someone has not edited in so long

Please read

I’m a psychology major in my forth year at Uni. I am writing my senior research paper on fanfiction… stay with me for a moment. I want to study the effects of writing fanfiction and having a deeper connection with people/characters than the average fan, mostly to see if there’s any sort of stress relief involved.

What I need are volunteers to fill out a brief survey, nothing too long or invasive. I have not prepared anything yet because I am not sure if there are enough people who would want to participate. If you are interested, please send me a message, or if you know someone who might be, please reblog.

Help a fellow fan girl out.

Edit: I honestly didn’t expect this many volunteers so I just want to quickly thank everyone who has responded. If I haven’t messaged you back, I do apologize. To be honest I’m just a lazy shit and that’s my only excuse.

I do want to specify that I am looking for people of college age or older for this as of right now. Also I will be sending out the survey (hopefully) within the next week (as of 9/19/17) However, I am still looking for more volunteers so please if you’d like, shoot me a message.

Thanks again.

d&d disability mechanics

so im disabled, and i have a disabled d&d character. i didnt like not having an in-game mechanic to express my character’s disability in more than words, so i decided to make some and then ended up making others.

a lot of these were made while consulting someone who has the disability or from my own firsthand experience, but some aren’t. if you want to critique some of my choices, message me! i’ll be able to either edit the ruleset or explain my reasoning, and i want it to be the best it can be.

note: a lot of the save DCs are left vague in this so you and your DM can determine how difficult they are to meet.

this is under a cut because it’s really long and so i can update it. if you want to see something added, message me!

Please get Mark to see this.

I’m well aware that you know it’s important to credit creators. This goes for photoshop and art alike (etc) . I really hope you saw that my thing with Tom Brady and Tyler was used and not credited (as far as I know, please correct me if it was). I just want to reiterate something.

In my book, it is never okay to use someone’s content without direct permission from them. It is okay, however, if this content includes the person using it and is credited properly. Example: Markiplier fanart being used by Mark and Mark only, so long as it’s credited.

I saw Tyler defend someone who stole my art, saying they only wanted to share it. This is wrong. You need direct permission from an artist to use it.

Please, advocate something like this in the community, and please please please, at least give me credit. I am mad by principle. You cannot excuse theft in anyway.

Edit: I’m not mad per say. I’m dissapointed. I understand Mark has good intentions and I understand he likely forgot. Just principle here.

edit 2: For those who aren’t aware, mark has seen this! just leaving it up. :P

The biggest challenge for me as an actress has been dealing with the kinds of roles I was going out for as an Asian woman. For a long time I would go out for very minor or stereotypical roles. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve been able to play, not only a three-dimensional character, but also someone who is strong and powerful.

Chihokogate is overwhelmingly romantic; fight me

I’ve seen people describe the “Overcome Chihoko” story in a number of ways–Victor being Extra, crackfic, something written purely for laughs, and so forth. And yes, I think all of those things are true, to a certain extent, but I’m not sure we appreciate exactly how lovely of an instance of crackfic this is.

More below the cut.

From the Ruins, We shall Rise: Chapter 2
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
By Organization for Transformative Works

Just gonna secretly update this at nearly 3 am, nbd, hahaha

Welp, here it is guys, in its 9.5k glorious addition, Ruins has been updated!!! I blame Caro for getting my butt in gear and making me finally finish the chapter by posting that gorgeous Lance from a couple days ago. Like how could I not update after that???

Anywhoodles, here’s an excerpt~

Lance lowered his collar. “Shay, you in here?”

He heard someone gasp, and before he knew it was engulfed in a bone crushing hug.

“Lance! It’s been too long! Why has it taken you so long to come visit?” Shay shook him about, his feet leaving the ground.

“Shay – can’t breathe – missed… you too –”

“Oh! Sorry, sorry!” she put him down gently and Lance leaned this way and that to realign his back.

“Yeah sorry about not visiting, been a little busy.”

Shay crossed her arms, her foot and half height difference over Lance would have made it intimidating if it weren’t for how well Lance actually knew her. She was sweet, sweeter than she should be for a black market dealer. Could still bash your head in, but sweet.

“Uh-huh, one of my runners told me you went and joined the princess. Didn’t think you were interested in that.”

Lance shrugged. “She pays well, and my family can use every aruan they can get their hands on. You know how I operate.”

