I wonder if K-actors ever watch their dramas and feel what we feel.

Like has Lee Joon Gi ever gotten the chance to watch Scarlet Heart; did he cry or almost break his screen?

Or has Gong Yoo watched Goblin and felt the rollercoaster of emotions that came along with it?

Did Soong Joong Ki ever watch DOTS and have hypertension when everyone thought he died?

What of Lee Sung Kyung & Nam Joo Hyuk, have they gotten the chance to sit down to watch WLFKBJ and think “we invented love” “every girl out there needs a Joon young”

Has Park Hyungsik watched SWDBS yet and realised that he’s the sweetest and most beautiful man on the planet?

(anyone that feels like keeping this going, can)

I swear to God Descendants of the Sun is one of the best k-dramas I’ve ever watched. Not only is the relationship progression really well done, the characters all stand as individual units of tension and appeal. I’m in love with the main leads but the two second leads as well as the entire supporting cast of doctors, soilders, people they meet in Uruk, Mo-Yeon’s mother, all of them make this drama so much more than just another romance story.. Every character is made with such care, it’s easy to see why this is such a big hit.
I’m so involved in Chi Hoon’s growth as a doctor and his new role as a dad. His situation in Uruk broke my heart but he worked his way out of it and came out stronger. The episode where he finally calls his wife and speaks to her, all of his tears that amounted to that moment were worth the wait. Seung-Joon and Jung-Yeon’s not so subtle romance literally is the cutest ever, I ship em more than I did the main characters of some other dramas. Seo Dae-Young is such a manly character and a reliable pillar of support to the storyline yet his relationship with Yoo Shi-Jin is friendship goals and his love for Myeong-Joo is so powerful, it really melts my heart. But he isn’t just a conflict ridden strong man, he’s shown as cute, sweet and funny as anyone else and he doesn’t get nearly as much attention as he deserves on this show. He encourages Myeong-Joo’s spying and acts like an adorable drunk and im so in love with his character. When both the couples do the double date thing? One of my favourite scenes in the show.
Yoo Shi-Jin as expected owns my heart. Everything he says and does around Mo-Yeon makes me so happy, even with the stress of his lifestyle bearing down on him. While this could have been another drama with just another hot male lead/good kisser, his character is what makes him stand out here, although no one is going to deny that the first two qualities do actually add to his charm. Mo-Yeon annoyed me a teeny bit in the beginning but now i realise that she too is a strong character who did what was rational and acted very logically in her relationship with Shi-Jin. She didn’t just jump into it and every time she got mad at him it wasn’t an entirely illogical decision. Ive grown to adore her as well and her constant banter with Shi-Jin gives me life.
It’s been a while since I watched an ongoing drama because I usually hate waiting for the next episode but I’m glad I started immediately after its release because I would have died from the overload of emotions from inevitably binge watching the entire series in a day. There are two episodes to go and the tension is killing me because this is clearly a drama centered on the army and there’s a very high chance Yoo Shi-Jin is going to die and I really hope that doesn’t happen because I’ve delved too deep into this world and his death will affect me more than it should. I almost had a panic attack when his heartbeat stopped an episode ago. I hope they decide to let us have a happy ending instead of continuing with their actual expression of the real world. Seo Dae-Young shouldn’t die either because I feel like that might be a path they’d take to create an impact and still keep the viewers happy. Pleaassse let them live through their next mission.
