Support Older Girl Groups Pt. 1: f(x)

This week on Support Older Girl Groups we are supporting f(x). If you want to know why you should participate even if this week isn’t about a group you stan, check out this post

So what this is is sort of a masterpost of ways to support the group of the week. And since it’s my favorite group and people have been taking about their status as a group a lot lately, I thought a logical place to start would be f(x).

This is far from everything f(x) has released, I just chose a few for each category so it would be easier to get the view up in a noticeable way. If you can’t put your effort into everything on this list, put your effort into 4 Walls, Free Somebody, All Mine, and On My Own.

About the group

F(x) is an SM girl group that debuted in 2009. They were originally considered Asia’s Dance Group by SM.The members are Victoria, Amber, Luna and Krystal. Sulli also used to be part of the group. If you are looking for some different concepts, f(x) is definitely for you! They have done so many different concepts. I think you will notice their individuality as a group immediately!

Title tracks

4 Walls was their last music video and album to be released. It was released in 2015, so quite a while ago. It’s currently at 27,161,327 views, but deserves way more. Let’s get it to 30mil!

Red Light came out in 2014 and was their last music video and album with Sulli. It currently has 36,027,739 views, so it’s close to 40mil! it would be really awesome to get it to 50 mil sooner rather than later too.

Rum Pum Pum Pum is pretty close to 50 mil, and it would be really great for them it! It currently has 46,309,778 views.

All Mine was the last music video f(x) has released. it was released in July of 2016 and currently has 8,411,608 views. Let’s get it to 10mil! This is a really special music video and song because it had been so long since f(x) had any activities together, and it has been a long time since, Also the music video was directed by Amber! I would be really great if this music video in particular had a big spike in views!

Heartbeat is an amazing and sweet song by Amber and Luna. It’s honestly such a great song and Amber and Luna make such a could unit (they really should be a subunit.) But the music video is still yet to reach 1mil views! It’s currently at 901,491 views. That’s not that bad for a Station song but Heartbeat and the group deserve so much more. Let’s get it to 1mil and then much farther from there!

Borders is an Amber solo that she wrote and is very special to her. Honestly I cried to first time I heard it, it’s just too dang relatable lmao. Another thing that you might like is it is in English, and it has subtitles in both Korean and English. It currently has 5,221,617 views, which is actually pretty good for a Station song. But Amber has really been having hard times with her solo work an SM, so a spike in the views could really help.

Free Somebody is Luna’s solo debut from May 2016. It’s such a great song that shows off both her beautiful voice and dance skills. Sadly it was not promoted well and got overshadowed by other SM comebacks, so it didn’t do nearly as well as it should. It currently has 8,154,679 views. Let’s get it to 10mil!

On My Own was part of Amber’s Crossing series that she was making on her own Youtube Channel. Sadly, Crossing was never finished. We are not sure what happened to it, but based off of her cryptic Instagram posts (still the last two she posted if you want to go read them), it doesn’t sound like it was good. On My Own is a really important song to support for the same reason as Borders. It’s currenly at 1,040,418 views. Let’s get it to 2mil! and then maybe even 5mil!

I Don’t Want to Love You was not exactly a solo, but a collaboration between Krystal and June One Kim. It’s also not under SM and it’s not in Korean so it wasn’t that popular. But watching it will still help support f(x)! Also, it’s a really interesting and different song. The music video is actually a little spooky (also the intro kinda drags on) But still please support it becasue it’s a good song! It currently has 453,638 views. Let’s get it to 1mil!

Other Stuff to Check Out

Luna’s Alphabet is a vlog series on Youtube that Luna has been making, and it’s getting a season 3 soon! The videos usually range from around 5 to 15 mins long. And don’t worry, there are English subtitles!

Amber’s channel is where she posted her Crossing songs. There are only 4 videos but it wouldn’t hurt to subscribe anyway!

What The Pineapple was Amber’s Youtube channel for basiclly anything else she wanted to post. There are lots of funny things on it you should really check it out! Also it is primarily in English but there are Korean subtitles. Sadly it has been a long time since she last posted to it, but maybe if the views spike she will bring it back, or get to start something like Luna’s Alphabet.

Ending Notes

Please reblog this and share this as much as possible! This project will do no real good unless it is a group effort. And please watch the videos as much as possible! It would do the most good if you guys watched each one (or at least the title tracks) multiple times a day this week (and weeks to come.) I’m not expecting you to take the time to watch all of Luna’s Alphabet or What the Pineapple, but if you could watch all the music videos that would really help not only f(x), but all older girl groups! If you want people to put the effort to help out your favorite older girl groups, help out other people’s faves too! Remember, next week’s post could be your favorite group!

Also remember!

Listen to all of these songs on Spotify

Buy them and or the albums if you can

Look out for Victoria’s solo album coming out soon

follow them all on social media

fluffy and shitty but getting it out of my drafts anyways : )

“Sit still for me, Bianca!” You tell your 3-year-old daughter. You’ve been sitting outside the airport for a couple hours now, waiting on your ex’s flight to get in. It’s been delayed about 3 times now, and Bianca was getting too loud and restless to wait at baggage claim for him.

A herd of people start exiting the doors to the airport, so you stand up and look around to see if you see him coming, but you don’t find him in this wave of people. You turn to sit back down, but you see that Bianca isn’t next to you anymore.

this is the final album art for my cousin leo’s EP! hyphenated is an album that talks a lot about asian american identity, so i wanted to draw a chinese-american boy split with the image of the most awesome hero 孙悟空 (the monkey king). the animated 西游记 from 1999 is a huge childhood favorite of mine (nostalgia blast link) and i re-watched some episodes while drawing this haha. as chinese-americans, we have a long history rich with beautiful art and great stories. being chinese is WOW so cool and you should be proud!

dreamermoonchan  asked:

So, you know I'm rather new to the fandom, and this will be my first comeback, and I want to do anything I can to help make this comeback a success for our boys. Can you tell me what I can do? like I dont know if I will be able to buy the album, but what other things can I do and where? Thanks~

Sure thing! I’ll give you some basics of what a typical comeback is like for fans! I hope this info is helpful for all BABYz and thanks to the awesome BABYz who provided tutorials for all of these methods!

Social Media

The easiest method is to just promote BAP as much as possible for every comeback. Whether it’s Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat, introducing BAP to other K-Pop fans as well as people who are not into K-pop is seriously so helpful. The more we talk about BAP, the more exposure they’ll get, which will lead to more fans and more opportunities for BAP in the future!

I cannot stress this enough when I say that when discussing BAP on social media PLEASE keep your posts and comments positive. Talk about how great the songs are, how perfect the MV is, write about OT6′s flawless singing and dancing, etc; however, DON’T make negative posts criticizing BAP/BABYz/other fandoms because it really reflects back on BAP. DON’T start rumors or spread them, DON’T post or repost negative comments/posts from others, and DON’T write negative comments directly to BAP on sns. Also, even though we all can agree TS sucks, it’s clear that they go out of their way to avoid any concerns from BABYz. Even though it’s frustrating, before you send them emails, call their offices, or threaten to fly to Korea and punch every employee at TS in the face, PLEASE think of what your words/actions will do to BAP. We don’t know what truly goes on with BAP and TS, so it’s best to remain positive and focuse on promoting the boys and patiently waiting for news from TS and then we can punch everyone if they fuck up as usual :D

Physical Albums

Even though you’re still unsure about buying a physical copy of the album, if you do end up deciding it’s best to buy from stores whose sales count towards charts, such as Gaon and Hanteo. Preordering is also really important for sales within the first week, so here are a few verified stores for each chart in addition to TS Ent.’s official store:

Hanteo: KPopTown, KpopMart, YesAsia (there is a global site and US site, this is the global site link)

Gaon: Melon, MNet

Searching for BAP online will actually help them gain exposure and hype about their comeback. Simply go on the Naver website or app, type in “BAP ROSE”, click on and share articles on your social media, clear your history, and repeat!

