It had been a long day, and Sarah was ready to just wind down for a few hours. There would be plenty of time to worry about that rapidly growing pile of late math homework. But she had more important things on her mind, like how since last night, she had gained three followers on Tumblr. Two science blogs and a depression(?) blog: sexydarwin, sciencelaborador, and lost-train-of-thought.

Pounding Feet, Pounding Hearts: A Soccercop College AU (Chapter 1)

[Based off of this post ]

Beth’s feet pounded the pavement in perfectly rhythmic timing. Left right left right left right left right. Even bend of her knee, every flex of her thigh, every breath in her lungs – she felt it all. The brisk wind on her face, the sweat on her brow, the pounding of her fresh and alive and thriving heart. Every instant and moment and sensation and touch and taste and emotion, Beth felt everything. Beth felt everything and Beth felt alive and Beth felt ok.

BETH HELPING ALISON WITH THE HORSES AND SUDDENLY SHE STARTS GIGGLING AND ALISONS LIKE “???????” AND BETH GRABS A FISTFUL OF HAY AND STICKS IT IN THE WAISTBAND OF HER JEANS AND JUST

“THIS JOB’S NOT FOR EVERYONE, BUT HAY… IT’S IN MY JEANS”

AND ALISON JUST FUCKIN WALKS OUT

such a smiling sweetheart;

soccercop AU. trapped in a bank during a robbery.

/

Alison Hendrix sits on a couch at the edge of the room, hands folded neatly in her lap and legs crossed. People mill quietly around her, going on with their business as she waits, her purse clutched in her hands and bangs perched nicely on her forehead. She doesn’t quite mean to make eye contact with the woman standing at the counter. The woman smiles warmly before turning back to the bank teller, her trenchcoat bunching up when she reaches into her pocket. Alison sees a glimpse of something that gives her pause, a holster with something that looks suspiciously like a gun inside.

Alison doesn’t dwell on it, not when she sees the badge a moment later. She’s never worried about authority figures.

Alison stands, goes over to a counter to start writing a deposit check when -

“Oi! Everybody stop what you’re doing and get down on the fuckin’ floor!”

Pounding Feet, Pounding Hearts: A Soccercop College AU (Chapter 9)

[Chapter 1][Chapter 2][Chapter 3][Chapter 4][Chapter 5][Chapter 6]

[Chapter 7] [Chapter 8]

Beth knew awkward silences all too well. She knew them from bad break-ups, from bad days, from bad feelings. She’d had her fair share of awkward silences with friends, teachers, boyfriends and most often herself. She knew all too well the awkward and painful silence of being alone with oneself and she knew that was often the most painful silence of all. There in that hallway though, Beth found a new most painful silence. Alison’s hands had not moved off her face, and her gaze was downcast, her chest heaving with shallow, shaky breaths.

“Oh god,” Beth heard Alison whisper softly, her voice cutting through the silence.

the life and times of the media and the police (i can handle this)

Title: the life and times of the media and the police (i can handle this)

Pairing: Soccercop

Word Count: 6,404

Summar: Cop vs Pushy Reporter AU (based off of this post). Detective Beth Childs is the lead on a new string of homicides, but can she complete her investigation without the meddling of lead reporter Alison Hendrix?

[for maria tinytmas, who is working so hard on her exams and deserves some soccercop in her life]

Art throws the morning newspaper on her desk the next day, the words LEAD DETECTIVE KEEPING LEAD SECRETS? staring her in the face.

“I told you I should have handled it.”

She throws the newspaper in the trash and rubs at her temples, “Shut up, dipshit. Just - shut up.”

It’s just one overbearing reporter; Beth can handle that.

(Sometimes it’s easier to repeat a mantra over and over until it basically becomes the truth.

Beth repeats this every time they get a new high-profile case.)
