While rummaging through a box he found in the attic, England uncovers some old photos, along with old memories.
(These took so long to make, I hope you guys like them! I was trying to put subtle stuff in the photos to try and tell a story, I’ve never done it before so it was good practice! I might end up writing something for this if I decide to stop being lazy.)
there was a war in your childhood home, and you can still remember the fires, how the blood was
pretty and sick on the bathroom’s pristine tiles, your mother’s still warm body limp in the tub.
breathe in through the mouth: in, out, in. you are not guilty. her life is not on your hands.
it is okay to love things more than you love people; practical, even.
people have left you, people will leave you – things, though, ah! things will not abandon you.
buy yourself something nice. it is the least bad out of all your choices.
you die every night and are reborn at dawn; you are a walking graveyard,
an army of yesterdays’ ghosts, and you no longer remember who you were at the beginning.
do not weep for the stranger that once inhabited your bones.
you are in love with the idea of love more than you are in love with your lovers;
that is why all your relationships are fleeting, why you are always falling apart.
all the same, smile when he proposes. pretend you do not know how this is going to end.
oh, you poor, poor thing. all you have ever wanted was love’s sunlight, but all you ever got
were the thunderstorms, the clouds above your head heavy with sorrow, and so you chose
to drown out the rain between the thighs of a lover. do not regret it, for they were good nights.
you cradled your heart all your life with such care, and when the day came for you
to hand it to another, it shattered like glass in their grip. they did not mean to hurt you, you know.
they just wanted to hold on, afraid it will slip through their fingers like sand.
you are the king of bad choices, from lovers to the fights you pick when you are far from sober;
you lost your sanity along the line between what is right and what is not, and you started hungering.
i fear the day your hunger will be quenched – only justice will sate you, and that calls for everyone’s dying.
you are the one everyone fears: the monster in the closet, the witch at the stake – the devil, falling.
all of this is because they cannot understand you. they fear you like they fear death; instinctively.
do not mind them, for death is a kind god: the sweetest sleep, the darkness from which life is born.
some days, you think the sea is but a giant mirror, the vanity of coquettish stars and lazy clouds in passing.
some days, you think it is the fury of our earth mother, her tears and her sorrow saltwater in the breeze.
on all of them, you want to sail its’ lengths; you want to get lost out on the abyss, feel small beneath the sky.
you learned early on the art of silent war – the war carried by words, sharper than any other blade.
at the same time, you have learned how little you mattered to the world, and so you cast yourself in armor.
i just wish you would learn to love yourself, if only a little. your own words have been cutting you all along.
there is a sickness in you called longing: you’re wanton, thirsty, hungry, wanting – what, exactly,
well, that is part two, and none of us is really sure. you’re standing here, hands reaching for; come inside.
i will pour us both some wine, and we can pass the waiting time together. one day, you will know what you are lusting after.
all you have ever loved seems to be taken from you, until your house is left an empty, cold thing,
and your soul has been turned into a ruin. do not despair; get up from the floor, dust your clothes.
there are seeds on the upper shelves in the shed. it is a time as good as any to start keeping a garden.
poetry for the signs: the “it is okay” edition, L. Schreiber
You are only a child when they start feeding you stories about the greatness your last name carries.
You are six years old and playing with your fake wand as your father looks at you with pride and assures you your future will be filled with power and no wizard will look down on you.
You are seven when he starts telling you about those with less pure bloodlines, you nod your head as your idol, your hero, fills you with hatred and ignorance. “Dad is always right” he says, you believe him.
You are eight when you watch him mistreat others and spit on their heads for their status. You watch and learn.
You are nine when he encourages you to do the same and smirks at you with pride shining in his eyes. He calls you his good boy. You’ll do anything to have him look at you like that again.
You are ten when you notice there’s a darkness that creeps in your home on some days, even though the curtains aren’t closed.
You are eleven when he asks you to befriend the boy you’ve been hearing whispers about since you can remember. He says it’s your first task of many. You wear your name with pride.
You are twelve when he tells you you’re not his son unless you obey and bring glory to the old and proud family name. He tells you it’s your duty.
You are thirteen when you try to ask him for advice and he closes the door in your face because he’s busy. He says one day you’ll understand.
You are fourteen when he tells you it’s almost time to make your family proud.
You are fifteen when the darkness in your home no longer lurks behind closed doors.
You are sixteen when he lets the darkness use you as a punching bag. You are sixteen when he asks you to choose between following his path or dying. When he asks you to damage your soul.
You are seventeen and you’ve seen more death than most people your age. You have scars time cannot fade. You can end all of this by turning the boy in, quick and easy, you’d ensure a good future that way, but you don’t. Because you no longer believe Dad is always right.
You are Draco Malfoy, but you wish you were just Draco.
Drink lots of water and go pee a lot! It’ll help flush out the toxins
Make sure to keep your face moisturized. The last thing you want to deal with when your sick is itchy irritated skin
If you have the energy, do some light exercise. It’ll help to invigorate your body
Avoid too much screen time D: (sorry that includes tumblr)
Try to avoid wearing makeup, or wear as little as possible
Drinking Ginger Tea helps a lot :3
If you have a clogged/phlegm-y throat, gargling salt water will help (don’t drink it though– you’ll feel even sicker!)
Other easy teas are milk and honey or water lemon and honey
Hot showers help get the mucus out
As does vapor– fill a bowl with boiling water, then place your head over it with a towel covering your head and try to breathe through your nose. If it gets too hot just take the towel off for a couple of seconds and then continue (this is also great for clearing up the clogged pores in your face! :D)
When you go to bed, stack your pillows so that your head is elevated
Remember: Eyes, nose, and mouth are connected- so if you have a cold and wear contacts, its best to avoid wearing them if you can. You want to keep those three outlets as free as possible
Eating Ajwain seeds or drink ajwain tea helps if you feel nauseous
Eating prunes or drinking prune juice helps relieve constipation
For eating, remember the B.R.A.T diet: Bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Drinking chicken broth or apple juice is also really good for getting some nutrients without having to try to stomach solid food
The best OTC medicine to take if you have a headache is Aspirin because if it is an average headache it is most likely caused by a lack of blood flow to the brain, so blood thinners are good
Drink lots of water! It will do the same as Aspirin
Stay away from screens or straining your eyes at all and get some shut eye in a dark room
The government is comparing mutants to weapons, trying to get them all to register, but the real villain of the movie is MAGNETO.
There is now a US general who used armed soldiers to seize a school building full of children and who has captured the X-Men's leader and is using his brain to wipe out the entire mutant race. The real villain is still MAGNETO.
There's been a "cure" discovered that deprives mutants of their mutation and has been weaponized. Also, Jean Grey, one of the X-Men's own, has come back from the dead as a terrible being of unfathomable power. Somehow, the real villain of the movie manages to be MAGNETO.
Sebastian Shaw has been torturing, abusing, and manipulating mutants for decades, and he and the Hellfire Club plan to start WWIII. The villain of the movie is MAGNETO.
The US government is sanctioning a program that will lead to a dark timeline in which mutants are hunted by robots and rounded up in concentration camps. The villain of this movie is not Bolivar Trask, who is building the Sentinels, or Mystique, whose actions inadvertently cause the timeline to come to pass, but MAGNETO.
Apocalypse is a big scary dude from ancient times who wants to see the whole world burn. But don't worry! Guess who's still a villain? MAGNETO.
