so trustworthy

Let’s analyze Byakugan’s powers a bit more. I think it is more than obvious to say that the Byakugan surpasses the Sharingan in all forms of insight.

Some synonyms for “Penetrate/Perceive”:

understand, comprehend, apprehend, insight, discern, make sense of, interpret, work out, unravel, decipher,  figure out.

Now look at how Kakashi says that the Byakugan 100% surpasses the Sharingan in this regard COMPLETELY. In other words, in every aspect of penetrative perception, the Byakugan reins superior over the Sharingan. And considering this is a man who has had 3T Sharingan for over 2 decades, and has used them to fight countless enemies and battle, it’s safe to say his words are more than trustworthy.

So let’s look at some of the Sharingan’s penetrative perception feats and abilities. Because of course, any feats from the Sharingan relating to insight will automatically apply to the Byakugan due to what Kakasi said.

First off, people need to understand that Sharingan’s copy ability isn’t merely just some sort of power that automatically grants the user the ability to use the technique.

Rather, it is the keen perception of the Sharingan and it’s ability to analyze and discern techniques that allows the user to learn how a technique is used, such as looking at what hand signs are being used. This is the reason someone like Sasuke still needed training for Chidori and Lee’s speed. Yes, his eyes would allow him to learn how the Chidori and Lee’s taijutsu maneuvers work, but as we saw, he still needed plenty of training to actually learn how to use them. With all this said, does this mean the Byakugan can copy techniques like the Sharingan?

No, since the Sharingan’s ability to understand and it’s ability to copy are different properities. As such, Byakugan would be unable to copy techniques, but it would still be able to figure out how a technique works more easily than a Sharingan.

Next, seeing through Genjutsu.

Sasuke states the Sharingan penetrates and see the reality behind any illusion ei Genjutsu. This alone is proof that the Byakugan, which surpasses the Sharingan in this regard, would easily be able to see through Genjutsu to a greater degree than even the 3T Sharingan. Of course, the scan above also notes that the Sharingan’s penetrative powers allow it to also see the “reality behind spells” as well. Of course, this is very likely referring to ninjutsu and the Sharingan’s ability to discern how the opponent’s technique works and use it for themselves, so this would also apply to the Byakugan as well.

Lastly, the ability to foresee attacks and keep up with an opponent’s movements. It was already stated that the Byakugan can anticipate and foresee how an enemy will move before they move.

Now, how does the Sharingan’s ability to foresee movements work?

As you can see, upon unlocking 3T Sharingan, Sasuke states “With Chakra Sight like this” which makes it abundantly clear that Sharingan’s ability to foresee attacks is based on how it can see Chakra flow. And I don’t think anyone will deny Byakugan’s ability in seeing Chakra in all manners far surpasses the Sharingan’s. This is further cemented when Karin was noted to be able to foresee attacks, and Karin too is capable of reading Chakra flow, with her sensing being superior to even the Byakugan.

Some people may say that Sharingan actually creates images while Byakugan isn’t known to do this, but this doesn’t seem to be the case.

Note that Sasuke says his “mind’s eye”, which is just a fancy way of saying imagining images in one’s head. This basically means these images Sasuke is supposedly seeing are nothing more than a way for Kishimoto to show how foreseeing abilities works, not that the Sharingan LITERALLY allows the user to see images of the user prematurely.

This is also proven by the many, many times Sharingan user’s have failed to avoid, dodge, or counter attacks. Some examples can be found in Sasuke VS Deidara, Kakashi VS Pain, Sasuke VS Darui/Ay, Sasuke VS Kinshiki, Itachi VS Kabuto, Kakashi VS Zabuza, Naruto VS Obito.

If Kakashi can see images of his opponent moving before the opponent actually moves, this wouldn’t have happened, since he would have foreseen the image of Pain ducking down.

Same applies here. If Sharingan truly foresaw actual images of the opponent’s movements, this wouldn’t happen.

You get the idea.

Even Kinshiki, without his Byakugan activated, managed to bypass this. Again, if Sasuke can see literal images, he would have foreseen Kinshiki stepping backwards and countered, and Sasuke even has his sword blocked by him.

Point is, neither Sharingan or Byakugan create images of the opponent’s future movements. Even Zabuza confirms that the Sharingan can’t see the future.

So how does it work? They use their insight and/or Chakra-sight to foresee/predict movements, and with the Byakugan being superior in both categories than the Sharingan, Byakugan naturally has better foreseeing powers. And you have to factor in that Sasuke himself with the jump form 2T to 3T went from being unable to even SEE KN0 Naruto to being able to fight on par with KN1, so that alone should explain how great the Byakugan’s foreseeing abilities are.

One-paragraph appreciation for the introvert types

ISTJs:  I think it’s great that there are so many of you, because ISTJs drive the world, get stuff done, and always seem to know what’s going on. You’re so incredibly reliable and trustworthy and we need people like that. Without your devotion and logical thinking, the world would be nowhere.

ISFJs: You guys are the glue that holds society together. I love how much you care about everyone and how much effort you put in to make sure everyone is okay. Seriously, you deserve more credit for being such great people, and you have both the drive and natural kindness to help a lot of people.

INFJs: Not only do you have other peoples’ best interests in mind, you guys dream big and have bold ideals. You may not think they’ll happen, but because you’re all so gutsy and organized (unlike me) I feel like you can and will accomplish your goals. I wish there were more of you, because you’re brilliant.

INTJs: You nerds are going to change the world. Seriously, you’re all intelligent, knowledgeable, determined and generally great at stuff, and you’re unbound by expectations. You are creators, challengers, improvers, and while you are few, you can have massive effects on the world on your own.

