speaking of under pressure

Nico coming out to Hazel

Art + Fic because I’ve had this small fic sitting around in my drafts for awhile and felt like publishing it. Thanks to everyone who came to my stream!! Drawing this one was a lot of fun.

“Yeah, I uh…” Nico’s gaze was faraway, and he began to twist at the ring on his index finger. Nico sighed and looked away. “Forget it.”

Hazel stuck out her lower lip. “Nico, what’s been eating at you?” She murmured tenderly. Hazel took a step closer to her brother, and Nico shuffled his feet in response. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed you disappearing again.” She blinked slowly, not looking away from Nico’s dark, hollow eyes. He wouldn’t meet Hazel’s gaze. “C'mon, sit down at least.” She reached out and gave a little tug to Nico’s wrist.

They sat down at the base of a tree and gazed out at Camp Half-Blood’s morning-bustling troopers. They were far enough away, though, that they couldn’t hear more than an occasional pegasus whinny from the stables or giggle of the naiads in the nearby lake. Nico stayed quiet, and the two siblings sat in silence, listening to the stream.

Hazel shuffled through the river rocks at their feet and handed Nico a smooth, flat one that. “Here, watch me.”

Nico tossed his gaze over at Hazel, then at the rock before taking it from her hands. He followed Hazel’s lead when she threw the stone into the river, except Nico managed to skipped his three times.

“If there’s… Something you want to talk about, I’m all ears.” Hazel spoke quietly.

WE DID IT

👏 First of all, I would like to congratulate PSG again for the well fought match. Thank you for pushing us and motivating us. And Good luck for the rest of the season.

💫💫 Second, last night’s match was a true demonstration that FAITH is the last thing to be lost.

☠☠☠Third, so many talks about Barça winning last night was again because of the referee.. Excuse me.. but have you been watching European football lately?!

Let me tell you about how refs have helped us, how about the fact that PSG players kept tripping, grabbing them, the brutality of the challenges at some points..but nothing, they committed 25 fouls and got off with 5 yellow cards. Barça committed 16 and got the same amount. 🙄🙄

Then there’s the fact of the penalty on Neymar that was not given, on the opposite side, there was the Masche handball incident. Also not recognized.
The fact of the matter is, there were plenty of refereeing mistakes yesterday, on both ends. For and against BOTH TEAMS. So maybe try to look at something else. 👎

Speaking of something else,

THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE Barça put on PSG throughout the entire match. Suffocating them and making them push back and close up. ⚠⚠⚠⚠
To say that Barça did not deserve to end the first half with a 4-0 result is just unfair. It was a full on domination in attack.⏩⏩⏩⏩

The midfield once again did an impeccable job at cutting out the threats from the PSG barely there counter-attacks. The Defense was in a comfortable position because of that. 👌👌👌👌

Speaking of, how CALM was Sergio Busquets
under that pressure from PSG players.. slowly and smoothly handling the ball.. just wow. No nerves lost. Ice cold nerves❄⭐❄

About that pressure,

When PSG scored.. that lapse, that moment of lost focus.. that was a BLOW in every meaning.
1. A blow to the confidence of the team going from the 3-0 and only needing 2 goals to go through to the 3-1 and the need to score 3 more.. in less than 30 minutes.
2. A blow to the fans morale..
Or so they thought. 😏
But it was not the case. The team Fought. They had nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to win. And they shook it off and went on with even more drive and desire. 💪💪

Did I say desire,

Desire to win.. Marc-Andre ter Stegen with that SAVE. Talk about a key moment!!🗝🔑 That moment could have meant a 3-2 .. A second goal from PSG that would have ended everything but Marc said Nah. 🚫👐
Another confidence boost. Things up the field were okay. Now focus on making them stay in their half. Kill them with that pressure. 🔫

The King of the night. The one who kept the faith. The boy who believed and kept telling us to believe as well… Neymar.. or should I say Reymar. THE BOY WAS ON FIRE!🔥🔥 Stellar! Unstoppable even though they tried..Oh boy did they try. It was his night 👑By far the best match he has played for Barça.

Last night also showed us something else.. Lionel Messi’s LOVE for this Club. His frustration all poured into that shot. The way he celebrated Sergi’s goal. People still doubt he’s renewing. Calm down guys. He will. 🙌🙌🙌

Another proof was one of dedication. SERGI ROBERTO CARNICER, like Denis said, “From La Masia into History” like all his former teammates said.. it’s his relentless work and dedication and never say die spirit that got him here. Well deserved Sergi. WELL DESERVED. 👏👍👌

Also SAMUEL UMBOSSTITI. 💪💪

YESTERDAY WAS A MERIT OF TEAM WORK.
OF A TEAM WANTING TO SHAKE OFF THE IMAGE THEY LEFT IN PARIS.
A TEAM WANTING TO PROVE THAT THAT MATCH WAS NOT UP TO THEIR LEVEL.
A LEVEL THEY HAVE HELD SO HIGH THAT A CL KO IN ROUND OF 16, HELL EVEN IN ¼ FINALS WAS A FAILURE.

The entire team showed up and held their own and I thank them for it.

HISTORY WAS MADE!

THANK YOU FC BARCELONA FOR MAKING US BELIEVE.

THANK YOU FOR PROVING THAT WORK, DEDICATION, HEART, FAITH, SACRIFICE, COURAGE ARE WHAT IT TAKES TO GET THINGS DONE.

AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE CAMP NOU FOR SHOWING UP AS WELL.

TOTS AMB L’EQUIP

Congratulations Cules, this is far from over.

Favorite Location: The Dupain-Cheng Bakery

It’s just such a beautiful, gorgeous place, and honestly, I would kill to live there. Marinette’s little balcony is gorgeous and it would be so awesome to be able to go up there at night and watch the sky and drink a nice hot cup of cocoa.

The Joker x Reader - “Gone”

Losing your daughter was a nightmare. Nothing compares to the horrible feeling of not having her around anymore. To say your relationship with The Joker is under pressure would be an understatement.

You barely speak to each other anymore. There are days when the only question you ask is if he wants coffee and that’s it. Most of the times, J doesn’t even bother to answer, just nods a yes or a no.

So much silence without her…Numbed by sorrow and misery, you don’t even know how you make it from one week to another. You still sleep in the same bed with the Joker, keeping your distance. He can barely tolerate your presence also. Confined to the prison of your grief, everything that kept both of you together seems nothing but a distant remembrance.

When you start crying at night, J just leaves without a word. He likes to go and sleep in her room, not wanting to hear your sobbing. You never go to your daughter’s bedroom in the same time.

There are moments you feel your heart is going to shatter to pieces so you sneak into her chamber, searching around for that something you are aware you won’t find. She’s not there anymore and it hits you so hard you have to collapse on the small bed, hugging her favorite teddy bear, crying your eyes out until you fall asleep.

*****************

It’s raining like crazy.

Emma used to get scared by thunder and ran into the master bedroom, wanting to sleep in between her parents. You can almost hear her little steps on the hardwood floor. The Joker always objected but never chased her away. He was actually the first one to soothe her and you let him have it; you knew his child was one of the few distractions he would indulge.

You glare at the blank space in between you; so much distance and nothing to fill the emptiness with. J is laying there on his back, covering his face with his right arm. You know he’s not sleeping, probably tormented by the same memories as you are.

“I miss my baby…” you whisper and he doesn’t reply. You sigh, wishing she was still with you. “Do you remember when she was born?” you continue. “Didn’t fuss too much…”

No reaction.

You crawl on his side, getting on top of him, take your boy-shorts and t-shirt off, pulling down his boxers in the process.

There’s no objection.

You slowly move on top of him, softly moaning as he holds tightly to your hips, trying to hold in his groans. It’s just been so long.

Mindless, desperate sex because you want to feel something…anything. J didn’t push you away which means he apparently shares the same perspective. Afterwards, your return to your side, squeezing one of the pillow to your chest; you didn’t even kiss him and he didn’t seem to care.

*****************

The gun shot wakes you up and you instantly jump out of bed, alarmed, not realizing what’s going on. You’re so groggy you stumble on the blanket that ended up on the floor earlier and almost fall on your knees. Another gun shot. It’s definitely coming from upstairs.

“ J ?” you raise your voice and rush to the upper story, scared to death. “J ?” When you barge into her room, The Joker is there, sitting on her bed with the gun in his lap. You’re shaking so badly you have to let yourself slide down against the wall, gasping for air. “Jesus, I thought…” you can’t even finish while you wipe the cold sweat from your forehead, relieved.

“You’re not that lucky,” he snarls, staring you down.

“Lucky?! How would be losing you too considered lucky, hm?” you struggle to regain your self-control, jittery from the incident. “What…what are you shooting at?”

“I don’t know,” the honest response discloses the truth.

“Don’t do this to me again…” you beg, wrapping your arms around your knees in a faded effort to ease the heartache.

“Ooohh, let me guess: you still care?” J grins, chuckling in such a manner it makes you wince:

“Of course I care…”

“Get out of here, I want to be alone!” he suddenly snaps, pointing out towards the door.

