I set my alarm on 3am in the morning. No I’m not a psychopath and I really love to sleep but Tom just happened to be on a whole different time zone than me. It’s been a little bit over four months since he entered a plain to fly off to film his new movie. It’s been hard. It’s been lonly. Really lonly. This distance thing was just not compatible with my emotional state and I was having a hard time. So was he. That’s the reason why I woke up at three am in the morning everyday to see his stupid face.
My alarm went off and I shut my eyes open being a little baffled for a moment. As I remembered what my alarm was for I reached for my phone and unlocked it.
Seconds later I could see Tom facetiming me and I accepted his call with a sleepy smile.
“Hey.”,I said and rolled onto my back rubbing my eyes, trying to get rid of the slight burning sensation.
“You’re really tired aren’t you?”,he said and I put my hands away immediatly.
“No? Who said that? I could run a marathon.”,I joked and winked at him.
“Shut up. You wouldn’t run a marathon at anytime of the day.”,he chuckled and I smiled again.
“You know me.”,I said and we both fell silent staring at each other and I felt my heart sink.
“I really miss you Tom.”, I finally said and my voice sounded chocked up, not as confident as I would want it to be and he sighed.
“I miss you too.”, he said and ran his fingers through his hair looking really stressed which made me worry.
“Don’t worry about it. You just have a month left.”,I said quickly and put a smile on, which didn’t feel all that real. My heart was pounding in my chest and I couldn’t put my finger on why.
“Tell me about your schedule. What’s next?”,I added and changed the subject to take his mind of the real issue.
“Oh…uh-..there is this event we’re working for which really stresses me out because it is a huge deal. There’ll be an after party to that. I don’t really know if I’ll go there, I have to do this other thing which still needs a lot of work and I’m not even sure…”
“Hey.”,I interrupted him and he looked up into the camera .
“It’s all going to be fine. Don’t stress yourself.”,I tried to calm him but he rolled his eyes.
“Yeah that’s easy for you to say.”,he said and even though I knew that he was salty because of all things he told me about, his attitude still bugged me.
“No need to be an ass about it.”,I said with furrowed brows and he ran his fingers through his hair again. Rougher this time.
“I know! I’m sorry. It’s just so overwhelming and you’re so far away and I just can’t…concentrate.”,he groaned and pressed his palms over his eyes.
“Did you tell Harrison about this, T?”,I asked now really worried but he shook his head.
“It doesn’t matter anyways. I just have to get it done.”,he said and seemed to be annoyed but I couldn’t quite tell why.
“That’s not true. It does matter. I don’t want you to get sick Tom. Please talk to him.”,I tried to convince him but he let his shoulders sink.
“I gotta go, Y/N. We’ll start shooting soon.”
“I love you, darling.”,he said and blew me a kiss.
“Tom!”,I said now more persistent but he just cracked a half smile and waved into the camera.
“I love you too, dumbass. Go be awesome now.”,I said finally and and waved back before he hung up. It’s not really necessary to tell you that I didn’t sleep well that night. Might as well have ran a marathon. Would have been less tiring.
The nice thing about our relationship was that there were no hard feelings after a little argument like that. We just kept going on with our lives because we understood each other. I knew he was being a little butthurt because of the stress and it was understandable.
The next day I didn’t set my alarm because I waited it to be 3am like a psychopath. I was holding my phone in my hand excitedly and smiled to myself. As soon as it was 3:00am I dialled his number and waited with a big grin on my face for him to pick up.
“Hey pretty girl. What’s up?”,he picked up and I squealed while jumping up and down.
“Gues what?!”,I said inbetween my excitement and pressed my palm against my lips.
“What?”,he laughed and his eyes were glowing with curiosity which made me even happier.
“We got it! We got the apartment we were rooting for!”,I exclaimed and and threw my fists into the air.
“Did we really?!”,he said and got up from where he was standing.
“Yes. Yes. Yes! The agent called today. I didn’t want to wake you up from your sleep. You barely get any.”,I said and smiled from ear to ear.
“I wish I could’ve been there. I wish I could hold you right now.”,he sighed and let himself fall onto the couch in his trailer.
“I know. Me too. But keep your head up. We will be having our own apartment soon. Do you know what that means? I’ll be always there when you come home. Even if it is late in the night and you can come cuddle with me or not. I mean we can do lots of other things in bed, you know…Try to think of that.”,I teased him and he playfully glared at me.
“Can I tell you something?”,he asked suddenly. We fell silent and were just enjoying each others company when he broke the silence. I knew he would, I waited for him to break it because I knew something was troubling him. He had this restless expression on his face where he would furrow his brows slightly and chew on his bottom lip.
“Of course. Shoot.”,I said and looked at my feet which were leaned up against the wall. Was that a different shade of blue on my right foot? Damn it.
“I’m having troubles.”
My head shot to my phone and I saw him look down on his feet. But I didn’t say anything because I saw that he needed time to process what he was going to say.
“I’m really having a hard time over here.”, he said and fell silent for quiet some time and panick started to rise in my chest.
“What is it Tom? You can tell me.”,I assured him with a gentle voice and wished he was right next to me so I could lay my arm around him or just take his hand in mine.
He opened his mouth to go on when suddenly I heared a knock on his door.
“Wait a second…”,he said and put his phone on to the table so that I watched the ceiling for a couple of minutes.
“Darling, I need to go. There is a complication with the event next week.”,he said as he picked his phone up and I nodded.
“Yeah, thought so. Go. I’ll call you tomorrow. We really do need to talk Tom.”,I said carefully and he nodded but was lost in his thoughts.
“Love you.”,he said and after I told him also, he was gone.
That was our last nice moment I would ever remember about us. That was also the only moment he tried to tell me about his issues.
From that day on everything began to go downhill. While I wad at home, trying to organize the apartment thing, being excited, Tom was stressed.
“Tom?“I asked for the third time and he snapped.
“What? Y/N I really don’t have time for this and I don’t really care right now! I’m trying to organize last things about the event in three days and you are asking me about a contract? Hell I don’t know okay? I don’t care! ”,he almost yelled and I was shocked. He sighed and started massaging his temples with his free hand, obviously annoyed with me. The thing that I was bothering him with and that he didn’t really care about was our future. That hit me right in the guts. I was only asking him about when we’d be able to sign the contract. A simple question. I felt a knot build in my throat and my eyes started watering and I became angry with myself. I looked down not wanting him to see how much he got to me.
“Darling, I’m sorry. Everyone is pressuring me right now. I didn’t mean to take it out on…”
“I think we should hang up.”,I interrupted him and didn’t look up, trying to gather myself together before I would look into his eyes.
“Y/N please! I didn’t mean-…I wasn’t…”
“I need to go Tom. Go finish your work. I’ll finish mine.”,I interrupted him again and he fell silent.
“Bye.”,I only said and hung up on him without waiting for an answer.
He called four times after I hung up and sent me three messages but I ignored all of them. If I talk to him right now, this is going to become a huge argument. We’re both on the edge of our nerves and we don’t need to stress that.
We didn’t talk for three days in which his important event happened. I had time to cool off and called him the morning after the event but he didn’t pick up. He was probably asleep with a huge headache. I smiled to myself imagening him having a hangover and sleeping it out, on his belly, face burried into the pillow. I called him five hours later but he didn’t pick up. Now it was getting a little weird because he should be awake by now. I shrugged my shoulders and decided to wait and not push him. He was probably still busy. Post event things? Who knows. I made myself a nice cup of sugary tea and chose a movie to watch while I waited for him to call back.
But he didn’t.
I called him the following two days three times a day but he did not answer once. Finally, it was a thursday night, I called Harrison when my alarm went off at 3am in the morning.
“Hey!”,he picked up and I exhaled thankfully.
“Harrison! Thank god! Is Tom with you?”,I said immediatly and and walked up and down in my living room.
“Y/N! Hey- yeah,uh…i mean no. He is not. He is…out?”,he stuttered and I furrowed my brows.
“Harrison.”,I said with a warning tone.