ISTPs: I know none of you are that dependent on the approval of others, but for what it’s worth: you are great. Your cleverness, pragmatism and bravery mean that you can accomplish awesome things that others could only dream of, and your calmness under pressure is something I strive for.

ISFPs: I feel like the world would be so much more peaceful if people adopted your mindset. It’s incredible how well you guys can see the beauty in others and the world around you. Flexible, talented people like you have so much potential, and since you’re all so kind and charming it’s great to be around you.

INFPs: You guys are most interested in deep thoughts and long-term goals and don’t care about shallow things. And that’s a wonderful way to be. I’m so glad that there are people like you: deep thinkers who don’t forget to look after others, altruists who still seek to define themselves. You fit so many great qualities into one incredible personality.

INTPs: My fellow oddities, you are awesome. You have whole worlds inside your heads, and you tend to know the right answers and ask the right questions. Your curiosity and imagination combined are a force to be reckoned with, and you are definitely some of the smartest people in the world.

  • Keith: That was awesome. My mom looks really young there, doesn't she?
  • Hunk: Dude, what was that? What happened right there?
  • Keith: Huh?
  • Hunk: What was the family on the stairs? What was that?
  • Keith: That was probably the next family coming in to get there presents.
  • Hunk: What are you talking about? What was happening there?!
  • Keith: That was the Christmas tradition....Where you go house to house collecting your presents and when the next family comes, you would run.
  • Hunk:
  • Hunk: I'm not aware of this tradition, Keith. In fact, I think you were just stealing from that home....
  • Keith: What? No! I was taking their presents but they were taking MINE. Yeah, that's why there were never any presents at my house when I got back. The neighbors took them. You're telling me on Christmas Day you wouldn't go from house to house collecting presents?
  • Hunk: NO! NO ONE DOES THAT!
  • Keith: But my mom said that was the tradition!
  • Hunk: And your mom is a thief and a murderer who eats people, so she's not exactly trustworthy.....
  • what she says: i'm fine.
  • what she means: ok so how did Brian Jones's death become so wrongfully depicted in the media? It's reported that he died under the influence of drink and drugs and became "just another sad rockstar that died drugged and drunk" but first of all the postmortem found little to no evidence of drugs in his system and his blood alcohol level represented the equivalent of just three and a half pints of beer, and people that knew him, Keith Richards included, noted that it was indeed very strange that he drowned in such a short period of time in his own swimming pool while broadly sober, because Brian was a very strong swimmer and very acrobatic in water. Anna Wohlin, his girlfriend of three months and a key witness, maintains that Brian had stopped taking drugs (except for sleeping pills, which he did NOT abuse) when they met in April of '69 and also maintains that Brian was NOT sad, devastated or felt any sort of betrayal against the Stones members for sacking him, he was actually quite relieved (also verified by Keith Richards) and that he and Anna actually had planned to go to the Hyde Park gig so Brian could publicly show he had no hard feelings about leaving the Rolling Stones. He had wanted to get out of the band for some time and wanted to get together a new band, Bill Wyman remembers that Brian was phoning people up about creating a new band before he died and that he called Bill being very excited about it. Anyway, back to what i was saying earlier. Also present that night was Frank Thorogood, a minder aggravated after being fired by Brian on the day of his death because he wasn't doing the building work on Brian's house properly. Brian had expressed guilt over having fired him to Anna and worried he had sounded too harsh on Frank so he invited him back for dinner that night (steak and kidney pie). They later took a midnight swim in which Frank ultimately were left alone with Brian after Anna went inside to take a phone call. And ok so Brian was no angel and used to tease Frank calling him "old man" and while in the swimming pool that night he had teased Frank a little and grabbed his ankles dragging him down. Anna says that she left them to answer a call (that turned out to be from a friend of hers in London) and that Brian was in good shape and spirit when she went inside, and that she believes she was inside for a maximum of 10-15 minutes. Also present was Frank's friend (and rumored lover) Janet Lawson that went inside to find Brian's asthma inhalator that he asked her to get. She looked around the house for it and eventually went to the kitchen where she was met by Frank, she described him shaking to the point he hardly being able to light his cigarette and she sensed something was wrong and rushed out to the pool where she saw Brian laying still at the bottom face down. She (unable to swim) started to shout at Frank to help her but he ignored her cries for help and Anna who was upstairs heard Janet scream "something has happened with Brian" and ran down the stairs where she saw Frank standing there "shaking like a leaf" trying to light his cigarette, she then continued running out, jumping in the pool retrieving him from the bottom and trying to get Brian up on the pool edge, which she wasn't strong enough to do, so she screamed at Frank to help her, in which she said in a (swedish) radio documentary in 2008; "I screamed at Frank to come help me, and then after a while he came dawdling, he didn't seem very interested to come and help me.". She and Janet tried to massage Brian's heart and do CPR and Anna didn't want to believe that he was dead so she just kept on trying but when the ambulance showed up he was declared dead. Anna has always maintained that she didn't think Frank killed him intentionally and that it was horseplay in the pool that went wrong. Terribly wrong. This is also supported by Thorogood’s alleged death bed confession to Tom Keylock, the Rolling Stones driver, in 1993. Tom Keylock repeated his friends confession on Crimewatch in 1994 and told Classic Rock magazine; "In 1993 I went to see Frank in hospital and he said: 'It was me that done Brian.' He was very tired. I said: 'I'll come back tomorrow, and [you can] tell me more.' But he died during the night. I never found out the specifics." AND THEN MY FRIENDS at the inquiry both Janet Lawson and Anna Wohlin (separately at different times and occasions) have claimed that the inquiries were under unfair conditions and Janet Lawson broke her 40 year silence and said in sworn testimony to investigative journalist Scott Jones (in which all information in this post from Janet is taken from), shortly before she died of cancer in 2008, about the inquiry; "A pack of lies, the policeman suggested most of what I said. It was a load of rubbish." The inquiries were held at 3-4 am., she was nervous, confused, and mentally and physically exhausted and were told that she were able to give another statement later on when she was in better shape, which was untrue and she never got to give another statement, so she eventually just said "yes" to the suggestions of the police. PC Albert Evans, who was the first officer on the scene, sensed something was wrong upon arriving and later said about Frank; "There was nothing at the time to connect Thorogood with any more. Just feelings." Evans was NOT asked to attend the inquest. A Sussex officer who can't be named but who knows the case very well made claims about how Anna's statement had been produced and said "Wohlin had been given sedatives by the doctor and had to be actually woken up during the interview. The WDC who wrote that statement was told what to write by Bob Marshall (the chief investigation officer). Bob Marshall was controlling it, the evidence that was written down. He was pushing the buttons." Anna herself has also said that she was under sedation and shock. THE WHOLE HANDLING OF THE CASE IS JUST SO STRANGE AND FLAWED.
  • And after the inquiries Anna was given 5 minutes by the Rolling Stones management to gather some stuff from her and Brian's home so they could send her home on a plane back to Sweden, as she said, "I was just a nuisance, I was just a problem. They had to think about the Stones upcoming U.S. tour and they didn't know what I was capable of." She managed to grab some of Brian's clothes and a couple of his hats and then had nothing else but that and the clothes she was wearing and was quickly smuggled out of the house. She has still kept his clothes after all these years, they hang in her closet. It's the only things she has left of Brian, when she a couple of weeks later went back to England and Cotchford Farm to retrieve her and Brian's possessions everything was cleared and gone. She also keeps a portrait of Brian on her windowsill. After returning home in '69 she also discovered that she was pregnant with Brian's child. But had a miscarriage. She has blamed herself for his death, "No.. I should have never gone inside to answer the phone. You know, when it was me swimming in the pool Brian would always make sure to go outside to check on me every 10 minutes to see that I was ok. I should have stayed. It's just a fact, if I had not gone inside, I would have been there and around him, and it would never have happened. I will always blame myself for it." She couldn't even attend Brian's funeral, something she deeply regrets today.
  • How Brian Jones's death has been portrayed in media is so flawed and wrong and it's been 46 years, HE DID NOT DIE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND DRUGS AND I DEMAND JUSTICE FOR BRIAN, HE DESERVES IT. (and if anyone would like me to translate the whole radio documentary with Anna Wohlin let me know)