There are also search attacks that we do, in which there are scheduled times for BABYz to search about BAP on Naver in order to get them trending. If you check BAPdomination on Twitter, they post the schedules and search words for each day.

Voting will help BAP win on music programs, as well as for appearances on various variety shows (which will increase their exposure and popularity). The Vote4BAP Twitter provides info for where streaming/voting can be done.

You can vote for BAP on Show Champion, Inkigayo, Music Bank, Music Core, and MNet Countdown using the tutorials provided by BABYz.

Streaming allows for digital sales, which count for roughly 50% of votes on music shows. In order to stream, you need to purchase passes on sites like Genie or Melon.

Melon streaming can seem intimidating, but there are literally soooo many wonderful BABYz who are always offering to help set up an account, or even stream for you (a lot of BABYz actually advertise this kind of help on Twitter/Tumblr/Instagram so make sure to stay on your social media grind during comebacks!). In order to stream on Melon, you need to create and account and either use your PC or dowload the mobile app. There’s a document that BABYz made that explains the whole process along with an FAQ if you have any trouble.

TS YouTube Channel

You can also stream the official MV on TS Ent.’s YouTube channel (it’s best to watch the MVs on TS’s channel even though 1theK also posts the MV and has more subscribers [which means more exposure] but really focus on TS’s channel first and foremost. Stream in 720p or above, like/comment/share the MV on all social medias, watch the full MV without pausing AND at a volume above 50%. Also DON’T click replay or refresh the page; instead, play the video incognito or clear your history. You can also create a playlist of just the MV so that it continuously loops.

Streaming can also be done on Tudou to help BAP win on THE SHOW. Open this link in incognito mode and click the orange button beside the ROSE MV. You don’t have to watch the whole MV ~ there are two lines when the video loads: orange and gray. Let the gray line load fully after you press play and that counts as a stream. Make sure you don’t mute the video while it’s playing, otherwise it doesn’t count. As always, delete your history/cookies and try from all devices and computers.

Naver TV Cast

Finally, streaming can be done on Naver TV cast, but the options listed above tend to be the most used by fans (especially Tudou - BAP tend to win a lot on THE SHOW since it’s a system solely based on the input of fans’ streaming, but it has been known to be messy sometimes when counting votes so NEVER STOP STREAMING lol).

Fancafe/Daum tutorial

itsBAP actually has a tutorial to make an account to join BAP’s official fanclub, in case anyone was interested in this option as well!

Of course, there are so many ways to support BAP in their comebacks, but above all just being a loyal BABY is the best support you can give! Let’s all work together to make this comeback a success and make 2017 BAP’s year! Fighting! ♡

hallways in the pink album

So I had to drive for 8 hours the other day and basically listened to Harry’s album on repeat, alone with my thoughts…so the result is either gonna be awesome or totally weird, right? Anyway, I’ve seen some amazing interpretations (@seasurfacefullofclouds, @harryflyles and @iftheresnolove have all said brilliant things, and totally informed my understanding of the album/individual songs. Also, hi! Sorry if it’s weird to tag you!).

But as I drove through Ohio (how fun.), the motif of the “hallway” started to become key to my understanding of the album. It recurs multiple times (in MMitH, but also Only Angel and kinda the hotel room in FtDT), so it seems important! At first, it might not feel related to some of the other big themes in Harry’s album (like miscommunication and silence, which you can definitely tie to Harry’s personal relationships, and like…what the songs might be about on an individual level). But here’s my argument: I think the figure of the “hallway” is the album’s way of discussing how your environment can constrain your ability to communicate. Which maybe puts a more structural spin on the idea of “miscommunication.”

Basically I just think it’s interesting that an album Harry has consistently described as all about Freedom™ is so focused thematically on being trapped and not-in-control. (I mean, I personally think it’s 100% a way to work through the experience of being a closeted celebrity in a boy band, but you don’t have to agree!)

ANYWAY. Let’s start with what the image of a “hallway” evokes:

You seriously do these so well, they're so nice and thought-out and links to examples....I request one for Sungyeol. Because he's so wonderful but gets underestimated far too often. Please and thank you!

Okay, so I previously did Woohyun and Sunggyu, and now it’s my handsome and small son Sungyeol! Sungyeol often gets overlooked in INFINITE, and that is just not okay. So here are some reasons to show him more love, because he definitely deserves it!

If there is one thing Sungyeol does amazingly well, it’s act. He has always had aspirations to be an actor, and was originally in the SM Acting Academy before he joined Woollim. He didn’t set out to be in an idol group, but aren’t we glad he ended up in INFINITE? Sungyeol has been in multiple dramas over the years, including Please Remember Princess, Hi-School Love On (alongside fellow member Woohyun) and D-Day

Also here is Yeol acting in a CF for a dog shelter, part of INFINITE’s appearance on Birth of a Family:

It goes without saying that INFINITE wouldn’t be as successful on variety shows if it weren’t for members like Sungyeol. He has perfect comedy timing and has never minded throwing himself fully into skits and giving everything he has for hilarity - image? What image? Let’s never forget Sungyeol’s animal impressions, the infamous owl face, his hilarious dancing or the many, many times he’s gone all out for his solo stages (Troublemaker with Sungjong, PSY’s Daddy, ioi’s Pick Me).

And here is a personal favourite of mine, Sexy Back ft Hoya:

Although Sungyeol did not set out to be a singer, you would have to be totally ignorant not to notice what an improvement he has made vocally in the 7 years since debut. He has never been one to say he can sing, remaining humble about his skills and often even putting himself down. But it shows that he’s trained his voice when you listen to him on album tracks and during live performances. He may not get the most lines, but he often gets some of the most memorable ones in songs (”Do you hear me?” anyone???). Here is a compilation of some of his lines. Then there is the fact that Sungyeol can rap! Okay so he may not be as known for it as INFINITE H, but you can check out his skills in Cover Girl or watch this awesome clip of INFINITE switching parts for Be Mine. Sungyeol got Hoya and absolutely slayed it.

INFINITE are a group well known for their synchronised dance skills. And Sungyeol being the tallest member definitely has to try that little bit harder to make sure he stays in line with the rest of them. He may not be a main dancer or be asked to do the dance break, but without him we wouldn’t have the perfect seven members that form INFINITE, and we also wouldn’t have the cool bit at the beginning of The Chaser where Yeol parts the others like the Red Sea…

Also look how sexy he is…

There are so many reasons to love Sungyeol, and here are a few more things I think are very important:

  • His love of animals! Sungyeol adopted a cute little hairless cat he named Jureumie (from the world for wrinkle), and although she has since moved in with one of Woollim’s staff, we got some super cute times with the two of them. He now has a dog called Aga (Baby). Sungyeol was also amazing with the three puppies INFINITE adopted on Birth of a Family
  • He lowkey does a lot of charity work. Sunggyu outed Sungyeol saying he actually does a lot of charity work, but he never likes to talk about it himself.
  • His visuals are seriously no joke. Having seen INFINITE up close in real life (and accidentally at the airport one time) I can honestly confirm that Lee Sungyeol is one of the most gorgeous people I have ever seen, even with a facemask on and no makeup.
  • Sungyeol loves INSPIRITS so much that he’s ready to chase us to the ends of the earth if we cheat on them. He also spoke about how it’s important to him to be able to communicate with all fans, and so he tried extra hard at foreign languages during their first world tour OGS.
  • His friendships with the other members are very sweet, especially with Sunggyu and Myungsoo. Sunggyu often leans on Sungyeol or latches onto him at airports. And even though Sungyeol and Myungsoo admitted to fighting with each other before, they’re known to be very close.

