enjoying it. Her jealousy amused him. And that was the worst thing because secretly she was sensitive. She didn’t show it, but still.

“Oh ya know, just showing this pretty girl around.” Ew, did he really think she’s pretty?

[Y/N]  stood up. “Oh yeah, so, you showed her here, just stay away from this room, okay, bye now.” And she shut the door in their faces.

“What was that?” She heard an annoying voice on the other side of the door.

“I don’t know, she’s probably… tired.”

[Y/N] cried in her pillow in anger.

She didn’t leave her room in a very long time now. She had her own bathroom anyway. She also wasn’t there when they ate. She was too sad, too angry and too jealous to be hungry. She was lying on her stomach, face in a pillow. She didn’t hear a knock and someone coming in because of the music.

“Hey, Doll..” It was Jerome. She didn’t move.

She felt the bed sinking in and a hand on her back. “Baby, don’t be like that.” Like what?!

“Don’t do this to me, [Y/N].. I’m worried.”

I’m doing something to you? Do you even hear yourself?!” She choked out tears. It was hard for her, she was upset.  She raised herself to a sitting position, her face still a little red.

“There, there, doll. No need to cry.” He hugged her, the way her face was in his chest.

“Now, do you mind telling me why you’re so upset?”

“Don’t act like you don’t know it. I see how you’re enjoying it.”

“[Y/N]. Look at me. I had absolutely no idea that it was so serious to you. I’m sorry. I thought we were just teasing each other. You know you’re my favourite. You always will be.” He smiled gently at her and leaned in towards her.

“I am your favourite..? Isn’t Silver prettier?” She looked deep in his honest eyes as she felt a hot breath tickling her face.

“Of course. She may be a stereotype of pretty but you, Honey, are gorgeous. Not only to me. And I love you.” He closed the distance between them.

They broke apart to breathe. “I love you too, Jerome..”

And they kissed again, even more passionately, with a love song playing in the background.