wannabanauthor  asked:

Hi there! I love your blog! I've seen you mention a few TV shows and movies for research, and I was wondering what your opinion is on the show Leverage and it's accuracy for social engineering in potentially violent situations. I remember one character saying that "Thieves look for entrances, but grifters create them." They'll often use approaches like this to avoid violence.

If the question is: can you use social engineering in order to defuse or avoid violent situations? The answer is yes.

Grifters are conmen, and like spies, they don’t want to fight unless it is absolutely necessary. Whether they can fight or know how isn’t really the point: combat makes messes, big messes, and draws the kind of attention they don’t want/can’t afford.

As for the line, “thieves look for entrances, but grifters create them” the point of it is that grifters focus on people as the exploitative aspect to get what they want. After all, it doesn’t matter how good your security system is if your infiltrator is expected to be there. When someone opens the door for them, they didn’t have to break in.

It is worth pointing out though, being able to stop, defuse, avoid, or redirect violence via social engineering (especially when the character is the target) is very difficult and requires someone who excels at rapidly changing their story/manipulating under life or death pressure while also maintaining their consistency/re-establishing their innocence/regaining their target’s trust.

That’s masterclass social engineering. The average person, even the average grifter can’t do it. When we see Nate Ford, Sophie Devereaux, or Michael Westen on Burn Notice socially engineer their way out of potentially explosive and violent scenarios, we’re supposed to understand this level of manipulation is very difficult. You need a solid ability to read people, predict their behavior patterns, understand how to shift your role so you suddenly seem trustworthy, confuse them, and then redirect their anger somewhere away from you.

You can see another variant of this kind of social engineering on display in The Negotiator. Samuel L. Jackson’s character is a hostage negotiator. Deliberately maneuvering a man who’s taken a child captive around his apartment so he can be taken out. You can see him joking with the target, gaining his trust, distracting him, and guiding him off topic until he’s in a position to be neutralized.

The Grifter is not a fighter, they are a talker and their trick is getting people to move however they want. A skilled grifter can slip in, turn the best of friends against each other, and walk away without a care. Grifters don’t punch. They trick other people into doing the punching for them. When sitting down to write a Grifter, remember: their first instinct is getting others to act in their place, to create the openings they need, and be their fall guy.

On the whole, I’ve liked Leverage ever since the episode where Eliot pointed out that guns are ranged weapons, and the most common mistake people make is giving up the distance advantage by getting in too close. However, I’ve only watched the first season. I liked what I saw, it’s an enjoyable caper show in a similar vein to The Equalizer, Person of Interest, or Ocean’s Eleven. Not quite in there with the original Law & Order when it comes to accuracy (in this case for cops) but certainly better than White Collar, which uses similar techniques (though never, ever pay attention to White Collar’s usage of the FBI… ever). The X-Files, meanwhile, fudges a bit but it’s pretty good when you’re wanting to get a grasp of the FBI’s culture and what happens to someone who doesn’t come from a military/law enforcement background.

Of course, the patient zero for these types of shows is the original Mission: Impossible. The television show, not the Tom Cruise movies. Mission: Impossible is all about flipping people and manipulating them into positions to do what you want. The A-Team is its slightly more pulpy counterpart, but its a similar (though far less subtle) deal.