“Alright I’m officially stepping out of this. You guys need to talk. That’s all I’m going to say. No Tom I won’t shut up. You shut up. Gosh! You’re the one with the problem and I am…”, he kept talking but the rest got cut off as he hung up. Oh shit. This was about the other night. I broke his heart. I should have been supporting him through his stressfull times but I blocked him. I pushed him away.
I took my phone and wrote him a message.
I fucked up. I am so sorry for pushing you away when you needed me the most. I’m sorry for being a bitch (even though you were a dick to me before that but that is long forgiven)
Tom, I always want to be by your side even if you have to be away for several months for shooting and promo. I’ll be done with college in a year and than I’ll be able to travel with you. We’ll have the best time of our lives. I’ll be waiting for your return in two weeks. We’ll talk this out when you come back, just know that I still love you. From all my heart.
I sent it and waited for an answer with a big smile on my face. The smile faded with every passing minute. He didn’t reply and I was left a crying mess the whole night. I messed up big time.
I came back from college the next day feeling numb the whole time and threw myself on the couch. I didn’t eat much and my body felt sore. I was watching a TV show when someone knocked on the door. When I looked at the clock I wondered who it could be. It was past midnight.
When I opened the door I couldn’t believe my eyes.
“Tom?!”,I squealed and threw myself around his neck, pulling his body close to mine, breathing in his scent.
“What are you doing here?! Come in!”,I said and pulled him inside closing the door behind us.
“I missed you so much.”, I sighed and pulled him towards me again and placed my lips against his. It took him some time to kiss me back but when he did I felt my heart lighten. Like a weight was lifted from my shoulders.
He pulled away after a few seconds and stepped back. I was going to say something but he held me off.
“We need to talk.”,he said and his chocked up voice made my body stiffen.
“What is it?”,I said and furrowed my brows worriedly.
He looked up from the floor and I thought my heart stopped when he looked into my eyes. His beautiful brown eyes were red and watery from crying, his lips were trembling and swollen because of the constant biting.
“Tom what happened?”, I said now panick rising in my voice and then it hit me.
“First I want you to know that I still love you with all my heart and I am so, so sorry for what happened. You’re the only one I love, you have to believe me…”
“What happened?”,I interrupted him and formed my hands into fists by my side trying to controll my rising anger. This couldn’t be happening.
“I cheated on you.”
My world stopped spinning. My heart stopped pounding. Everything was awefully silent. It was too loud.
“What did you say?”
“Please, you have to listen to me! I’m begging you. I didn’t mean to…I was anxious and stressed. Frustrated really. I know these aren’t excuses for what I did but…”
“Did you kiss her?”,I interrupted him without listening to him and he held his breath.
“Answer me! Did you?!”,I screamed and he nodded.
“Did-…Did you sleep with her?”
I fucked up. I am so sorry. My words echoed in my head. I am so fucking dumb.
Before I knew what I did I already had smacked him right across his face. My whole body was shivering and it felt like the room was spinning.
A sobb escaped my throat and I pressed my palm against my mouth to stop the rest. I just threw myself at him and kissed him like a fucking moron! My sight got blurry because of the tears in my eyes and finally they escaped. It was a silent cry. One where you know that it has no point. One you know, will destroy you.
I stumbled back slowly and shook my head trying to get rid of the images my mind made up of him being tangled in bed with another.
“Please you need to listen to me. It was a big mistake. You have to believe me. I don’t even know her. It just…happened. I was confused and on edge. I am so sorry. Please forgive me. I need you to…”
“Shut up. Shut up! Shut the fuck up!”, I screamed and pulled at my own hair while shaking my head furiously. And then I went mad. I stormed towards him and started throwing punches and pushed him backwards out of the room while yelling at him.
“Get out! Get the fuck out! I don’t want to see you. Leave!”
I slammed the door shut and slid to the floor balling my eyes out for the love of my life. He did the same thing on the other side of the door.
The alarm in my bedroom went off. It was time to call him.
Your hand absentmindedly reached up to rub the remaining sleep from your eyes as you readjusted your bag strap on your shoulders. Glancing down at your phone for the time before you pushed open the door to the hospital, bidding a short good morning to the guard by the enterence.
When you looked back up from your phone, you saw Shaun standing right in the center of the lobby. He was dressed in his usual blue scrubs and coat, he was looking right at you until your gazes met. He gave you a stiff wave and then kept his eyes on his folded hands.
“Dr. Murphy?” You said as you walked up to him, hands in your pockets. “You’re early today.”
“Yes, I am,” Shaun reaffirmed, clearing his throat as he looked back at you. “You weren’t here yesterday.”
You shook your head. “No, I wasn’t. But I’m fine now, no need to worry.”
“I did though,” He said over you. “I was worried something had happened because you weren’t sleeping. Did you rest like you promised?”
You smiled. “Yes, I did. I’m sorry for making you worry. It was just a bug is all, Claire told me she’d give me a stern talking to if I didn’t stay home till I felt better.”
“Why don’t you take care of yourself?” Shaun asked after a short pause.
It took you a second to get back from the minor shock of being asked such a blunt question. “I do take care of myself.” You said with a short laugh.
“But you just said Claire was the one who made you take off work even though you were sick. And she told me you had a very long history of doing this kind of thing.”
You remained silent, and Shaun took it as a sign to elaborate further.
“I understand that as a doctor your schedule isn’t always the same, but you should try to make sure you’re healthy and-”
“Uhm, I should probably-” You broke to point aimlessly in some direction. “-I should go get my scrubs on. I’ll see you later.”
Shaun couldn’t even think of a response before you all but sprinted away from him to your locker.
Shaun didn’t see you for the rest of the day, even on the busiest of days; he’d always manage to at least catch a glance of you. But it was like you weren’t even in the hospital again.
After his shift was over, Shaun was quick to change into street clothes; practically shoving his coat on as he quickly walked to the main enterence lobby.
He looked around, seeing the usual receptionist and guard that covered the night shifts, and a couple people hanging around the sitting area as they read magazines or talked to one another while drinking out of cheap, plastic coffee cups.
You usually left late, so he figured he’d wait around and catch you before you left. He didn’t fully understand what had made you so upset, but it felt like it was something he said.
Shaun looked down at his phone to look at the time, fifteen minutes had past and still nothing.
He continued to do the same thing, checking precisely every fifteen minutes for around two hours. Looking up everytime he heard footsteps; expecting to see you walking up to the doors or tying back your hair.
He took another look at the time, Shaun would have to leave now if he wanted to catch the bus home. He looked up one final time, glancing at the various enters into the lobby, but no one came by.
Shaun stood up, sliding his phone into his pocket as he started towards the exit. Maybe he could find you tomorrow.
Shaun stood in front of the mirror, ruffling around his hair as he looked down at his phone for the time. He was at least half an hour ahead of his normal schedule, wanting to get at the hospital so he was certain he’d catch you come into work.
But when he went into the hospital as usual, you were now the one standing in the middle of the room; waiting on him.
You weren’t dressed in your scrubs, but Shaun saw you rocking back and forth on your feet and you gave him a small smile when you two saw each other.
“Morning, Shuan,” You said when you walked up to him. “How was the bus ride here?”
“Normal, well not exactly, I was early so the usual people weren’t there.” Shaun explained.
You nodded. “I wanted to say sorry, for avoiding you yesterday.”
“I had planned on talking to you about it,” He looked down at you. “I was worried that you’d still be upset with me.”
“Oh no, I wasn’t upset with you. I think I was upset with myself because I knew you were right and I had to confront the issue; I wanted to ignore it for a little longer.”
“Well good,” Shaun said with a nod. “Are we still friends?”
“Course,” You affirmed with a laugh. “I would never be upset with someone for something so trivial. I know you had good intentions when you asked me about it.”
Shaun nodded again. “Good,” He repeated, not entirely sure how to carry on the conversation.
You inhaled, your shoulders rising slightly as you did so. “I should go get ready for work, I’m sure Claire’s trying to hunt me down as we speak.”
Imagine Chris helping you take care of your little sister.
