Making a difference in the world does not have to involve something overwhelming massive.
You don’t need to find the cure for cancer or completely put an end to world hunger. Making a difference in the world comes from many small acts of kindness, each and every day. It comes from shedding light onto the lives of others’.
YOU can make a difference. You can.
Coming home late after everyone has gone to bed. Junk food everywhere. Shoes, jackets, etc. never quite making it back to where they belong. Hogging the washing machines all day when we finally do something about our massive laundry pile. Showers at weird inconvenient times of the day.
Hufflepuffs are the roommates who get passive aggressive because they don’t want to cause conflict or make waves. Dishes aren’t getting done? Here comes the sticky note!
Clutter. Saying we’ll get to something (like those dishes) and then forgetting because our brain is elsewhere. Having people over and forgetting to tell you about it. “What do you meeeaaan I don’t need another book?” “dude you haven’t even read the ones you have”. Random redecoration.
Slytherins are the super anal roommate who has super weird ways of doing everything and gets frustrated when the roommate doesn’t do things or put things back exactly how we like them.
He thinks about Kit, some kind of warped, ruined saint with all her broken morals and shades of grey, surrounded by all of her foolish righteous holier-than-thou comrades, whiter than white, and he swallows heavily, because finally he understands what she meant. He doesn’t understand you like I do though, does he? he thinks, but she turns her back before he gets the chance to say it out loud.
kinda dumb how the people behind star wars are afraid of hiring a woman for a director because of their supposed lack of franchise experience when catherine hardwicke directed twilight, an indie movie with a shitty budget and an unknown cast which blew up to be a “””pop culture phenomenon””” and made piles of money for its low-rate studio, enough for it to be bought out by lionsgate (and contribute funds to make divergent and the hunger games and everything else)
why did they say “possibly things will never be the same again” when tfp leaked version literally ends with the theme of “this is how it always was and this is how it will always be haha just john and sherlock being bros and solving crimes in 221b :)!”
So. Upon reflection today. My real question to come out of this episode is:
…What the hell was even the point of everything in His Last Vow?
Like, we were led to believe there was something massively distressing and devastating and horrible in Mary’s past. Something so horrible she had to shoot Sherlock to keep it quiet. Something so horrible Sherlock had to kill Magnussen to keep it quiet.
And now in the wake of Mary’s redemption arc I am left being like, “…But WHAT WAS THE BIG DEAL?” Maybe they’re going to tell us next episode, but I feel like they’re just going to drop all of that, which basically makes HLV seem like a bunch of people overreacting in a series of murderous histrionic fits.
Which I guess maybe is this show in a nutshell, so there is that.
A quick scribble of Ceadus for a sketch-a-day prompt in the art Discord I’m a part of. I wanna try to get in the habit of doing these more regularly.
The theme was “Boss Monsters”, and let me tell you, this big guy is one of my absolute favorites. This was the first boss in a game that truly moved me. Having to fight something so massive accompanied by such phenomenal music made for a truly mesmerizing experience that I’m disappointed I’ll never be able to experience for the first time again.
I stumble upon you. The planets are aligned perfectly; the horizons are vast, but I’m so close to something massive that shines brighter than a supernova, someone wonderful and heavenly, like an angel in the flesh. Standing on edge of the bridge, I lay my head on your shoulder – flushed cheeks, tongue tied. Our souls merge and all I can think of is this love, pure and bona fide, that no storm or hurricane can vanquish. My sanctuary and comfort, I know It’s you, it will always be you.
Thinking further about Dean Germaphobe Winchester and his Purgatory-esque call back in 12x15 and the overall character arcs of Sam, Dean, Cas and even Mary this season…
Obviously the Sam-lying narrative is what is most clear here and for Dean to push back on the “you are a killer” accusations being thrown his way, because he’s NOT in purgatory anymore and isn’t a ruthless killer of just anything, in fact he is now more in the ‘grey area’ than most as a direct opposition to the ‘purity’ of purgatory.
But also, could this purgatory link potentially be foreshadowing for Cas to come to harm through trying to protect Dean in some way? In the same way he pushed Dean away for his own good in purgatory? Thus being harmed and ‘left behind’ / held against his will at the end of the season as the cliff hanger, requiring a rescue in season 13? With all the emotional development I feel like they could actually get to a ‘good’ point (not necessarily romantic but just good) only to be pulled apart by cosmic consequences right at the end of the season…
