so many mixed feelings about this one

kiirdonel  asked:

RFA+V+Saeran with an MC who touches them distractedly a lot, like not in a sexual way or a ticklish way, but just absentmindedly touching their skin as if it's physically comforting for the MC to know the one they love is right beneath their fingertips. If you've got too many, don't worry about it though. ^-^

I feel like some of this is very close to the fine line between ‘cute and soft’ and ‘cheesy and cringey’  so I guess I’ll leave it to you guys to decide which side of the line it’s on lol

Yoosung:

  • he finds it oddly intimate
  • every time you do it his entire body heats up with a weird kind of mix between embarrassment and pride
  • she’s touching me she loves me
  • it really helps to calm his anxieties about not being good enough for you
  • he especially likes it when you do it in public, because it shows everyone that you belong to each other and that you’re not ashamed to be with him
  • it always sends tingles throughout his body and makes him shiver in the best way
  • he probably gets all sulky if you haven’t done it in a while, or didn’t do it for as long that time
  • he just really likes how it feels ok

Zen:

  • he thinks it’s super adorable
  • it makes him grin like an idiot whenever he feels you doing it
  • he’ll often do it back in response because he loves the innocence of the whole thing
  • he’s sometimes worried it’ll awaken ‘the beast’ but honestly, it never usually does
  • it’s too soft and pure and he doesn’t want to corrupt that
  • the most it ever leads to is a soft kiss, because it makes his heart swell with love and sometimes he can’t resist it
  • it makes him feel so fuzzy

Jaehee:

  • she’s really not used to affectionate physical contact, and so it surprises her at first
  • she might jump a little when she feels it the first few times because she isn’t expecting it
  • you instantly apologise and say it’s just a habit you have with people you care about
  • and she’s like… me?! you care about me?!
  • once she’s used to it, it soothes her a hell of a lot
  • if she’s ever stressed over something all she has to do is sit with you for a little while and feel your fingers dancing over her skin and it’ll calm her down
  • she kind of melts into it when it happens, because she’s never felt this loved in her entire life

Jumin:

  • every time he feels your fingers brushing against him, it makes his heart leap a little
  • he’s not used to this kind of loving touch
  • whenever women have flirted with him before, they touched him in an awkward, flirty way, but this is different
  • he didn’t realise that a simple touch could feel so good
  • you often don’t notice when you’re doing it, and he never points it out because he doesn’t want you to get embarrassed and stop
  • he’s never quite sure how to respond to it, because he doesn’t have much experience with this kind of thing
  • so he settles for just closing his eyes and allowing himself to let down his guard for little while

707:

  • the first few times it happens he kind of tenses up and freezes
  • he’s not used to any kind of physical contact with people, and he doesn’t feel like he deserves your affection
  • you usually don’t notice his strange reaction, so you continue
  • after a few moments he relaxes into it, and every time it happens he gradually gets more and more comfortable
  • and he finds that he actually really loves it, because it shows that you genuinely do love him, which is always something he worries about
  • he worries he’s not good enough for you and that you’ll get sick of him, but this helps him forget that
  • it helps calm him down and focus on nothing but you for a few moments
  • it’s like you guys are the only people in the entire universe
  • and he ends up finding himself subconsciously picking up the habit too
  • he loves the physical contact and the constant reminder you’re here with him

Saeran:

  • at first it makes him jump every time you touch him
  • he’s kind of twitchy and definitely not used to gentle, physical contact
  • he knows you don’t do it on purpose, and honestly he’s not entirely sure how he feels about it at first
  • he tries to put up with it because he doesn’t want to make you feel bad about it, and he kind of wants to figure out how it makes him feel
  • eventually, after he manages to push past the initial anxiety, he realises it’s actually kind of… nice
  • your touch is never harsh or aggressive, and so this gives him a taste of the kind of human contact he isn’t used to
  • he never knows how to respond, and usually just sits there while you do it, totally hyperaware of every movement
  • it sends his brain into overdrive every time
  • he really doesn’t feel like he deserves any kind of love
  • and he’s always been scared of abandonment, but whenever you do it he questions how he could possibly ever be scared of you leaving

V:

  • he’s big on touch too
  • and as it turns out, he has pretty much the same habit
  • whenever you’re near each other, you’re always touching in some way
  • maybe he’ll be stroking your thigh and you’ll be tracing patterns on his arm
  • he loves it because of how intimate it feels, and it also reassures him that you’re there and that you love him
  • it helps soothe him whenever he’s feeling down
  • and it helps him realise that there are different kinds of love in the world
  • strong and trusting love with Jumin, fast-paced and intense love with Rika, complicated and fragile love with Saeyoung, and then soft, gentle and pure love with you
  • neither of you really notice when it’s happening
  • it’s only once it’s stopped that you feel the absence of it
About Marco’s death in the next episode

So I’ve gotten quite a few asks concerning this topic and decided to put my thoughts down here.

