Top 5 Apocalyptic Scenarios

@mrawesomepants, again, nailing these questions.

WindyCityTeacher’s OFFICIAL List of Top 5 Apocalyptic Scenarios:

#5 -Horrible Blood Disease. I do not have a strong immune system. I would immediately succumb to any sort of blood-borne disease. Dead instantly.

#4 - Rapture. Christian rapture, classic. I’m clearly stuck on earth. I immediately start a pet sanctuary for all the pets left behind and waste time by looting Burger Kings and hitting demons with a whiffleball bat.

#3 - Alien Invasion, terrifying, also fun. would immediately side with the aliens and spy on the human race for them. would low-key try sneezing on them just in case H.G. Wells was right. would test drive a spaceship into Mount Rushmore, suck it Jefferson.

#2 - Zombies. Standard zombies, I can’t run and I have no friends who would shield me so I imagine it would play out a lot like Zombieland, but without some unattainable-y attractive girl falling for me. Would also probably loot Burger Kings and hit zombies with a whiffleball bat.

#1 - Nuclear Winter. Most likely to happen with 45′s tiny Vienna sausage fingers on the button. If, somehow, I survive that Rogue One-esque ending, I would imagine opening up a school for all the triple-eyed, multiple-limb-ed mutant children. We’d still do common core though, because DeVos would probably survive with the other invertebrates.

Top 5 weirdest teaching stories

OFFICIAL List of Top 5 “Weird Teaching Stories”

#5 - Stroganoff. I have an odd, German-esque last name. Student called me Mr. Stroganoff once, which is not even close. She said “I see you, I think stroganoff, I can’t help it!” Haunts me to this day, makes me question my identity.

#4 - Horse Hair. A student asked me to look at a picture of a horse that was clearly taken in a moving car. Asked her why she took the picture. Said she loved its hair and wanted its hair for later. Asked if I thought the horse was pretty. I declined to answer.

#3 - Beard. Asked students what reward they wanted if they did well on the tests. Immediately told me they wanted me to shave my beard off. Did it, looked terrible, ruined my face for months. Weirds me out that there was no debate, they knew exactly what they wanted.

#2 - Fault In Our Stars - Student was reading Fault in Our Stars, told me she had read the last page and knew the main characters got married. I, tight-lipped, said “okay, let me know!” She returned two days later FURIOUS at me that I hadn’t warned her, accused me of hating her.

#1 - Parkour Filling out paperwork during a student non-contact day, heard skittering on the roof. Found students walking around on the roof of the building. Claimed they were doing parkour. Slowly descended the building and started at me like I was the weird one for yelling at them. They have all had parkour-related injuries throughout the year. But tell me more about how kids never get off the couch.

Two Roads Meet - Chapter 1

A/N: So this is the outcome of the first chapter of my new fic, as suggested in a prompt by one of you guys! I’m planning to update it weekly, although I haven’t yet decided on a specific day yet ^__^ Anyway, I really hope you like this and I’d love to know what you guys think of it! <3

Summary: Phil Lester, a shy, poetic hipster, is talented at a lot of things; social interaction not being one of them. But when his best friend Tom, a popular socialite, wins a competition for a Road Trip, Phil suddenly finds himself meeting a whole new group of friends, including the total stud Dan Howell; a flirt-machine in a leather jacket. But will Phil’s awkwardly interesting personality intrigue Dan, or completely freak him out?

Dear Diary
I’m tired.

Phil nibbled the tip of his pen in search for anything else to say. It was only in a situation like this, where he was sat upon his bed with his diary opened up in front of him, he realized just how uninteresting his life was. Nothing really ever happened, anymore. His body was just considered a sleeping, eating, working and songwriting machine, on a constant autopilot.

He stared at the open diary for a few more minutes until his eyes blurred, before shutting it and knocking it onto the floor beside his bed. He didn’t really feel like writing much else, anyway.

Hoo boy

Now that the essay is done and turned in I have more time on my hands.
Also, I have the day off tomorrow, and my birthday is coming up too, so there are hopefully lots of posts on the horizon!!
Yeah, no way in hell I’m gonna be social on Saturday. I’m staying home and having good old sugar cookies.

