DAY 3256

Jalsa, Mumbai                   Feb 26/27, 2017                    Sun/Mon 2:30 am

Variety of life in a day is what they that get its privilege, are ecstatic in condition .. my state emulates that .. in pride in love in satisfied priority ..

The freshly formed Chennai Ef comes in droves to meet up in, I must say in a most disciplined manner, greatly appreciated, with cards and letters and other humbling moments .. thank you for all you do, in the manner you do !!

The classical music and its relevance in today’s times has been taking time and space from me in various forms .. another came to me by fortune today .. Suresh Wadkar, that eminent voice of song and learning, celebrates the Anniversary of his ‘guru’ at an award induced evening, honouring that great iconic Kathak dancer, legendary Birju Maharaj .. and they give me the honour of decorating him .. the presence of other music greats is that icing that we all crave for - Ustad Zakir Hussain, Rashid Khan, Anup Jalota ..et al ..

But before this there is the Sunday well wishers and a very quick delivery occurs, for the back door departure to the Ajivasan event, the Institute that Suresh Wadkar runs, with great efficiency and standard ..

And a quick exit from there takes a rapid drive for the Charity ramp designer walk, that supports and drives initiative to work for the cure of blood cancer in little children .. each young deserves a long and complete life and a healthy one .. donating to the cause is providing that opportunity to give the unfortunately ill another life ..

A day satisfied with the goodness of life .. a day given an opportunity to be another social and morally conscious being ..

There is enough for all … and all needs to now rest and recoup ..

Good night ..

NGC 7822 in Cepheus

Hot, young stars and cosmic pillars of gas and dust seem to crowd into NGC 7822. At the edge of a giant molecular cloud toward the northern constellation Cepheus, the glowing star forming region lies about 3,000 light-years away. Within the nebula, bright edges and dark shapes stand out in this colorful skyscape.

The atomic emission is powered by energetic radiation from the central hot stars. Their powerful winds and radiation sculpt and erode the denser pillar shapes and clear out a characteristic cavity light-years across the center of the natal cloud. Stars could still be forming inside the pillars by gravitational collapse but as the pillars are eroded away, any forming stars will ultimately be cutoff from their reservoir of star stuff. This field of view spans over 40 light-years at the estimated distance of NGC 7822.

The cosmic cloud of gas and dust is W33, a massive starforming complex some 13,000 light-years distant, near the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy. So what are all those yellow balls? Citizen scientists of the web-based Milky Way Project found the features they called yellow balls as they scanned many Spitzer images and persistently asked that question of researchers. Now there is an answer. The yellow balls in Spitzer images are identified as an early stage of massive star formation. They appear yellow because they are overlapping regions of red and green, the assigned colors that correspond to dust and organic molecules known as PAHs at Spitzer wavelengths. Yellow balls represent the stage before newborn massive stars clear out cavities in their surrounding gas and dust and appear as green-rimmed bubbles with red centers in the Spitzer image. Of course, the astronomical crowdsourcing success story is only part of the Zooniverse. The Spitzer image spans 0.5 degrees or about 100 light-years at the estimated distance of W33.

IC 5067 in the Pelican Nebula : The prominent ridge of emission featured in this sharp, colorful skyscape is cataloged as IC 5067. Part of a larger emission nebula with a distinctive shape, popularly called The Pelican Nebula, the ridge spans about 10 light-years following the curve of the cosmic pelicans head and neck. This false-color view also translates the pervasive glow of narrow emission lines from atoms in the nebula to a color palette made popular in Hubble Space Telescope images of star forming regions. Fantastic, dark shapes inhabiting the degree wide field are clouds of cool gas and dust sculpted by the winds and radiation from hot, massive stars. Close-ups of some of the sculpted clouds show clear signs of newly forming stars. The Pelican Nebula, itself cataloged as IC 5070, is about 2,000 light-years away. To find it, look northeast of bright star Deneb in the high flying constellation Cygnus. via NASA