In short, this looks like Bert reacting to Reiner reacting to Marco reactionception. We see the walls of Trost in the background, even the weather fits, this basically confirms that the rather tragic flashback plays next Saturday.

I have mixed feelings about the decision. On one hand, Marco’s demise serves as a parallel to Bert’s fate a few chapters later, and also helps kickstart his more determined persona we can see during the Shiganshina arc. Since his death, despite its presentation, remains an important even in the story, giving him this flashback to contextualize it all a bit more worked really well in 77. So I am slightly worried about what’ll happen once we get Shiganshina animated…but that’s a question for 2000 years from now.

There are many aspect of this I enjoy a lot though. First of all, it brings Reiner’s mental issues full circle right away. Ch 46 does a great job at introducing his split personality issue to the viewers, so seeing its origin gives the whole thing more weight, and adds to the humanization of “humanities enemy”. Furhtermore, I was personally quote bugged by the reminder of the existence of Reiner’s issues in 77, I felt that there was a possibility they might return in some shape or form, and that Isa reminded us of them on purpose (in retrospective maybe dumb, but Reiner’s brain was literally blown to bits at one point…is it too far fetched to make a connection between those events?). So not having that reminder in Shiganshina works wonders for me.

Another thing is that we actually get to see RBA in action once. Though its implied numerous times at that point in the story, 77 is the only time we actually get to see them acting towards their goal, and not overly professional at that. It’s great because A) all three of them are once more humanized, a major theme of the clash arc anyway, and B) gives more context to Bert’s crush on Annie, which becomes an actual plot point in ch 49. Since we actually see them all doing shit together, it feels more organic in my opinion.

Additionally, both Annie and Marco have appeared in flashbacks this season—gotta pour in the salt while the wounds are still open. The clash arc already is overflowing with tragedy, lets throw in the horrible demise of the fan fav character in there too. Thanks Attack on Titan.

And for what its worth, this isn’t really a disrespect from the anime team concerning the placement of the scene in ch 77. In fact, the anime team went to Isayama requesting storyboards for Marco’s death, bc they were planning on including it there, yet Isayama hadn’t even though about introducing it to the story yet. Only after creating the scene for the anime team did he decide to introduce it in the manga, and it happened to fit in really well. (x)

Funny thing I realized earlier: remember the titan that ate Marco’s half? He had an eerie resemblance with series director Tetsurou Araki, didn’t he?

It’s because Araki was the one to ask for the scene. Araki was the one who initiated the creation of the death of Marco. Araki was the one to kill Marco.

latino smh headcanons
  •  latino nursey is very quiet in english and very loud in spanish.
    • everything about him is louder in spanish tbh even his laugh turns into this giant high pitched howl.
  •  while the difference is most drastic in nursey, both tango and whiskey also raise their volume.
    • whiskey also relaxes 10x more like hes kinda uptight just a general rule but around other latinos? its like his whole personality changes.
  • listen, also? tv is such an important part for them to connect w/ the hispanic world??
    • nuestro bellessa latina is so important that they dvr it but also all try very hard to schedule around it, so they can watch it in person.
    •  since nurseys not as into futbòl as tango and whiskey are, its really the climax of his life as a latino.
  • tango cant eat spicy things.
    • he Just Cant
    • Like not even the tiniest of sprinkle of jalapeño on tortilla chips
  • nursey is unhealthily addicted to coffee, like cuban coffee that’s just basically a straight shot of espresso. not for the faint of heart. its like liquid adrenaline
    • tango tried it once and like, could barely exist on the same plane as us mere mortals
  • whiskey also lowkey makes fun of everyone else’s accents because he grew up in puerto rico up until highschool so his spanish is excellent but he also thinks its really cute when people fuck up esp tango
    • tango has a complicated relationship with spanish bc hes always afraid of sounding too hispanic when saying things like latino countries or specific words that he cant help but say with an accent and then people look at him weird because he doesn’t look hispanic
  • tango is honestly a telenovela encyclopedia. u name it, hes seen it, can quote the most iconic scenes, and will act them out at any given time
  • whiskey is absolutely his abuelita’s child like. he calls her every couple of days if not every day he loves her so so much and nursey chirps the shit out of him for it but really he’s just lowkey jealous whiskey is so close with his family.
  • tango is also jewish and people are often very confused about how that works because both of his parents are argentinean. tango just confuses them more by trying to explain it.
  • all of them just sort of speak a unique blend of all of the slang from their respective countries like they have all just accepted the many different forms “im drunk” or “dude” or “drinking straw” come in. but the curse words that are common phrases in one country and horribly offensive in the other are a constant issue tbh
  • tango and whiskey are fabulous dancers. nursey, bless him, tries his hardest. he truly does. he just really has two left feet off of the ice
  • whiskey is truly an impressive drinker. all three of them can hold their liquor well but whiskey is just. stellar at it. he started drinking at like 13 and enters college as a seasoned alcoholic. (just kidding hes not an alcoholic!(actually tbh its hard to tell but lets just say he isnt))
  • i could forreal go on forever about this so i’m just gonna end it here: they all hate being called mexican, tango and whiskey especially (yes it’s partially about futbòl). there is something about being misidentified so grossly that really grinds ones gears. hence the gratuitous amount of clothing/memorabilia each of them own based on their nationalities.
    • if u think tango doesnt own a big argentinian flag that he definitely ties around his neck when appropriately timed, ur wrong
    • how many puerto rico tshirts can whiskey own? answer: an obscene amount. like for real at least 4 or 5. they’re both very extra