Such a dreadful feeling hanging on your shoulders, such a burden…and it will never vanish.

“She was my little girl too…” you gulp, dismissing his demand. “You’re not the only one that suffers…” you sniffle, not moving when his eyes burn with resentment. You are finally on your feet again and step towards him.

“Don’t!” he barks. “Get out!”

“No…” and the gun being pointed at you doesn’t make you flinch.

”I said get out!!!” The safety clicks and you stop in front of him, waiting. “Are you deaf?!  I don’t want you in here!” J shouts without success.

You just prepare for whatever outcome may happen.

“I don’t blame you…” you reach you hand to lower his. “I really don’t…You protected her, there is nothing else you could have done…”

“Shut up…” he growls, not wanting to hear about it.

“It wasn’t you fault…It really wasn’t…” you utter in low voice, speaking your mind. The Joker pants, fighting against the emotions building up inside of him and finally allows you to take his gun.

“Get out…” he repeats and you grant his wish, taking the pistol with you. “I hate you for giving me a daughter I couldn’t keep ! Why don’t you want me to have her back?” he lashes out, unable to keep it in.

“She was my baby too and we can’t have her back…” J distinguishes your hurtful response before you close the door.

Your child’s death wasn’t his fault. You were out of town and J took her with him to one of the hideouts since he had important business to take care of. His new acquisition of guns, explosives and ammunition needed to be sorted out and moved to other locations. While the henchmen worked on packaging and sealing the boxes, one of the grenades was accidentally set off and triggered a tremendous chain reaction. At that moment, The Joker and your daughter were in the office, but didn’t make it any better. He had time to shield her with his body before he lost consciousness. The strong blast nearly leveled the entire building.

J was severely injured, took him two month to recover. That’s why he lost hearing in his left ear and the deep scar going across his right eye makes it difficult to see from time to time: his vision gets blurry and gives him horrible migraines. A corrective eye surgery was suggested, but he didn’t follow up on it.

Emma sustained critical traumatic injuries and didn’t survive. She was only 5.

You take a sit on the stairs, stashing the gun to the side of the railing, bawling and shivering from anxiety. My God, how terrified you were for those few long moments you believed you’ll find him dead upstairs! It’s just like something awoken inside of you, buried and ignored for months, fighting to get to the surface at any cost.

One hour passes by and you gather your strength to get up again and return to her bedroom to check up on him. J fell asleep on the bed, curled up on top of the blankets. He senses you snuggling behind him, your arms holding his waist and he squirms, preparing to flee.

“Don’t go…”you plead with shaky voice. “Please stay…”

The Joker takes a deep breath, debating on your request.

“I really miss my baby…and I miss you…I’m so alone…Please stay…Just this time…Yes?…” and you kiss the back of his neck, hoping he will listen to your plea. “I want us to be together in here for once…Please stay…It’s just so hard…and it hurts…”

J feels your tears on his skin and shifts so he can face you.

“You know, Princess…” (you whimper since he didn’t call you any names in forever) ”…this is the most we talked in ages,” he justly mentions, frowning.

“Yes it is…” you sniffle, grateful he’s still there and caress his cheek.

“You could’ve at least thanked me for the good time I gave you; I’m not a piece of meat, you know?” he mutters, kissing your forehead and you smile through tears, hugging him as tight as you can.

“I love you,” the words follow and it comforts him in a way he didn’t think possible. Last time you told him was months ago. “ I love you.” You kiss him, savoring his taste and how soft his lips are. “I want to sleep here until morning, OK?”

The Joker grumbles something that sounds as an approval, exhausted from the bad night that turned out…bearable in the end.

“Did you even read through the folder?” he points his finger towards the binder that is always on her playing table.

“I did…” you take a deep breath, uneasy. “Over and over again…but you know my opinion about the whole thing…”

Last time you two kind of have a conversation was 6 months ago; it was about that and it ended up in a terrible fight. The portfolio is about “Lenixx Inc. – Institute of Research & Development of Human Genome.” They had a strong start on the genetics market, the most hyped and talked about cloning program; so many successes and so many failures also. The failure part is the one that worries you.

“I want us to try it,” J lifts your chin up so he can see you better. “I want my Emma back!”

“I can’t…I can’t…” you shake your head, upset he won’t drop the idea.
“It’s NOT a request !!!” he snarls, pulling on your hair so hard it makes your eyes sting.

“Can you - can you imagine what it would do to us if it doesn’t work?! It would be like losing her again, the worst nightmare when we already live in hell. Why can’t you understand? Why are you so stubborn?!” you try to reason with a Joker that doesn’t take no for an answer. He always gets his way somehow.

“Do you want me to stay?” J bites his lip, playing the ace in his sleeve.

“Yes, why even ask?” the sorrowful tone confirms what he is already certain of.

“Then I want us to try! Otherwise, I’m gone.”

“It’s not fair…” you weep, distressed by the difficult decision you have to make.

“I’m not known to be a fair person,” he wipes your tears, admitting to his own flaw for once. “You’re still young; if it works, you can have her again. Simple question: yes or no?” The Joker forcefully holds his grip on your body when you wiggle to escape.

*******************

J returns to the kitchen and squints his eyes when he notices the can of grape juice gone from the counter; he could swear he took one out of the fridge before going on the balcony.

“Hey, Pumpkin, did you take my grape juice?” he yells so you can hear him.

“Nooo, I’m upstairs, cleaning out the closet!”

“Hmm…” he smirks when he hears the giggle coming from under the table. “I wonder what happened to it…” (More muffled giggling). “Maybe the grape juice fairy stole it…” he pretends to dispute on the missing item, sniffling the air around. “I can smell her, I think she’s close. If I catch her, I’m gonna tickle her until she surrenders.”

“Hehehehe,” the little voice nervously echoes when his feet stop in front of the table.

“I think I know where she hides!” and he suddenly drops on his knees, making Emma scream and laugh like crazy while he drags her out from the fortress. “Com’ere!” he covers her in kisses and she hugs him with her tiny hands, holding to his can of grape juice.

“Daaa’yyy, stopppp,” she begs, continuing to laugh as The Joker tickles her too.

“You brat, stealing my favorite drink,” he lifts her up in his arms, heading up upstairs where you are.

“Da’yy, share?” your daughter smacks her lips, really wanting some of that juice for herself. She’s not his kid for nothing.

“Yes, we’ll share, but don’t tell mom, I don’t want to share with her too, OK?”

“OK, da’yy,” she enthusiastically bounces in his arms, her pigtails flying all over the place.

“Princess, I think she’s a natural, totally snatched my grape juice; already has great skills,” J proudly reports and you roll your eyes.

“Only you could be excited about that,” you come over to kiss her and she hands you over the can.

“Hey, I said we’re not going to share, kiddo!” he pouts, faking his disappointment.

“Mommy too, da’yy,” Emma cover his mouth with her small fingers.

“Traitor!” he mumbles under his breath.

“That’s my girl!” you praise her, opening the container. “Daddy really needs to shut it down sometimes!” and you give her the drink first, holding in it while she sips the sweet liquid. “It’s good?”

“U-hum,” she wipes her mouth, happy like no other.

“Such  a cute little doll,” J squishes her cheeks, placing a kiss on her temple.

“The cutest…” you whisper, biting on your nails, mesmerized by how joyful she is.

Nothing can ever compare with having your child back. And the man you love. For once in your life, you are thankful you listen to him.

too-many-goddamn-fandoms  asked:

For the honesty hour thing: So, how did you fall in love with Sakuya, and want attracts you to his character? Im interested in this!

Lol girl did I ever tell you that I love you?

It took me awhile to answer this because I needed to collect my thoughts about it. AHAHA TAKE A SEAT EVERYONE. Okay gosh where to begin….. THIS IS LIKE THE INTERVIEW I WAS WAITING FOR. HA.

Well, as some people know I wasn’t extremely fond of Sakuya when I first started Servamp about….7-8 months ago? I didn’t hate him or anything, just didn’t really care for him at first. (but that kinda goes for quite a bit of characters really, but everyone grows on me at some point. ^^)

I think what really got to me was after learning about his past and how it affected his motives, relationships and current situation in the series.

So many aspects about his characters just make so much sense but I feel like are just kinda looked over……. probably cause his backstory was kinda glazed over real quick, in my opinion at least. (Like why dammit? I have so many questions still, this series can’t do this to me.) It just really kills me inside, especially the more I thought about it and the more I think about his character.

I’m gonna kinda express some of my new random thoughts on his past , cause this intrigues me oddly: (Kinda theory time right now whoooo) AND ALL IS WHAT GIVE ME SO MANY FEELINGS MY GOSH.

Just thinking about the extent of the abuse he must’ve suffered is something that really boggles my mind…… We know it went on for years, those 6 years before his “death” and then probably a few more before that obviously, when his sister was still alive. Who’s knows how long she had to endure it though? She was much older, Sakuya was about 9 at the time, and she appeared to be High School (or maybe Middle School can’t really tell with the uniform.)