“Mm. You always put them first, when are you going to take care of yourself, Lance?” she chided. She turned and started heading to the front of the shop. “So, what are you here for this time? Information? Weapons – and you know I can’t do much about that. You have these weird arrows that no one else uses.”

Lance motioned for Shiro to follow him. “Keep your hood up, Shay isn’t all that friendly with Galra, past or present,” he whispered.

“Got it,” Shiro responded.

They followed her to the main part of her shop. No one was inside, if someone wanted Shay for something, they entered in through the back. Anyone who came in through the front was guaranteed outrageous prices for anything she had.

“You got any of that Glacier wood? Broke my old bow hunting.”

Shay looked over at him, an eyebrow raised high, nearly to her hairline. “You finally broke that old thing? You’ve had that for years, ever since the war, yeah?”

“The same guy who supplies me arrows made it for me. I’ve tracked him down again and he and another friend have agreed to make me a new one. Just need the wood for it.” He glanced around, looking for any sign of it. Shay was his only consistent informant and provider for just about anything. She even made him his cloak, one of a kind as thanks for saving her shop from bandits.

She pointed over to the opposite side of the shop. “There should be some in that corner. Don’t know how good the quality is, but it’s better than cutting down your own tree.”

Lance grinned and made his way over to said corner. True enough there was some there, long links that were about five feet in length. Some of them were warped, way beyond any use, and he picked up ones that were as straight as possible. They weren’t as thick as he would have liked, but maybe Hunk could make something out of them.

He handed them off to Shiro and dug out his purse. Shiro looked a little affronted at being designated as the pack mule, but thankfully he didn’t say anything. Lance had the feeling that as soon as they were out of this place, he was going either get the lecture of a lifetime or get stuck doing some gods’ awful duty around the castle for a month. There went his free time.

He tossed Shay a few gold aruan, ignoring her squawk about him overpaying her. It was all pretense, but what he was about to ask her was really going to make the money worth it.

“Say, you haven’t heard from my old crew have you? Rin, Geoff, and all them?”

Shay froze up for a second before moving about the shop again, appearing normal, but she couldn’t hide the shake in her hands as she straightened things. Rin had been his second in command, a little ruthless in the way she took down targets, but he hadn’t been able to deny her talent when he recruited her during the war. It was safe to assume that Rin has been the pack leader since he left.

“Geoff is dead,” she said quietly after a minute.

How to support someone who is non-binary.

1) use their preferred pronouns, even when they aren’t around to hear, even when the other person in your conversation doesn’t (so long as they’re out to everyone)
2) use their preferred name (same rules as pronouns)
3) never ever out them without their consent
4) apologize for your mistakes *in private*
5) don’t question their choice of bathroom
6) don’t tell them how to dress

I’m not non-binary so this is only from my interactions with those who are. If anyone has additions or edits feel free to add!

RPDR Season 9: Pre-Show Analysis

Also, it’s impossible to tell how far someone will go without knowing their edit. This is based on their skill sets and what’s been released on the net.

Aja: America’s favorite new fashion queen, Aja certainly has potential (raiding Violet’s wardrobe helps a little). She’s gorgeous and knows how to work a look. Acting, comedy, anything else? Not so much. Might not last long.
Prediction: Molly, you in danger girl.

Alexis Michelle: TRADE. If seasons 6-8 have taught us anything, being a pretty boy helps. Yet she’s not resting on face: she’s a theatre queen who can sing, dance and act. Add a penchant for strong looks and you’ve got a dark horse that could steal the season. And your panties.
Prediction: She’ll make it past Snatch Game, and possibly top 4.

Charlie Hides: Charlie is a renowned queen, known best for her impersonations. She’s done Michelle to Michelle’s face, held her own with Bianca Del Rio, and been namedropped by CHER as her favorite impersonator. However, her youtube videos are incredibly hit and miss, with rumors abound that she’ll suffer early. Eh, they said the same about Bianca.
Prediction: Wild Card. She’ll either finish strong or fizzle early.

Eureka: She can dance! Yup, that’s her big schtick. Eureka is a big girl who can stunt in a lipsynch, which means her first time in the bottom won’t be her last. A pageant vet, she’s got a rivalry with Trinity Taylor, meaning she’ll be in as long as she is. Otherwise, not sure what she’ll offer.
Prediction: If she stops throwing shade, she sashays.