I legitimately love Sungyeol so much and it makes me upset when I see negative comments about him or hear that he’s not getting as much attention as he deserves. Please love Lee Sungyeol, because if you’re an INSPIRIT then he definitely already loves you!

the popstar au

hey y’all this is based off of @wolf1ez‘s wonderful amazing widowtracer band au, let’s be legends, which you can find here!!! it’s awesome read it! also side note: in case you’re confused, the introduction and some other parts in this au are written as quotes from magazines/websites.

  • billboard: rising latin pop star sombra has just released the debut album ladykiller, which has been at #1 for three days, and shows no sign of dropping. the album features a wide range of styles, from the enrique iglesias-esque ballad de amante to the upbeat la chica (de mis sueños). sombra, who is openly gay, is donating half of the profits made off of ladykiller to the trevor project. related: check out our pride playlist, featuring tracks like satya vaswani’s girls and amelie by tracer of phracer!
  • hollywire: you all might have heard of sombra, whose debut single inamorata shot to #1 internationally and propelled her to overnight fame. well, good news: the bilingual singer has dropped a new album, ladykiller! i love every track on here, though i’ve gotta say: la cama de amor is a personal favourite. there’s nothing like that song to get you in the mood for some romping, if you know what i mean. and whether it’s in english or in spanish, we can only say one thing: spi-icy!
  • ‘hey, asshole,’ gabe says. ‘billboard wants you to do a collaboration on a track for pride month.’
  • sombra looks up at him from her chair, spinning idly. ‘sure. who’s it with?’
  • gabe unmutes his phone, listens for a few moments, mutes it again. ‘satya vaswani. the one who did girls.’
  • ‘tell ‘em yes.’
  • gabe raises an eyebrow. ‘not even gonna think about it?’
  • ‘nah. give the guys the go ahead.’
  • gabe nods, then disappears again, talking in his business voice. sombra slumps back against the chair, spinning idly.
  • after a few minutes, gabe comes back in, with a notepad and a schedule.
  • ‘okay,’ he says. ‘here’s the deal. you and vaswani are gonna meet at her apartment so you can go over songs and that shit. then you’re gonna write it, and then you’re scheduled to actually record that bullshit in march. y’all are gonna do a music video, and then they’re gonna drop it on the unsuspecting public on the first day of pride month. it’s december and you meet vaswani in four days, so you better get your ass in gear.’
  • ‘what do you mean, get my ass in gear? i just dropped an album, you fuckhead!’
  • ‘yeah, yeah, whatever. you’re gonna be writing the song in between shows, so get ready to never have a single day free for the rest of your sorry-ass life.’
  • ‘ugh.’ sombra flops back down against the chair.
  • ‘hey, at least she’s hot.’
  • sombra’s up in an instant, grabbing gabe’s phone. he’s looking at her instagram, and she gapes at the photo.
  • ‘goddamn,’ she says.
  • ‘goddamn,’ gabe agrees.
  • four days later, she’s being ushered inside a tall building by people in white. vaswani’s bodyguards. she has a bit of a cult following, apparently.
  • the apartment is large and immaculate, everything perfect and in its place. sombra feels a vague twinge of guilt about her apartment, which probably has more empty dorito bags on the floor than it does furniture.
  • ‘hello,’ comes a voice, and there she is. satya vaswani. impeccably dressed in a semiformal blouse, hands neatly folded over crossed legs. she gives sombra an unreadable look, and then gestures at the perfectly laid out blue tea set on the table. sombra nods.
  • they’re silent as satya pours the tea in exact, measured movements. sombra sips from the cup that she passes over.
  • ‘so,’ vaswani says. ‘you like women?’
  • sombra gives her a smirk. ‘yes i do,’ she purrs.
  • ‘good. let’s write a song about it.’
  • they’re unlikely friends, sombra with her brash cockiness and vaswani with her reserved grace, but it works out. they talk shit about satya’s managers and sing to each other.
  • it’s 3 am. sombra’s drunk, and hanging upside down from satya’s ceiling fan, knees hooked around the blades.
  • ‘careful,’ satya says. sombra sways until she’s facing satya, their faces close together.
  • ‘i’m not,’ sombra says. her eyes are on the soft curve of satya’s mouth.
  • satya shifts a little. ‘what- what are you doing?’
  • sombra shrugs vaguely. ‘i dunno.’
  • ‘okay.’
  • they sit like that for a moment before satya sighs, then tugs sombra’s upside-down face closer and presses their mouths together.
  • sombra’s hands lift, fingers tracing the line of satya’s jaw. languid. gentle.
  • ‘come to my concert,’ sombra murmurs when they separate. satya makes a questioning noise. sombra’s hands card gently through her hair.
  • ‘like, to sing. anything. i just- i’d like to have you there.’
  • satya hums. ‘your concerts are loud.’
  • ‘yeah.’ sombra swings herself back a little to study satya’s face. ‘are you okay with that? i know that you don’t really like- sensory overload, right? you don’t have to.’
  • satya’s hands lift to cover sombra’s on her face. she smiles, a little. ‘i would like to.’
  • insider: the latin pop star sombra is known for her concerts getting a little sexy, what with her habit of pulling girls on stage and doing some pretty dirty dancing. and then apparently she follows through. she has a pretty impressive network of such girls, ranging from korea to france to her native mexico. ‘she’s a real player,’ an inside source says. ‘but from what i’ve heard coming from those hotel rooms, it’s worth it.’
  • it’s coming to the last song of the set when sombra jumps off the stage and hooks her fingers around satya’s wrist. satya has her noise-cancelling earbuds in, and she tugs one out.
  • ‘hey, california!’ she shouts, and grins at the answering roar. ‘i want y’all to meet a friend of mine, who’s gonna help me sing this next song. satya vaswani!’
  • and then she tugs satya up on stage, as the chords start to play. it’s an instantly familiar song. she tosses satya a mic and launches into the first verse.
  • sí, sabes que ya llevo un rato mirándote,
  • satya chimes in to sing the next part, and sombra edges closer to her, closer and closer. she comes up behind her, and sets her hands on satya’s hips, swaying, until-
  • despacito-’ and abruptly the swaying turns into grinding, sombra’s hips rocking against the curve of satya’s ass. satya goes tense suddenly, and sombra pulls away, bouncing up to the edge of the stage to sing the next ‘despacito’.
  • she launches into the next part, shooting satya a concerned look. satya gives her an imperceptible nod, and disappears off the stage.
  • pasito a pasito,‘ she sings, holds out the microphone. the crowds roar the lyrics back to her, and she trades off with them, her wonderful beautiful fans, and they bounce back and forth until sombra sings ‘despa-’
  • and then abruptly there are strong hands yanking her back hard, and satya vaswani, the angel of bollywood, is grinding on her to the beat of the song.
  • if not for her goddamn training, she would have forgotten the words all together, but she’s a performer. she can do this, and she goes into the second ‘despacito’ of the chorus, and then abruptly satya bites at her earlobe and yanks her into the curve of her hips and even from the shitty quality of the youtube videos it’s perfectly clear that she has never been more turned on in her whole damn life
  • the lights go out, sombra yells her goodbyes, the crowd roars, and then she’s practically yanking satya off the stage and into her dressing room and the moment she hears the click of the door lock, she’s on her knees and reaching for the zipper to satya’s absurdly tight pants and everything gets a whole lot better from there.
  • and they write the damn song. satya’s time for sleeping is 9 pm to 6 am, except on special occasions. so they trade lyric ideas back and forth at 2 am, stealing kisses and occasionally abandoning the song altogether to make out like teenagers.
  • but they write their separate verses, and tag-team the bridge and the choruses. it’s a love song, of course, addressed to each other.
  • lover girl,’ sombra sings. they’re facing each other inside the soundproofed walls of the recording studio. ‘ain’t you something wonderful?’
  • it’s a soft kind of song, sombra’s fingers plucking at the strings of the guitar. satya leans forward during the prerecorded instrumental break to kiss her gently. sombra smiles into the kiss.
  • gabe rolls his eyes fondly from where he sits in the studio, and satya’s assistant gives them a curious glance.
  • the music video is set half in a beach, half in a bedroom. satya’s verse is first; she sits on a stool in front of a mirror, smiling to herself. the video cuts to the two of them in a bedroom for the chorus, sombra playing her guitar. they’re singing to each other. the last scene, satya tugs the guitar away from sombra and pulls her down for a gentle kiss, and then the video fades.
  • hollywire: so, i guess you guys have heard the news? latin pop star sombra and the ‘angel of bollywood’ satya vaswani have just dropped the hottest single of the summer, on the first day of pride month! lovergirl is a work of art, and it’s even better when you learn that sombra and satya were dating all through the process of making the song, news they dropped on the same day as the lovergirl music video. one word: wow. #symbra, anyone?