She was also the one covered in bandages after all, and we couldn’t see any visible scars or injuries on Sakuya. So she obviously took all the beatings so he wouldn’t have too most likely but after when she died I’m sure things got worse for poor little Sakuya.

But this is my other biggest thing about the abuse he went through…

How come he never tried running away?

We all know his parents threatened to do the same thing to him as they did to his older sister, but could he really not just try and leave before anything happened? Maybe not until he got a bit older.. but still….

Was his parents that controlling? I doubt his parents even cared enough to hunt him down if he did run away…. So why didn’t he try? Did they really keep him that locked in? Its so hard for me to imagine him being and feeling that hopeless, did he have zero fight inside him?

It’s hard to imagine him not fighting back in the slightest. But he could have been a very different person back when he was human too, of course. Maybe more meek and submissive… again who knows. (To be honest, I am extremely curious about to what most of the vampires characters were like before they were vampires and who and what they did before as well.

But anyway, do you think Sakuya put up with it…

Because it was ALSO a loyalty thing??!? I’m making no jokes here. Hear me out, even if he hated his parents(I’m sure he did obviously, even though he never explicitly said he did, because we had Tsubaki tell his story, and not Sakuya.)

Do you think he never tried running away or whatever, because he just felt like he just couldn’t? Like he was betraying something? Maybe not his parents, just because “They are my parents…. whether I like it or not. I have to listen to them…

But maybe because of his sisters death? Like he felt like he had to endure it like she did for him?? I mean…. he was told:

“You don’t want your sister’s death to be a waste, right?”

YOU GUYS GET WHAT I AM SAYING HERE RIGHT? History can repeat itself….

(This boy is gonna kill me with his conflicted ass)

Maybe there wasn’t actually much physical abuse doing those years… Maybe at least for as long as he did what they said and stayed out of their way and kept their secret. But I kinda already talked about this part in a post about what I think happened to his parents after he became a vampire. (I am very sensitive about this topic alright?)

We know they killed his sister so they could get insurance money(ughh so sickening) but did they really try to kill Sakuya for more money? They would only be two people at that point…… so that’s why a part of me is like, “there’s gotta be a greater reason.” The best conclusion I came up with was “They killed him because maybe he tried to TELL someone.”

Think about it. Sakuya hates lies, he had to lie his whole life basically. He takes it very serious and to heart. WE KNOW THIS.

We know he only kept it a secret because he was threatened and didn’t want his sister’s death to be in vain…. But maybe he eventually cracked under all the pressure… And maybe tried speaking about it or was planning too and then… That was also the day he died…… Damn…. I just stabbed myself in the heart.

So yes, his past is a big factor on why I found him so interesting initially when I was new to this fandom/series, I was really hoping we would see his past elaborated a bit or learn more and see what he does and how on earth Mahiru was gonna “save him.”

I could go on and on about these two as well. Not in a shippy way…. but friendship or romantic, considering his past it makes sense to why he’s attached to Mahiru. Again in another post where I “defended his character” I guess you could say, I talked about how Sakuya’s “screwed up friendship methods” and how he really dug himself into a hole. -__- But I was saying its almost hard to blame him for going about the way he did. BECAUSE IT JUST MAKES SENSE SADLY.

Sakuya is a real lonely and distant kinda guy. After he sister died I’m sure he didn’t have much light in his life then. No one to talk too, no one who understood. No one who loved him. I’m sure growing up during those 6 years he was probably afraid to get close to anyone. What was school like for him then…. did he really have no friends at all for 6 years? It’s crazy to think about right? His childhood was anything but normal….

But then he received a “second chance” after Tsubaki found him and I’m sure Mahiru’s kind-hearted nature really drew him in, it’s not wrong for him to really want a friend, yeah he did go the complete wrong way about it, but unfortunately lies and deceit is all he knew how to do. He found some light in his life, and he was willing to do anything to hold on to that for as long as he could. Also HE KILLS ME because he regretted lying to Mahiru so much and did all the awful things he did/said, BECAUSE HE WAS HOPING MAHIRU WOULD HATE HIM and have his Servamp KILL HIM because he felt that was the only way to apologize for everything. and BOIII did that really kill me. AND THEN MAHIRU FORGAVE HIM STILL and now look at where he is with his conflicted loyalty….

YOU SEE WHERE I AM COMING FROM AVI!?!? AHHHH.

-inhales- ALSO ONE THING I NEED TO GET OFF MY CHEST BECAUSE THIS REALLY BOTHERS ME. Before ANYONE says “Mahiru is too forgiving about the whole fake memories thing and shouldn’t have forgiven Sakuya or be his friend.” Cause I HAVE heard someone say this and it makes me angry.

BECAUSE then you are ALSO SAYING:

  • Mahiru shouldn’t have forgiven and accepted Kuro for his past and all his sins and regrets, that he never shared with him. Also for attacking Mahiru that one time, lets not forget.
  • Mahiru shouldn’t be friends or ever trust Lawless because he’s killed so many eves and killed all of Tsubaki’s subclass and who knows what else he’s done?
  • Mahiru shouldn’t be finding a way to stop Tsubaki without killing him, because he’s not worth it.
  • Mahiru shouldn’t be trying to save Tsurugi either because he’s also done bad things.
  • AND SO ON.

SO SCREW EVERYONE WHO SAYS THAT. Cause you’re basically saying NO CHARACTER deserves happiness. -exhales- Sorry I just feel very strongly about that and I forgot to mention this in my defense post awhile ago. I feel better now~

So about Sakuya’s damn conflicted loyalty between Tsubaki and Mahiru. How are things gonna go from here?.WHICH ROUTE MY GUY? I WANT TO KNOW.

Tbh he’s kinda similar to Tsurugi in a sense (a certain someone kinda opened my eyes about that) that the whole “afraid to start something new because this is all that I’ve ever known and honestly I don’t know how to feel anymore?” kinda sense.

Although Tsurugi is debatablely the saddest character in servamp right now (backstory and current situation and all ARE WAYYY more painful.)

What? Just cause Sakuya is my fave didn’t mean I’m completely biased about him. He sad. But not the SADDEST. I just thought I would mention this cause the parallels kinda fascinate me.

I WANT SAKUYA TO TAKE SOME ACTION. HE’S FREE NOW RIGHT??? What’s he gonna do now??? What’s he planning to do!?!? STILL WAITING HERE.

. Ughh its probably gonna be awhile until we get anything about Sakuya again. Which is fine. Cause its not his arc right now.

WE GOT BIGGER PROBLEMS IN THE MANGA. MUCH MORE PRESSING THINGS INDEED.

But still I’m extremely curious… To what he might do in the future…. I mean Sakuya and even Lilac are still running around freely unlike the other melancholy members at the moment? So will he somehow be involved with that later??? Will he find Tsubaki??? WHERE ARE YOU MY BOY?

Ughh I’m having Sakuya withdraw lol… I hope he gets to do something exciting or important soon…. Tanaka strike is TEASING ME by putting him in so many recent official arts but then NOT IN THE ACTUAL STORY. WHYYYY. (well we do see Sakuya in a recent bonus chapter so….)

I HOPE THAT MEANS STRIKE PLANS TO INCLUDE HIM AGAIN SOON. I’ll take it as foreshadowing *sobs* Strike obviously hasn’t forgotten about him….so JUST waiting and watching now.

Waiting and watching….

Sorry, that got so angsty above I wanted this post to be positive too.. So here are good/fun things I like about him:

  • Even though he character design absolutely baffles me(yes I mean the hair) I gotta say I really love it~ His hair is really something original that’s for sure. HA. His design also helped immediately catch my attention to him also I may have a bit of a “stripes bias” ahaha I own A LOT of stripe shirts myself lol always have and always will.
  • He owns a lot of pink accessories and wears pink a lot too! LET. BOYS. WEAR. PINK. YES. YOU. GO. MY. BOY.  He rocks it fight me.
  • He’s cool and I’m kinda curious on what his subclass ability is. If there is even one for him. Weapons seem to be his specialty. (F.E knives, chainsaw(which I am still trying to figure out how magically pulled out in AN ELEVATOR!?! And can make a sword outta blood apparently.

  • WANTS TO BE CALLED SAKKUN HOW CUTE IS THAT.
  • Has the best “yandere” expressions.
  • HE PRETTY STRONG and has great potential to be truly terrifying and useful. UNLEASH THAT POTENTIAL YOU GREEN EMO CHILD.
  • Another random thought I had was what would have things been like if Mahiru did choose to tell Sakuya about Kuro in the beginning like he originally planned? Might’ve still gone down the same way. But who knows?
  • (I could keep going tbh)

But for now I’m just gonna sweat about the BIGGER MATTERS THAT ARE CURRENTLY HAPPENING IN THE MANGA RIGHT NOW. HA….