Farrah Moan: She’s cute! A showgirl, a hostess, and an impersonator by trade, Farrah has caught a lot of attention so far. Time will tell if she’s able to rise above being a pretty blonde and showcase some personality. One to watch.
Prediction: If she makes it past snatch game, she could do some serious damage

Jaymes Mansfield: Ay yi yi…girl. Jaymes is gonna have a rough time of it.  Her entrance is the weakest in the show’s history. While she does have a strong knowledge of drag and queer culture, this doesn’t always translate to a good performer. Add a grating character to that mix and you have a ticking time bomb of TV fallout.
Prediction: Pending a miracle, she’s going home early.

Kimora Blac: Sex on a stick! Pretty is a plus. But like Aja, it’s unknown if Kimora offers anything else. She’s a solidly working Vegas girl who could end up surprising us all…or going the way of Kandy Ho.
Prediction: Not enough info, not a good sign.

Nina Bonina Brown: An Atlanta girl with animated style. She may come across as intense, but she’s going to give some memorable runways…if copyright infringement doesn’t cripple her. She’s already gotten in fights with the viewers, and we’re guaranteed at least one critique from Michelle on blending. Can she take the heat?
Prediction: Attitude adjustment puts her middle of the road or true contender.

Peppermint: A NY favorite, she’s bubbly, quirky, talented and versatile. A successful singer/performer, she’s also the first openly trans queen from Day 1, so the show could play that up to quell recent backlash or play up her diversity and send her packing. Not likely, pending a misstep.
Prediction: She’ll go far.

Sasha Velour: The freakshow is in town! Sasha is a performance artist and glamour goblin who radiates UNT. The C? Might be in danger. She’s the first to read Jaymes in the confessionals and already gives an impression of not suffering fools gladly. Her success will depend on her softer side, and whether the judges (and the world) embrace her insanity. It worked for Sharon…
Prediction: Will kick ass competitively, fan vote is up in the air

Shea Coulee: The hidden gem of the Midwest, every gay Chicagoan worth their salt reveres Shea Coulee. She can act, sing, lipsynch and serve looks for DAYS. All she needs is a solid personality edit and she could snatch that fucking crown.
Prediction: A winner, baby. Maybe.

Trinity Taylor: A well known pageant girl with an ass, and as the show points out, it’s not the only one. Allegedly a fantastic seamstress with a wide range of styles, so she could survive past episode one. Her comedy and singing? Meh. She’ll need something stronger than a rivalry with Eureka to stay competitive.
Prediction: Middle of the road, at best

Valentina: Talk about an unknown! Valentina has only ten months of experience going into this, which is already a huge handicap. However, she seems sweet enough and she can turn a look. Points against her include her lack of tact with Michelle Visage and the self admitted inability to do comedy.
Prediction: Top 7. Possibly.

the idea of you; peter parker

summary: reader is overly-dramatic about being in love with peter parker and someone has to do something about it.

word count: 3,700 yo

warnings: the overuse of the name peter parker, an unnecessarily long fic, terrible writing, some swearing, and the fact that i didn’t bother editing this.

a/n: inspired by the song idea of you by mxmtoon! i wrote half of this at midnight and the other half is just me trying to come up with a decent ending. the last part is so rushed i’m sorry. lmk if i need to fix anything or smth. i don’t even know how to write peter parker. this is the first thing i’ve written in a year.

Your name: submit What is this?

You stared at the back of Peter Parker’s head as you probably missed really important information about your next biology project. Being in love is so uncomfortable.

Or, at least you think it’s love. Maybe? It’s been a few weeks and you still don’t know.

So I wrote this for @_fullybooked ‘s Valentine’s contest where we have to write a love letter to a fictional character. (They’re giving away a book set and steak. Yup you heard me. Steak. And dinner for two whoop! hahaha)

I wasn’t able to post the whole version since Instagram has a word limit so I thought I’d share it here. lol don’t laugh, okay? I’m in love with this guy. <3 This is my letter to Will Herondale from @cassandraclare‘s Infernal Devices series. The photo edit was taken from @the-manila-institute

Dearest William,

It is a bit odd writing this letter to you. I’ve been wanting to for a long time but people would think me insane to be addressing someone who, quite frankly does not really exist in the real world. A fictional character—a mere creation of the human mind. But seeing that there is an opportunity where I will not be judged if I do, I have gladly taken it; overjoyed to finally be able to say to you what I’ve wanted to say the very moment I turned to the very last page.