My little indie rock and roll outfit from Salt Lake City.

It’s a homage to an unpopular individual i knew of as a youth. Or just a homage to the unpopular in general.

I hope so, a lot of songs I really enjoy may not make the cut. Keep your fingers crossed.

Jeremy closed the door of Michael’s 1999 PT Cruiser, “Hey.”

He smiled as Michael turned the key, leaning over the stick shift to give him a peck on the cheek. “Where are we going?”

Michael grinned, “I found this awesome spot, you’ll see.”

Jeremy smiled over at him, turning on the stereo. Catch A Fire, Michael’s favorite Bob Marley album, was in, and they listened quietly together as Michael backed out of the school parking lot.

“I’m excited for you to see it.” Michael admitted as they passed by the McDonald’s, heading out of town. “Brooke brought Cloe there once for a date and she says it was beautiful.”

Jeremy smiled, after all of the events of last year, he was glad to be able to be…Happy. Yeah. Jeremy realized that he was happy. Happier than he had been in a long time. He reached over for Michael’s hand, lacing their fingers together as they continued down the road. They drove through a suburb, joking about the pastel houses and white picket fences, but Jeremy thought quietly to himself that he might want that someday. With Michael. Maybe.

Workout Log 5-10-17

Today, I did something a bit different. Now that I’m getting a lot more serious and consistent with my routine, I’m starting to move away from the machines and focus more on dumbbells/barbells and learning some different moves and upping dumbbell weight more. Some of the machines will stay in my routine because I’ve found some are really quite good at their intended muscle group, but I feel overall that dumbbell/barbells get that feeling you really want–where you have to push your muscles to perform at the end of the set.

So, what I tried out today was a bicep and triceps routine. Tomorrow I’m going to do chest and shoulders. Friday, abs. Saturday, legs and back. Weekends, as they have been, will be longer and more thorough routines. Playing it by ear.

I also went ahead and recorded my morning walk onto this Fitbit record. I usually do treadmill warm up, but I didn’t know how long it would take this morning so I skipped it. I only have 30-40 minutes to spare at the gym before the work time rush begins, but it turns out I could probably still use about 5-7 minutes on warm up.

Dumbbell Bicep Curls: 15 lb dumbbells 3 x 12
Hammer Curls: 15 lb dumbbells 3 x 12
Supine Bicep Curls: 10 lb dumbbells 3 x 12  (these were awesome)
Triceps Extension: 20 lb dumbbell (single) 3 x 12
Triceps Bench Press: 12.5 lb dumbbells 3 x 12
Cable Push Down: 40lbs 3 x 12
Push Up: 35
Triceps Dips: 3 x 12
Walk Outside: 25 minutes ish

Playlist Picks: Y’know? I haven’t listened to Revelations nearly as much as some other Audioslave albums, even though I’m properly obsessed with their debut–but, there are some really good songs on it. Listening to “Moth” this morning. It’s soft, yet hard at the same time and I’ve always loved that quality in Chris Cornell’s singing. This is also an underplayed song from one of my favorite Guano Apes album. No more, though. “Wash it Down” is frickin’ awesome.

And, the story of this HR graph is “Drop me off at the corner, I’ll walk.” When you’re really into it and sitting is just killing your mood. 😄

Essential Goth/post punk/alternative bands

Hello weirdos! A lot of folks seem to be a little lost when first setting foot into the goth subculture and don’t know where to go for band recommendations. Here’s a list of important, influential bands that contributed to the goth subculture - along with several favs - I put together with Dean (angry punk pictured above).

In order to avoid classification issues, they’re categorized by sound rather than specific genre. Keep in mind that this list is personal, and most importantly, ever growing! If you would like to add a band, submit your recommendations to the list here. I would love to have your contributions. So, here we go:

Sounds dead or undead:

  • Bauhaus (1978-2008) “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” is a national anthem. Lead singer Peter Murphy has really pointy cheek bones.
  • Peter Murphy (1983-present) his solo work, not as angular as his facial features.
  • Love and Rockets (1985-present) Peter Murphy got stuck hanging upside  down on stage and the Bauhaus members formed a band without him.
  • Joy Division (1976-1980) Ian Curtis was an energetic dancer, to say the least. “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and “Transmission” are famous songs.
  • The Sisters of Mercy (1980-present) Andrew Eldritch is not goth, he swears.
  • The Cure (1976-present) lead singer Robert Smith is a giant cat with red lipstick. He cries on stage and his tears cure cancer.
  • Cocteau Twins (1979-1997)
  • Sex Gang Children (1991-present)
  • Wire (1976-1980) seriously underrated. Would recommend the album “Pink Flag”.
  • Lydia Lunch amazing female singer. Try the album “13.13”.
  • Clan of Xymox (1983-present) are you kidding no one’s voice is this deep.
  • The Chameleons (1981-2003) has the ability to sound woeful yet jolly.
  • The Mission (1986-present) “Into the Blue” is a good start.
  • Depeche Mode (1980-present) dark and gloomy synths. Known for “Personal Jesus”, “Enjoy the Silence”, “Never let Me Down Again” and a billion others.
  • Fields of the Nephilim (1984-present) vocalist Carl McCoy is a desert cowboy.
  • The March Violets (1981-present) listen to “The Botanic Verses”.
  • The Bolshoi (1983-1988) start with the album “Friends”.
  • The Danse Society (1980-present) try the album “Heaven is Waiting”.
  • The Southern Death Cult (1981-1983) has a song called “Fatman”. Ian Astbury teamed up with Billy Duffy from Theatre of Hate to create Death Cult which later became The Cult, another band worth checking out.
  • Play Dead (1981-1985) doesn’t like being called goth. Musicians that don’t like being labeled? Unheard of.
  • Corpus Delicti (1993-1998) name means “body of crime”. Just saying.
  • Nosferatu (1988-present) actual vampires making music.
  • Big Electric Cat
  • Rosetta Stone
  • Susperia
  • Mephisto Walz (1985-present)
  • The Wake pretty sure Eldritch’s cousin is in the video “Christine”.
  • Echo & the Bunnymen (1978-present) known for “The Killing Moon” which you might remember from the movie Donnie Darko.
  • The Jesus & Mary Chain (1983-present) known for “Just Like Honey”.