Thank you for asking Aviiiii~ <3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 MBTI

Peter Quill “Star-Lord”
ENFP [THE ADVOCATE]

The ENFP is impatient, wanting things to happen now, not comprehending deferred gratification, and usually have the determination to make it so. They will discover, nurture and support talent in others, seeing the good in people and genuinely wanting to see others succeed. And the ENFP will know exactly which buttons to push to motivate each individual. Giving an ENFP targets, or rules will only make them think up original, inventive ways of breaking them and they will do this with such charm and jois de vivre that others will be very forgiving. The ENFP will see themselves as unique and will revel in this uniqueness finding creative and innovative ways of solving problems and overcoming obstacles. Being part of a group brainstorming possibilities is ENFP territory but they won’t be the one who takes away the notes to type up as they’ll be off looking for the next thrill. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Gamora
ISTP [THE VIRTUOSO]

The ISTP doesn’t follow social mores, nor do they need to engage fully with others and this can give them a distant, aloof persona to others who often don’t quite know where they stand. Practical, resourceful, adaptable pragmatists, ISTPs possess an excellent capacity for understanding how anything works, displaying logical, detached analysis. They have incredible (often understated), powers of observation and a great talent for logical dispassionate analysis, and getting things to work. The ISTP is self-sufficient and very independent, only really happy when undertaking some risky or interesting activity. Direct to the point of abruptness and tending at times to tread on toes, the ISTP tends to speak literally showing little concern for the impact, and they display coolness under pressure which helps get things fixed but which may not endear them to those around them. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Drax
ESTJ [THE GUARDIAN]

The ESTJ has a strong work ethic and this includes loyalty to the cause - whatever that cause is. Their desire to get things done may mean that they ignore the niceties, the softer issues as they tend not to be so well-tuned in to how other people are feeling. There is a strong competitive edge to the ESTJ, and a need to assume control and this can often make it difficult for others to deflect them from their chosen course of action. The ESTJ simply wants to get on and get things done. The desire to jump in and ‘do’ can also make the ESTJ very present focused and so they may not necessarily appreciate how such present actions may impinge on the future nor do they excel at predicting or anticipating future trends or forecasting as they are keen to make quick decisions and are built to get to closure as quickly as possible in order to get the job done. So the ESTJ may rush in without stopping to consider the full range of options open as their prime focus will be to get on with it and as such they may be difficult to budge from their preferred course of action. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Groot
ISFP [THE ARTIST]

Focusing on the here and now, the ISFP will live life to the full, cherishing the present moment, and finding real pleasure in the more sensory and practical activities. They need an inner balance, a kind of karma for their lives and this means keeping things as uncomplicated as possible. Planning and control are not for the ISFP, they much prefer to stay in the background doing the things they like, keeping a balance, which includes choosing to remain, happily disorganised. Quiet supporters, rarely will an ISFP be the leader, preferring to remain behind the scenes, observing, understanding, but saying very little. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Rocket
ENTP [THE VISIONARY]

Curious, communicative and challenging, the ENTP loves intellectual debate, is spontaneous, (at times shockingly so), and assertive. They have a kaleidoscope type vision, seeing all the disparate parts and then, in one twist, pulling them all together into something often quite wonderful. ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love the craic, to argue and engage in robust discussions often for its own sake, and to demonstrate their often impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humour as well, and enjoy playing devil’s advocate. ENTPs are as innovative and ingenious at problem-solving and verbal gymnastics, as they are bored with the routine, the detail and the ‘this has been done before.’ ENTPs are basically optimists, and major setbacks tend to be seen as challenges, and tackled with determination. But smaller, less significant issues can really get to them and see them becoming scratchy and impatient. ENTPs can at times display impatience with those whom they consider wrong or less intelligent, and will on occasions show little restraint in demonstrating this. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Ronan
ISTJ [THE INSPECTOR]

The ISTJ villain usually wants to instill order that goes way beyond what is right. They feel justified in what they are doing (Fi), but rule as a dictator ignoring the feelings of individuals for the great good of an orderly society. Their Si is what needs order and their Te helps to harshly implement their plans. ISTJs can think their actions are morally justified cause of their tertiary Fi function. They often hold to traditions, cultural norms, etc. with their Si and feel that an order society (Te) conforming to their Si beliefs is the best way to implement what they find to be right (Fi). Their inferior Ne makes them prepare for many different outcomes, often leading to a source of paranoia if this function is handled too consciously (fictionalcharactermbti, mbti villains).

Yondu
ESTP [The Doer]

The ESTP is the ‘committee person,’ constantly looking for the 'next big thing,’ and immersing themselves in social activities with gusto. An ESTP will need such experiences as it is through such activities that they best learn and understand. The imaginative, reflective life is not for them, preferring to jump in and see what happens. Supreme optimists, ESTPs will work long and hard on activities which interest them but can switch tack entirely once they begin to lose this interest, and then their energies may become depleted or focused in a totally different direction. The ESTP does not enjoy the constraints of deadlines, schedules or end-dates. The ESTP is pragmatic, tough-minded and will act on the facts and data, rather than emotion. They don’t like to be controlled, need to know they can switch horses in mid-stream and may slide out of obligations, if they get a 'better offer.’ If an ESTP does exactly what you tell them, it is only because they wanted to in the first place. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Nebula
ISFJ [The Defender]

It would be a mistake to underestimate the ISFJ as, although they may give very little out in terms of articulating their feelings, their ’S’ detailed type memory stores everything of relevance, including any slight against them. Because they don’t necessarily share their feelings this does not mean they don’t have any. Everything is stored up, in perfect order, and may come out later in a tirade of facts and evidence dating back a very long way. It is easy to transgress the values of an ISFJ without ever knowing you have done it. Their values are so intrinsic to them, such a part of who they are, and they therefore share them with very few people.  The ISFJ exists only in the present (and the past!) and will use actual, real concrete past experiences to deal with present problems. This means they may struggle with concepts or trying to imagine a future indeed the future may appear scary as it is full of the unknown and the ISFJ prefers the known. This means that change and the new and untried can worry the ISFJ as they fear looking foolish. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Mantis
INFP [The Dreamer]

The INFP has two contrary characteristics, curiosity and shyness. They love to know what’s going on, feel excluded if not kept informed but do not like to be the centre of attention. There is a sensitive, caring side to the INFP which means they will be see the interconnections between people and pick up on the verbal and non-verbal cues. Yet there is a crusading side to the INFP which would surprise even those who knew the person well. When a personal value, or belief is trodden on, then the INFP can become outspoken and turn on the transgressor. Their values are usually so well hidden that the other person may not realise, but the INFP becomes like a champion of the cause and will be expressive, animated and at times go for the jugular. Sensitive, caring and empathetic INFPs are excellent in supporting roles where people have to be looked after - especially if those people are close to the INFP. Because it can take so long (if ever) to get to know the INFP others paradoxically may see them as slightly aloof, as they engage best when they have allowed someone into their inner sanctum. [Prelude Character Analysis]

Ego
INFJ [The Confidant]

Although quite gentle, softly spoken and preferring to be out of the limelight, the INFJ will work long and hard behind the scenes to maintain harmony but they are also intensely independent - both of thought and spirit. INFJs often see themselves on a mission, and they take their missions very seriously. Earnest and responsible the INFJ may be so committed to the cause that other issues take a poor second place. The introvert side means that so much internal processing and reflection goes on but once the course of action has been agreed others, who perhaps perceived a quiet inactive individual, may be surprised by just how decisive, energetic and single-minded the INFJ is. [Prelude Character Analysis]

anonymous asked:

Gods, what was she going to do if she was fired? She’d worked so hard for that fellowship. It’d been proof that she was ready to make something of her life again, that people saw her as something other than a fuck up who had wasted her potential. Jason’s disappointment would be unbearable." Rereading the first 2 chapters and I can't remember why she's a "fuck up," tho I'm pretty sure you've already answered. Could you prompt me or link me to the original ask? I'd really appreciate that.

This ask sort of goes over that and Annabeth alludes to it in Part Two when she’s talking to Jason. Basically, she had a breakdown after the war and had a shitty couple of years filled with self-destructive behavior. That’s largely why she considers herself a fuck up – or a recovering fuck up, anyway.

She had a lot of pressure before the war to be a high-achieving demigod and, like any high-achieving teen who stumbles into average or mediocrity their early 20s, it’s hard for her to shake off the notion that she’s a failure for, you know, being human. Athena’s dismissal of her feelings didn’t help much, which is why they’re no longer speaking.

Annabeth’s under a different sort of pressure now to show just how recovered she is, that she’s a-okay and she’s not causing problems any more, and she can have a normal life if she just does everything right. It’s part of why she’s so conflicted with Percy, because she thinks he’s not going to fit into this over-achieving future of hers. But with Percy, she finds she can be herself - the damaged and dangerous Titan killer - and he’ll embrace her for it.

anonymous asked:

What are Dick Grayson's flaws?

[Strengths here] | Dick Grayson’s Flaws

Stubborn/Unyielding. Dick has strong convictions concerning what’s right or wrong and imposes his morals on other people. He’s unlikely to fold to other opinions and is resistant to criticism on his hard work.

(Brave and the Bold Vol 3 #15)

The good: This ties into Dick’s willpower, determination, and resolve. People have high faith and trust in him due to his strong convictions.