On the whole, Leverage tends to explain itself better, which is helpful when you’re trying to learn or take techniques from a television show rather than just absorb.

The reason why I often suggest Burn Notice and Spy Game is not necessarily just because they’re good, but also because they teach. The narrator on Burn Notice, especially in the first season will offer up a lot of helpful/beginner tradecraft for a variety of situations. This, ultimately, will help you more for taking pieces and creating your own characters than a show that’s trying for smoke and mirrors like White Collar. The same situation is there with Spy Game, where Robert Redford’s character is teaching Brad Pitt’s on how to be a spy. Ultimately, more helpful in the long run than just watching The Recruit. The Michael Mann films like Heat and Collateral are exceptionally good for learning tradecraft, but you have to know that’s what you’re watching/looking for. You’ll learn more by watching them together, rather than separately. The Borne Identity novels are also very good at showing the tradecraft, while the Le Carre ones tend to be a little more hit and miss.

When you’re new, you want sources that are free with their information. Who are good at getting you to think, to take what you’re seeing and apply it to new settings. You may not ever figure out how to build a car bomb, but learning about how the thought process of a spy, criminal, or conman works will serve you better for your writing than a hundred other movies that only show.

After you’ve drawn back the curtain then you can turn to those other shows, novels, and narratives with new eyes. Once you see what they’re doing, how they’re doing it, and why when they don’t explain you’ll get more out of those other sources than you did before.

When you’re watching a well put together show like Leverage, start questioning character motivations. Not just whether the social engineering there works, but why the characters are choosing to go that route or which routes they prefer. Leverage gives you five characters with different specialties, four thieves and the guy who made a career catching them. They all think in different ways and have different approaches when it comes to problem solving. Leverage offers up a heist per episode, so you have lots of opportunities to see the characters in action. Evaluate their problem solving methods and you’ll come away with more than just questioning whether or not it works.

How and Why.

Then, go find a good video on YouTube where a professional magician explains pickpocketing. It’s the art of misdirection.

Once you understand basic theoretical underpinnings (whether or not you could ever actually pull the real thing off) then you can apply it to many different situations in a fictional context.

When it comes back to applying this to the combat arts, learning to see the big picture is the first major difference between trained and untrained. The untrained only copy surface level, singular techniques, while trained delves deeper to understand how these techniques work together.

My advice for when you’re wanting to pick and choose television shows for accuracy is to check who their consultants are/were, and what experts in the show’s chosen field say about it. That doesn’t always guarantee accuracy, but it will help you flip through the rave reviews.

If you want to watch more fun shows with Timothy Hutton or just like detective shows, I recommend Nero Wolfe.

A few years ago I was at an anime con with my then 9 year old daughter. Attack on Titan had just finished it’s US broadcast and was at the height of it’s popularity. We were sitting in a panel room with Josh Grelle, the voice actor of Armin Arlert and Lauren Landa (Annie). They were entertaining questions from the audience.

I don’t know how many of you go to cons, but the questions at these events tend to be repetitive. People ask far too many about shipping. They ask about life as a voice actor, they ask the actors their favorite, hardest, easiest moments and so on. Trust me when I say voice actors are patient people.

About 30 minutes in, my daughter’s hand shot up and Josh called on her. She walked to the microphone and asked, “Do you think Armin will ever see the ocean?”

Josh, Lauren and the entire room let out a collective awwwwww and a few people actually got emotional–Josh included. He finally said, “I sure hope so. If I have one wish for this story it’s that Armin gets to see the ocean.”

I don’t share a lot of personal pictures, but I’ll make an exception here since meeting Josh was the greatest day of her life.

My daughter’s anime tastes have long since moved on to swimmers and setters, spikers and bikers, and those adorable ice skating boys, but Armin Arlert is still Her Guy. And while she doesn’t read the manga, she follows Armin-centric instagram accounts and each month asks me for details of his life. So yesterday when she came home from school, I was excited and happy to show her the panels of Armin happily splashing in the ocean. She’s waited basically a quarter of her life for this moment.

So please believe me when I say I get it. I am  happy for everyone who loves Armin and the rest of the 104th. It was a great moment for you and I felt joy seeing your joy (especially yours @daydream24-7 and @guyinlovewitheremika ).

That said, I also completely understand the rage and disappointment in this chapter. I personally am struggling myself. This was a terrible chapter for anyone who loved Erwin, Ymir, or the Warriors. The time skip essentially rendered all of our pain as unimportant and inconsequential. We’re having to accept that everything we wanted and needed regarding our favorite characters isn’t going to happen.

We’re never going to see Nile, Pixis or, ya know, Levi’s reaction to Erwin’s death. Any conflicted feelings over eating Bert are probably long since resolved. We won’t get Reiner’s reaction. Ymir is probably dead. We’re expected to accept that Historia read her letter and got on with her life. And Annie–who dat?

It’s not just the characters I’m mourning, I have concerns about the story. In two pages the titan threat that hung over us is just gone. And not by some cool  awesome use of the coordinate, but by a titan guillotine that slowly picked them off one by one. It feels cold and anti-climactic.

I have so many questions. What about the structure of the military? Is there still a Survey Corps? What have they been doing for a year? Aren’t they worried about Zeke and Reiner? I’m sorry but you do not put a time skip in the middle of a battle. You do not leave that many threads hanging. I wanted and expected so much more.

And now people are resettling Wall Maria. What about all those bodies? Not just Erwin’s, but there are a hundred dead SC members rotting in the sun. I used to accept that there was no time to mourn the dead, but they’ve obviously had nine months of relative peace. I hope a little of that went into consideration for the fallen but we’ll never know.