Sa gc namin ng barkada nagset ng plan/reminder si Engr, “Shee @ : Ang Huling Ubo at Gaganda Na” (ganyan talaga yung pangalan hahahahaha) since we’re planning to have it in a beach. 💔

Your Weekly Love Horoscope: Release and Move Forward

Intensified Emotions:

The New Moon in Gemini on Thursday will inspire brainy connections and lively chats. The accompanying Venus-Pluto square will intensify whatever emotion is coming up for you about love. Ask yourself what you need to release for a relationship to move forward. This weekend, Moon in Cancer encourages you to express your feelings, but Mars opposing Saturn can put a damper on physical pleasure. Best days for socializing: Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Here is your love horoscope!

Aries Love Horoscope:

The spotlight on your intellect around the time of the New Moon in Gemini is inspiring you to express your feelings and ideas. Your words will play an important role in your relationships, both personal and professional, so be mindful of what you say, especially on Thursday and Sunday. A cozy date at home can make love bloom on Saturday.

Taurus Love Horoscope:

You’ll have practical matters on your mind as the New Moon in Gemini ushers in a new money cycle. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a sexy tryst, especially on Tuesday or Wednesday, when your sensuality will be irresistible! On Thursday, your own anger or jealousy may take you by surprise unless you stay in touch with your feelings.

Gemini Love Horoscope:

The New Moon in your sign ushers in a new personal cycle and ramps up your pursuit of a dream. If that dream involves attracting someone special, getting clear about what you want in a partner will get you closer to realizing is. Toward the weekend, your feelings will flow easily on Saturday, but a fear of speaking up may shut you down on Friday and Sunday.

Cancer Love Horoscope:

Whether you need to apologize for a mistake you made or clarify a misunderstanding with someone you love, the New Moon in Gemini is all about closure. Taking care of unfinished business will be your first priority during the next four weeks or so. In the meantime, spending time with friends will bring joy (and perhaps romance!) on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Leo Love Horoscope:

The New Moon in Gemini is bringing a fresh round of opportunities to connect with people socially. Therefore, new contacts can become meaningful relationships, which means romance may be found through a friend or group activity. You likely won’t be in the mood to socialize on Friday and Sunday, but a serene ambiance can inspire romance on Saturday.

Virgo Love Horoscope:

Advancing your career will be your focus during the New Moon in Gemini. Still, it doesn’t have to be all work and no play, especially on Tuesday or Wednesday, when you may meet someone who relates to your spiritual or cultural background. Conflicting emotions may hinder a relationship from moving forward on Sunday. Therefore, getting clear about your feelings will reveal your best course of action.

Libra Love Horoscope:

Spirituality, culture and higher learning will be the focus of the New Moon in Gemini. Therefore, your lofty aspirations may attract a lover who is in tune with your spiritual beliefs or love of learning. Tuesday and Wednesday are favorable times for exploring a new area or activity to revitalize the passion in your relationship. If you’re single, you could meet a new paramour.

Scorpio Love Horoscope:

A new cycle of intimacy can be the gift of the New Moon in Gemini—if you’re willing to do the inner work first. Now is certainly the time to go inward to purge negative feelings and heal emotional wounds that keep you from opening your heart to love. You’re likely to experience an aha moment on Thursday that illuminates what you need to release.

Sagittarius Love Horoscope:

Are you ready for a fresh start in a close relationship? The New Moon in Gemini is bringing a new cycle that can inspire a feeling of togetherness with your mate. It could also stir up an issue you need to resolve to improve the connection. If you’re solo, you may meet someone compatible if you’re ready for a commitment. Stubbornness, however, can derail romance on Sunday.

Capricorn Love Horoscope:

The New Moon in Gemini is turning your attention toward your work, fitness regimen or volunteer project. This means actives associated with any of those areas will bring people into your life who are in tune with you. Sharing your playful side will ignite passion on Tuesday or Wednesday, your best days for romance. Love may shock you out of complacency on Thursday.