William. Did you know you wore the name so well? In French it means: “determined protector”; the epitome of who you are as I’ve read from the Infernal Devices series. I was in high school when I met you, and had the honor of being by your side as I read through your adventures with Tessa, Jem, and the other Shadowhunters. Every fight, every war left me in awe as you fought them with such skill. (And you knew that very well too.)

My first impression of you: you’re going to be someone I won’t like but would end up liking in the end anyway. You were rude, arrogant, reckless, excessively cocky, and did I mention rude? Yes, I believe so. In retrospect, you were everything I didn’t like—except maybe the fact that you were an incredibly gorgeous human being with deep blue eyes, that even you yourself are in love with. I liked Jem more in all honesty and would probably get along with him better than I would with you.

But as I got deeper into the story, I learned there’s more to you, Will. Behind the sarcasm and rude disposition was a caring young man who would risk everything for the people he loves. I discovered your past and suddenly…everything changed. Or maybe I’ve known it all along but didn’t let myself see it.

I couldn’t pinpoint the exact time—or page—I fell in love with you. But know that I did. I really did and it was like a lullaby; a slow journey. I guess it started when you expressed your devotion for the written text. Your love for books was wonderful and I guess I saw myself in you and related a lot to your thoughts.

Your words spoke to me, touched my heart. And for the first time, I saw someone as my other half. Perhaps we were twins in another life for we think very much alike.

“It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them.” - Will

Your words continue to haunt me to this day—your words of love, your witty remarks, and even the snarky and sarcastic ones that make me want to hurl a chair at you. Being a writer, I breathe and live words and you are the first person (I don’t care if you’re not real) who understood what it’s like to be that way. Maybe you are just a fictional character, but I believe Cassandra Clare has shaped you in the image of real people, so you must exist somewhere. I hope I find someone who would want to listen to me talk about books and my stories “until their ears fell off”. I hope I find someone half as passionate as you are; who is incredibly strong but felt too deeply it leaves me breathless…

Someone who can easily express himself in words so beautifully; and would say these words to me the way you did to Tessa:

“Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not yet read. I would read them together with you, as many as I can, before I die—“

You’re simply wonderful Will, and it breaks my heart a little knowing I can only be with you through the pages of a book. But just so you know, I would gladly read it over and over again just to have the privilege of being able to witness the beauty of your mind and heart—your very soul.

I love you, most ardently. And dare I say if I were a book, you’d be the words; every page strewn with thoughts of you.

Loving you always (from outside the pages),

Kaye Allen

GET TO KNOW ME : favorite 5/? Parinings → Asuma Mutsumi x Kae Serinuma  ()

Asuma : I’ve always given up on whatever I could give up, shared whatever I could share. I never really wanted anything so much that I’d fight over it… as long as it made someone happy…. But sorry, this time I’m not letting you have your way  ” .
Kae : “ D-Do you feel a little less anxious like this? Everyone has something they have trouble with. If there’s something I can do to help, I’ll gladly do it “

taylor swift appreciation week: day 2 - favourite album/song/lyric

“There’s an old poem by Neruda that I’ve always been captivated by, and one of the lines in it has stuck with me ever since the first time I read it. It says “love is so short, forgetting is so long.” It’s a line I’ve related to in my saddest moments, when I needed to know someone else had felt that exact same way. And when we’re trying to move on, the moments we always go back to aren’t the mundane ones. They are the moments you saw sparks that weren’t really there, felt stars aligning without having any proof, saw your future before it happened, and then saw it slip away without any warning. These are moments of newfound hope extreme joy, intense passion, wishful thinking, and in some cases, the unthinkable letdown. And in my mind, every one of these memories looks the same to me. I see all of these moments in bright, burning, red. My experiences in love have taught me difficult lessons, especially my experiences with crazy love. The red relationships. The ones that went from zero to a hundred miles per hour and then hit a wall and exploded. And it was awful. And ridiculous. And desperate. And thrilling. And when the dust settled, it was something I’d never take back. Because there is something to be said for being young and needing someone so badly, you jump in head first without looking. And there’s something to be learned from waiting all day for a train that’s never coming. And there’s something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn’t fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it. But this album is about the other kids of love that I’ve recently fallen in and out of. Love that was treacherous, sad, beautiful, and tragic. But most of all, this record is about love that was red.”
