Why was it so hard for Ten to move on after Doomsday?

Oh my dear, sweet Nonny…

Because, when you look at someone like this…

or like this…

When you look at each other like…

Or especially

When you hug like this…

And like this…

And like this…

And like this…

And like this…

When you kiss like this…

and this…

When you’ve promised…

When you’ve learned…

And that…

And when you’ve decided…

How do you get over that?

Happy 34th Birthday, Ninomiya Kazunari! ♥

This song is about the fragility and kind of breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where it was kind of living day-to-day, wondering where it was going, if it was gonna go anywhere, if it was gonna end the next day.

It was a relationship where you never feel like you’re standing on solid ground.

idk if this really matters at this point now that we know Altean magic users exist but I noticed in ep1 where Alfor causes Allura to fall asleep, was that a spell? (it's blue rather than purpleish pink so may just be more Altean tech) has that clue been here since the beginning & we just didn't notice? Also could what we're refering to as magic just be the ability to manipulate quintessence?

My current working theory on magic in the Voltron universe is that it all ties into the ability to manipulate quintessence and that it’s one and the same thing. This fits with the genre conventions of science fantasy, but also with the show itself: quintessence and magic appear interchangeable, and all the ‘magic’ on the show seems to tie into quintessence somehow.

e.g.: when Haggar and the Druids ‘power-up’ Zarkon at the beginning of 1x03, it looks like they’re doing Druid magic:

But immediately after, Zarkon says: “This quintessence gives me so much power” as if magic/quintessence are essentially the same thing. Again: this is pretty standard for science fantasy, where it’s usual for all the in-universe “magic” to be attributed to some sort of power or energy or ‘life-force’.

the world of ice and fire + argella durrandon and orys baratheon

For a few days it was feared that Storm’s End might suffer the same fate as Harrenhal, for Argilac’s daughter Argella barred her gates at the approach of Orys Baratheon and the Targaryen host, and declared herself the Storm Queen. Rather than bend the knee, the defenders of Storm’s End would die to the last man, she promised when Queen Rhaenys flew Meraxes into the castle to parley. “You may take my castle, but you will win only bones and blood and ashes,” she announced… but the soldiers of the garrison proved less eager to die. That night they raised a peace banner, threw open the castle gate, and delivered Lady Argella gagged, chained, and naked to the camp of Orys Baratheon.

It is said that Baratheon unchained her with his own hands, wrapped his cloak around her, poured her wine, and spoke to her gently, telling her of her father’s courage and the manner of his death. And afterward, to honour the fallen king, he took the arms and words of the Durrandon for his own. The crowned stag became his sigil, Storm’s End became his seat, and Lady Argella his wife. They would go on to have several children, each inheriting the black hair of their parents and the famous deep blue eyes of the Durrandon.

“I know we’re supposed to be brave paladins and defenders of the universe, or whatever. But honestly, I just wanna go home.”

Arrow! Black arrow! I have saved you to the last. You have never failed me and always I have recovered you. I had you from my father and he from of old. If ever you came from the forges of the true king under the Mountain, go now and speed well!

SKAM Season 2 - Noora Amalie Sætre

“Is that what you say to yourself? That you’re so sorry for yourself that you just can’t fault your own behaviour? Anyways it’s not true. People experience horrible things everyday, and they still manage to be nice to others. Being an asshole is not something you’re born with, or something you become. It’s a choice.

“Mrs Czerny?”

Both of Noah’s parents’ heads turned to her. Blue selfconsciously ran a hand down one of her pieces of lace. “I’m Blue Sargent. I, uh, wanted to say that I’m sorry for your loss. Also, my mother’s a psychic. I have a” - already their expressions were transforming unpleasantly - “message from your son.”
Immediately, Mrs Czerny’s face darkened. She merely shook her head and said, quite calmly, “No, you don’t.”
“Please don’t do this,” said Mr Czerny. It was taking all he had to be civil, which was better than she’d expected. Blue felt bad for having interupted their private moment. “Please just go.”
  Tell her, whispered Noah.
Blue took a breath. “Mrs Czerny, he’s sorry for drinking your birthday schnapps.”
For a moment there was silence. Mr Czerny and Noah’s sisters looked from Blue to Noah’s mother. Noah’s father opened his mouth and then Mrs Czerny started to cry.
None of them noticed when Blue walked away from the grave.
