society-of-sound

So im making this modern world, where certain humans turn into monsters and are put into this school (no name for it yet) where they learn how to be rid of it or atleast control it so they can be put back into society.

It’s gonna sound really serious but i’m just going to have fun with this and keep it casual.

These people who occasionally turn into monsters look almost exactly like humans except for small things like claws, fangs, markings etc. How visible it is depends on how far gone the person is.
How each individual turn is different and it’s all based on emotions.

Students are also labelled for safety.

MyKey Music

Music has always helped me cope with life. When I met you I had no way of knowing anyone could be my music. Your voice became my smile.
Your touch became my dance.
Your heartbeat became my favorite song.
We melted into a rhythm where no words were needed.
Our words were just the cover for the meaning of our tones.
We were whistling on a high note, but fell into a deep baritone.
Then we hit a few false notes, tried it again from the start but lost the frequency.
I had to stop the record before it and the needle broke.
I pulled so hard, static exploded forth into and blew out my ear drums.
It took so long to fill the void of silence that was left in its wake.
I learned my lesson.
Time has pasted and even if I’m deaf I’ll find a vibe strong enough to shock my soul back to life.

Biodiversity Below 'Safe' Levels? Ecologists Disagree

A new paper reports that over half of Earth’s land area has suffered biodiversity loss beyond “safe limits.”

The study, released today in Science, compiles a global dataset of biodiversity change and compares it to human land use patterns. The analysis shows that 58 percent of Earth’s land, which is home to 71 percent of the human population, has surpassed a recently proposed safe limit for biodiversity loss, beyond which ecosystems may no longer support human societies.

While the news sounds dire, other ecologists contend that the very notion of setting “safe limits” is a danger in itself, and criticize this line-in-the-sand approach to assessing the planet’s ecological health. In fact, critics say setting a limit may do more harm than good.
The Biodiversity Safety Scale

“We’re crossing into a zone of uncertainty,” says lead scientist Tim Newbold of University College London.

The safe limit is defined as a 10 percent reduction in the Biodiversity Intactness Index (BII), a measure of population abundances across many species relative to their numbers in the preindustrial era. The measure comes from the Planetary Boundaries framework proposed in 2009 and updated in 2015, which aims to set limits on properties of Earth to ensure a “safe operating space” — that is, environmental conditions suitable for us agricultural, industrial humans.

The Planetary Boundaries (PBs) are based on measurable properties for nine categories including climate change, ocean acidification, and ozone depletion. For each category, scientists have tried to establish a safe zone, a zone of uncertainty, and a high-risk zone.

The study by Newbold and colleagues is the most comprehensive assessment to date of where we stand on the Planetary Boundary scale in terms of biodiversity.

It is “really an impressive analysis bringing to bear some of the best datasets that we have,” says biologist Tom Oliver of the University of Reading, who wasn’t involved in the study.

i wrote a poem about someone who is not you!
i wrote a poem about some one who is funky
even more so than you…
despite that
the funky someone does not grace the walls of my mind
so much as you
and there is so much to observe
of your progressive
and
expanding
painting
i am broadening my horizons
to things
that don’t exist
outside that cave…
i am broadening my horizons
to things

Ok, so here’s my Overwatch theory

So this theory starts of with Zenyatta, and this entry in his bio

“ Zenyatta is an omnic robot monk who wanders the world in search of spiritual enlightenment. It is said that those who cross his path are never the same again. He believes that by forming people into relationships, the world can be healed, and a better society created.“

This may sound like a familiar backstory to a different character you all might know

I mean it’s even got Wander in the description! But as you all could guess this is a big theory, and we’re nowhere near done, becuase we have a lot more character comparisons!

The next character I’d like to talk about is Zarya. A big strong character with pink hair. Sylvia is also a big strong character with pink hair. They’re practically parallels of each other!

Reaper and Lord Hater are also very similar. They have the skull thing, have both died once, and even have the same english VA  Keith Ferguson.