A/N: I know it’s been a while, I’ve been suffering from good old writer’s block. Anyway, here’s a piece. I think there may be a part 2 to this, but don’t quote me. We’ll see how the response for this one is. X
Your little sister, Olive, watched cartoons in your living room with your boyfriend, Chris, while you stood in your kitchen on the phone with your mom. The two of you were in the argument of your life thanks to the actions of the youngest member in your family. Your eight year old sister had managed to ditch school after her nanny dropped her off, and somehow found her way to your apartment which was two hours away. As upset as the two of you were at her, you couldn’t help but be amazed by her; she’d only ever been to your apartment with the company of another adult, how she remembered the directions and the address was beyond you.
“Do you think you can watch Olive for a few hours?” Your mom asked and you sighed. “I know you’ve got a big meeting later, but I’ve got a client coming in in about fifteen minutes and your dad’s still operating. I’d send Zoe, but she’s clearly fired after today.” You tried to get a word in but she interrupted, “it’s just a few hours, Y/N.”
“Mom, I can’t risk missing today’s meeting,” you argued. “It’s down to me and-”
“I know, sweetheart,” she said then sighed, “look. I promise I’ll be there before you have to go, I just have to take this client and I’ll cancel the rest of my day. Just give me a few hours,” she told you and you sighed again. “It’s too bad Chris is in Houston, otherwise he could help babysit Olive. He lives for that stuff,” she chuckled softly and you did the same; that was true, he loved her.
“Actually-” you began then winced when you remembered both of you had wanted to keep his return a secret. He had come back a week early to surprise you and he had told no one so he could spend the week with you with no interruptions, but desperate times. “Chris got back early to surprise me, his plane landed at like four in the morning.”
“Great, do you-”
“Mom,” you frowned, “did you not hear what I just said? His plane landed at like four in the morning, he’s exhausted and he needs some sleep. Just-” you ran a hand through your hair; your stress levels were starting to build up. “Finish-” Chris snatched your phone out of your hand before you could say anymore.
“Hi Mom,” Chris greeted your mom, smiling at you even though you were frowning at him. “Thank you, it’s really good to be home. Can’t say I miss your daughter’s angry face though,” he poked your side and your lips quirked slightly. “Don’t worry, I’m more than happy to watch Olive. No, it’s fine. I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to take a nap with me,” he joked then chuckled at something your mom said. “Sure, we’ll talk to you later.” With a smile, he hung up.
“You didn’t have to do that,” you told him as he put the phone down on the kitchen counter. “I know you’re exhausted.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “She’s not your responsibility, Chris. She’s my sister and-” He cut you off with a quick peck on your lips.
“She’s going to be my sister when I marry you,” he whispered, pressing his forehead against yours; you smiled at the thought of him proposing after being together for four years. “Relax, okay? I know I said I was going to sleep while you were at your meeting, but I can sleep when I’m dead.” You chuckled at that. “C'mon,” he took your hand and led you out of the kitchen and into the living room. “She thinks you’re mad at her and I know you’re not, so go tell her that.”
Olive was still sitting on the couch with her eyes glue to the television, but you could tell from the guilty look on her face that she hadn’t been watching Tom&Jerry. You and Chris stood in the archway and watched her; you were yet to decide if you were upset with her. It didn’t take you long to decide because this was your baby sister, no matter what she did or said- there wouldn’t be a day where you wouldn’t have a soft spot for her.
“Are you mad at me?” Olive sheepishly asked, looking over at you. You sighed with a small smile as you made your way over to her. “I’m really sorry, Sissy. I know you had a big meeting today, I just didn’t-” You knelt down in front of her as her pretty brown eyes welled with tears. “I’m so sorry,” she started to cry.
“Don’t be, sweet pea.” You took her small hands in yours. “It’s only a meeting, okay?” You lied to her, “I can always reschedule.” You pulled one hand away and lifted her chin with your index finger. “Don’t cry, sweetheart. It’s not important, it’s just a meeting. You’re okay,” you brushed her tears away with your hand.
“But Mom and Dad both said that it’s important,” she sniffled. “They said it’s about big movie deal and that if you miss it, you’re going to lose the job and get into big trouble with your agent. I knew that and I still came, I’m so sorry. I’m going to ruin your career,” she wept and your heart ached.
“She’s not going to miss her meeting, bug.” Chris walked over and sat down next to Olive, wrapping a comforting arm around her small frame. “Don’t worry, she’s going to go to her meeting and you’re going to hang out with me. It’s okay,” he gently rubbed her arm. “Hey,” he said and she looked up at him, sniffling. “Your sister’s career is not that easy to ruin, she’s dating a dumb dork and she’s still one of the highest ranking actresses in Hollywood.” He joked, drawing soft giggles from Olive, and a chuckle from you. “There’s that smile,” he poked her cheek and her giggles became louder.
“Why don’t you tell us why you ditched school?” You asked and saw her facials contorted with angst. “We can’t help you if you don’t tell us, Olive.” You told her when she looked hesitant to tell you and Chris; she glanced between the both of you, chewing on the inside of her cheek.
“You’re friends with Captain America for a reason, bug.” Chris whispered in her ear and she managed a small smile. “Whatever it is, I promise you that I will do everything in my power to protect you. Just tell us what happened,” he gently urged.
Her head dropped and she whispered softly, “everybody thinks I’m weird.” She looked up and continued, “they all think it’s impossible that I’m your sister. Nobody believes me when I tell them, they say that we are nothing alike and that I’m lying when I say I know you and Chris. But I’m not lying, Sissy.” She lowered her gaze and mumbled to herself, “I’m not lying.”
“I know you’re not,” you chuckled softly, lifting her chin so you could meet her gaze. “How can it be a lie when we’re right in front of you?” She smiled when you booped her nose. “Baby, people are going to say what they’re going to say. You can’t stop that, but you can stop letting it affect you. It doesn’t matter what they think because you are my sister and you do know us.”
“Yeah,” Chris nodded. “You’re the one that gets to come to our premieres, you’re the one that gets to hang out on our sets, you’re the one I carry on my shoulders at football games and have tickle fights with.” He reminded her, playfully tickling her sides and making her laugh. “Not your school mates,” he told her, smiling. “So who cares what they think? They’re just jealous they don’t have the same opportunities you do. Just keep your head up, play it cool, and it’ll blow over soon.”
“Yeah,” you agreed. “And if it doesn’t, I think Captain America and I can drop by and pick you up after school one day.” You suggested and she looked between the two of you with a wide grin. “Can’t we, Cap?” You winked at him and he winked back, nodding. “That’ll show them, won’t it?” You asked Olive and she nodded excitedly. “But you have to promise me something if you want that to happen.”
“Anything,” she nodded.
“Don’t ever do something like this again,” you told her with slightly narrowed eyes and she lowered her gaze sheepishly. “What if something happened to you on your way here, Olive? You’re eight years old, someone could’ve just grabbed you off the street.” You scolded. “This was a very stupid thing to do, you know that right?”
“I know, but-” she looked up, trying to argue but was cut off by your glare; Chris pressed his lips together, suppressing his smile because it seemed like that glare of yours worked on anyone. “I know,” she mumbled, lowering her gaze once more. “I won’t do it again, Sissy.”
“Good,” you softened your facials. “To be honest, I’m more impressed than upset. How on earth did you find your way here by yourself?” You asked as you rose to your feet; your eyes narrowed when you saw your boyfriend and your sister share a knowing smile. “Is that why your bagel run took so long, because you drove two hours to pick her up?”
“No, it took so long because the line was ridiculously long,” he stuck with his story and you shot him a weary look. “And I had to wait for Scott to drop her off,” he added then pressed his lips together. “What?” He chuckled when you scoffed. “She texted me and told me she didn’t want to go to school, I mean- have you ever seen me say no to you Y/L/N ladies? Scott was in that area so I asked if he could pick her up and drop her off.”
“How did you know Chris was coming back?” You asked Olive.
“Because he told me he was coming home early to surprise you,” she giggled. “He’s also-”
“Uh uh,” Chris cut her off, laughing, his hand over her mouth. “You’ve said too much already.”
“What are you talking about?” You raised an eyebrow.
“Nothing,” Chris smiled. “You should go get ready for your meeting, don’t you also have some emails and whatnots to attend to?” He quizzed and you nodded, narrowing your eyes at his odd behavior. “Go on,” he beckoned his head towards your home office. “We’ll be fine, we’re just going to watch some Tom&Jerry. Right, Olive?” He asked her and she nodded, noising agreement into his hand.