Aquarius Love Horoscope:

A fresh cycle in your love life and/or creative endeavors will be the gift of the New Moon in Gemini. Your openness will give romance a chance to find you or revitalize the connection in your current relationship. Now is also an ideal time to launch a project that excites you. Whether you create apps or photograph wildlife, developing your special skills will bring satisfaction.

Pisces Love Horoscope:

The New Moon in Gemini is all about home and family. You’ll be motivated to spruce up your living environment and share it with the people you love. Hosting a gathering of family or friends will bring out the best in you. That said, socializing this weekend will be iffy at best, although romance stands a chance of succeeding on Saturday.

Being in love is a life experience that everyone deserves. Whether you’re looking for your soulmate, or wondering how to keep the romantic fires burning in your relationship, a love psychic can help. They want to see you happy and a psychic love reading is all you need to find or keep the love that is meant for you.

“The Isis Papers Revisited: Dr. Frances Cress Welsing Interview” 3/9/2011

Rest in Power Dr. Frances Cress Welsing…

Dr. Frances Cress Welsing Dead at 80 – The scholar and author of The Isis Papers has died of reported complications from a stroke…

Renowned black psychiatrist Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, author of the seminal 1991 work, The Isis (Yssis) Papers: The Keys To The Colors (Third World Press) has died. She was 80 years old.

“Media Assassin” Harry Allen reports via Twitter that Dr. Welsing died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning from a stroke she suffered earlier in the week.

Dr. Welsing was born on March 18, 1935, in Chicago. Both her father and grandfather were medical doctors, and her mother was a teacher. She received her bachelor’s degree from Antioch College, and her M.D. from the Howard University College of Medicine. In 1974, Dr. Welsing became famous for her paper, the “Cress Theory of Color-Confrontation” which she published while an assistant professor of pediatrics at Howard’s medical school.

According to Welsing, the work caused such a stir that her tenure at the university was not renewed in 1975. Dr. Welsing then spent more than 20 years as a staff physician for the Department of Human Services in Washington, D.C., and was a specialist in both child and general psychiatry, gaining particular acclaim for her work with young people.

Additionally, she was a celebrated scholar who studied the origins of white supremacy from a psychological and biological perspective, and was a proponent of the “Melanin Theory,” which espouses black superiority due to a higher concentration of melanin in people of African descent.

As a psychiatrist, Welsing used Freudian symbolism to explain white supremacy, including the interpretation of guns, money, the cross and gold. She has faced some controversy regarding her stance on homosexuality, which she said was imposed on black men by whites who wanted to reduce the African population.

Dr. Welsing is perhaps best known for her 1991 book, The Isis Papers, which reportedly came about after 20 years of research and analysis from her private practice. It is considered required reading for those interested in the psychological origins and manifestations of white supremacy.

Many prominent Afro-centrists including Chuck D, Roland Martin and others took to social media on Saturday morning to express their grief under the hashtag #FrancesCressWelsing…

In loving memory of Leslie Feinberg, the revolutionary author of Stone Butch Blues and a pioneer for transgender liberation, racial and economic justice, gender-neutral and nonbinary language and representation, and a host of other issues of social justice. Feinberg died Saturday at age 65 from complications of multiple illnesses. Hir last words were: “Remember me as a revolutionary communist.” And that should tell you everything you need to know. Ze will be missed greatly. Rest in power.

On Brexit - Right to kill

Yeah. This is definitely going to happen now and there’s no way of return.

I ended up talking with somebody highly intelligent recently and sooner or later Brexit couldn’t be left out of the equation.
“Don’t you feel that Bexit is not what it really seems to be? When you go back in history you’d start to see patterns and this seems to be a result of another very precisely designed mechanism…the race hate seems to be very designed, don’t you think?” I asked and kept wondering, “I just wish I knew what they’re really trying to achieve with Brexit? What is the real reason? Is it the reality that in case of WW III were about to really happen, UK would be forced to fight for EU and it wants to fight on different side? Or wants to stay out of it like Swizerland has through history? What is the real reason here? Because no offence, the bullshit that they’re feeding the masses is just garbage! It’s all a big lie.”