While the day at the beach was nice, I’m struggling with the point of it. Was it simply to prove that Grisha’s journals were trustworthy? If so, wouldn’t being surrounded by 50 meter walls that are stuffed with a colossal titan filling be enough to prove that?

Clearly I’m still processing all of this. I keep telling myself to be patient and give it more time, but how much more time do I allow? My biggest concern is if Isayama can still pull off a satisfying story, or is this an indication that he’s lost interest and is trying to wrap things up as quickly as possible. I’m looking forward to reading the meta of the people who I know are more objective than I am. I’m interested in hearing their thoughts. Maybe they’ll help soothe mine.

Anyway, thank you for listening. I just needed to get this out.

Imagine being Professor Snape's apprentice and him protecting you from Professor Umbridge

(I just got too inspire from a hc that was sent in XD hope i did it justice and you all like it :D Gif not mine/found it on google/credit to the original owner.)

You were called into Umbridge’s office again this time this week and this time it seemed she wasn’t going to let you off so easily.

The woman was accusing you of using magic to distract the others while in her class and you couldn’t believe it. Clearly, someone was setting you up and you just didn’t have any of it.

You started to argue with her and after opening your mouth to say one thing against her methods, your realized how utterly screwed you were. The old hag silenced with a glare and sudden smile.

1000 lines it was for you and 1000 lines you wrote. The marks in your hand from her quill had engraved into you so much, you knew they were going to last for a terribly long while.

As she released you, you cursed the wretched woman under your breath and made sure to hide your embarrassing punishment under your sleeves.

Your friends who waited for you by the stairs, quickly went to join you. They asked you countless of questions and you were quick to dismiss them. You asked for the hour and soon enough, realized how late you were to your next lesson.

Although, classes were over for the day, you still had your private potion lessons with professor Snape to attend to. Quickly, dismissing them away, you ran down the stairs and just hoped he was still there waiting.

~~~~
For as long as you could remember, you always had a love for potion making and had from the start of your years at Hogwarts, you begged him to let you learn more and let you help him.
After being so persistent about it, your work finally payed off and he had offered you the apprenticeship you wanted so badly. Your tasks were rather simple, it included brewing some potion, putting ingredients away in new jars, cleaning up the potion room and in exchange professor Snape would give you extra insight in the world of potion making.
At first, it was pretty awkward, him being cold and a little too blunt. He would have a habit of pointing out all your wrongdoings and would rather barge in to handle things himself rather than explain to you carefully.
Surely, you ended up adapting to him and learned to read from his expressions and sighs to correct yourself beforehand, and oddly enough you grew to be right with each and every one of them. Slowly, he became less stuck up with you, nodding in praise and even letting you know you did great and so on.
Your relationship with him became less strained and even in his own classroom, as eventually you were regarded as the only one he had absolutely nothing to say against.
With you being so hardworking and trustworthy, he got used to your frequent company and couldn’t deny he was somewhat attached to you.
~~~~

Noticing the first few minutes pass, he bit his lip in slight annoyance but kept his calm, trying his best to not get too worked up by your sudden and slight tardiness. He moved himself to go work on some stuff beforehand and tried to forget about the time for the little while.

However, soon enough, alone and bored, the few minutes started to become a good hour or so and he was starting to get worried rather than grow angry from the situation.

It was truly strange of you to not be on time, he knew something was keeping you up at that point, certainly he couldn’t ever imagine you missing out on a lesson on purpose, even when you’d be more than sick you’d show your head up and make him have to practically walk you back to your room to keep you from staying.

Certainly something was up and he knew he had to figure it out. Getting up from his seat, he moved towards the door as calmly as he could, collecting his thoughts on a clear and reasonable explanation for this.

As he opened the door, he felt his heart jump in and his eyes widened in surprise to see you so sudden. Out of breath, you pushed him out of the way and quickly got in, preparing yourself to start brewing some potions.

“I’m so sorry, Professor! I-It wasn’t my intention to keep you waiting for so long! I just forgot about today…”

Looking at you back, he frowned at your last words. “Forgot”, impossible he thought, if anything you had every set out date in your notebook and you would even write it out on your hand in the morning just to be sure.

He knew something was off with you, you weren’t yourself. You seemed too distraught and nervous and he had yet to open his mouth.

Trailing his gaze down, he noticed how you kept avoiding showing off your hands as you’d take out the needed ingredients and how you kept them closer to yourself more than usually.

Following your movements, he finally caught a glimpse of something new with you. It was too weird of a sight to see you with gloves all of a sudden and he knew for sure something was up. He approached closer to you, being careful with his steps to not just scare you away and stealthily reached to your shoulder.

Gripping onto you, he made you turn around to finally face him. His eyes went down to your hands and quickly you tried to hide them behind your back. Growling, he tried to force your arm out.

“Y/N…I don’t think you forgot about today…But rather something was keeping you…”, eyeing up from your nervous gaze to your hands.

Reaching down to your wrists, he pulled your hand up, forcing you to look and explain yourself.

“You really expected me to believe that you had forgotten about today…”

You shied your gaze away from that remark and were truly cornered. You didn’t knew what to say properly, feeling like letting him know of what happened would disappoint him a little too much.

From that simple look, he knew you wouldn’t say anything more and he finally had his opportunity. “Take it off…”

“Professor I-”

“Take. It. Off. Y/N…I am not repeating myself…”

With his authoritative gaze upon you from higher up, you sighed in defeat. Doing just as he asked, you slid your glove off the hand he was holding you from, exposing to him your newly fresh scars from your punishment.

You could feel his grip tightening the instant he caught sight of the little red marks. Darkness was filling his eyes and you swore you felt anger coming from the way his grip shook. He knew exactly whose work it was and just couldn’t believe she even dared to lay a hand on you.