I have finally finished Caraval and I have so many mixed feelings about it! On one hand I really enjoyed the setting and the plot twists but on the other there were so many things that annoyed me.

- This book has been compared with the The Night Circus so I had very high expectations going into the story. I agree with similarity in the mysterious and magical setting that makes you question reality. But The Night Circus is unique in so many regards and I don’t think it’s fair for Caraval to be compared with it, otherwise people will go into the story with expectations that are different from what it truly is.

- I wasn’t a huge fan of Garber’s writing style. Sometimes it got way too repetitive especially when it came to Scarlett and her constant dialogue regarding her sister. I also feel like the author was trying too hard to be poetic and atmospheric but ended up being too superficial.

- [SPOILER] I also feel like the relationship between Scarlett and Julian was quite rushed, forced and unnecessary and there are certain scenes that the book could definitely have gone without [such as kissing scenes when the characters should have been focusing on fleeing].

- I appreciated the focus on sibling relationships and how the sisters would go to the ends of the earth to protect each other. Reading about their relationship with their father was truly horrible: to see a man treat his daughters like objects is just too awful to comprehend and I’m glad Garber tackled this important subject.

- My favourite characters by far are Julian and Tella and they are the main reasons why I will definitely continue on with this series! I hope the second book will focus a lot more on their perspectives because I think they have so much to offer.

-All in all Caraval is an interesting read with a very wonderful concept but it’s definitely not a favourite of mine. I hope the second book will be worth waiting for!

Firefly’s MP100 Fandom Appreciation Post

(Which Nobody Asked For But Y’alls Getting Anyways)

There are too many incredible artists and writers in this fandom, so this is an incomplete list of people based on who I interact with regularly, and whose stuff I silently fangirl over.  Many of them have been supporters of my art, my fics, or the collaborative comics at Kiddy Corner, like On The Subject of Change.

Thank you to everybody, followers and friends alike, for their support!

Bitter Sunday prompt: Team Freeloader seeing that Tony Stark doesn't need them when they get back and yet they need him. But he's all out of fucks to give about them.

For some reason I feel like I keep being the hardest on Clint in these bitter posts and showing more understanding/regret/etc from Natasha and Steve, so I figured I’d mix it up and start this one with him. Because I genuinely like all the characters, I’m just very unhappy with some of their choices (and obviously Tony is my favourite and I’m by no means unbiased).

When Clint first gets off the plane back in his birth country he isn’t happy like he’s envisioned himself being for months. He’s dreamed so many times of this moment, but now that it is actually happening, there’s no relief. No excitement.

Only–he’s not sure what’s left or how to call it but it feels empty.

Seeing his family again goes not at all and exactly like he thought it would. Laura slaps him, though she’s crying to hard for it to truly hurt. Unlike when she twists away from him, avoids his touch, because that. That won’t ever not hurt. Lila is smiling at him, a tiny thing, like she’s not supposed to but can’t help herself. She’s clinging to Cooper’s hand, who’s glaring darkly in a not at all encouraging way. And there’s Nathaniel, the son that doesn’t even know him, just pats his mother’s cheek awkwardly in an attempt to stop her tears and–

Clint isn’t ashamed to say he flees. He doesn’t know what to do or say to make this better and he just…takes the easy way out. He moves back into the compound, away from the family he doesn’t quite know, only it’s not the same.

The compound has always been his home away from home, sometimes perhaps more so than it should have been. It’s different now though, hasn’t been the same since their return. At first Clint assumes he’s simply remembering things better than they actually were. With how often he’s been lying in Wakanda’s ridiculously idyllic gardens, dreaming of this place, it’s entirely possible after all.

Besides a lot of the things he notices in the beginning are small, easily forgotten. They just begin to pile up after a while.