  • Dead Can Dance (1981-present)
  • And Also the Trees (1979-present) the dictionary definition of “dark and brooding”.

  • Magazine (1977-2011) listen to the album “Real Life”.
  • Concrete Blonde (1986-present)
  • Gene Loves Jezebel (1980-present)
  • Tones on Tail (1982-1984) Daniel Ash’s (Bauhaus) illegitimate child side project.
  • Curve (1990-2005) Toni Haliday’s seductive alto voice against a backdrop of layered guitars and drum loops; fans of Curve generally regard Garbage as having stole their shtick and made it pop-friendly.
  • Bella Morte (1996-present)
  • Leæther Strip (1988-present) with forays into industrial/ebm; Highly Recommend “Serenade For The Dead” and “Self-Inflicted”.
  • Love Like Blood (1989-2011) the Sisters of Mercy and Type O Negative’s German child.
  • The Merry Thoughts (1983-1998) another German band that sounds like the Sisters of Mercy.
  • A Pale Horse Named Death (2011-present) another Type O Negative offshoot, this band has the original drummer on vocals and their drummer on drums. Very dark and devoid of Type O’s black humor, but still a great listen.
  • The Cruxshadows (1992-present) an alternative musical start for many. The important thing: spiky hair.

Deathrockers and undead punks:

  • Christian Death (1979-present) founded by Rozz Williams, but faced several line up issues (a second Christian Death featured Valor Kand rather than Rozz Williams). Known for “Romeo’s Distress”. Start with “Only Theatre of Pain” then “Catastrophe Ballet”.
  • Specimen (1980-present) features the cofounder of the Batcave. Best known for “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and Johnny Slut being awesome.
  • Cinema Strange (1994-present) listen to the album of the same name. Known for their acts on stage.
  • The Deadfly Ensemble similar in feel to Cinema Strange with the same “story telling” aspect.
  • Catholic Spit
  • Voodoo Church (1982-present)
  • Misfits (1977-present) 1950s horror told by crazy guys with guitars and muscles. Personal favorite album: “Static Age”. Singer Glenn Danzig went on to create Danzig. Also make your day better by listening to the “Monster Mash” cover.
  • The Cramps (1976-2009) originators of “psychobilly”. Highly original and sleazy with class.
  • Alien Sex Fiend (1982-present) husband and wife that sound like legit extra-terrestrials. Proof that there is no such thing as taking yourself seriously.
  • The Damned (1976-present) lead singer, Dave Vanian, is a vampire.
  • Blood and Roses underrated. Listen to “Your Sin is Your Salvation”.
  • The Birthday Party (1977-1983) pretty jazzy. Nick Cave, vocalist, likes to wear suits and release bats from caves.
  • Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (1984-present) this guys is so interesting he is set apart from the Bad Seeds and he has a movie.
  • Virgin Prunes (1977-1986) known for “Baby Turns Blue”.
  • The Psychedelic Furs (1977-present) remember the movie “Pretty in Pink”? Well there. Try the album “Psychedelic Furs”!

  • The Morgans (mid 1990s-1996) try “Half Girl Half Jesus”.
  • Xmal Deutschland (1980-1990)
  • XTC (1972-2006)

Angry about something:

  • Siouxsie and the Banshees (1976-2002) pronounced “Suzy”. I know you know, but I didn’t at first. “Spellbound, “Happy House”, “Cities in Dust”, plenty to listen to. And, Siouxsie Sioux rocks.
  • Killing Joke  (1978-present) where do I begin? Do I begin at all? You know what, it doesn’t matter if you skip this entire list and just listen to this one band. I’ll spare you the essay and recommend the album of the same name, “Laugh? I nearly bought one!”, “Democracy”, “Extremities, Dirt and Various Repressed Emotions” and “Pandemonium”. More than the sound are the lyrics, the members and the message.
  • 1919 (1980-present) underrated to the extreme. Similar to Killing Joke in sound and vibe.
  • Nina Hagen (1971-present) she’s wicked cool, in sound and style. And also she’s German.
  • Type O Negative (1990-2010) American metal band with widely respected singer/bassist, the late Peter Steele.
  • 45 Grave (1979-present)
  • Swans (1982-present)
  • The Stranglers (1974-present)
  • New Model Army (1980-present)
  • Public Image Limited aka PIL (1978-present) John Lydon’s [aka Jonny Rotten of Sex Pistols] post-punk band that created gems like “The Order of Death” and “Rise”.
  • Life of Agony (1989-present) Alternative metal band from Brooklyn. Had Type O Negative’s original drummer after he left. Slightly thrashy, but sludgy and dark as well.

Witchy, “psycho-delic” or heavily historical:

  • Switchblade Symphony (1989-1999) would recommend the album “Serpentine Gallery”.

  • Everything off of the Wax Trax! label circa 1990

Presumably angry punks:

  • Dead Kennedys (1978-1986) featured living people and some unforgettable tunes, notably from the album “Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables”.
  • Sex Pistols (1975-2008) So punk, much anarchy.
  • Bad Brains (1977-present) a mix of punk and reggae, a genre within itself that redefined the scene.

  • Plasmatics (1977-1988)
  • X-Ray Spex (1976-present) featuring the ever so awesome and PVC’s opposite, Poly Styrene.
  • Television (1973-present)
  • Bad Religion (1979-present) - note: skip “Into The Unknown”, everything else is golden

Halloween Town escapees:

  • Voltaire evil top hat wearer that was featured in an episode of Billy and Mandy’s Grim Adventures.
  • Creature Feature did you know? Edward Gorey and Danny Elfman had kids.
  • Nox Arcana creepy soundtrack for your life…or afterlife.

More freaky people:

  • Tom Waits (1949-present) the essence of a Western.
  • David Bowie (1964-present) commonly referred to as “God”.
  • Leonard Cohen (1967-present) he’s Canadian.
  • John Cale (1965-present)
  • Propaganda (1982-2005)

  • Nico former Velvet Underground member, German ex-model singing songs titled things like “Janitor of Lunacy” off-key.
  • The Smiths (1982-1987) Morrissey is like the Charlie Brown of British pop music: he’ll never win, and therefore is One Of Us.

POCs in Goth/post punk/alternative bands masterpost

Here’s a list of bands featuring members of color. Most are influential, others new discoveries or future freak gods. Thanks to research and helpful readers, here’s a bit of sick sound suitable for all taste buds:

Goth, dark or industrial:

  • Creature Feature - Erik X is an evil composer and organ player with a special gift for raising the dead.
  • Plastique Noir -the Brazilian band that made the song “Empty Streets” that’s just too dark to handle.
  • O. Children - contrary to popular belief, Tobi O’Kandi is not, in fact, a black reincarnation of Ian Curtis.

Punk, hardcore or post-hardcore:

  • Bad Brains - why most of the bands on this list even exist.

  • Rough Francis - founded by the sons of David Hackney of Death.