“Whatever,” you chuckled softly and made your way into the home office.
In the living room, Chris and Olive discussed out of your earshot. “She has no clue you’re going to propose, does she?” Olive asked her soon-to-be brother-in-law, giggling. “I am so excited!” She squealed, hopping off the couch. “When are you going to do it? Can I see the ring? Please, Chris? Can I see it?” She jumped up and down; Chris laughed and rose to his feet, picking her up with one arm and spinning her.
“How about you quiet down before you ruin the surprise?”
Harry was very good at the art of manipulation. Sometimes, he was too good up to the point where you couldn’t differentiate whether or not he was being genuine or not. You supposed the fact that he was now sort of an actor contributed to how suspiciously talented he was at persuading people to get what he wanted - but out of everyone in the world, the person he liked to get flustered the most was none other than you. He wasn’t doing it because he was a bad person - he just loved you so much, he wanted all of you all the time!
“Ooh, I’m going to be late to class.” Watching animal documentaries was never a good idea because you always got so wrapped up in them and ended up spending hours surfing the internet in an attempt to answer your question of ‘is a newborn Chinese water deer really small enough to hold in the palm of your hand?’ (Spoiler alert: the answer was yes.)
“Wha- But you said you didn’t have to go anywhere today…” Harry frowned lightly, pawing at your bum when you leaned over the table to pick up your slew of loose paper and textbooks.
“That’s what I thought, and then Y/F/N reminded me that we have a test coming up in two weeks and I need to study. I’m sorry, bug. Maybe next week!” You turned to give Harry a pitiful smile, hoping that your cute nickname for him would prevent Harry from pulling out the big guns.
“But we were jus’ about to get to the good part of the documentary!”
“Then I’ll watch it with you when I get back!” You patted yourself down to try and find your phone, letting out an ‘ah’ when you spotted it on top of a pile of books. “I’ll only be three, four hours. Five hours maximum.” You waved off, catching a glimpse of a pouting Harry in the corner of your eye. Oh, god. He was about to do something that was going to make you stay, and you couldn’t stay! Where the hell was all your stuff?! You needed to get out of here as quickly as possible! What else could you say to stall??
“Five hours is a basically a whole day, and-”
“How about I bring you your favourite banana smoothie? Y’know, from that overpriced, organic place across from campus.” You smiled, grabbing your car keys off the table as your eyes flickered around to try and find your history textbook - you certainly couldn’t go into class without a damn textbook.
“I don’ want one.” Harry murmured, crossing his arms and leaning back against the couch. “S’not fair, you said we were going to spend today together. I canceled brunch for you! Brunch!”
“I’ll take you out for brunch next week to make up for it!” You went straight for the door as soon as you gathered all your things, and your fingers had just brushed over the door handle when suddenly you heard a dramatic sob leave Harry’s mouth.
“Don’ you love me anymore??” Harry cried out, leaning down and covering his eyes with a hand. No. You couldn’t fall into this trap. You had been in this situation before and you knew exactly what to do. You just had to stay strong, confident, and not give in to Harry.
“Harry, of course I love you!” You cooed, immediately dropping your bags and rushing over to your ‘grieving’ boyfriend. You wrapped your arms around him, rubbing him back comfortingly as he shoved his face into the crook of your neck. The little voice in your mind called you out for giving in so soon, but you couldn’t help it. You didn’t like seeing Harry upset because you were used to him being a ball of sunshine all the time, and knowing that you were the cause of him being sad?? No thank you. (See, he made you overthink and overanalyze which was a key part in how easy it was to manipulate you.)
“But you always wanna leave me to go ‘n study with Y/F/N…”
“But you know I obviously want to stay home and watch documentaries with you instead of study…” You pulled Harry away from your neck, cupping his face in between your hands. It was funny how he was supposedly crying thirty seconds ago yet his eyes were as dry as the desert. It was just the puppy eyes and that damn pout that got you every single time.
“So you should stay home since that’s what you want… Isn’t it?” Harry asked innocently, pulling you closer to him as he sat against the arm of the couch.
“I mean, I guess, but I do need to study…” It was too late to try and think about leaving the house considering Harry already had you leaning against his chest with an arm wrapped around you.
“But you can do that at home, can’t you?” Now that you were looking at it, it did make sense to study at home. There were no distractions (besides Harry) around, you could snuggle in bed (with Harry) while reading… Looks like Harry had manipulated you and taken over your thoughts as well.
A/N: Sorry this took a while to get out, I’ve been busy with work again. Feedback is welcomed and very much appreciated. Hope you all enjoy it, as always, thank you for reading <3

Pairing: Gibbs x Reader
46. “Can I kiss you?” 52. “I think you might be pregnant.” 57. “Here take my jacket.”
This wasn’t the first time you’d felt this overwhelming sensation in your stomach, it had been happening on a regular basis over the past three weeks. You were warned of a bug going around last month but you were positive that it would have gotten out of your system by now with keeping yourself hydrated.
The smell of fresh blood within the living room of the crime scene had become so powerful and potent that you had to place a hand over your mouth and nose. A dry heave came from your throat causing the three pairs of eyes turn in your direction.
Request: Hi! I was wondering if you could please do one where the cast of CACW , seb and his pregnant wife ( she’s part of the cast ) go to an interview and she goes into labor and everyone freaks out? Thanks!
Pairing: Sebastian x Reader (ft. The cast of CW)
A/N: I wrote this quickly on my phone so it’s really short I’m so sorry!
Acting wasn’t always easy for you. You had been in a few films in the past, maybe about 10 to 15? You were always nervous on camera, so that’s why you liked doing theater the best. That was until you met the love of your life on set, Sebastian.
The two of you met in 2005 for the filming of a certain film called The Covenant. You played the part of his girlfriend, so you had to exchange a few kissing scenes with him at the time. You would always laugh and mutter “I’m so sorry - okay. Let’s try this again” because you were either nervous or someone did something to make you loose it.
Sebastian caught onto this habit of yours so during the middle of filming, he asked if he could help you with your shyness and asked you out for coffee. You agreed and soon after that, you had gotten better at acting and hiding your nervous bug that ticked whenever you did something. You were happy that you met up with him every week to study the arts because if you hadn’t, you wouldn’t be here at an interview with the cast of Captain America: Civil War with your husband and the little life you were carrying in your belly.
Civil War was your newest project you’d been working on. You couldn’t give anymore details to your huge fan base, because that would ruin the surprise.
You were in Age of Ultron before Civil War, and people liked your role of Spider-Woman so much, The Russo Brothers just had to squeeze you in for a role in the action film.
Here you are, wearing a nice long, wavy, dark red dress that hugged your curves, especially your expecting area, quite nicely. Underneath, you wore flats just to be comfortable during the interview.
The interview was in London and you and Sebastian just arrived right in time. You saw the stage and saw that it had two rises with chairs on both black rises, and an interviewer’s podium to the right.
“Hey, Seabass!” Anthony Mackie said, coming up from behind you and Sebastian backstage. You smiled as the two of them hugged and exchanged conversations.
“And hello to you too, (Y/N).” Anthony said. “You’re lookin’ great for a lady that’s expecting!” He said, giving you a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
You laughed at his remark. “Thanks, Mackie.”
The other cast members came in, along with The Russos, and everyone started engaging in conversation. You all started talking before it was time to go on stage.
“You ready, babe?” Sebastian asked as he hugged your side, kissing your temple.
You smiled. “Course I am.” You said as you put your hands on your belly.
The announcer started introducing everyone, and by name, they started sitting down on the black chairs that were assigned to them.
“And next, we have (Y/F/N) as Spider-Woman!” The lady said. That was your que to go onstage, so you straightened your posture.
“That’s you, Hun.” Sebastian said. You walked down to the stage, looking at the big audience of fans and the press. You waved at all of them, as they screamed in excitement. You took your seat next to Elizabeth as she got up and hugged you.
“How are you?” She asked, covering her microphone that was clipped to her red dress.