Like the way Clint can’t remember the water ever having turned cold on him before–but maybe he’s just never showered long enough? Or the way their fridge ends up being empty more often than not and how their laundry just keeps piling up until Sam snaps and declares Saturday laundry day–and you better be there or else.

Then there is their battle gear. It’s starts with the clothes, which are good quality and the right size. But. They aren’t great quality and they aren’t tailored. And Clint wouldn’t have noticed this a few short years back, but now he does. Now he knows how it could be. Knows that the material doesn’t have to stick to his skin quite as uncomfortable, doesn’t have to limit his mobility just a slightest bit. It goes on with his weapons. The knifes that are decent but not perfectly designed for the kind of throwing he prefers. The arrows that are just arrows, are replaced after every fight but don’t suddenly appear out of thin air–and that is something Clint remembers well, the excitement when he used a new kind of arrow, uncertain of what to expect, the thrill of all the new possibilities once he realises what their purpose is–and he misses it.

The first time they’re out in the field again, they almost get killed. Sam is in the hospital for three weeks, Clint only barely escapes with a broken arm and a concussion. It’s not because they’ve forgotten how to fight, it’s because they’ve made a terrible, idiotic mistake that Clint wants to hit himself for even months later.

Because for some inexplicable reason it hadn’t occurred to any of them that Iron Man wouldn’t join them. (He hadn’t been called on, they later learn, because the threat hadn’t been deemed that dangerous–and it wouldn’t have been, if only they had adjusted their strategy accordingly.)

The training Steve puts them through after that episode is rigorous but nobody dares to complain. And it doesn’t happen again, not on that grade, but Clint is a decent agent, he recognises that their efficiency isn’t what it was. He recognises what–who–is missing.

He finds himself watching Stark on TV sometimes now, during reports of attacks they haven’t been called in to handle–Stark’s not alone, Clint notices, and can’t put his finger on why that bothers him–interviews, even gossip channels. He doesn’t know why. Doesn’t know when he’s stopped hurling insults designed to hurt at the screen, just that he did.

It takes Clint three months to admit to himself that he misses Tony Stark. He doesn’t say it out loud, isn’t sure he ever will. He never asks the others about their thoughts on the billionaire either, though it’s no secret that Steve has been trying to patch things up–and has been insistently rebuffed with a polite distance Clint wouldn’t have believed Stark capable of if he hadn’t witnessed it with his own eyes.

He doesn’t reach out, doesn’t call the man. He could, he supposes, though the thought of having to apologise for some of the things he’s said in anger leaves a stale taste on his tongue. Clint has never been good at apologies. He’s much preferred that silent understanding he used to share with Tony–and maybe that’s part of the problem.

Either way it doesn’t matter because Stark is so far removed from them now, it’s hard to imagine they’ll ever be reunited again. He’s there occasionally, during battles, but they never even hear his voice, it’s always just FRIDAY on the comms. And contrary to Steve Clint can take a fucking hint. He isn’t going to run after the other man, he doesn’t want to.

Really.

And if he occasionally finds himself glaring at the TV where Stark and a masked Spiderman exchange jokes in front of the excited reporters, well, it’s not like he’s jealous or something. That would just be stupid.

It takes another thirteen weeks for Clint to admit to himself that the things he misses most about Stark aren’t the nice things he gave them, the money or the way he always seemed to know how to redirect the presses’ attention in a way that benefitted them.

It’s the way Stark used to join him in the kitchen at ass crack in the morning sometimes, hand him a cup of hot chocolate and stare silently into nothingness, just to keep Clint company. It’s the way they used to watch Gilmore Girls together and constantly make references to the show, just to confuse Steve and piss him off. It’s the way Stark nodded off against Clint’s shoulder sometimes, after a particularly exhausting day, like he hadn’t been mind-controlled by a psychotic alien mere weeks ago.

Not that it matters anymore, now.

Staring unblinkingly at his ringing phone showcasing Laura’s number that Clint can’t bring himself to answer, he bitterly wonders to himself if maybe that’s why he was always going to follow Steve’s call at the drop of a hat–because he’s always been better at running rather than staying.

I’m not sure this is what you had in mind but I tried my best. The focus was supposed to be Clint’s friendship with Tony rather than the fallout from the Accords, and then things just got completely out of control *shrug*

Art School | Nathan Bell (Los Angeles, CA)

As one of the shows featured in our April First Thursdays, Los Angeles-based artist Nathan Bell’s upcoming solo show ‘Mixed Feelings’ will featured 400 works using materials such as french paper, coroplast, and mixed media.  Self described “introverted over thinker with a design background,” Bell expresses himself through the painted word, or rather words –a whole lot of them. Through experimenting with “language, typography and aesthetic,” Bell’s work focuses on thoughts, ideas, wordplays, inside jokes, reflections, all of which he has been creating for the last two years!