  • Dev Hynes - a British musician who started out in a punk band Test Icicles then went solo as a folk/indie musician as Lightspeed Champion and now is doing an electronic/R&B thing as Blood Orange.
  • L’Arc-en-Ciel - Okay, so these guys are Japan’s other most famous export. These guys got known outside of japan for doing some major anime theme songs (Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam 00, NANA live action movie, etc) and were the first Japanese act to headline Madison Square Garden (Japanese rock bands really like New York for some reason). Their bassist tetsuya (formally known as tetsu) gets bonus points for being one of Japan’s only out LGBT celebrities (he’s Bi).
  • Doll$Box
  • Letlive
  • The Chariot
  • Trashtalk
  • Gogol Bordello - self described as “gypsy punk”. Singer Eugene Hütz is Russian-Ukranian with Romani heritage and born with a ‘stache. Nearly crazier than Little Big and Korpiklaani combined.
  • Blackfire
  • The Bots - punk duo made of two brothers.
  • Bow Wow Wow - IIIIIII Waaaant Caaandy!!!
  • Love Equals Death
  • Ritualization - blackened death metal from Orléans, France
  • Teengenerate
  • Ten Grand
  • Letlive
  • Martin Sorrondeguy - spoke out about US based Latino issues in many of his lyrics and was involved in bands Los Crudos, Limp Wrist and Needles.
  • Ghost Town

Metal, funk/rap/reggae metal fusion or core:

  • Blasphemy - Black metal, the biggest irony on earth as Caller of the Storms remains one of the rare black musicians within the genre.
  • Babymetal - this Japanese trio is more metal than a viking woman on her period in the middle of a battlefield drinking the blood of her enemies to the sound of Immortal…for some at least.

  • Myrath
  • God Forbid

  • Vodun - like invasion, marries punk, psychedelic, and doom metal influenced instrumentals with soul influenced vocals to create a unique and original takes on doom metal.
  • Sevendust
  • Animals as Leaders - most suggested band on this list and for good reason.
  • Veil of Maya
  • Oceano
  • Body Count - Ice T’s metal band rules. It would be a little tastier with ice cubes though.
  • Hirax - pioneering thrash/speed metal band (with hardcore influences). Katon De Pena is one of the most distinctive vocalists of the then-burgeoning California metal scene. Though they never achieved the success of some of their contemporaries like Metallica or Slayer, they have long been an insiders’ favorite and cited as an influence by bands ranging from Napalm Death to Cannibal Corpse to Darkthrone.

  • Gevolt - Yiddish band from Israel.
  • The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza
  • Gridlink
  • X Japan - Probably Japan’s most famous metal export. These guys are the reason Visual Kei (basically Japan’s gothic metal scene) exists. All those flashy JRock bands wouldn’t exist without X Japan. They also recently just played a huge show at Madison Square Garden.
  • Maximum the Hormone - Also known as “the guys that did that weird opening and ending to death note”, MTH do a fantastic combination of metal, punk, and even pop. The best part about MTH is that their lyrics don’t make sense even when translated so you can just have mindless fun listening to them even if you understand Japanese.
  • Suffocation - one of the most influential death metal acts of all time. Terrance Hobbs’ incredible mastery of the guitar allowed the band to blend complex technicality into the genre without sacrificing raw brutality.
  • Versailles Philharmonic Quintet

  • Heaven in Her Arms

  • Sarcofago - Brazilian band

  • The English Beat
  • Kenna
  • Mono
  • One Ok Rock
  • ELLEGARDEN - JAPAN’S BEST 90s/EARLY 2000s POP PUNK ROCK EXPORT I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING. Part of what contributes to this is Takeshi Hosomi (singer/rhythm guitarist) writing ¾ of the band’s discography in perfect english. Unfortunately they went on hiatus in 2006, but that spawned two more fantastic bands: Takeshi does experimental progressive indie in the HIATUS (its the same guy I swear), and guitarist Shinichi Ubukata formedNothing’s Carved In Stone which is basically a Japanese alt. rock supergroup.
  • The Hiatus
  • Nothing’s Carved in Stone
  • Shonen Knife - you can’t talk about japanese girl rock without the literal originators of the movement/popularity. Because Kurt Cobain said he listened them, a HUGE surge of all girl bands started popping up over Japan.

  • Set it Off
  • The Novembers
  • Shiva En Exil
  • Guns N’ Roses - Slash.
  • (Hed) PE - (or Planet Earth) original sound described as “G-Punk”, a fusion of punk rock and gangsta rap.
  • Soundgarden
  • She Wants Revenge
  • Skip the Use - with influence from various genres and a black lead.
  • Elsiane - Formed in Montreal. Fronted by Elsieanne Caplette. Trip-hop/downtempo.
  • Fall Out Boy’s bassist Pete Wentz English/German and Afro-Jamaican.

Music in Magic: the Gathering

I’d like to post something before I forget to, so here goes.

One thing that I believe the MtG community can always use more of is music. Truly, the only mtg-related music producer that is on here that I know of is the truly amazing @visiblespectrummusic. Check out his music here if you haven’t already, his works are all really awesome and they cover different genres so it’s almost a given that you’ll adore at least some, if not all of them.

For example: his song for Eldritch Moon is positively beautiful, and I listen to his Spectrums album on my mp3 player constantly.

But, that said, Cody is one guy (or, in some occasions, one band, but you get the idea), and cannot supply an infinite amount of music.

So I’m making this post to ask people to reblog it and add onto it anyone else that makes any sort of music related to Magic, because it’s, I feel, really underappreciated.

And, if you can’t, do consider rebloging this just to get the word around. Thank you! I, and the artists that will be on this, appreciate this very much.

Tagging some big names like @flavoracle @sarkhan-volkswagen @sarpadianempiresvol-viii @sketchydoodles @sarpadianempiresvol-viii @elspethsunschampion @hopelessly-vorthosian @odric-master-swagtician @bace-jeleren and, of course, @wizardsmagic

I will go first: there’s a youtube channel called Falconshield: The Band. Now, admittedly, their channel is dedicated mostly to music about League of Legends. Which is why I was very pleasantly surprised when, a while ago, they released two awesome tracks: “Khanfall”, a very upbeat rock (it’s rock, right?) song about Tarkir, and “Ignite the Spark” (in collaboration with Julia Westlin), a very emotional and powerful song about Chandra. Do check them out.

Nagisa: ……
Long haired student: Our dream?

Nagisa: I won’t let go
Nagisa: Because my teacher would have done the same!

Random student 2: Super-cute!
Random student 3: Awesome! This is the first time I’ve seen an actress in person!
Kayano: I…I thought we’d be able to meet, just the two of us!!
Random student 4: Don’t mess with me, we’re all high schoolers!! There’s no reason that there’d be guys here that couldn’t survive the law of the jungle!!
Random student 5: Ah, what? Nagisa, you’re already getting out?
Nagisa: You guys mentioned… a rumor about twenty-eight heroes who saved the Earth.
Nagisa: That’s absolute nonsense.
Nagisa: Those who were there weren’t heroes. No matter where they are, they are killers.

…It kind of sounds like Nagisa is planning to murder those guys in the background. Haruna Mase is Kayano’s stage name in case the name doesn’t sound familiar to you.

There’s a lot of random characters in this. I hope this isn’t too confusing to read in spite of all the lines from “Random student X”. I have to admit that the rough way a few students talked were hard for me to understand. Some of them have a thick gangster accent, along with a lot of slang that isn’t in most dictionaries…

Hopefully this is all correct, but there might be a few little mistakes ^.^

Saudade: Ch5

There was no use in arguing, it was pretty clear you couldn’t stay away from Brendon. When you woke up in his arms the following day, you both agreed it would be best for you to just give in and stay at his place until Josh came home. You were tearing yourself apart being alone in that apartment and it was doing you absolutely no favors. Brendon helped you pack up a couple things, reassuring you that he’d always be more than willing to drive you back over if you ever wanted or needed it, and then took you over to his place. As much as you tried, you couldn’t keep your hands off of him. It seemed like almost every conversation led to his lips on your neck or your arms around his waist or the two of you, no clothes, fucking relentlessly on the sofa or in the shower or on the bed. It hadn’t even been twenty four hours in his house and you already felt the chemistry between the two of you strengthen. There was something about Brendon that you craved. Being with him made you feel like being on a constant high, inhaling a reckless happiness, swallowing some sort of euphoric drug.