You sighed, putting a hand on your stomach. You felt the baby kick once they felt your touch. “Me? Bloated. The baby? Angry, apparently.” You said, causing her to laugh.
Sebastian came up next and he took his seat next to you, giving you another kiss before the fans screamed.
As the interviewer announced everyone, and when everyone was onstage, the crowd started to quiet down.
“So, how is everyone tonight?” She asked. Everyone responded with either “good,” or “fantastic.”
“Especially you, (Y/N) since you’re the pregnant one on set.” She said. You sighed and smiled.
“Well, like I just told Lizzie here, bloated. The baby is being a little feisty tonight.” You said. Everyone laughed at your comment as the interviewer started to ask questions to everyone on set.
When almost everyone had a question to answer, the interviewer turned the questions to the crowd. Chris and Robert got the most questions, so you didn’t have to worry about talking. As the interview went on, you tried your hardest not to scream out in pain since the baby kept kicking.
“My question is for (Y/N).” Someone in the crowd said. Finally.
Your attention was brought back up to the crowd. You looked around to find the person and you found them in the middle section. “Go for it.” You smiled, holding your hand up to block the light that was blocking your vision.
“You and Sebastian knew each other since around the 2000s. You both have come this far as to working with each other and your relationship with each other is just - fantastic.” The person began.
“Why thank you.” Sebastian spoke from your side. You laughed as you squeezed his hand with your left.
“I was wondering, how was it to play a pregnant Spider-Woman and how was it to work with your husband on set?” You heard ‘awes’ going around the room, and even from your cast mates.
You took a deep breath and began. “Well, for starters, I just wanna say that it was definitely harder this time to play Jessica because, during AOU, I obviously wasn’t pregnant, so it was a lot easier to maneuver around in that tight ass silk suit.” You said, making everyone laugh. “But, uh, yeah it was not as hard as I thought it would be - Well, I mean now I’m what, a few days away from going into labor? So..I kinda forgot what being smaller felt like.” You laughed.
“Rewind. Did she just say a few DAYS?” Robert asked, facing you next to Chris. You nodded. Everyone was shocked by your answer. Just then, the baby started kicking again.
“But during the process of f-filming, I had to- to do a few shots where I was on a greens..screen and then the fighting scenes were brutal so.. Y-yah..” You said, holding your stomach. “But it was fun doing a film with Sebastian again, this time him being m-my husband, so it was an honor. But he really was a distraction.” You smiled at him as he smirked at you, shaking his head.
Everyone did another round of questions, and then you had another one. Another question, and another kick. “Holy shit” you whispered, holding your stomach.
“(Y/N)?” Lizzie said from your right side, holding your hand. “Everything okay?”
You gave her a tight smile. “I - I think so.”
“My question is for (Y/N)” you heard again. Your ears perked up to the sound of your name, and you looked in the crowd. “Who’s your favorite person to work with onset?” The man asked.
When you were about to respond, you felt a warm liquid roll down your leg. Your eyes widened and you yelled, “Sebastian!”
“Oh, thanks, doll, you didn’t have to say my name but- holy shit!” He said, turning to you. You looked at him with worried eyes as he held your left hand, Lizzie holding your other.
“Are you okay, Mrs (Y/L/N)?” The interviewer asked.
“I, uhm.. This…M-My… My water broke.” You stammered. You squeezed your legs as your breathing started to quicken. Sebastian and Lizzie got up and held you up, Sebastian carrying you bridal style. Everyone gasped as the cast got up.
“This interview is OVER.” Robert said. “See you all soon!” He said before everyone exited.
You waved at everyone and the curtains quickly closed. As you walked backstage, you heard Sebastian yell, “we need an ambulance right now!” He said, setting you down on one of the couches backstage. The cast was running all over the place in worry. Everyone was shouting while Anthony, Jeremy, and Robert got out their phones.
“Seb, it hurts.” You cried, feeling a tear roll down your cheek. He squeezed your hand as you squeezed surprisingly harder.
“I know baby, I know. Breathe - like we practiced alright?” He said. He started doing deep breathes in and out as you mimicked his actions.
“This is incredible!” Paul Rudd said from the couch next to you. You saw Chris practically on the floor from laughing so hard, him clutching Daniel’s left bicep as he laughed too.
You couldn’t help but laugh too as you started giggling, then crying. “OWW…” You said.
“Ambulance is here. Get her in, now!” Emily said as she opened the doors meeting the big ambulance trucks. You got in as Sebastian went in as well. You heard the others say that they’ll meet you at the hospital and Sebastian nodded.
“Deep breaths, doll. Follow me.” Sebastian said next to you. You squeezed his hand as you cried out in pain.
Hours later, you were laying down on the big hospital bed, your cast members crowding the room as they all got the news that the baby had finally been delivered. Sebastian sat on the bed next to you, holding yours and his baby. You smiled at the bundle of joy your husband was holding.
“So, what’s the gender?” Anthony Russo asked, his brother, Joe, holding a camera in hand, capturing the moment to post on Instagram.
You looked at Sebastian, since he didn’t know what the gender was either.
You smiled before you began your sentence. You took a deep breath. “It’s a girl.” You announced. Everyone awed. Some literally jumped for joy, others cheered, and Robert gave Paul Bettany $5. Knowing them, they had already placed a bet. (A BETtany lmaooooo)
You saw Sebastian’s reaction and you couldn’t help but have your eyes filled with tears. You smiled as you reached up to wipe away the tear that escaped his eyes. He bent his head down to pull you into a passionate kiss. He gave you your little girl and you rocked her in your arms.
“Decided on a name?” Kevin asked.
You shrugged and looked at your husband. “After all the names we looked through throughout the months, have you decided?” You asked.
He smiled, wiping away his tears. “I dunno..I kinda like the name Jessica. You know, after your character.”
“Jessica is a perfect name!” Lizzie said.
“You will raise a total asskicking girl then, guys.” Chris said, laughter filled the room.
“Jessica it is then.” You said. “Jessica Rebecca Stan.”
Sebastian nodded as your eyes filled with happy tears. You pulled him by his collar and engulfed him in a kiss once more.
“I never thought we’d have our baby in London.” You said when the two of you pulled back.
You crashed into your apartment door, leaning heavily against it as you tried to collect all of your thoughts. You were staring blankly into the room until you realized how big of a fool you made of yourself in front of Matt. Your hands flew up to cover your eyes as you groaned in embarrassment, trying to push away the events of the night.
You shouldn’t have kissed him back.
It was a mistake.
So then why did you feel so happy when it happend?
You could easily admit that Matthew Murdock was incredibly attractive. But more than that he was so sweet and kind. He had always been supportive of you and genuinely cared about you as a person.
Taking a deep sigh, you pushed yourself off the door and moped into the kitchen, fetching yourself a glass and pouring a healthy amount of wine into it before moving to the couch.
You nursed the glass in your hand, sloshing around the liquid as you tried to come to some kind of conclusion.
You just liked Matt so much, and you worried about him all the time now that you understood just what it is that he does.
Then a thousand scenarios flew into your head and you promptly shut it down.
You should have just left yourself out of it like Matt told you to.
After work, you slowly made your way to Foggy and Matt’s firm, your hand nervously gripping onto the shoulder strap of your satchel as you walked down the street, grimacing when you finally reached the front door.
You didn’t want to show up, but ignoring the place as a whole would have just made it too obvious to everyone.
So, you bucked up and put on a smile as you opened the door.
Karen looked up from her desk and broke out into a grin when she saw you. Standing up from her chair she was quick to pull you into a hug.
“There you are! I was gonna call when you didn’t show up for lunch like usual.” Karen pulled back from the hug and lead you into her office.
“Oh yeah, I was just super caught up at work and time must have gotten away from me.” You told her, digging your hands into your coat pockets as you looked to the ground.
“Oh believe me, I know exactly what that’s like and-” Karen looked up from her desk and the smile slowly fell off her face when she saw your expression. “Something happened, tell me.”
Your head shot up and your eyes went wide. “What?! No!” You let out a shaky laugh and scoffed. “I’m totally fine.”
You took one look into her eyes and your whole facade came tumbling down as you crashed into the seat in front of her. “You have to promise not to tell anyone.” Your voice was as quiet as you could manage.
