“This leaf isn’t just the past, it’s a whole future that never happened. There are billions and millions of unlived days for every day we live. An infinity. All the days that never came. And these are all my mum’s.”
My poster celebrating 5 years since The Rings of Akhaten and the most important leaf in human history.
You know, it’s the oldest story in the universe, this one or any other. Boy and girl fall in love, get separated by events, war, politics, accidents in time. She’s thrown out of the hex, or he’s thrown into it. Since then they’ve been yearning for each other across time and space, across dimensions. This isn’t a ghost story, it’s a love story.
Sometimes when I think about the fact that there hasn’t been (and maybe never will be) a Whouffaldi kiss, I remind myself of this. Twelve had a memory of kissing Clara! Hopefully he regains that memory and wants to repeat it in the Christmas special 😉