Not finely in tune with emotions. Dick is bad at expressing his feelings and would rather bottle stuff up or isolate himself when under pressure. He needs to keep in touch with a social network of friends and family in order to avoid becoming a caricature of Batman.

(Nightwing Secret Files (1999))

The good: Dick can work through his own problems, is intensely independent, and is not easily emotionally manipulated. Dick relies on logic and impartial analysis to make objective decisions that other people may be resistant to. He goes for brutal honesty instead of beating around the bush, both a strength and a flaw.

Can be insensitive when speaking with other people. When Dick is moody or under pressure, he has a habit of lashing out. He knows what to say to drive the most hurt into his words.

(Birds of Prey Vol 1 #37)

The good: What’s good about this?

Has a “need” to be in charge. Dick will assert his leadership over a team and take for granted that he is the most qualified. This puts the pressure of the responsibility of his friends’ lives in his hands.

(Teen Titans Vol 2 #12)

The good: Dick typically is the most qualified and makes a great leader.

Takes on too many obligations. Dick has a tendency to overwork himself and has difficulty relaxing. He carries unrealistically high expectations for himself and has a fear of failure.

(Titans Secret Files)

The good: He gets a lot done. Dick prides his productivity, his maturity and his responsible nature. This quality extends to his commitment in relationships.

Impatient with sloppy work ethics. Dick has high expectations for other people, though not as high as the expectations he carries for himself. He’s judgmental of what he considers irresponsible or lazy behavior.

(Titans Vol 1 #39)

The good: Dick draws out better work ethics in other people and knows how to foster the strengths of a team. He completes his work with quality.

Adrenaline junkie. Dick is attracted to risky activities like freefalling, jumping off skyscrapers, and motorcycles. He’s not afraid of death, citing that it may happen at any moment, and is attracted to activities, hobbies, or ‘training sessions’ that may be unnecessarily dangerous.

(Nightwing Vol 2 #140)

The good: This gives Dick an interesting, unorthodox quality in life, and this energy extends into his relationships. Dick is capable of adapting on the fly and lives life to the fullest.

Doesn’t like hand outs. Dick is resistant to outside help and resources (particularly from Bruce). He doesn’t believe in giving hand outs to other people, other than giving them a head start.

(Nightwing Vol 2 #13)

The good: Dick likes earning things for himself and paving his own way, though he still knows when it’s smarter to work as a team. He subscribes to the proverb, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Structured vigilante life, unstructured personal life. Dick tends to put vigilantism before his personal life and usually has a very messy living space. Dick isn’t materialistic and has very few personal mementos.

(Detective Comics #871)

The good: Dick is professional and skilled as a vigilante and tends to be more laid back in his personal life.

ESFP [THE ENTERTAINER]

Life-loving, people-centric thrill seekers, the ESFP is interested in people and experiences throwing themselves into relationships and life in general. Their dislike of rules and routine, are justified by their view that their reason for existing is to bring harmony, sympathy and support to peoples’ lives. An ESFP may slide out of rules, regulations obligations on the grounds that, ‘I just had to do something to help.’ The keywords here are 'do’ and 'help;’ caring and practical in equal measure. If there is a crisis, the ESFP will be there, taking charge, offering support, revelling in their ability to help, loving the drama. Their energies and infectious enthusiasm, mean that other people will like them and they will build relationships easily and often.

Mikasa Ackerman
ISFJ [THE DEFENDER]

The ISFJ is the quiet, shy, gentle individual yet a behind-the-scenes mover and shaker who will not seek the glory, indeed would prefer to remain understated, needing only stroking from those they trust and value. Loyal, shy, devoted to the cause, the ISFJ has an intense need to belong and will work tirelessly for the cause and will channel their considerable energies into their work, or indeed anything which has been asked of them. Although generally shy and reserved the ISFJ takes work, indeed anything they do, seriously and much prefer it when others do the same. They are caring, sympathetic and want to help, but do not need the kudos, indeed they may be suspicious of those who try to confer compliments on them especially in the early stages of a relationship. The ISFJ exists only in the present (and the past!) and will use actual, real concrete past experiences to deal with present problems. This means they may struggle with concepts or trying to imagine a future indeed the future may appear scary as it is full of the unknown and the ISFJ prefers the known. This means that change and the new and untried can worry the ISFJ as they fear looking foolish and being ‘in the spotlight.’

Armin Arlert
INFP [THE DREAMER]

The INFP has two contrary characteristics, curiosity and shyness. They love to know what’s going on, feel excluded if not kept informed but do not like to be the centre of attention. The INFP always wants to be invited to the party - even though the chances are they won’t show up.

Reiner Braun
ESFJ [THE SUPPORTER]

The ESFJ character shares the same action-orientation of the ESTJ but with a people-based focus. The drive, energies and pragmatism that the ESTJ channels into tasks, the ESFJ will channel into people. Driven by a sense of duty they are the cooperative, helpful, sympathetic and personable pragmatists, disliking anything ethereal or woolly as they prefer practical solutions to people issues and they’ll work hard at making this happen. Due to their caring nature and desire for harmony, the ESFJ may find it difficult to take the hard decisions. The ESFJ will be good at follow-through, being conscientious and making sure the routine is taken care of, but may struggle with anything which appears complex, or which is perceived as not clearly getting the intended result or which causes conflict or disharmony.

Bertolt Hoover
ISFP [THE ARTIST]

Quiet supporters, rarely will an ISFP be the leader, preferring to remain behind the scenes, observing, understanding, but saying very little. There is a stubborn side to the ISFP, but this is more of a passive stubbornness, meaning the person may say 'yes,’ but mean 'no.’ Their gentleness and thoughtfulness means that the ISFP can be an excellent mediator in the team, seeking good things and building harmony. The downside of this is that the ISFP can be overly laid back and, unless it is important to their values, have 'one speed,’ with little acceleration. The ISFP wants, and needs, a cooperative environment, where harmony is a first principle, and confrontation is kept to a minimum.

Annie Leonhardt
ISTP [THE VIRTUOSO]

At their best ISTPs are excellent at reacting to problems or crises, needing very little preparation and able to cut to the chase with no preamble or discussion with others, spontaneously grasping the nettle often to the surprise of those who had mistakenly viewed them as peripheral players.

Ymir
ISFP [THE ARTIST]

The ISFP is the astute observer of life, quiet, introspective and kindly. Harmony and respectfulness of values are so important to them. And although trust takes quite some time to establish, once it has been, the ISFP will be a solid and dependable friend. Yes it will take some time to really get to know the inner values of an ISFP but the reward will be a friend for life, a friend who will proactively anticipate problems and support others. Conversely if trust is broken, the ISFP will walk away, no fuss, apparently passive but stubbornly refusing to engage again. Focusing on the here and now, the ISFP will live life to the full, cherishing the present moment, and finding real pleasure in the more sensory and practical activities such as painting or handicrafts. They need an inner balance, a kind of karma for their lives and this means keeping things as uncomplicated as possible. This need for balance and harmony may mean, however that the ISFP puts off a decision until the decision is made for them.

Connie Springer
ENFP [THE ADVOCATE]

The ENFP is the heady individual, creative, quick, impulsive who will get up in the morning thinking of how many possibilities the day may bring. They are excellent at devising new ways of doing things, and bring a totally unique and fresh perspective to people, projects and situations. People-centred, caring and spontaneous, the ENFP will be excellent at getting things started and they’ll do so with energy, enthusiasm and zeal.

Sasha Blouse
ENFJ [THE COACH]

The ENFJ is the people organiser, warm, harmonious and an enthusiastic champion of people who just wants to ‘do good.’ They make sure the needs of the people are paramount, placed in pole position on the agenda, and taken care of. They are excellent networkers who tune into what others want and are generally well-liked and popular among their colleagues. They have an innate sense of what is required and can genuinely make others feel really special. They can generally be found at the emotional heart of a group or body and will be the one making sure things get done. Like their ENTJ cousins they are great ones for getting on and doing but with a much more people focus than task focus, but with no less energy, commitment or vigour. Articulate and confident the ENFJ will be persuasive and tenacious; the one voted the leader or committee chairperson. Everyone knows they can depend on the ENFJ.

Jean Kirstein
ESTJ [THE EXECUTIVE]

Formal and structured the ESTJ works best when everyone is clear as to the ground-rules, (the ESTJ will happily create them if they are lacking!), and they tend to be better at maintaining the status quo squeezing more out of the existing processes rather than radically recreating new ones. Factual, accurate, detailed and process driven the ESTJ will bring order, structure and focus to their environment. This can mean the ESTJ will be traditional and often quite conservative in their approach, preferring the known to experimenting or trying a more novel, creative approach. Thus the ESTJ may not always adapt well to change (unless they are doing the changing!), and indeed if pushed hard can make formidable opponents to any new order. For the ESTJ change must make logical sense and ‘if it ain’t broke then why fix it?’ Emotional arguments or pleading won’t work as only hard facts and logical reasoning ‘compute’ with the ESTJ.