Karen nodded, moving from around her desk to lean on the front of it, her head inclined towards you so she could hear. “I promise.”
You looked at her with a questioning brow and fell into the back of your chair as your hands preoccupied themselves with your coat buttons. “Last night, Matt and I kissed.”
“What!” Karen shouted, but her hands immediately came to cover her mouth as her eyes bugged out.
She let out a laugh, shaking her head. “Sorry! I’m sorry,” Her voice was much more quiet now. “I just wasn’t expecting that.” Her hand came to tap your shoulder as a glimmer showed up in her eyes. “But yay!”
“No, not yay,” You said, standing up from the chair as you paced the office. “It was…a mistake, I shouldn’t have kissed him back. I don’t know what I was thinking.”
Karen frowned, her hands grabbing into yours as she made you stop in your tracks. “Hey, think about this for a second. Clearly he likes you, and you must feel the same if you kissed him back.”
“And then I kissed him again.” You groaned, head falling onto her shoulder.
“Oh, my sweet summer child,” Karen cooed, and she tried to console you. “I think you should talk to him.”
You pulled away from her, opening your mouth to answer but someone else beat you to it.
“I was wondering when you would stop by.”
You whirled around to find Matt waiting by the door and you jumped back.
“Oh! Hello, Matt.” You said weakly.
“Karen, would you mind if I spoke to (Y/n) for a minute?”
You shot her a pleading glance but she must not have seen it because she pushed you towards him with a smile. “Of course, have her back by 10.”
Matt smiled and held the door open for you before he lead you outside and the two of you started walking down the street.
“I didn’t think you were going to come in today,” Matt commented as he tried not to focus on your heartbeat, wanting to hear you explain yourself.
“Yeah, well,” You shrugged, trying to think of the right words to put together. “I didn’t want Fog or Karen to worry.”
It became silent, but the air surrounding the two of you was one of hesitation and hurt. It was obvious that the both of you had much to say to one another, but neither of you wanted to do it first.
“I don’t think it was a mistake.” Matt spoke up suddenly, causing you to look at him.
“I know that you might think so, but I don’t.”
You stopped walking, brows furrowing together. “How do you know that?”
“Please, it takes a lot more than whispering for me not to hear it.” Matt answered, turning around so he was now facing you.
Your gaze was firmly upon the ground.
You didn’t know how to answer him.
“Can you at least tell me why?” Matt asked, taking a step towards you, but still seemed so distant. “Because I’ve tried to work it out on my own, and I couldn’t.”
You sighed for what felt like the millionth time since you last left his company. “I’m not good at the whole romance thing, you know? I love the idea of love, but when all of a sudden it’s actually staring me in the face I try to run away. It’s…stupid I know.”
Matt shook his head. “No it’s not, lots of people can be like that.”
“You think so?”
“I know so, I used to be one of them. I liked this one girl awhile back, but it didn’t work out and I was devastated.”
“Really? I didn’t know that.” You took his hand. “I’m sorry to hear.”
“It was a long time ago, I’ve moved on.” Matt gave your hand a small squeeze. “I really care about you. I wouldn’t kiss someone I didn’t have feelings for.”
You smiled, looking down at the way your hands were intertwined with one another. “I like you, too.”
Your voice was quiet but Matt didn’t miss it, a small grin appeared on his face as he brought your hand up to kiss the back of it. “I don’t want you to be scared of me, I wouldn’t hurt you.”
“No, I don’t think you would.” You said, freeing your hand from his so you could bring his face down to meet your lips to kiss him.
Matt’s arms instantly wrapped around your waist as he brought you close to him.
When you pulled back your let your hands fall to his shoulders as you felt him press his forehead against yours. “That’s to say sorry for leaving you like that last night.”
Matt chuckled and kissed the end of your nose. “You’re already forgiven, but you are freezing,” He said, pulling back from you and taking your hand. “Let’s get you inside.”
You both made it to the door of the firm before Matt pulled you close again and gave you a short kiss. “I’m sure Karen will be happy to hear the news.”
You flushed bright red and laughed. “Oh god, you heard all that?!”
Matt laughed and walked inside. “I hear everything, didn’t I tell you?”
Announcing the Sonic Origins Background Character Contest!
If you’d like to design a character to appear in the background (Or maybe even the foreground..) of the Sonic Origins, here is your chance.
There are 10 available roles I’m looking to fill:
2 City Guards for Scene 1
3 General Background Characters for Scene 1
5 Child Characters for scene 2
You may either draw a new character design OR enter a pre-existing character design that you’ve made and loved. You may enter up to 3 character designs per person by emailing an image, your name, and your characters name to firstname.lastname@example.org. The title of the email MUST be “Sonic Origins Character Contest Entry” (Yes you can submit multiple images for a single character.) The contest will run from Now to December 30th 2017.
Top winners will have their character appear fully animated in Sonic Origins.
You’ll also receive a model-sheet of your character in full color.
Your art skill does not matter, your creativity matters. Artists of any skill level can enter.
Credits for each character will appear at the end of that episode with your name as its creator. If you are uncomfortable with anything pertaining to rights, email, message, note, or ask me and I’ll try to be as clear as possible.
Characters have to fit into the script and within the roles that have already been written and recorded. Sorry, but you’ll have little to no say in what the character does or how they act. A character may have a specific job in the animation that they might not have in your characters story.
There is no winning by default. I will not pick characters because only so many designs are submitted. I pick them because they fit the role. If none fit the role, then I will design my own.
If your character is chosen, please do not pester about progress or design. Questions are fine, but complaining or bugging about release dates is not. If I do get pestered, I will just remove the character. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Keys to success:
Designs that are easy to draw and color are more likely to win. Spots, patterns, or elaborate clothing is not practical to draw repeatedly.
Characters have to fit into this world and the art style… Meaning that the designs should look somewhat like they belong in the Sonic Universe. No weird creatures or drawings that are NSFW.
I have to repeatedly draw a character, so they will be redrawn by me in the art style that is most animation-ready. Animation-ready means that I may have to parse some details from them to make them easy to draw. Be sure that you are not offended by slight changes in drawings.
“I thought you said this party was going to be ending soon - In fact, that’s what you told me two hours ago!” You groaned, turning back to look at a very wasted Y/F/N before weaving your way through the crowd in the middle of your living room.
Y/F/N giggled, stumbling behind you as she watched you continue to pick up the empty red solo cups, dropping them into the garbage bag. “I said it was going to be over two hours ago cos I thought you’d be brave enough to talk to Harry by then!” She shrugged, leaning against you with her head on your shoulder. You froze for a second, glancing around to see if anyone had heard her. “Why’ve you gone quiet? Don’t you know what I’m talking about?” Y/F/N perked up suddenly, before stepping up onto the coffee table as if to make an announcement to everyone. “I’m talking about your undying love for Harry Style-”
“Y/F/N, get off the table!” You hissed, smiling sheepishly when a couple people looked towards your direction. Luckily, the music was thumping pretty loudly - Maybe no one heard her little outburst. “C’mon, let’s go to the kitchen. I’ll open a pack of animal crackers for you.”
“I don’t know why you’re always so nervous when I bring Harry up. He’s just a guy.” Y/F/N snorted, nearly tripping over her heels when you practically dragged her into the kitchen.
“Why do you always have to bring him up in the first place?” You rolled your eyes, tossing some empty chip bags into the bin. “And he’s not just a guy! He’s.. He’s Harry!” You exclaimed, running a hand through your hair. Sure, it was cheesy of you to say that Harry wasn’t just some ‘guy’, but it was true! It was hard to explain how hard you were crushing on him.
“You’re just flustered cos you’re getting a lady boner at the thought of him.” Y/F/N teased, humming to herself before popping a cracker into her mouth. “I just want you to be happy, alright? Whenever you see Harry talking to Kendall, it’s like you shut down and go into this autopilot mode where you’re just really sad all the time - And it really gets me down!” Your cheeks flared immediately at the combo of Y/F/N’s complaints along with the thought of Harry and Kendall getting all friendly with each other.
“Whatever, Y/F/N. You’re lucky I let you have this dumb party at my house in the first place.”