We’re excited to feature him on Art School where we find out more about his works and words! From working with new materials to his process to what we should expect in his solo show ‘Mixed Feelings,’ which opens Saturday, April 22nd at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles.

I’m really not understanding by what non-AA’s mean when they say our voices are heard more than theirs. I’ve talked to a few South Africans and Black British people on Twitter, and the majority of them said that we’re loud about our issues but not others in the diaspora. One woman told me that if we can make people aware of Black Lives Matter and the injustices towards African-Americans, it doesn’t make sense for their voices to remain unheard. And I’m just confused. It sounds to me they’re complaining that African-Americans work too hard to get their voices heard. They are basically saying since we put so much effort into seeking justice for our oppression, we need to put that same energy towards everyone in the diaspora. That is such terrible logic!

Why would an ethnic group need to carry other ethnicities on their backs? These people are saying the reason why our voices are heard is because of American privilege. First of all, white Americans aren’t helping us. They aren’t the ones telling other black people about our issues. It’s African-Americans. Other black people in the diaspora listen to our issues, and they help us. Now if the issue is that many ethnic groups prioritize African-Americans over their own self-interests, well, that sounds like an intracommunity issue, not white supremacy. That doesn’t sound like it’s white people prioritizing African-Americans over anyone else. That sounds like many non-AA’s project their Eurocentrism and colorism unto a whole ethnic group, and people mistake that as white supremacy and imperialism. If there are people who feel our issues matter more because they look at us as “mixed” or “whiter,” that is definitely a problem with intraracism and not white supremacy telling people we’re more important. That seems self-made to me.

African-Americans literally received help from no one and it took being “loud” to finally be heard. So for non-African-Americans to complain we’re “loud” about our issues really need to have several seats and understand why that is. I just don’t understand why many in the diaspora feel African-Americans need to use our voices to talk about what’s going on in their spaces when we really have no grounds to do that. We do so much for our own including others in the diaspora as there is. What do you mean we need to use extra energy to talk about what’s going on in England, Germany, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Nigeria?

i finished the song of achilles yesterday night and no book has ever destroyed me like this.., who even need feelings anyway, please if you have headcanons about patrochilles to share or anything tsoa to share im willing to cry

Oh my gosh I have so many thoughts about Song of Achilles (and have forced them on so many. I cannot tell you the amount of people who hate me for making them read this book)

  • please give me all of the patrochilles friendship where they love each other so deeply and are already folded into each others lives before they even start dating
  • it is so natural for them to start dating, and they realize their relationship has always been heading towards this immense something between them that was fate
  • Achilles knowing just how much Patroclus makes him a better person, and always calling him his better half
  • Patroclus always calling Achilles petal as his endearment, and it started as a joke, but now Achilles feels all warm inside whenever Patroclus uses it.
  • Achilles being an absolute disaster at life in general, and Patroclus being able to calm him down somewhat. Achilles always becomes softer around Patroclus.
  • Patroclus being an absolute badass who works in a hospital and has seen some shit, so everyone always assumes that Achilles is the super aggressive and assertive one until they see Patroclus angry. Achilles just is a disaster; Patroclus is a storm.
  • They have a playlist of songs that they call theirs. It’s a really eclectic mix and Careless Whisper is definitely on there.
  • Achilles is really particular about folding clothes. Patroclus is really particular about kitchen cleanliness. This is how they battle out problems in their relationships.

What placements fall in love easily

Venus in Libra, Pisces/12th house (but it’s not that they technically fall in love easily, they just tend to idealize their partner and falls in love with only one part, a part that doesn’t exist or they’re just in love with love)

Venus-Neptune aspects (they can get confused about who their partner actually is and can think they’re better than they are, they tend to be hopeless romantics too so they can “fall hard” many times but then realize they just got their feels mixed up)

9 tips to get your s*%# together

1. Get more sleep! No more falling asleep reading, or messing around on my phone. I’ve picked up this bad habit, and it is hard to break. It seems like I cant fall asleep now without checking out new lists on listverse, reading the news, or scrolling through Tumblr. I am also WAY guilty of exercising zero self control when it comes to recreational reading “one more page…one more chapter…” until its 0300 and I have to get up in a couple hours. I need to turn those electric devices off by 2230.

2. Snooze less. This one sort of goes hand in hand with #1. I have ALOT  to do, I am supposed to get up at 0500 everyday and walk my fur-babies for an hour, then get ready and go on with my day. Lately, I have been snoozing my alarm until it wont snooze anymore. If I went to sleep when I am supposed to, I would probably have no trouble getting going on time.

3. Using a 24 hour weekly schedule to record what you are actually doing with all of your time can be VERY eye opening. I need to be better about following through with my plans. I know how to manage my time, but lately I have been quite lax with the execution. Being better about this would help reduce stress, and increase productivity- both things that most students care about.