Erwin Smith
ENTJ [THE COMMANDER]

The ENTJ is the natural leader - just ask them! They are confident, authoritative and will take the lead in situations - especially one which calls for organisation and marshalling of the troops. They don’t hesitate and their directness can often leave others reeling in their wake as the ENTJ will have little time for anything they’d see as woolly or obtrusive. As their least developed function is ‘F’ they may not truly comprehend the impact their behaviour has on others, often coming across as overly task driven, insensitive and impatient, and a bit of a bossy boots. The ENTJ is actually very friendly, outgoing and with bags of energy and enthusiasm, they like (indeed need), to be in the thick of it - although not in a subordinate role but leading the charge. Organised, productive with high willpower, determination and an intense need to be constantly ‘on the go,’ the ENTJ will not sit back and see what life brings but will proactively go and make it happen, having a restless and unquenchable desire to fill the unforgiving minute.

Levi Ackerman
INTJ [THE ARCHITECT]

The INTJ is the patient visionary with a clear view of how the future should look and will work with quiet and logical determination to make it happen. Although quite deep, and mistrustful until they have the measure of people, the INTJ loves an intellectual challenge and will be stimulated by the conceptual, the abstract and the complex. The INTJ loves the complex, the new, the untried and the untested. Facts and figures bore them, and they will be looking to see the 'bigger picture,’ planning for the future that they create. Their introversion and high ‘N’ that they spend a great deal of their time in an internal world of complexity and imagination which can see them viewed as slightly eccentric or ‘not of this world,’ and this creates issues when they try to explain to mere mortals what it is they are working on. As they prefer the abstract and theoretical, ‘S’ like explanations are difficult for them and so others may perceive them as disconnected and a bit ‘boffin-like’ and intellectual, maybe even arrogant.

Hange Zoë
ENTP [THE ORIGINATOR]

Engaging, plausible and entertaining the ENTP is very closely attuned to their surroundings and constantly on the lookout for opportunities and possibilities, which will feed their strong desire for something new. An ENTP will be like a breath of fresh air, infusing people and projects with a whole array of new ideas and creative ways of doing things. However, they can become bored and withdraw their energies as they go off in search of the next 'fix.’ They are of the moment and are great at creating momentum for anything new. However they may become bored after the initial fascination has passed. Curious, communicative and challenging, the ENTP loves intellectual debate, is spontaneous, (at times shockingly so), and assertive. They have a kaleidoscope type vision, seeing all the disparate parts and then, in one twist, pulling them all together into something often quite wonderful. ENTPs are excitable and this excitement is very often contagious. They have ‘the gift of the gab,’ and are at ease in social situations, winning people over and can adapt to any level and any conversation - if it interests them.

Descriptions from Prelude Character Analysis.

Met with the landlord. Recorded audio of the conversation. I know that’s probably not admissible in court or whatever if it comes to that but we can at least listen back and remember exactly what was said.

I was the one who advocated for our rights and I’m proud of myself for speaking up and speaking well under pressure. It felt a little awkward because I’m still a relatively new member of the crew and I didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes but I’m glad I did it.

Landlord says he will get the money back to us for the six months rent he owes but he’s not sure when he can do it by. That’s bullshit, he owns the whole block he could pay that like nothing.

The papers he waned to sign said that we decline assistance from the city. It basically says that we refuse to stay in a shelter if we are displaced. It sounds like it’s just to wash the city’s hands clean of the situation but we worry that he could use against us and refuse to pay us so we are telling him that we refuse to sign anything until he pays us.

This morning when I woke up snuggled with Vinny and Olliecat I realized that my top priority has to be to keep the three of us together. Ollie is already stressed because he sees us packing all our things and I worry that he would be super stressed and act out if I had him stay with someone else. Right no the three of us are each other’s home and we need to stick together.

I moved two car loads of stuff to my parent’s house today. Told my mom I wasn’t asking for anything except my old room for storage but she told me that the three of us could stay there if needed.

At this point we don’t know how long we have at the warehouse so I am packing up everything except for a bag each of essentials so we can quickly leave if need be. We are hoping that the city will give us an actual date that we have to be out by but for now I am operating under the assumption that we could go there at any time and find ourselves locked out of our home.

There are still a lot of immediate unknowns but I am incredibly grateful for my mother’s offer and I feel very calm and centered and I’m not stressed out about anything really.

It’s funny. When life is boring my mind runs wild and concocts all these problems and I freak out but when shit actually hits the van in actually super good at managing stress and getting shit done. Vinny is the opposite and is feeling super anxious. I’m glad I can be the strong one for once and assure him that everything is going to be okay.

I am grateful that I know the three of us have a save space to go together. I am grateful that this happened while the kids are back in school so I am able to take care of business while they are at school during the day. I’m grateful that I’ve picked up new dog walking clients and have multiple streams of income. I am grateful to be set up to drive with Lyft and even though I haven’t done it in ages I can get out there and hustle in situations like this when we need fast cash. I am grateful for the grace with which I am managing to handle this situation.

College is filled with opportunities to join clubs and organizations that are not only socially beneficial, but also look great on your resume. Sure, join the Ping-Pong team for fun, but here are some college clubs you should join that will help you prepare for your career.

1. Become a tour guide.

I know you probably loathed doing a lot of campus tours in high school:

“To your left is the first bathroom ever created on campus…and to your right is a tree.”

Butyou probably didn’t have the best tour guide if you were bored. Being a tour guide is a great way to gain public speaking experience. When I was a tour guide, sometimes I had groups as big as 200 people. The more you speak in front of people, the easier it gets. When your boss asks you to pitch a new idea to the whole office, you won’t be as nervous. Tour guides also typically work with administration. One of the best letters of recommendation I ever got was from my administrator when I was a tour guide.

Also, being a tour guide can have perks. Some schools pay their students. For my school, we got to register first for classes, so I never had any trouble getting into a class I wanted. This incentive was amazing. Start as a freshman and give tours all four years. Campuses love hiring freshman to give tours because it adds diversity to their lineup and they know they can have you on their team again.

2. Join debate club.

Learn how to hold your own in a discussion. This skill is extremely helpful in business meetings and life in general. This club takes public speaking to the next level because it adds a sense of pressure and argumentation. Learn how to speak clearly, be poised when you’re under pressure, and voice what you believe in.

3. Get involved in student government.

Not only will you be a voice on campus representing your student body, but you’ll also learn how the school functions: what works and what doesn’t work. Being in student government opens the door to gain leadership experience on campus and work with the administration.

4. Seek out (your major) club.

If you’re in premed, join the premed club. If you’re in media, join the student media team on campus. You’ll not only meet people that are probably in your classes, but you’ll also gain networking experience with people in your field. Not to mention, you just gained a group of study buddies!

5. Consider philanthropy club.

Joining a club that does work for charity or volunteering in the community will help you gain a better perspective while you’re in college. Plan a canned food drive or get a group together and clean up your local park. Bring board games to a senior citizen home or visit your local children’s hospital. There are so many ways you can get a group together on campus to give back to your local community. Of course, this looks great on a resume, but do it for the bigger purpose, and change lives while you’re still in school.

6. Start your own!

If you’ve always wanted to have a book club on campus but there isn’t one, start it! Or if you want to get a group of people together to run every Monday and Wednesday evening, start a running club. No matter what the club or organization is, it says a lot about your drive, organization, and work ethic if you build something from the ground up.

Try to join a couple of these kinds of clubs your freshman or sophomore year so you can stick with them throughout your college experience. It looks better to have committed to one or two clubs for four years than to have bounced around to a lot of them throughout college. And don’t forget to throw in some fun and random clubs, like ballroom dancing or crafting!

The night had started out peaceful, you and Bucky had finished watching a few movies while cuddled up together before the two of you had walked out onto your shared balcony to gaze at the stars that shone above your heads. You had sat in his lap, while he sat on the single chair that was left outside. His strong arms had wrapped around you, and a soft, fluffy blanket had been draped across the two of you. Although he had been reluctant to touch you with his cold, vibranium arm, you had persuaded him to at least keep his arm outside the blanket and wrapped around you.

Bucky had always been a bit fearful of touching you with his metal arm because he knew what it was capable of. As the Winter Soldier, it had been his primary weapon, capable of flattening a human’s skull with the power it had. The arm itself was also one of the reasons he turned into the Winter Soldier; those ten key words caused the arm to shift and turn, rendering him unable to do anything but comply with the speaker’s demands.

Bucky had shaken his head and tightened his grip on you, pulling your body closer to his before he placed his chin onto your shoulder. Seconds later he questioned if you wanted to head up to bed or not.

When you agreed, Bucky had stood and carried you bridal style back to the bedroom. He placed you softly on your shared bed before quickly ducking into the bathroom to change and brush his teeth. When he reappeared, he was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a plain white shirt. You had taken a few moments to marvel at the muscle of his arms and chest before reaching your arms out to him. He had chuckled and stepped closer, letting you wrap yourself around him as he laid next to you.