“The purpose of this party was to get you to talk to Harry! I thought we discussed this!”
“No, we didn’t! You said we were going to have a small get together! Watch some movies, order pizza - Not invite the entire school!”
“I heard Harry and Kendall fucked in the bathroom - You could have prevented it if you just started talking to him.” Y/F/N smirked, shrugging once again as she took a swig of water. Well, you were never going to use the bathroom ever again.
“It’s not my fault I’m not on the same social level as Harry!” You cried out, your eyebrows furrowing in frustration. There was never a moment in which Harry wasn’t surrounded by people, and even making eye contact with him scared the crap out of you. Sure, he knew your name, and he knew you were in a couple of his classes, but that was just about it. “And, I’m sorry, okay? But Harry Styles is never going to know about my crush on him, so you can forget about me ever telling him!”
“Y/N..” Y/F/N muttered quietly, her eyes flickering to over your shoulder.
“He already doesn’t know who I am, and I really don’t need you constantly bugging me to talk to him, when you know he already makes me super nervous! Seriously, how can someone be so pretty! You just get so lost in those eyes, I tell you..” You rambled on, Y/F/N’s eyes widening slightly.
“Y/N.” Y/F/N said a little more sternly, clearing her throat. “Behind.”
“What are you talki-” You turned around, your heart dropping to your stomach when you saw Harry standing by the kitchen door with an empty bottle in his hand. “Oh boy.” You squeaked out quietly, feeling your face growing hotter by the second.
“Ladies.” Harry greeted, a tiny smirk playing on his lips as he tossed the bottle into the bin. “Yeh should wear your hair down more often, Y/N. Yeh look real nice tonight.”
“Y-You also.. You’re also.. Looking.. Y-You look good, too..?” You managed to squeak out, Harry letting a small chuckle as he slipped past you to head back to the party.
Can you do an imagine where Chibs x Reader have been together for a few months and he spends time with the reader and her daughter? A big ball of fluff! I mean, c'mon… Chibs and kids? *ovaries gone!* lol*
“Hey Lass.” Your old man Chibs greeted you as you were dropping off lunch for him. “Here you go fat ass.” You said smiling. You had cooked last night and of course he wanted you to go home from work to fix a plate for his lunch and bring him the food that he could’ve fixed on his own. “You never fail to make me happy.” He said grabbing the food. “Yeah I needed to get off work anyways because I need to find a baby sitter for tonight whenever I go to my second job. Brittany is sick so I’m fucking screwed.” You said shaking your head. “Well i got to go because I need to call one of my friends to see if her daughter will watch my kid.” “Alright lass, call me when you get home.” Chibs said.
“Buffy? Can Claire watch my kid tonight? My usual baby sitter is sick with a stomach bug so I need a baby sitter because I cannot miss work tonight.” You asked your friend. “I’m sorry Y/N but Clair has a volleyball game tonight like 45 minutes out and I doubt she’ll be back in time to watch your daughter.” Buffy said. You put your head down because as soon as Buffy told you that, you knew you were screwed for tonight and you could possibly lose your job. “Okay thanks hun.” You told her and hung up the phone. Once you picked your daughter Nicole up from school and got situated in your house, you called Chibs. “Hey love.”Chibs said into the phone bringing some ease to your stressful mind. “UGHHHHH!” You said back to him. “I’m guessing you couldn’t find a baby sitter.” He said smartly. “Yeah, no shit. Jim is going to fire my ass this time. I’ve missed too many days.” You said. Chibs could hear the stress in your voice. “Well, I can watch her?” Chibs said causing you to immediately pick your head up in confusion. “Wait, foreal?” “Yeah, we are done here and there’s gonna be a party later and instead I can just watch Nicole for you.” He said. “Okay, Ill see you when you get here.” You said hanging up the phone about to head to shower before before.
“Hey lass.” Chibs said as you greeted him at the door. “Thank you for doing this Baby, I really needed this.” “Your my woman, why wouldn’t I do this for you? He said. “Okay well she has already done her homework, ate, and took a bath. She should be okay for the rest of the night. Her bedtime is at 8:30, don’t let her tell you anything different.” You said to him walking in circles at this point. “Okay doll, I got it. I do have a daughter you know.” He said “Yeah but she is older and you haven’t took care of a child in a long time Chibs, I just don’t want her to be such a big strain on you. You know what? I’ll just stay here, I’m fine. Jim can kiss my ass.” You said about to go change out of your work clothes. Chibs grabbed you and said,”No Y/N, go to work I have this. If I need anything I’ll call Gemma for help. I doubt we will need any help.” He said looking at Nicole. You smiled and said, “Okay then, I’m going. Bye babies!” You said closing your door. You laughed to yourself because Chibs had no idea what the hell he was getting himself into with Nicole.
“Can we watch Beauty and the Beast?” Nicole said to Chibs tugging on his cut. “Sure sweetheart, whatever you want.” Chibs said. as soon as he said that Nicole’s face lit up with excitement and said, “I want popcorn, peanut m&m’s,and a strawberry soda to go with the movie.” “Okay I’ll get to it sweetheart.” Chibs said. “Thank you.” Nicole said smiling and wlking off to the couch. After Chibs got the snacks they watched Beauty and The Beast. The movie ended just in time for Nicole’s bedtime. “Alright love, time for bed.” Chibs said rubbing his own eyes because he had gotten tired from watching the movie. “What?! No! We have to play princess now. My mom let’s me all the time after we watch this movie.” She said looking up at Chibs with her Big hazel eyes, which were so hard to say no to. “Okay, only until 9:15.” She smiled and ran to her room to change into her princess dress. “Oh Lord.” Chibs said to himself knowing Nicole wouldn’t probably go to sleep at 9:15.
“Okay, you need to put on your scarf and wear your crown.” Nicole said to Chibs. “Is this how I’m post to hold the cup?” He said sticking his pinky out and sipping strawberry soda out of a teacup. His phone rang and he answered the phone call without looking at who was calling. “Yeah?” He said. “Hey, how was everything? I hope she wasn’t trouble trying to put her to sleep.” You said while taking a drag from your cigarette since you were on break. “Um, yeah. Piece of cake.” Chibs said to you looking at Nicole, telling her to stay quiet. “Is that my mommy?” Nicole said eagerly. “Chibs! It’s 11 o’clock. Why isn’t she sleep?” You said angrily. “We was playing princess party and lost track of time. She’s going to sleep now.” “NO!!” Nicole said running into the bathroom and locking the door. “She locked herself in the restroom didn’t she? You said rolling your eyes. He said, “How did you know?” “She always does that when she doesn’t go to bed on time.” You said. “Oh shit.” He said. “Well, I’m off of break, get her to sleep!” You said and hung up. “Nicole, please open up.” Chibs said knocking on the door. “No, just leave me alone!.” She said throwing a brush to the door.
“Come out and I’ll sing you a song to sleep.” Chibs said trying to get her out of the restroom. Nicole was quiet and slowly opened the door to see Chibs on the floor by the bathroom door. “Can you sing me this little light of mine? That’s the only song I remember my grandma singing me.” She said with her sad eyes. “Well sweetheart, I guess I owe you a song.” Chibs said grabbing her hand…. You were on your way home praying to God that Nicole was sleep and that the house wasn’t a complete disaster. Once you pulled up to the house you braced yourself to walk into a messy house, but instead the dishes were clean and the living room just had empty cups on the table. You made your way to Nicole’s room to find her sleep and Chibs sleep on the floor holding her hand. You laughed to yourself because he had on a crown and a fluffy scarf, which caused him to wake up. “Hey love.” Chibs said looking up. “Shhh” You said waving your hands for him to come to you so the talking wouldn’t wake up Nicole. As you were closing the door Nicole told Chibs, “Thanks for being a good pretend daddy.” Chibs smiled and kissed her goodnight. “You closed the door and said, “What all did you two do?” “We bonded.” He said. “You were right though. She is a handful and a little boss at that, I don’t think Nicole is just enough because kids can be a bit much. He said laughing. You smiled and looked at him with a huge smile. “Yes, no more kids. Come on, lets go to sleep “daddy”.” You said laughing taking his hand in the bedroom.