There was no way he was ever going to believe you ever did anything wrong, even to her. Gritting his teeth, he pulled your hand closer and traced his fingers along the scars. Feeling and seeing how deep they were, he was fuming at the thought of yourself writing lines and lines, going through such punishment for something you surely hadn’t done.

“Why…”, he asked, wanting to know how to confront the old woman.

~~~
Staying silent for a while, you took a deep breath. From the way he held you, his tone and his gaze you knew you could trust him enough with the truth. As you explained the misunderstanding there was between you and her, he slowly let go of your wrist.
Turning away from you, he made a quick move towards the door, slamming it open as he walked out. Surprised, you jumped and yelped at the sudden outburst.
Registering what had just happened, you realized his intentions and quickly rushed out yourself.
From it had seemed, he was already quite far ahead. He walked as fast as he could, and from his stance and the way he’d stomp, it was clear to everyone who happened to be near by that he was in a hurry to confront someone.
They all made way for him, not saying a word and avoiding his stern gaze. Even the stairs didn’t dare to change as he climbed them up.
You tried your best to catch up to him, and ended up having to run after just to catch a glimpse of him. Finally, you caught sight of him walking towards Professor Umbridge’s office and from the down the hall you tried to beg him to come back.
However, you were too late and already he barged in, slamming the door right behind him. At that sound, the others had grown too curious to not want to know as to what was going to happen.
They all moved in closer to you and to her office, gathering around and trying to keep quiet to listen as to what was being said.
“Professor Snape?!”, the woman yelped at the unexpected visit and sudden slam of her door.
“How dare you enter with no permission?! I did not inv-”
Not caring an instant about her, he moved in closer, towering above her as she sat behind her desk. Frowning and glaring down at her, he snapped.
“What the hell are your intentions towards Y/N?!”
Hearing your name, she faked her ignorance, “I beg your pardon, who?”
“Y/N L/N…”
From the way he said your full name, she realized she couldn’t hide her intention and simply decided to let her thoughts about you known, trying to convince him to her side.
“Oh that little brat…Enjoys playing jokes a little too much so I gave her what she deserved-”
Not believing for an instant her excuse to have punished you, he groaned in disgust under his breath and staring at her with disdain for even daring using such words to describe you.
Soon enough he couldn’t stand her anymore with her insolence towards you, he slammed his hands down to her desk, startling her. Cutting her mid sentence, he raised his voice over hers. “You listen to me carefully! And make sure to understand me because I won’t repeat myself!”
He leaned in closer and growled. “The next time I ever see one more scar on my apprentice, Y/N, L/N coming from your stupid quill…or any sort of punishment you can come up with…I’ll make sure it’ll be the last day you’ll ever be seen alive…”
His cold gaze fixed upon her own, he could see the sudden terror in her eyes from the warning he gave her. Smirking arrogantly, he leaned back, straightening himself up.
With nothing else to say, she had to let the man walk out. At his words, everyone outside had gasps and oddly enough your friends kept patting your back and giggling between them from the whole situation.
As the door opened, they all stepped away and tried to act like they hadn’t heard the whole conversation and how defensive he was about you. Your gaze met his as he stepped out. Not caring about the others around, he nodded you over, telling you to hurry and join him for your lesson.
Following his footstep, you couldn’t help but smile, thinking to yourself about how protected you actually were.
Unpopular Opinions: BORUTO Edition
Behold cuz I’m really pissed and Tumblr is the only place I can rant about this.
A list of things that bother me about the Next Generation.
Manga:
  • The fact that there even exists a manga drawn by sb other than Kishimoto himself and it is considered canon.
  • Ikemoto is a pervert and not suitable for illustrating this series, that has a very young audience as well. I don’t think i even need to mention his portrayal of female characters (high-heels and skirts for ninjas, suuuuure), especially Sarada, A 12-13 YEAR OLD, being drawn like this. A fucking panty shot. As if this were some kind of lollitacon ecci manga. Fuck you, Ikemoto, seriously.
  • The storyline lowkey sucks and I’ve stopped reading it out of frustration. I really wanted to give it a chance because I loved Naruto to death, but this is a fucking disappointment.
Anime:
  • Even though the anime is a lot better, now it’s time to nag about the characters included.
    TOO. MANY. FILLER. CHARACTERS. (Sumire, Iwabe, Denki) And they get way more screentime than the actual canon characters (SARADA???, Inojin, Metal Lee, Chouchou). What the shit??
  • Boruto is a fucking brat with the worst manners I’ve ever seen. Sure he’s angry at his dad for never being home, but what the hell boy. And the fact that he’s being made the super nice kid, the hero’s son, is so annoying because he’s nothing like his dad. Only in the most recent episode (#12) he showed some signs of “Oh yeah, that’s Naruto’s kid, alright” because of helping his comrades in the team. Otherwise, he’s a shitty little asshole kid.
  • The portrayal of Naruto’s and Hinata’s marriage.
    Even though I know being Hokage probably takes up a lot of Naruto’s time, but I don’t remember ANY of the other Kage that we’ve seen in office be that busy with their Hokage duties. I get that this is a new Era, but since it is a new Era and Naruto has so many trustworthy friends/comrades, you’d think that he’d hire some more fucking secretaries to handle trivial matters. And since there’s peace at the moment, I really dont see what bigger issues exist that take up Naruto’s time. Also, when he’s home, he’s always shown sleeping on the goddamn sofa in his home office. Even in the Inauguration OVA, when he wasn’t yet “officially” Hokage (because from the movie The Last in the end-credit scene, we see that prior to becoming Hokage, Naruto had a lot of time to spend with his kids. Why change that in the anime??). And Hinata doesn’t seem to be bothered at all. They think showing ONE couple scene, where they lean on each other’s shoulder is gonna keep the fire up? I’m so fed up about this because they make Naruto look like a shitty dad/husband, when he’s the most kind and selfless person in the entire series. Good fucking job, SP. Didn’t expect any less from you.