He took a moment of silence and started to explain something that had never in a million years crossed my mind.

“Well, what I think is that…UK wants to get out of the control of EU due to other reasons. If you know, there’s a specific document, signed by most of the countries in the world, to protect human rights. There are couple of countries that haven’t sign this document - USA, Sudan…couple of others. What this document entitles is, in simpel words, government right to kill their own citizens.“

“Yeah, you heard right. There are countries out there, USA first one in the line, who can dispose their own citizens however much they like…legally, without getting into trouble. You’re following me?” he asked and sure, I was all ears. Completely oblivious, but there to say the least.

“100%…continue,” I nodded.

“Right. So. Years ago Theresa May wanted to reverse this document for UK…since UK, obviously part of the EU, had to sign it. EU court shoved a middle finger in her face and said “No way.” Couple of years later, she tried again and the EU court’s decisions was just the same. Now you’d ask “Why would UK be interested in having the right to kill their own people?”. Because they’re already doing it. Illegally.“

“Okay…right…how?” My curiosity flew out of the roof.

“Through social support. There are plenty of cases where the government would keep an eye on less fortunate people - disabled, unfit to work, unfit to pay taxes. Unfit to use and benefit from. What they’ve done is cutting off social benefits that is lethal for these people to survive. There are 100 cases monthly where people basically starve to death or have no money for their medication because the government has cut off their only source of income for no good reason…it’s illegal, a government crime and UK has actually taken in court because of it already in the past.”

“And of course, “taking back control” as they advertise it, putting through their own legislations…how hard could it be to reverse this when EU would not be involved anymore?“

“Exactly,” he agreed, “And this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

“This kind of information would never be "public” either because of government sensored “news”. You’d only find it when you’d want to. An avarage person has no care until their own ass is on line…“ I kept on going. It all made loads of sense now, too. There was loads and loads of dark corners what seemed to become to Brexit. I still couldn’t believe this all was really happening.

"I’m fairly afraid for this country,” he admitted and added, “Next generation will not have a free world to live in. Young people are those who will pay painfully for all this. UK is really taking the course of US and it’s a frightening thought to think of.”

We kept on talking for hours to come, but this had shook me the most. At least, I knew that in the future I had a choice to get the fuck out of here easily. Some others might not be that lucky.

So I tried writing some gross fluff today. I really meant to warm up and start filling in requests but Alfred and Arthur demanded to be written. Thanks @katryusha for being my beta!

Based off this headcanon by @usuk-omegaverse.

“He’s a boy!” Arthur beamed, his face aglow as he absentmindedly rubbed his swollen belly, “When I saw the ultrasound scan, I nearly fainted-”

More laughter.

Alfred clenched his jaw, forcing down the growl he could feel building up in his chest. Normally, the alpha would be all for socializing- but now was not the time.

Scratch that, it was the perfect time to socialize: a lazy Saturday morning with cotton candy clouds and drowsy orange sunlight. The two were out shopping for Arthur’s insistent cravings. Alfred had wanted it to remain just the two of them, relishing every second of their time together before the inevitable addition to their little family, but they’d managed to draw in quite the crowd upon their entrance to the store.

Omegas and all their damn fawning.

Harry Belafonte was honored with the the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, the honorary Oscar that recognizes social justice, on last Saturday, November 8, 2014.  Mr. Belafonte, seen here leaning against a statue of the Academy Award in March 1956, has said many times “I’m an activist who also became an actor,” and his acceptance speech reflected that statement. As the Hollywood Reporter and other outlets reported, Mr. Belafonte’s speech pointed out past Hollywood failures like the effect of D.W. Griffith’s 1915 film The Birth of a Nation, McCarthyism and the blacklist as well as “today’s cultural harvest yields a sweeter fruit,” a reference to films like Schindler’s List, Brokeback Mountain and 12 Years a Slave. Mr. Belafonte also invited Sidney Poitier to the stage to share the moment with him. He called Mr. Poitier, “a man who gave so much of his own life to redirect the ship of racial hatred in American culture.”