A/N: Wow! I am so happy with the feed back that I have gotten from Part one of Ten Years in Waiting! I’m so glad that you guys liked it. Here is part two. I want to give a shout out to my wonderful editor Jade for reading all 23 pages of what I have so far. I’m excited to share this next chapter with you. It takes place the same day as part one.
You had just stepped out of the shower when you heard a knock on your door. You wrapped your robe around you and shook out your short hair with your fingers. The doorbell rang.
“I’m coming! I’m coming!” you yelled. It continued to ring. You shouted out as you went to open the door, “Calm down you son of a… Oh, Sam. What are you doing here?” Sam stood awkwardly on your doorstep, holding your doorbell in his hand.
“Um… It was broke and wouldn’t stop ringing so I just kind of… ripped it off?”
“Oh, um that’s okay.” You reached forward and took it from his hands. Silence filled the space between you. Both of you just stood there, avoiding eye contact. Finally you spoke. “Did you need something, Sam?”
“Ugh, Yeah. Can I come in?”
“It will only take a second. Please.”
You nodded, moving slightly out of the way so he could enter. You lead him into the living room, and motioned him to sit. “Do you want anything to drink, a beer maybe?”
“Sure,” he said nervously. “I’ll have a beer.” You nodded and made your way to the kitchen. You checked your phone quickly and read a text from your sister. She would be here soon. You needed to get Sam out of your apartment before everything was ruined. You returned to the living room to find Sam looking at a photo on the bookshelf. It was of you and Dean at a bowling alley.
“That was our third date.” You whispered, mostly to yourself.
Sam turned to look at you, sadness and guilt in his eyes. “You guys looked so happy.”
“We were. That was the date that changed everything for me. It wasn’t till he threw the second game that I realized he was a good guy.” You smiled. “I had never met one of those before.” You handed the beer to him and took a seat on the far end of the couch. He copied your movements and sat quietly, looking down at his hands. “Is he okay?”
Sam nodded. “He is as good as he can be I guess. We’ve had a couple of scares over the years, but he made it through in one piece.”
“I’m glad.” More silence followed as you both searched for the right words. “Sam,” he looked up at you, “I’m sorry about Jess.”
He smiled. “Me too. I’m sorry about your parents.”
“Thank you.” You took a deep breath. “Why are you here, Sam?”
“I guess I was curious. It’s not everyday that I meet the love of my brother’s life.”
“What do you mean, ‘love of Dean’s life’…?” you asked, confused.
“That’s what he told me when I asked who you were. I’ve never heard him say those words in my whole life. Naturally, I felt like I needed to come and meet you.”
“He doesn’t know you’re here, does he?”
“God no! You know him. I would be dead for even suggesting it.”
You let out a small laugh. You knew he was right. Dean was never good with the emotional stuff, especially at the beginning of your relationship. You could only imagine what 10 years would do to him. “You’re right.” You leaned forward and placed your beer on the table, your mind was too occupied to drink, and your sister would be there soon. The memories that were flooding through your mind sobered your mood, and you could feel the tension in the air. “Sam, I know you mean well, but honestly there is nothing to tell. We were together and then we weren’t. He left and I never heard from him again.”
“That’s all? Really? Hell, I got more out of Dean when I bugged him about all of this.”
You shook your head. “Sam… I can’t do this right now…”
Just then the front door swung open to reveal your very frazzled sister holding a backpack and the hand of a young girl. “Sorry we are late!” she bellowed. “Traffic was awful.” She came in, threw the backpack on the floor and released the girl’s hand. “Oh.” She exclaimed, finally noticing Sam’s presence. “Who is this?!” she said, wiggling her eyebrows. She was always trying to fix you up, and apparently she thought you had a gentleman over.
“This is Sam..” You began to explain.
“Oh! Well hello Sam…”
“Winchester.” Sam finished.
“Winchester?” she repeated. She turned to you. “Like, Winchester, Winchester?”
“Yes, This is Dean’s little brother.” You verified.
“Wow.” She mumbled. She looked behind her at the little girl taking off her shoes at the door, “Should I take her to my house?”
“No, Emily can stay with me. Sam was just leaving.”
“Oh well, I’ll leave you to it then.” She began walking toward the door and stopped before leaving. “It was nice to meet you, Sam.” She left quickly, not allowing Sam to respond. Emily had finished taking her shoes off and came over to hug you.
“Hi baby. How was school today?” You asked, brushing her light brown hair out of her face.
“It was okay I guess. Aunt Stacy was late picking me up again.” she answered, a bit sour.
“I’m sorry, Em. I had to work an extra shift today. How about I pick you up tomorrow and then we can go out for a treat. How does that sound?” You smiled as her face lit up and she gave you a toothy grin. The sound of Sam clearing his throat make you cringe. “Sam, this is my daughter, Emily.” Sam’s eyes widened when it finally registered in his brain. After realizing he hadn’t said anything in response, he knelt down and held out his hand.
“It’s nice you meet you, Emily.”
She looked at him skeptically for a moment before turning to you. “Sam? Like Uncle Sam?” Sam’s face crinkled in confusion.
You sighed. It was too late to go back now. “Yes, this is your uncle Sam.” She smiled and turned, running to him and wrapping her little arms around his neck. He seemed stunned for a moment, but cautiously returned her hug. “Em, why don’t you go get ready for bed, and brush your teeth. I’ll be in to tuck you in soon.”
She released him slowly. “Good night uncle Sammy.”
You watched as she walked toward her bedroom, probably to play with her stuffed animals instead of getting ready for bed like you asked. “Okay, let’s hear it.” You crossed your arms over your chest defensively. You had been dreading this since the second you saw both of them at the diner.
“Yes. She’s Dean’s.”
“No, he has no idea.”
“But she knows..?”
“Yeah. She knows who her dad is. I told her the truth.”
“The truth? Everything?” Sam asked unbelievingly.
“No, not everything. She’s nine!” you sighed and ran your fingers through your damp hair. “She knows that her dad is out fighting monsters with her uncle to keep her safe. He’s a superhero.”
“Wow. I don’t know what to say.”
“Say that you’ll promise to keep this a secret. Dean can’t know.”
“(Y/N), I can’t do that. He needs to know.”
“Why? Why does he need to know?” you asked angrily.
“It’s his kid! He deserves to know that he has family.”
“What if he doesn’t want it? He left before, what if he left again? I can’t do that to Emily.”
“Dean left to take care of me! He left to find our dad, did you ever stop to think that maybe he stayed away for your protection?”
“I didn’t need protection Sam! I needed him.”
“So tell him!” Sam said, waving his arms over his head.
“I can’t. I just…” You trailed off, suddenly unable to speak. Tears welled in your eyes and you fought to keep them from falling. You failed.
“Just promise that you will think about it. I won’t tell him. But I think you should.” Sam walked towards the door. He grabbed a piece of paper and pen from beside the telephone and jotted down a number and the name of a hotel in town. “This is where we are staying. Call him.” You stood there long after he had gone until a little voice from the other end of the house reminded you that your daughter was waiting for you.
By the time you made it to her room, she was already in bed with a book on her lap. You lifted the covers and slid next to her in the tiny bed. She instantly leaned into you and rested her head on your shoulder.
“Why did Uncle Sammy leave?” You looked down at the top of her head and sighed.
“He had to leave so he could fight the bad guys.”
“Does that mean that he is with Daddy?”
“I don’t know, maybe.” She seemed to think about that for a minute.
“Why didn’t he come visit with Sam? Doesn’t he want to see me?” You looked at her and couldn’t help but feel like your heart was ripped out of your chest. She looked so much like him. Her light brown hair, and her eyes… her eyes were green just like his. She looked hurt, and in that moment you realized that you were denying her everything that you desperately wanted for her. A father. It’s been 12 years since your own father was killed. It was so hard living without him but you cherished the memories that you had with him. Emily had never had that with Dean, and you were to blame for that.
“Of course he does. He loves you so much, sweetie. I’m sure he would come see you if he could.” You kissed her on the forehead. “I love you too Emily. Good night.” You left the room quietly and went to the living room. You walked directly to the phone and dialed the number on the pad of paper. You waited anxiously as the phone rang.
