REPOST: The original post broke somehow? I tried editing it and it didn’t work so I’m just re-uploading the song. Not sure what happened to the first one (curse you tumblr.) Considering just uploading all my music to Soundcloud because at least I know it’ll be safe there.
I promised a loooong time ago that I was going to cover this, and I never did. But, in light of recent events, this song felt really relevant and I decided it was time.
For backstory on this song and to hear the original, check out Kat’s post here.
This song is my voice and my ukulele playing, as well as a little bit of orchestrated bass to add some depth. I considered adding drums and strings as well, but maybe sometime in the future. This song is honestly so rockin’ and so fun to sing and play! I just picture Amethyst kicking butt and taking names while she’s singing it. Plus, I love the poetic T.S. Eliot insert because I’m a nerd.
I hope you guys enjoy this little diddy! If you like it, please make sure you stop by Kat’s blog and tell her and maybe give her a follow. Thank you!! xoxo
you came back to a place where nothing feels the same now that we both made a mistake but honey you came back you came back from everything we wanted to end
but everything you wanted you could find in someone else that isn’t quite as lost or broken as this left me
so actually lets close the door and i actually will turn the key and we’ll actually start moving on because actually you want to be with someone else someone with stronger hands to find the balance of being held without the burden of holding back and i just want to be myself around anyone
so no i don’t hate you at all we’re all just looking for something to look forward to the little single moment that stops the earth from turning a little piece of something that makes this all feel worth it it goes on and on and on
i look for it in everyone i look for you in everyone