4. Less T.V. During the semester I try not to watch more than 3 hours of T.V. per week. It is SO easy to get sucked in…GOT anyone?

5. After a 4 hr lecture, 2 hr lab, and 8 hr shift at work I feel like going home, falling into my bed and passing out so that I can repeat the process the following day. If you wear makeup, washing it off before bed is HUGE. No matter how tired you are, just do it.

6. Prep- all kinds of prep makes life easier. meal prep, prepping what youre wearing, or taking with you the following day, etc.

7. Set aside time to do stuff around the house everyday- do not let things pile up until your day off! Make a daily task list and check it off everyday.

8. Exercise for you and your pets. I have 3 big dogs, they need structured exercise, not just running around the dog park or in my yard. They each have a pack they carry and we (normally) walk every morning. Some mornings I may not feel motivated to get up for that 3 mile walk for myself, but I will do anything for my dogs well-being, so I’ll get my butt up and go. (Kinda off topic- but let me throw this out there, if you have pets, they need you. They depend on you to take care of them, to give them what they need. They do not just need food! Dogs need affection, discipline, and exercise. If you’re stressed because your dog is misbehaving- look at your own behavior. What does your pet need that you are not giving them? Dogs are not born bad, humans make them what they become. ((Just saying no pit bull was ever born a killer)) unbalanced dogs are bound to do things you dont want them to do. Large, high strung breeds, or working breeds are going to need more than a dachsund. Dont just love on your pets, also give them what they need. If you cant make enough time, or muster up enough patience to give them what they NEED, then you need to rethink your priorities, or your status as a pet owner. Dont be selfish, pets are not put on this earth for human amusement.)

I also need more exercise than a walk, so I do indoor cycling 3x a week, interval/strength training 2x a week, and yoga at least 2x a week.

9. If you enjoy getting your hair and nails done (or if you enjoy doing your own) then make time to do this. If these little things  make you feel good about yourself, then it is important, and not frivolous.

**Sorry about the weird timing of the pet rant- it’s just one of those things that I feel so passionately about, and I feel like too many people dont give it enough thought. It is not just a pit thing, its a pet thing. My dogs are all pit mixes, and they are all mixed with a working breed,  they were all abused and rescued. One of them was used as a bait dog in a fighting ring a few miles away in Tuskegee. They have helped me through some of the toughtest times in my life, and I owe them to give them the best lives. I feel painfully passionate about treating animals the right way. To be quite honest, I tend to like animals more than most people.

Each one of them had been affected by the organisation; more so Bucky and Steve and they didn’t want anyone else to suffer.

“The goddamn bastards just keep spawning! Where are they coming from?!”

Bucky’s temper was the first to flare up as he slammed a metal fist down onto the table. A dark look enveloped his eyes as he did.

“There are reports that all those people who have gone missing over the past couple of years have had their minds infiltrated – filled with the HYDRA vision. They essentially have their pick of any innocent civilian wandering the streets.” Agent Hill’s voice mirrored the feelings of the team sat around her but despite the anger she also felt she kept it reeled in so that she was able to relay the information she needed to. “This base is known to be running underneath the guise of a homeless shelter. People have been seen entering the building but never leaving.”

You held onto a hope that maybe Namjoon would notice your absence and come sprinting out after you, stopping you from getting into the car and kissing you until you felt weak in the knees. Cue the rain and romantic ballad playing in the background as the protagonist finally finds love.

But, this was no movie. Your carriage had arrived in the form of a silver Prius and your prince was nowhere to found.

Slouching onto the couch the moment you walk into your shared apartment with Namjoon, you felt nothing but emptiness.

This place no longer felt like home. The little moments with Namjoon you took for granted began to pile up and you knew that things would never be able to be the same again.

Seeing him tonight, giving his attention to some other girl was heartbreaking in every sense of the word. What if he brought her back here? Would he be so cruel? Again, it’s not like you could blame him. The way you toyed with his heart was just as horrible.

Word Count: 3,500 words

A/N: Yay you guys correctly guessed the member! Like an Angel takes place in the same universe as Strangers, but Yixing’s version does not. Yixing’s version (which is coming soon) is in its own universe.

You look down at the very first mission card.

Your husband’s favorite colors are white and black. Make sure to dress in those colors!

Your eyes move to look at your choice of wardrobe. Everything they gave to you was either black, white, or both. Not caring about what you wear, you settle on a pure white blouse with black leggings. Looking at the shoes, you randomly pick up a pair of mary jane heels.

