social media shares

anonymous asked:

i think the time she's posting the videos is not a good time for promo. people pay more attention when something is announced at night. 8p.m

oh, i think it’s actually done quite smart and i think the choice of time is done very strategically. And i think plenty of people are paying attention - at least this time around!

1. early in the day lets all the news outlets in the usa think and post about it all day. you get more bang for your buck this way - it’s today’s news, not last nights. And it gives them time to contact snake analysts from harvard. hahah. And the more time they have to make articles, the more those articles zip around on facebook and twitter, the more people read them, the more people that hear about the post in that day. Because remember not everyone hears about it from her post itself - they hear from articles and social media sharing. So i think that is a definite goal.

2. early in the day is critical to hit all the time zones of her markets ..
 - 8am in California (11a in new york) is 4pm in the UK (before the end of the business day!) and 5pm in say, Sweden. - so all of europe is covered

It’s impossible to post something and hit east to west coast AND europe, but also asia markets and australia - so thats i think why 8am is chosen. the only people in the usa that are kinda left out are those in hawaii.

Imagine aliens reacting to human eating habits.

For instance, taste. Like, one day an alien notices the human crew member dumping something bright orange on their midday ration.

Alien: Does your supplement not have the right nutrients/?
Human: No, it just tastes bad.
Alien: ????
Human: Well, not precisely bad, but bland. It’s boring. So I thought I’d spice it up a bit. *waves bottle of bright orange substance*
Alien: You add items to your food that provide no necessary sustenance???
Human: Oh, just wait ‘til you hear about junk food.

‘Cause humans eat stuff that is not good just for the sensation. Like really spicy foods, chewing gum, and all these spices. And the aliens don’t get it. You put that in your body? Doesn’t that mess up your digestive system? What purpose does it serve?

Or human eating rituals. If you eat with one group of humans there are all of these utensils, some of which look extremely similar, but each with it’s own unique purpose. And if you don’t use the right one at the right time it’s a social faux pas. Then another group mostly uses their hands and lick their fingers. Does this not introduce pathogens? And you’ll see the same human doing both behaviors.

And there’s the whole concept of a meal as a social endeavor. Humans will have a meal with those they are close with as a sign of affection. Humans don’t even spend the entire meal eating, no they use it to talk. Business is done, friends catch up, families share news. All over a meal.

Aliens considering food a necessity not to be discussed in public. Yet here are these humans, who post pictures of their food to social media, share recipes, use food as a social catalyst, and as comfort. Hell, comfort food as a completely human idea that aliens don’t understand.

Anyway, humans are weird.

i know that people being on their phones has become like a symbol of apathy and uncaring but so many people i know use social media to share love. like yesterday i got to watch a wedding livestreamed to everyone who couldn’t make it. i’ve seen my friend slowly learn how to cope with being a teen mom because of a massive outpouring of “mumblr” support + tips. i’ve seen my friends come out as gay, learn to cook, discover the flaws in their feminism, work for social change, make good life choices, go to amazing places, develop passions, form educated opinions, learn to love themselves. i’ve seen people post the bravest recovery posts and shy political posts and everything in between.

and i don’t honestly care how edgy you think your art is. what you’re telling me when you draw grey people looking at a white screen is that you don’t care what happens to the other people in your life.

but i do. i care about the boy i’m in a long distance relationship with, but i also care about people i’ve never met. i’ve been following some people for three years and genuinely care about their experiences. i’m glad you’re still in touch with the people you love, even if you’re not paying attention directly to me! i get happy when you finally dump him! i’m sad when your cat gets sick! i give a shit.

i don’t think technology is taking empathy away from us. i think it’s changing it.

These are pics of the protests occurring in Venezuela right now. The people are going to the streets to fight the corruption of the government and in response the police has been sent to shoot at its people.

This is happening in ours streets, ours school and universities. This is the scream for help of a country that is dying of hunger and fear.

As Venezuela lives in a dictatorship the only way of communication we have is social media. If you could share our situation that would be a show of help and support that we desperately need

Sex Worker's Guide to protecting your Identity

Recently, a fellow sugar baby contacted me for help because one of her SD’s ended up being a jealous stalker; obtaining all of her personal info as blackmail. This spurred me to write out this condensed guide to prevent situations like that one or similar ones from happening again.

1) ALWAYS use a fake name, one that’s not similar to your actual name.

2) DON’T carry any forms of ID’s/cards/anything with your name on it when you see a client, ever. Buy a fake license ID with another name so you can still have an ID to show if you get carded to drink when you’re with a sugar daddy. It is illegal to carry certain states fake ID’s, so be careful of which you buy and don’t bring it for an escorting client.

3) NEVER park your car where they can see it or in an area where you need their remote or key access to leave the garage.

4) USE DIFFERENT PICTURES than the ones you use on your personal social media. It takes one search on Google reverse image search to blow open your entire front.

5) Have a fake birthday for your SW persona and remember the astrology sign it comes with.

6) Turn off ALL location services and apps, 10 minutes prior to meeting. I’ve been reading some girls have been outted due to certain social media apps now sharing “who’s around you” features.

7) Don’t give out what school or company you work for. Always lie, and tweak it. The point is to throw off their scent so they have a bunch of small lies they can’t piece together.

8) If possible, use a nickname or an ambiguous name on your own personal social media.

9) DO NOT SEND/SELL ANY PHOTOS OR VIDEOS WITH YOUR FACE IN IT. The only facial ones they should be able to access are the ones online that you can easily claim were stolen.

10) USE A WORK NUMBER. Your personal number is attached to a million and one things.

11) Cash is your best friend.

List of information about yourself to fib:
Birthdate
School
Company you work for
Hometown
Schools you have attended in the past
Name
Year of graduation
Any information pertaining family members

IMPORTANT: Stalkers have an affinity for remembering what seems like trivial (but important) details to piece together your identity later.

I.M IN BEAUTIFUL (ACOUSTIC VER.) M COUNTDOWN STAGE (170511).

This photo has been removed.

I realized that I was going against Koogi’s wishes by posting this, and in the process providing more food for the antis. I would advise anyone else who saved or reblogged this picture [of Koogi at the Anime Expo] to delete it from their blogs and other social media accounts and not share it any further.

I was so overcome by finally getting to see her that I didn’t think twice about sharing it (at the time not knowing about her sensitivity on her photos being shared on the internet.

My sincere apologies.

Please do not make the same mistake as me and respect Koogi’s wishes.

Thanks,

Social Media Responds to Trump's Claim That Female Staff Should ‘Dress Like Women’
In response to a report that President Donald Trump likes his female employees to “dress like women,” the Internet is responding in kind by showing the politician just what women actually do wear to work.

Taking to social media, users shared that Trump’s perception of workwear — the dresses-and-skirts only policy that female Trump employees told veteran political reporter Mike Allen that they felt pressured to wear while working for Trump on the campaign trail — is far from the reality.

The collective social media clapback has reached a fever pitch with the hashtag #DressLikeAWoman to provide some visual aids to the new president as to what this term really means to so many women.

Happy Birthday @ryuusadesu!

Continuing what you mentioned before…
Once Chat Noir arrived to wish Marinette a happy birthday, it was clear that having a friend who is the daughter of bakers has its benefits. Although he would definitely want to visit her for other reasons too.