So naturally, staying at his house felt like being on vacation in paradise. You had only been there for a day but you were already not wanting to leave. Unlike your tiny apartment, Brendon owned a house. A whole house, all to himself. There was a pool, a giant painting of Frank Sinatra, a wine fridge, and two dogs, Penny and Bogart. You learned a lot of things about him too. Almost at every hour of the day, he either had a glass of beer in his hand or a joint. He smoked weed often, and drank, something you rarely ever saw from Josh. However, there were some similarities. You saw the same snapback sporting, goofy grinning, ripped jean wearing, passionate drummer in Brendon that you saw in Josh. In fact, Brendon didn’t only play drums, but he played a lot of other instruments too, and sang. “Geez,” you laughed when you found out. “You’re practically a legend.”

“I guess so,” Brendon shrugged, taking a long drag. He had decided to take you to the studio the next day, just a small shack looking thing outside his house by the pool. There was a glowing sign that read Urielectric, a bit cheesy but definitely a masterpiece, several guitars, a drum set, a couple awards, a synth pad, a computer, and ripped out notebook paper scattered on the floor.

“What’s this?” you wondered, picking up a piece of paper. Your eyes scanned across the words, the phrases blended into what sounded like poetry, gorgeous metaphors and clever puns intertwined and scrawled onto the page in what you assumed to be his handwriting. “It’s amazing.”

“I write songs,” he explained. “I have a band actually, Panic! at the Disco. I used to do it with some other guys, but uh, it didn’t really work out.” There’s a pause and something in his eyes that looks like nostalgia mixed with heartbreak. “But uh, it’s great now.” He clears his throat. “Just me, and it’s been better than ever. My last album hit the top of the charts, and it’s pretty awesome.”

“Josh has a band too,” you nodded, the words falling out of your mouth so naturally you didn’t even notice until it was too late. You mentally cursed yourself. For all the times you would brag about your boyfriend, now it was finally coming back to get revenge.

“Who?” he did a doubletake. It’s then that you realize you’ve never actually spoken his name before to Brendon.

“Josh,” you repeated. “Uh, my boyfriend.”

Brendon stared at you, almost in shock. “His name’s Josh?”

“Yeah,” you replied.

“And he has a band?” he recalled.

“That’s what I said,” you eyed him strangely. “Why?”

“And uh, earlier, you said he left for tour or something?” Brendon cleared his throat.

“Why are you acting so weird?” you raised an eyebrow. “Do you know him?”

“It’s not like, Josh Dun, right? From Twenty One Pilots?” he wondered.

“That’s him,” you answered. “Why? Is that going to be a problem or something?”

“No, no, I uh, um…” Brendon looked uneasy. “He’s just, a really nice guy. We’re friends, kind of, sort of. I mean, we hang out sometimes. We grab drinks, skateboard, that sort of stuff.”

“I knew you looked familiar,” you nodded. “Josh listens to your music, he likes it.”

“Yeah,” he nodded slowly. He looks uncomfortable.

“Something wrong?” you inquired.

“Look,” he sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Josh is just, he’s a super great guy. Honest. And he’s lucky as hell to have you, I mean, you guys are perfect for each other. I just feel bad I guess.”

“And you think I don’t?” you interjected.

“You’re the one who called me,” Brendon narrowed his eyes. “Don’t you dare start to throw a pity party, y/n. Don’t blame this on me. I didn’t do anything.”

“You’re the one being a huge dick going around with that relentless ego of yours,” you argued.

“Huge dick, huh?” he challenged, taking you and pinning you to the wall, tight grip on your wrists, his face dangerously close to yours. “How about we see how this huge dick looks getting shoved down your throat, huh?”

“Do it then,” you teased. “Or are you too pussy to face fuck me in this fancy little studio of yours anyways?”

“Oh I can shut you up real quick, princess,” Brendon growled, pushing you to your knees and unbuttoning and unzipping his jeans, shoving down his boxers and pulling his erection up to your lips, grabbing a fistful of your hair and shoving his cock into your mouth. “Better show me what else that mouth of yours can do, baby.” You looked up at him with a playful gaze and his lust filled eyes stared down at you, gripping your hair tighter and pushing another inch down your throat. Your eyes started to water as he tugged your head back and forth, pumping his dick in and out of your mouth, moans escaping his lips. “And to think that just seconds ago you were trying to defend your precious boyfriend, huh? Josh?” He started to go faster, using his other hand to clamp down on your hair, slamming his cock between your lips. “Of course he’d be the kind to baby you. I bet the thought of calling you a slut wouldn’t even cross his mind.” Brendon began to force you to deepthroat him and you’re choking on his cock, staring up at him pleadingly, but he just drags his lower lip between his teeth and laughs softly. “You’re such a fucking whore.” He starts to go faster and faster and you’re barely able to breathe when he cums, the warm liquid sliding down your throat and filling up your mouth, and he’s gasping and cursing and moaning your name, tugging so tight on your hair. When Brendon pulls out he takes a deep breath, wiping the dribble of cum from your lips, tugging his jeans back up and fixing himself before pulling you up to your feet and kissing you.

“Holy fuck Brendon,” you moaned into his mouth.

“Yeah,” he chuckled when pulled away. “Josh can’t work you in the ways that I can, huh?”

“Brendon,” you stared at him, knees growing weak.

“Goddammit, I bet you’re soaked,” he smirked. “Aren’t you?”

“Bren-” you began to protest again but he pulled you towards him, kissing your lips and then trailing them down your neck, sucking at the skin for a moment before withdrawing himself.

“You’re so sexy. So distracting,” he clicked his tongue. “And to think that I actually thought for a second I might get any work done with you in this studio.” He wrapped you in his arms and kissed the top of your head. “God, I love you y/n.”

You froze and that’s when he realized what he had said. You fixed your eyes on him, several moments passing before you dared to speak. “Y-you love me?” you wondered, pulling back and staring at him.

“Well I uh, um, I just…” he was at a loss for words, staring down at his shoes before glancing at you. “Yeah. I do.”

“Oh,” you bit down on your lower lip.

“Is that, uh, is that okay?” Brendon’s eyes softened. “Look I didn’t want to-”

“It’s okay,” you interrupted. “I mean, um, I love you too. Or at least I think I do. I don’t know.” You took a deep breath. “I don’t want to admit it, but I’m pretty sure I do.” You glanced up at Brendon. “Uh, if that even makes any sense.”

“Yeah,” he reassured awkwardly. “It does.”

“I just um, I don’t want this to be, well…” you took a deep breath. “This has to be our secret, okay?”

“Of course,” Brendon nodded.

“We’re not telling Josh, we’re not telling anybody,” you stated. “Got it?”

“Would never cross my mind,” he insisted.

“Okay,” you closed your eyes tight. You stepped back towards him and gave him a kiss on the lips. “I’m going to leave you alone for a bit. You get some work done, yeah? No distractions.”

“Yeah, okay,” he gives a soft laugh.