That night you had fallen asleep spooning, with Bucky behind you and his flesh arm wrapped securely around your waist. You had fallen asleep before he had, and Bucky spent a few moments softly gazing at your sleeping figure before he sighed happily. He took in your face in awe, wondering how he had managed to get so lucky, before reaching a hand out to brush back a strand of hair that had fallen over your eyes. He marveled at the beauty of your face and smiled gently when you let out a snore. You may have found it gross and unlady-like that you snored softly, but Bucky loved it. For some reason, the sounds soothed him when he was trying to fall asleep. He had always assumed that when he heard the noises, he knew that you were still there with him, and that thought helped him fall asleep at night.

Finally, Bucky laid his head back against the soft pillow placed under his skull, and closed his eyes, letting sleep overtake his body.

    Pain.

That was the only thing he felt in that moment.

It rippled through his skin and ran throughout his entire body, rendering him useless to movement. He was unable to function correctly, his limbs felt like dead weight and his brain could barely register the moment that was occurring. The agony came in sets, one after the other; they seemed like shocks, yet they were so painful that Bucky imagined it was much worse than a simple shock. The agony elicited pained screams from Bucky’s mouth, ones that usually caused others to shrink back. Bucky knew this because you had told him that his screams caused you more pain than himself.

When Bucky finally came to, the only thing he could feel was the gears turning in his metal arm. The silver gears made eerie noises as the grinded together and shifted into the correct positions. He looked down and noticed that he was positioned in some kind of bunker. It looked as if it had been taken from a movie, where a battle takes place underground. The walls were brick and covered in so much dirt and grime that they appeared blackened. There was moss peeling from the walls and not enough light seeping through. He could only see what was directly in front of him and no further. Based on the freezing temperature in the room, Bucky assumed that he was somewhere in Russia again.

“Zhelaniye,” A voice spoke. It was cold and heavily accented, obviously Russian.

Bucky shook his head as his arm began to twist to the will of the voice, “Rzhavyy.”

His head began to turn as he recognized the words being spoken. He twisted his body to try and escape the chair he was strapped to, but it was no use. His arms and legs as well as chest had been strapped to the chair, using a metal that was too strong for Bucky to break through.

“Stop,” Bucky whimpered, his usually rough and masculine voice cracking under the pressure.

The person speaking ignored his pleas and continued to spit out the Russian words that would transform Bucky into the assassin he feared being, “Semnadtsat’.”

Bucky continued to struggle against his bonds, wondering where you and Steve were. The two of you were his closest friends and you had promised not to let things like this happen ever again. After he was rescued and brought back to the Avengers facility, you had told him that you and Steve would never let Hydra capture him again. Your soft soothing words had convinced him, but in this moment, Bucky realized you were lying.

“Rassvet,” The cold, dark voice spoke, “Pech’.”

Bucky practically whimpered under the force of the words, and he attempted to get his arm to stop complying to its’ demands.

    “Devyat’.”

Bucky struggled, “Stop!” He did not want to become a monster forced to kill people under Hydra’s will. Not again.

    “Dobrokachestvennyy.”

His arm began to twist again, and Bucky threw his head back against the metal of the chair, trying to fall unconscious. He did not care about the pain he would experience, he just did not want to have to become the Winter Soldier once more.

    “Vozvrashcheniye na rodinu.”
He threw his head back harder, causing jolts of pain to run through his skull, but to no avail. He could not force himself into an unconscious state.

    “Odin,” The voice spoke again.

At this point, Bucky had become numb; his brain melting into a state where he was unable to struggle against the commands. The words were causing him to become the perfect soldier; one who simply follows every command and does not protest.

That was the purpose of the commands: make him feel nothing but the urge to follow commands swiftly and with no objection.

When the last word was uttered from the man’s mouth, Bucky was under a trance, unable to do anything but listen for his commands from the man in charge, “Gruzovoy vagon.”

The Winter Soldier’s back fell against the solid metal of the chair beneath him, a distant look in his eye. He could not call himself Bucky any longer, instead he was the Winter Soldier, a Hydra trained assassin trained to do only one thing: kill.

He continued to stare into space with no thoughts on his mind, until a voice broke through, “Dobroye utro, soldat.”

The Winter Soldier did not respond, instead sitting completely still and unresponsive.

“Soldat?” The voice questioned, leaning closer to look at the soldier’s face.

The Winter Soldier finally turned his eyes to train themselves on the man. He was dressed in the traditional soldier’s uniform, camouflage colored and tucked into his boots. It was topped with a red beret custom with Hydra’s logo in the center.

The Winter Soldier’s stare was heavy and threatening, a look that made the man cower back slightly.

Taking a deep breath, the Winter Soldier spoke two small words, “Gotovy soblyudat’.”

The man proudly smirked at the assassin before leaning back, his hands tucked behind him in a military position.

“I have a mission for you, soldat,” he spoke, his head tilted upwards to convey authority and power. He paced slowly in front of the Winter Soldier, before turning to face him to gauge his reaction.

The Winter Soldier did not respond, only moving his eyes to look at the man once more. The simple look led to the man believing that the soldier was complying, so he continued to speak.

“There is a women- an Elemental women, who is interfering with our organization’s projects. She has invaded many of our bases and rescued some of our patients, and in order for her actions to be stopped, we need her dead.”

The Winter Soldier raises his head and looks the man dead in his eyes, “Kak yeye zovut?” He questions, wanting to know the name of the women threatening Hydra.

The name that falls from the man’s lips in a heavily Russian tone, is yours.

You wake with a start, your dreams being interrupted by the handsome man asleep beside you.

Turning your head to look at his face, you marvel at the sight of him. His long, brown hair that was so silky and soft that you could not keep yourself from running your fingers through it every so often. The scruff that adorned his chin and cheeks made him look manly and proud, something you often admired about him.

When Bucky made a noise of discomfort and fear, you were suddenly wide awake, ready for any danger or threat to yourself or Bucky. He was twisting his head back and forth in his sleep, conveying obvious signs of a nightmare. Bucky let out quiet shouts of pain for a few moments before he was silent. In an eerie silence, Bucky sat unmoving in his place for a few solid minutes. You then made a move to wake him up, fearing that his nightmare was taking over. Seeing him as the Winter Soldier again, was something that you hated and feared. His time as an assassin had crushed his soul and caused him to have horrible flashbacks and memories, making it difficult for you to comfort him because he was afraid of injuring you.

You stretched across the bed, laying your cool skin against his flesh shoulder and shaking him in the slightest way possible, all the while fearing that if you scared him he would attempt to injure you as he would still be in the Winter Soldier’s mindset. Bucky made no movement to show that he was awakening from his slumber; he only continued to shiver and curl back in pain.

Moving your body, you stretched your torso so that it was above his, and you placed your other arm onto his other shoulder. You shook him a bit harder, your nerves tensing and prepared to defend yourself.

In a split second, Bucky’s eyes flew open and he grabbed your wrists in between his hands. His fists closed around your bones and he squeezed, a tactic he used to keep a prisoner from escaping. From the moment that his eyes opened, you knew that the man before you was not your Bucky; instead, this was the Winter Soldier, an assassin many had come to fear.

The Winter Soldier grabbed you by your wrists and flung your body away from him, sending you against the solid wall on the opposite side of the room. You hit the wall hard, falling against the ground in a haze of pain. Before you could make a move to get up and prepare yourself to fight back, the soldier was out of the bed and advancing on your fallen form. He stalked towards you, his metal arm glinting in the moonlight. It flexed and twirled and you could hear the sounds of the gears and fixtures turning inside of it.

Coughing out a hard breath and placing your hand on your chest, you were sure that you had broken a rib or too. The stinging pain in your chest coupled with the difficulty breathing led to you imagining that at least two of the bones had been cracked upon impact.

You glanced up at the Winter Soldier, fear evident on your face before you opened your palm. Vines erupted from the sides of the room, exploding from crevices and windows. They moved quickly towards the assassin, latching themselves onto his body and limbs in an attempt to keep him from advancing on you. The long, green vines were enough to keep him grounded for the second you needed to stand from your position.

You yelled out in fear, trying to snap him out of his trance, “Bucky! Bucky, please. This isn’t you!”

The Winter Soldier ignored your cries and continued to attempt to pull the plants from his body. He ripped the green vines from his arms, more taking their place as you attempted to keep him grounded.

When the assassin finally managed to break through the vines, you were already moving towards the door, throwing it open and running down the hallway. You knew you were not going to get far, after all, Bucky had been subjected to the super soldier serum.

Yelling out into the hallway, you alerted FRIDAY, “Hey FRIDAY! I kind of need some help here!”

The AI system turned online, replying back to your request, “Good morning Miss. Would you like me to alert Mr. Rogers and Mr. Stark?”

You rolled your eyes and pushed yourself to run faster as you heard the approaching steps of the soldier, “Yes please!”
The AI complied with your request and you continued to run in the direction of Steve’s room, hoping that the other super soldier would be able to control the Winter Soldier.

Seconds later, you could hear his breath behind you, and you yelled out, throwing your hands down, letting ice take over the floor beneath the soldier. He slipped and fell against the cold ground, his body hitting the floor hard and you had to suppress a laugh before you took off again.

