Gap House is a minimalist residence located in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, designed by Archihood WXY. Being an area that has a couple of universities nearby, a demand for student studio-type accommodations have significantly risen in the past years. Being contiguous with Seoul, the office working, white-collared demographic has also joined the frenzy and has been a factor in the demand for residential units as well. Due to this, the area has become very crowded with multi-dwelling units, studios and student accommodations.
“This path, made yellow by the falling gingko leaves, is found on Namiseom Island. This place has long been known as a beautiful island, but it became more famous through the Korean drama Winter Sonata. It is an artificial island made by the construction of Cheongpyeong Dam. Today, it is known not only for its natural beauty but also for its environmental, cultural, and artistic aspects. No cars are admitted on the island, but you can rent a bike to tour the whole island.”