It was time. It was finally the time you got to find out who your husband was going to be for the next few months of filming. Well, fake husband. You had wondered about this show long enough. Was the hand holding real? Were the hugs real? Was the affection itself real? People had different opinions, yet you yourself had never really had one. Some people said everything was scripted, and others said everything was real. But what if it was in the middle? What if it was both scripted and real? You wanted to find out for yourself. So, after pestering your agent and manager begging them to get you a part in this show, they finally caved.

What if MC were a grandma

  • She’d be the type of old woman to have those hard candies in her purse at all times. Y’know the ones where the wrappers look like strawberries? And it seems like they’re reserved for only old people because they’re nowhere to be found in stores? Those.
  • Keeps sewing supplies in a cookie tin even if she doesn’t sew.
  • She makes herself out to be waaaaaaaaay older then she is. She’s always shouting things like “Oh, my hip!” even if her hip is fine.
  • She took one of the kid’s skateboards one day and just skated off with it.
  • “Back in my day,”
  • Takes her husband/ Jaehee to bingo every week. If she misses bingo, her s/o doesn’t hear the end of it for the rest of the week.
  • SHE WATCHES JEOPARDY AND WHEEL OF FORTUNE EVERY. NIGHT.
    • It’s a competition in the house to see who knows the most answers. She and her s/o (and the grand kids on occasion) spend too much time on google, learning useless shit.
  • For her 60th birthday, everyone goes bowling and she joins an old people bowling league.
  • She learns to knit just for the irony. Everyone gets scarves, sweaters, and blankets every birthday and Christmas.
  • Always loses her umbrella and buys new ones, so she owns like 20+ umbrellas.
  • She always says shit like “these damn kids with their new age hippity hop music,” but she’s actually super up with the times and is considered “cool” by many of the local high schoolers.
  • Whenever a new family moves in near them, she’ll either bring them cookies and welcome them to the neighborhood or wait until they come to her, dress in all black, and imply that she murdered her first three husbands and participates in witchcraft. The neighborhood has very mixed feelings about her.

Could you describe how Ravenclaws feel when Spring comes around?

It’s finally getting warmer where I live, so I’m definitely in the mood to answer this ask!

- Spring feverrrr baby

- Feel the urge to go outside and be outdoorsy, but no actual motivation to be active because they’re busy and that’s too much work

- Unless they’re an athletic type of Ravenclaw, in which case they probably run/fly around while daydreaming about their summer fantasies

- Seriously, Ravenclaws are idealists when it comes to warm weather

- Try to plan their summer vacation to perfection, but lose interest and end up organizing it at the last minute

- End up ditching their robes when it gets too hot, then accidentally forgetting and leaving them lying around (much to the chagrin of prefects)

- Since spring is the season of loooove, love potions are high in demand at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes

- Either that, or Ravenclaw is really cynical about how goofy and romantic all their friends are acting

- Like to make fun of Gryffindor for doing stupid flying stunts just because it’s nice outside. “Why?? It’s still dangerous!”

- A great time for photographer Ravenclaws

- Have mixed feelings about wanting to go be in nature vs. wanting to stay inside and read forever

- Lowkey stressed about exams but trying not to think about it

- Ravenclaws who like making visual art love spring because there are so many beautiful things to paint/draw!

- Start grilling their friends about summer plans because what to do?

- Will only do their homework while sitting by the lake because you have to take advantage of the weather!

- Try to enchant the flowers to open up more quickly (with little success)

- But spring is one of their favorite seasons because:

a) not too hot!

b) not too cold!

c) no bees or mosquitoes!

d) pretty flowers!

e) baby animals!

Send me an ask requesting headcanons/aesthetics!

afirewiel  asked:

What is your favorite non-Austen period novel? Movie?

Okay I’m gonna do a rundown of all my favourites because making me pick one is just mean. (Also at one point in my notes on the following books and films I just wrote “Bagels” and I can’t for the life of me think what I might have meant or autocorrected that from. Maybe a shopping list started to take form. I don’t know.)

(If the film Miss Austen Regrets and book Longbourn by Jo Baker count as non-Austen then include them.)

Films:

Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India - 2001 (Sports! High stakes! Sticking it to the Colonial Man!)

Mozart’s Sister - 2010 (Beautiful music! Gorgeous androgyny! GIRLS CAST TO PLAY THEIR ACTUAL AGE AND NOT SOME 20-SOMETHING PRETENDING TO BE FOURTEEN!)

Possession - 2002 (I’ve tried the novel, and A.S. Byatt has some beautiful prose but her structures sometimes do my head in, so never finished it. Ignore Paltrow as best you can and enjoy lush Victorian Gothic mystery and the ending is one of the most poignant things I’ve ever been pleasantly surprised with on film, and it leaves you wondering about many, many things…)

Jodhaa Akbar - 2008 (You could put Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in the worst commercial ever made and I would watch it. Costumes, scenery, and, as a friend once put it “I’m not sure how they did it, but they just had a sex scene without any sex.” Bravo.)

