The sixteenth edition of the Sonic Acts festival will take place at different locations in Amsterdam from 26 February to 1 March 2015. More information about the programme will follow this autumn, but you can expect cutting-edge performances, an international conference with thought-provoking lectures and a wide range of concerts, screenings and installations. 

2/21/13 At the opening of the freq_out 9 installation at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Twelve frequencies play back over three hours. The room has a light installation by Dan Flavin. Frequency compositions created by BJNilsen, JG Thirlwell, Jacob Kirkegaard, Jana Winderen, Maia Urstad, Kent Tankred , Finnbogi Pétursson, PerMagnus Lindborg, Christine Ödlund, Franz Pomassl, Mike Harding, Tommi Grönlund and curated by Carl Michael von Hausswolff for the Sonic Acts Festival.


2/18/13  Tony Conrad conducted a fascinating Masterclass for Sonic Acts Festival at Melkweg Cinema in Amsterdam, where he discussed the origins of his approach to drone music and minimalism with Lamonte Young, his discovery of the flicker with Jack Smith, pythagorean harmonic theory and how to derive protein by eating oatmeal mixed with chicken hearts.