  • Not to sound like a femi-nazi, but I do have an issue with the major exclusion of female characters and their reduction to mere side characters. Even Sarada and Chouchou, who are canon (Sarada even being the daughter of 2 main characters from the original series), they get such minimal screentime, it’s fucking ridiculous. And when they’re shown, they’re always portrayed as naggy and inferior (except that ONE FREAKIN TIME when Sarada saved Boruto’s ass). Get your shit together.
There’s probably more that I can’t think of right now, but I just wanted to write this down.
TL;DR - I don’t know what Kishimoto wa sthinking when 1. He passed his one of a kind work to a shitty pedo pervert and 2. When he said that he wants BORUTO to surpass NARUTO (as a series). This ain’t ever gonna happen. The storyline is lame and the characters are mostly done wrong by both the studio and the mangaka.
anonymous asked:
What's the funniest thing BigBang ever did?
oh God idk there’s a lot of things that have been pretty funny, but I think the funniest moment they’ve had was when they had that whole texting scandal
So if you’re a new fan, there used to be this show called ‘Strong Heart’ on SBS in Korea. It was a variety show in where idols, actors and other celebrities in Korea tell their interesting/funny stories of being an idol or celebrities. Every episode they would compete with these stories in order to be the ‘Strong Heart’ of the episode. The Bigbang members made appearances on there heaps of times and they even had a YG Family special (which was in 2012).
Anyway, there was an episode where Youngbae and Daesung were on the show and they told a story of when there was a text prank going around the members.
So what happened was that Youngbae found a feature on his cell phone in which you can change who the sender was with texts messages, so then one day Youngbae decided to send Daesung a message with Minzy’s contact details. The text said ‘Oppa, I love you.’ in which Daesung was confused, as well as not wanting to hurt Minzy’s feelings. However, Youngbae then later confessed it was him.
It doesn’t stop there, as Daesung called it ‘the start of the disaster’. The prank then continues with Seungri sending a text saying, ‘Can I sleep beside hyung tonight?’ (referring to Daesung). Daesung was obviously just hella confused at this and kept observing Seungri, thinking, ‘Why would he send that??’.
Then Jiyong sends a text and everything becomes fucking wild.
The members ended up not trusting each other because of this. Even when they laughed together, they would think something was behind the laughing. When the got texts regarding their schedules, they didn’t believe those texts either. EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TEXT THEY GOT, THEY DECIDED THAT IT WASN’T TRUSTWORTHY
 So then the members decided to not play such a prank on each other anymore, because they weren’t trusting each other.
Then one day, all the members received a text. It was from our good old friend Yang Hyun Suk. the text read, ‘There is no more Bigbang, it has been disbanded.’
The members were shocked by this, thinking it was real. So they all went to his office wanting to know what the fuck had happened for him to decide on such a thing. Mr Yang laughed at them, saying he didn’t send the text. He was confused, as so were the members.
The funny thing is, if Mr Yang hadn’t sent the text, then who did? No one owned up to it, therefore none of the members know who actually sent the text.
Actually up to this day, NO ONE KNOWS WHO SENT THE TEXT AND IT’S BEEN SEVEN YEARS SINCE WE HEARD THE STORY
but anyway, I reckon that’s probably the funniest thing that’s happened to Bigbang so far in their careers. Sorry for the mini essay lol
Light reading
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Summary: (Y/N) is not like the other maidens. She was born the daughter of a warrior and she wanted to follow her father’s steps. Being smarter than the rest, she grew up with the princes of Asgard as equals and friends. She enjoys reading and so does Loki, but their light reading habit turned into something else that night.
Warnings: Slight smut, not very detailed. Still a bit cute.
A/N: I’m taking so long and I swear I’m trying to get things done! So, I was once talking to my babe Raissa from @imaginedaily and she told me Andy Black would make a great young loki, and as this one shot takes place before the Thor movies, I thought it’d be great to put him in the usual gif I put.
The master of swords said goodbye to all of the maiden warriors that trained at that time and congratulated all of you for such an enriching session. You were getting better by the minute and all the training had some effect on your body as well, for which you were incredibly grateful. You were the daughter of a master of arms and one of the queen’s most trustworthy maidens, so you were always surrounded by the princes. You called them your friends and the feeling was the same from them.
But as you grew up, you became more interested in defending the kingdom rather than serving the queen. You wanted to follow your father steps and so you began training and going on small excursions with the other Asgardians.
As you walked to your chamber, you found your childhood friend. The youngest prince, Loki, was heading for your chamber as well, to look for you because he had found something very interesting as he went through his father’s library.
“So, how was training?” He asked, as you walked over to the wardrobe. The room was a bit too much for you, but your parents had chosen it for you and they said that they wouldn’t accept a no for an answer, especially now that you were to become a warrior. “My brother says you’re getting very good at mastering the sword.”
“Yes,” you nodded, “but I believe it is kind of in my blood, I mean… Father is a master of arms himself, so…” you shrugged carelessly.
“I haven’t seen you in battle myself, but everyone points out how graceful you are. Well, you are a pretty woman, like your mother. You’ve got in yourself the best of both worlds.” He chuckled.
“Uhh—” your mouth hung open—“well—thank you—I mean… I—I guess so.” You took out your sleeping garments: a pair of tight shorts and a long shirt. You looked over your shoulder, and he had a shit eating grin of approval. “Make a painting, Odinson,” you sneered, “it’ll take as long as it will last.” He shook his head in amusement. “So, what do you have there?”