This one’s not too strong, but Torbjorn and Commander Peepers are both small, have one eye. Torb’s turrets could be compared to the watchdogs, but that’s kind of a stretch.

And finally There’s Widowmaker and Dominator who have both almost killed other main characters multiple times, are both very heartless, and have a different skin color

I’m sure there’s other character comparisons that could be made, but these are just a few that I noticed.

Although there may be one thing in your mind that you might be thinking. “But how could Zarya be Sylvia if she hates omnics?” Well in Wander Over Yonder when Wander and Sylvia first met she wasn’t too keen of him, calling him a “Wandering weirdo,” and an interaction between Zarya and Zenyatta bears a striking resemblance to something both Wander and Sylvia would say. “Zarya: Watch your back, Omnic. Zenyatta: And I will watch yours as well.”

But yeah, this is just a dumb little theory I came up, although it’s interesting just how many similarities there are with some of these characters

Tomorrow is Nepeta’s Wriggling Day. I will celebrate by getting out of my cave and spending time with my family, and society, and playing Pokemon GO. Sounds like a great way to celebrate.

hi so I don't know if it's weird to ask you this but you seem like the best blog I know to ask (and I didn't want to make a post because I know mogai tumblr would be all over me) but for a while I have been IDing as pan because hypothetically if anyone met the right standards I could be interested, but tbh I can only see myself dating women in actuality so maybe I'm actually a lesbian? I'm really confused about the whole thing (you obviously dont have to answer this sorry if I'm bothering you)

it’s entirely up to you! if you know that you would date any gender as long as they meet the same strict criteria and don’t want to limit yourself to the lesbian label, pan is ok

if your standards are “woman” or really high when it comes to men/other genders compared to the criteria for women you would date, i suggest you reexamine whether your attraction to men isn’t conditioned by society

it kind of does sound like you’re enabling compulsory heterosexuality, the way you used “hypothetically”, and it’s quite common for lesbians to ID as bi/pan before realizing we’re lesbians

besides, if you only want to date women, you can ID as a lesbian regardless of any attraction you feel to men, unless you want to act on it

These sound awesome! and yeah i’ve read neverwhere and it’s AMAZING! but i’ll definitel check out the radio drama too. Thanks ^-^

the belief that white people are superior to those of all other races, especially the black race, and should therefore dominate society. ((sounds like u tbh, add not wanting gun control, yikes. wouldn't be surprised if u r a trump supporter))

LMAO A Trump supporter. This is literally your first visit to my blog, isn’t it?

Guys, should I keep posting these? On the one hand, I’m getting sad (the stupid; it hurts), but on the other, I kind of want to see how far down the rabbit hole we can go.

Ghostbusters **** Spoilers **** Thoughts on Anti-bullying and Heroes v. Villains

But I want to talk about the subtle but potent anti-bullying message in ghostbusters? Erin was bullied and outcast by society, but instead of letting that define her life, she made meaningful connections and friendships with Abbi, and eventually the rest of the ghostbusters. She wrote a book, had a degree, career, success, authentic friendships etc. She refused to be a victim and survived it.

Her foil is the male villain, who was also bullied and outcast by society, but he let it define his life and his death. He decided to be a creepy, jaded dude instead of seeking help, and honestly, he probably could have found where he fit in the world if he wasn’t so hell-bent on being a victim of popular society.

Sound familiar? It parallels reception to the movie itself. You have all these ghostbros who literally go out and BULLY the actors, people involved with the project, the fans, CHILDREN who are hyped for the movie, etc because they think they deserve better, somehow that their experiences are Special and Unparalleled by anyone else’s, and therefore, founded their identities on their ability to feel like it’s them against the world.

They see the movie and think they are being targeted specifically as villains, bc they relate to the villain’s worldview, and have the literal inability to project themselves on a female character, even thought she had the same exact struggle, except she responded to it like a well-adjusted human being with respect for her peers.