From inside her room, Wanda awoke to commotion in the hallway. She immediately moved towards her door, throwing it against the wall as she witnessed the scene in front of her. She watched as you attempted to keep Bucky at bay with an ice wall, and Bucky as the Winter Soldier threw his fist against the ice, trying to reach you.

Wanda moved quickly, aiming to help you as the two of you were close friends. She threw her hands out, red wisps of magic floating from her fingertips. They hit Bucky, causing his motions to stall, rendering him useless as he stared at you with lifeless, controlled eyes.

Wanda moved to stand next to you, watching as you nodded your head in thanks. You moved again, dropping your hands to let the ice wither away. You moved closer to the soldier, hands facing up to show that you were not a threat.

Seconds later, Steve and Tony were running to see what the commotion was about. In surprise the Winter Soldier attempted to lunge at you, causing Wanda to hold him back harsher with her powers. Steve’s eyes widened dramatically, causing him to stop dead in his tracks. He watched with sad eyes as his best friend fought to reach you, the women he loved.

Even Tony looked saddened by the scene, as he knew how much you meant to Bucky and vice versa.

Tony spoke first, questioning if you were okay, to which you responded that you may have cracked a few ribs.

Steve then looked to you, “You were the one who managed to snap him out of this last time. If anyone can bring Bucky back it’s you.”

You nodded and stepped closer to the Winter Soldier. His eyes blazed, and he struggled to reach for your body. Advancing slowly with your arms raised, you whispered sweet nothings to Bucky as the rest of the team watched on. They were worried for your safety, as any family would.

You finally reached Bucky, pulling a hand up to run your fingers down the side of his face. They trailed from his hairline to his stubbled chin, where you grasped it between your fingers. Bucky attempted to jerk away, but you held him in place. He watched you with maddened eyes as you spoke, “Hey Bucky, it’s me. It’s me, okay? You don’t need to hurt me because your safe, alright? You’re not with Hydra anymore and they cannot hurt you here. You are with me and they do not control your mind anymore; do not let them win. If you hurt me, Buck, you’re letting Hydra win. This is what they want, and I know you can beat them. You hear me?”

A dazed look passed over Bucky’s features, and he gazed at you with confusion swirling in his eyes. He looked as if he recognized you but he still did not trust you enough to get close to him.

You took a step closer and pressed your torso against his, ignoring the way that your ribs stung when they moved. You raised your other hand to press against his cheek, and you pulled his face closer to yours before speaking, “I need you to come back to me, Bucky. Please.”
Bucky still did not respond; his movements were restrained, so all he could do was watch you as you raised yourself onto the tips of your toes to look into his eyes. He watched as you opened your mouth and spoke the three words he had been waiting to hear since the moment he met you, “I love you.”

With that, Bucky shook his head for a few moments and let out a screech of pain. It was like he was physically ripping himself away from the Winter Soldier’s grasp, wanting to be in your arms again. Another painful yell escaped his lips before his body went slack, dropping to the floor. Thankfully, Wanda was able to keep him standing with her powers.

You and Steve then followed Wanda as she carried Bucky into his room with her powers. She laid his unconscious body against the soft bed before she nodded at you and left the room. Steve then turned to you and questioned if you would be okay. You only nodded your head and told him that you would get your ribs checked out after Bucky woke up. Steve nodded his head and dropped his hand onto your shoulder to squeeze it softly. You looked up at him with a small smile on your face and Steve nodded gratefully at you, squeezing your shoulder once more before leaving.

You turned your head back to Bucky’s sleeping figure, watching as he took steady breaths. You inhaled deeply and brushed your hand across his face, smiling when he nuzzled closer to your hand. Letting your body drop, you rested against the bed, still sitting in the chair beside him, before letting sleep overtake your body once more.

Hours later, you were awoken when someone shook your shoulder gently, their lips uttering your name. When you looked up, you saw Bucky watching you with sad and guilty eyes, his metal arm pulled as far away as possible. He looked broken; bags under his eyes, a sullen look upon his face, and his body sagging under guilt and fear.

You pulled your body weakly up from the chair, wincing when your ribs stung. The wince caught Bucky’s eyes and he flinched back when he realized that he was the one who had inflicted the pain upon you.

Pulling yourself into the bed next to Bucky, he shifted his gaze to the sheets on the bed beneath him.

“I hurt you,” Bucky whimpered. He shook his head as if he could not believe what he did.

You tilted your head to the side softly as if to say no before speaking, “It’s okay, Bucky.”

Bucky shakes his head and turns to look at you with tears springing from his eyes, “No, no it’s not okay. I hurt the one person I promised to protect.”

You smiled gently and let tears fall from your eyes, “It’s okay, Bucky. Do you know why?”

Bucky shook his head and dropped his eyes back to his lap. You grabbed his chin between your fingers as you had done earlier and lifted his eyes to meet yours, “Because I know that no matter what happens, you will always be by my side and I will always be by yours. No matter who or what tries to tear us apart, I am always going to be there for you, Bucky; just as you will always be there for me. I do not care how many people I have to go through or how many disasters strike; you are the only thing keeping me from staying in my bed all day, horrified by the things I have done. You are the only thing that wakes me up in the morning and the only one to make sure that I am okay every day. I do not care about the things you have done in the past because that was in the past. We both have done things we regret since becoming the people we are today, but we cannot change those things. All we can do is do better today and tomorrow. You want to know why I forgive you no matter what? Because, Bucky, I love you.”

By the end of your speech, both of you are in tears and Bucky is trying hard to keep himself from openly sobbing. He instead grabs you by the shoulders and pulls you into his body. He clutches you to his body, letting himself sob into your hair. His finger run through your hair while his other hand presses your chest against his. He cries and so do you, both of you expressing emotions that you have not let out in a long time.

When he pulls away, he grasps your cheek with one hand and whispers the, words that promise you that everything will be okay again, “I love you too.”

ESTP [The Adventurer]

The ESTP is constantly looking for the ‘next big thing,’ and immersing themselves in social activities with gusto. The imaginative, reflective life is not for them, preferring to jump in and see what happens. Supreme optimists, ESTPs will work long and hard on activities which interest them but can switch tack entirely once they begin to lose this interest. The ESTP does not enjoy the constraints of deadlines, schedules or end-dates so if an ESTP does exactly what you asked them, it is only because they wanted to in the first place. ESTPs love to be at centre stage, demonstrating feats of wonder and daring.

Duchess
ISFJ [The Defender]

ISFJs are the people-centric doers, using their considerable organisational ability to make sure people are taken care of and protected. They are extremely conscientious, hardworking, loyal and dedicated - to people, organisations, groups. Once they are allied to the cause they take their roles very seriously.

Marie
ESFJ [The Supporter]

The ESFJ character shares the same action-orientation of the ESTJ but with a people-based focus. The drive, energies and pragmatism that the ESTJ channels into tasks, the ESFJ will channel into people. Driven by a sense of duty they are the cooperative, helpful, sympathetic and personable pragmatists, disliking anything ethereal or woolly as they prefer practical solutions to people issues and they’ll work hard at making this happen. Unlike the ESFP the ESFJ will want a plan and closure, they do not like loose ends or anything they perceive as sloppy or messy. They tend also to have more of a ‘gate-post,’ binary mentality, seeing things in very black and white, ‘good or bad,’ ‘right or wrong,’ ‘nice or horrible.’ Thus anything which appears complex or which has many shades of grey will be dismissed as it doesn’t conform to the ‘natural laws’ of ‘ESFJ common sense

Berlioz
ISTP [The Craftsman]

The ISTP is self-sufficient and very independent, only really happy when undertaking some risky or interesting activity. Direct to the point of abruptness and tending at times to tread on toes, the ISTP tends to speak literally showing little concern for the impact, and they display coolness under pressure which helps get things fixed but which may not endear them to those around them, (even those for whom they’ve fixed something). The independent streak in the ISTP means that they will usually display confidence in their own abilities but this means they may also not bring others into the decision-making process.

Toulouse
ESFP [The Entertainer]

The ESFP is interested in people and experiences and their dislike of rules and routine, are justified by their view that their reason for existing is to bring harmony, sympathy and support to peoples’ lives saying 'I just had to do something to help.’ The keywords here are 'do’ and 'help;’ caring and practical in equal measure. The ESFP has an ability to make others feel so special. Down to earth and practical, ESFPs live in the here and now preferring to take life as it comes with the optimistic view that it’s bound to be good, (and if it isn’t then there’s always next time!).

Edgar Balthazar
ISFJ [The Defender]

It may be possible to overlook the value of an ISFJ as they are the behind-the-scenes 'glue’ for organisations and groups. Unlike the ESFJ who will be more outspoken, the ISFJ will work steadily and quietly to ensure all the routine details are taken care of, and that people are happy. The ISFJ remembers specifics - details, names, faces and stores them in the pristine filing cabinet in their heads. Rarely will they share their own values, preferring to keep their own counsel and make their focus the needs of others. Although generally shy and reserved the ISFJ takes work, indeed anything they do, seriously and much prefer it when others do the same.