“It seems like my father keeps these books away from all of us.” The youngest son of Odin said, flaunting his newest discovery in one of his pale hands. “I went through some of the pages, and it’s very… interesting. Midgardians seem like a fascinating kind.”
“How so?” You asked as you got rid of your sweaty garments. Since you and Loki were friends since childhood, you had seen him naked when he was little and he had seen you too; besides, undressing among a large amount of people was kind of an everyday thing for you.
“It is very graphic.”
“Graphic as in… cold blooded graphic?” You turned your back to him. “Humans can get very, very bloody.” You said from over your shoulder.
“As in sexually graphic.” Loki smiled wickedly, showing his teeth and giving you a naughty look.
You sighed and shook your head, leaving the training gear inside your wardrobe. Loki was already sitting on the rug and waiting for you to sit next to him. You complied, holding your legs close to your chest as he went through the pages of the book. It was very graphic indeed, and in his silky, deep voice, it was truly giving you the chills.
The pictures in the book were rather crude and unlike other human paintings, they had little to no detail at all. They weren’t very delightful to look at, but you were already having another picture. Loki doing all those things to you. Having his unusually cold hands all over your body, and his thin lips sucking on your neck, or better, on your breasts as you moaned his name.
“(Y/N)?” He asked, suddenly dragging you out of your thoughts. You looked at him, completely perplexed and rising your eyebrows. “You just… moaned.” He said, with a slight taint of laughter in his voice. You turned red in a split second and tried to explain yourself. “Maybe we should leave this reading for another day…” He suggested.
“N—no—” you stuttered—“I’m fine.”
He let out a breathy giggle and happily complied. Truth be told, he was feeling the effects of the book. He was imagining you going down on him, and riding his shaft like a professional. You fanned yourself as you got lost in your thoughts again; the mere wonder of how his tongue would feel in between your folds, and his cock sliding up on you, reaching a point that your fingers never could… It felt like heaven, a painful heaven.
“I’m getting bored.” You huffed loudly. “What if we take this book into practice?”
“What took you so long?” He smiled in amusement and left the book aside.
You straddled his lap, finally feeling his cold hands on an uncovered spot of your skin. You threw your head back and he took the opportunity to land his lips on the hot skin of your neck, just above your pulse point; he licked his lips before sinking his teeth on you and sucking. You rubbed yourself against him, feeling a growing bulge really near your wetting folds. He appreciated the gesture by sucking harder on you. That would be a very difficult spot to cover later, but you’d think about that when you’d finished your business with him.
You took your hands to the hem of your shirt and slowly slid it up. If you had known you’d end up naked, you wouldn’t have worn anything that night. It proved to be useless.
You pushed him back enough to be able to look at him. His green eyes shone brightly, but the light was not even close to loving; it was pure lust that took over him, and you could might as well enjoy yourself with it.
In a split second, the trickster was lying on top of you on the huge bed, pinning your wrists with his cold hands that were a cool refresh. His lips looked for you furiously, like an animal that finally got to catch its prey. But even though he had the eyes of a predator, you were not the one to call a prey.
You let him out power you, feeling the neediness of his touch as he got rid of your upper garment. He took out his own clothing, revealing a perfectly sculpted torso on such a slim frame. You two made passionate love all night, feeling the endorphins bubbling inside your body and the love that he procured you each time he stopped to look at you.
Once you were ready to call it quits, and you felt tired enough to sleep like a baby you slid under the silk bedding. It was a bit messy from all the moving, and you made a mental note of taking them to washing because they still had the strong smell of sex all over them. Loki, who was now fully dressed, walked closer to you. He patted your head and gently kissed your temple, getting ready to leave you and let you get some rest.
“You can stay here if you’d like.” You offered. “You won’t escape from the walk of shame anyway.”
“Do you want me to stay here?” You bit your bottom lip and nodded nervously, feeling a strong warmth on your cheeks. “Well, I can’t decline such a lovely invitation.” He turned on his heels and slid beside you; for the very first time, you noticed his skin was not cold, and his temperature matched yours.
His arms wrapped around you, pulling you closer to his chest as he buried his face in your hair and nuzzled at the back of your neck. His soft and rhythmic breathing dozed you off and it worked better than a lullaby.
Ok but really, one thing I have yet to see is a non-irradiated junkrat who ends up still taking his love for explosives seriously and ends up becoming at least a part time demolitions expert. And maybe owns a mechanical shop, if his love of tinkering with things speaks for anything. Then there’s big bad biker Mako, referred to as Roadhog not only for his status within his gang, but also for his tenancy to scare the shit out of anyone who has to share the road with him. Well, turns out quite a lot of the members of Roadhog’s gang go to Junkrats shop when their bikes need work. Mako figures if they can trust this mechanic, he must be trustworthy, so he gives him the time of day when he needs work done. To say the least, Junkrat is not what he expects, but in a good way. They click after the first-time they meet, bonding over a love of bikes and a little destructive fun. Once Roadhog finds out Junkrat owns and rides a bike too, they start riding together all the time, and junkrat starts taking him along with him when he gets called to level a structure. They have fun doing wild shit together, grow close enough to trust each other with their troubles (maybe mako had a tragic backstory, how Junkrat lost his limbs, etc.) fall in love and raise hell as the baddest couple you’ve ever seen. The biker gang throws them this whole big ass party when the two get engaged. Civilians are terrified. Junkrat loves it. (Bonus points if it later comes to light that the gang totally messed with Roadhog’s bike and forcing him to get it fixed as a way of getting him and Junkrat together)