When you exit the studio, you walk back towards his house replaying all that had been said and done in your head. You were crazy, absolutely fucking crazy. You tried to clear your mind, walking back into the house and sitting on the couch, switching on the television, Bogart hopping into your lap. “What the fuck am I going to do?” you sighed. “It’s not like I can just leave Brendon, and it’s not like I’m going to leave Josh either.” You stared at the puppy. “And now I’m fucking talking to a dog. I must really be out of my mind now.” Your phone rang on the armrest beside you and you instantly perked up. You hadn’t heard your phone ring in days. Even more surprisingly, it was Josh. You instantly picked it up. “Hey!”

“Hey baby,” he greeted. “How are you doing?”

“I’m great,” you responded, the words being said before you could even think. You were doing pretty great, you couldn’t deny that. “How about you?”

“I’m fine,” he sighed. “I just miss you.”

“Yeah, I miss you too,” you frowned. “A lot.”

“Ty said maybe when we get back to the states, uh, we can fly you out,” he suggested. “You can come with us on the road for a couple days. He’s letting Jenna, for some of the east coast dates.”

“Oh,” an unintentional flat toned response slips out of your mouth.

“W-well you don’t have to, um, if you don’t want to,” he quickly reassured. “I just thought that uh, maybe you know, since I haven’t seen you in forever, you might want to spend some time with me, see one of our shows…” There’s a pause like he’s waiting for you to say something but you’re too busy contemplating whether to stay with Brendon or fly out to Josh that you forget to actually respond to him. “You know what, it’s fine, forget it.”

“No, no,” you instantly break out of your daze. “Uh, I’d love to. I’m just kind of shocked. That sounds great.”

“Yeah?” his voice instantly sounds so much more enthusiastic. “You’d really do that?”

“Sure,” you nodded. “I mean, Jenna’s coming, so Tyler’s cool with it, right?”

“Definitely,” he answered. “Dang, I miss you so much y/n.”

“I miss you too,” you murmured.

“It must be lonely in that apartment without me,” he mumbled and you blinked twice, trying to remember that’s where you’re supposed to be.

“It is,” you drew out the words slowly.

“I’m watching a movie right now with Tyler,” he explained. “I wish you were here beside me on this couch, wrapped up in my arms, your lips on my neck, just the way you know I like it. I miss being able to kiss you, to hug you, to have you beside me.” He lets out a breath and you envision him closing his eyes. “I really do miss you.”

“So do I baby,” you replied.

“But we’ll see each other again soon,” Josh insisted. “Don’t worry.”

“I know,” you swallowed uncomfortably.

“I’ve got to go, Tyler’s giving me rude glares,” he laughed. “I love you.”

“Love you,” you chuckled, waiting to hear the beep, signaling you that he had hung up. When it came, you closed your eyes tight, taking a deep breath and then setting your phone down.

“That was cute,” the voice behind you made you jump in your seat, Bogart barking in your lap at the sudden jostle of your legs.

“Holy fucking shit, Brendon,” you clenched your chest, turning around and gasping for breath. “You almost gave me a heart attack.”

“Yeah whatever,” he teased, flopping down on the couch beside you. There was a pause. “You really miss him?”

“Of course I do,” you narrowed your eyes. “I mean, yeah, staying at your place makes things a lot better, but you’re not him. You know?”

“Oh believe me, I know,” Brendon smirked. “I know I’m a thousand times better.”

“There’s that ego again,” you rolled your eyes.

“You love it,” he insisted. “I know you do.”

“You don’t know shit,” you playfully jabbed his side.

“I know that you can’t resist a little bit of this,” he chuckled, kissing your lips and starting to climb on top of you, your legs parting and letting his waist delve between them, slowly grinding down on your center. You moaned into his mouth softly and he hummed with delight. When you pulled away, you both laughed.

“Why does every single thing we talk about always end up with us having sex?” you complained.

“Like I said,” Brendon shrugged. “I’m just so irresistible.”

“Oh shut up,” you scoffed. “I think you need a lesson in humility.”

“Yeah?” he raised an eyebrow, amused. “And how might you accomplish that?”

“I might have a few ideas,” a naughty smirk tugged at the sides of your lips.

“I’m all for it then,” he grinned. “Care to show me?”

“I’d love to,” you bit down on your lower lip for a moment before leaning down to kiss him again, tugging at his shirt, legs wrapped around his waist, ready to finally switch things up for a change and be the one in charge.

So this happened and I have no words to adequately describe how taken aback I am. All I can say is thank you and it’s not enough. You have been there for me when I’ve needed it most and you mean the world to me.

Now… to celebrate. 10 days ago, I posted the master list for a writing challenge that was, in my opinion, pretty damn successful. I’ve had several requests to do another round, so, without further ado, round 2 of  the Album Fanfiction Challenge has been given the green light.

Have you ever been listening to an album and the lyrics just spoke to you, inspired a work of fanfiction in some sort of way? That’s been happening to me a lot lately, so I thought why not make a challenge out of it.

Here are the rules:

  • You do not have to be following me [mrs-squirrel-chester or @mamapeterson] but I ain’t gonna lie, it’d be kinda awesome if you were.
  • Can be any pairing or ship, reader-insert, OC; or even no pairing. Write what you want to write.
  • Pick a fandom, any fandom. BUT if you decide to write for more than one fandom, please pick a new album for the new fandom.
  • Can be fluff, angst, smut; whatever. Or maybe just a headcanon kind of thing.
  • No word limit. You want to write a poem or drabble? Maybe something longer, like 15,000 words. Your fic can also be a part of another challenge. Even if it’s part of a WIP. Go for it.
  • Pick an album that has inspired you. It can be old or new, any style, any artist, anything that you want.
  • Include the song title / album information anywhere in your summary or author’s note. Let’s give credit to these amazing musical inspirations.
  • Post your fic by May 31, 2017. Time zones don’t matter. As long as it is May 31 where you are when you post, the it counts.
  • Your fic can either be a story based on the song, or just have it somehow highlight the song, BUT make your fic relevant to the song you choose, please! (Basically, please do more for this challenge than having a song from your album playing in the background.)
  • If you also post on AO3, please share with the mrs_squirrel_chester_Album_Fanfiction_Challenge.
  • TAG ME IN YOUR FIC! If I haven’t liked or reblogged within a week, let me know!

I feel like LE never gets the love and recognition she deserves I mean the girl is one of the best songwriter and composer in kpop, she is also one of the best female rapper out there, she wrote and composed almost all of EXID’s albums including the last one (eclipse) which is amazing, she is such an important part of EXID please show her some love

My fav Mother Mother albums are basically a list of the albums chronologically (with Touch Up being my fav and Very Good Very Bad Thing being my least fav) so while I was excited for this new album I was aware it might not be for me as their style has been evolving into a more stadium rock sound that’s more produced and my favorites of theirs are the more weird and stripped down things that focus on risky, unpredictable melodies and harmony.

But actually No Culture is probably above the Sticks for me in terms of number of songs I love, maybe tied with Eureka actually though there certainly is a more stadium vibe, they seem to have found a good balance between style and scope. It’s an awesome album. I am very pleasantly surprised. :)

Closure (Sam x reader)

anonymous asked: Could I request a drabble/one shot? Maybe one where… Sam is in love with the reader, and she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, until they have to pose as a couple in public and she sees what’s so fantastic about him?

“Just…” Sam breathed out as he leaned on the archway at the end of the bunker.

“Tell Y/N how you feel. That’s it; not a big deal just man up, go over there and tell Y/N-”

“Are you having an inner-monologue again?” Dean came up beside Sam suddenly with a mug of coffee. He sipped and Sam clenched his jaw, letting out a short scoff.

“Course not. I- don’t- what are you talking about?”