Water - 2005 (Deepa Mehta is such a fantastic filmmaker and I loved this whole trilogy but Water is my favourite.)

Elizabeth - 1998 & Elizabeth: The Golden Age - 2007 (The costumes! The caMERA ANGLES!!! The compli-fucking-cated mess that is Elizabeth I.)

[Okay Tumblr won’t let me embed any more trailers, but those ones are easy to find, they’re out there.]

Vatel - 2000 (Any foodie who is also a fan of The Sun King and his era will dig this one. A great score, baddie Tim Roth.)

Alternatively, in the same era: A Little Chaos - 2015. Storyline is a little weak, but it’s so beautiful and the cast is great and the M U S I C. Kate Winslet. Alan Rickman. Helen McCrory. STANLEY TUCCI.)

Also: they’re not films, but TV shows - honourable mentions to the Spanish series Gran Hotel. It’s like a good version of Downton Abbey, only sorta on crack and with a tonne more murder mysteries; and while I have some Issues with its so-called hero and some comparatively weirdo plot-points in S3, overall, it’s fantastic and I’m obssessed. Please don’t mix it up with the Italian re-make which looks horrible in every way. Like, main actors dressed in a poorly-sewn-table-cloth-bad.

And shout-out to the new CBC/Netflix series Anne. I will defend this show to the DEATH, alright? They’ve gone bolder and fresher and have managed to involve period realism in a moving way while retaining the sunshine-and-pinafores element that so many people love about L.M. Montgomery’s work. There’s heaps of women with production credits, and I think it shows. Geraldine James is already my favourite Marilla after one episode, and I feel like R.H. Thompson (HEY JASPER DALE HEEEEY!) and Amybeth McNulty are likely going to become my favourite Matthew and Anne, too. People have complained about this series going off-book and in particular some have condemned it sight-unseen because the writers/directors are putting a feminist spin on it and OH GOD THEY SAID FEMINIST QUICK WE GOTTA SET EVERYTHING ON FIRE BECAUSE CHILDHOOD IS RUINED, but honestly it’s just perky and gorgeous and scrappy and nobody can tell me to my face that Kevin Sullivan didn’t go all the fucking way off-book from the very beginning so I am not gonna sit here and insist that the Megan Fallows Anne of Green Gables was perfection which could never be improved upon because that’s just a plain lie. It was nice and it has its place but it’s time for some new blood. (And NOT the telefilms they’ve also come out with recently with Martin Sheen, bless his heart, but they took a brunette child actor and dumped an atrociously stark box of red hair-dye on her before drawing on her freckles and then telling her to please play everything theatrically to the back of the house even though there is a camera ten inches from her face.) I am HERE FOR ANNE. RIDE OR DIE.

AND NOW, FOR BOOKS!

After that you might assume my L.M. Montgomery recommendation would be Anne of Green Gables and sure I won’t say DON’T read them, but for my money the Emily of New Moon trilogy is more my jam and I wish to God and Netflix in all my prayers that there might someday be a decent adaptation of them.

I was really into Cassandra Clark’s Abbess of Meaux mystery series for a time, but then things went a bit pear-shaped in what I think was the fourth(?) book and everything was OOC and honestly I haven’t caught up on the later books after that and they seem to be self-published now but I am a sucker for nuns and mysteries so I’ll probably get back into it when I have time.

The Princess Priscilla’s Fortnight and The Solitary Summer by Elizabeth von Arnim. Vacation-reads! Beautiful prose, some wry wit, and fun hijinks. If you’ve ever wanted to run away and live in an isolated cottage in the wilderness for a little while, these are for you. [ETA: I recently got my hands on a copy of The Jasmine Farm so THANK YOU to one of you who recommended it I am loving it so far only I don’t see the appeal in Andrew so wtf Terry you can do better.]

Edward Rutherfurd’s geographical history novels–Sarum is the classic to start with, but the others I’ve read are very good, too. (London, New York, and I’m now working my way through a first-edition of Russka.)

Amy Levy. A M Y   L E V Y. Criminally under-recognized Jewish Victorian novelist and poet. Novellas Ruben Sachs and The Romance of a Shop. (RS a beautiful and bittersweet story about the conflicts between love, identity, and expectations, and some would say a response to George Eliot’s Daniel Deronda. TRoaS reading a bit like a less treacle-sweet variation on Little Women, where four sisters try to make their way in the world by setting up their own photography studio in late 19th century London.)

The Making of a Marchioness by Frances Hodgkin Burnett. Colonialist racism appears in this one, so be warned. Still the book is a THOUSAND times better than the utterly dreadful adaptation known as The Making of a Lady. Jane is better, Emily is better, Walderhurst is better, pretty much EVERYONE IS BETTER. The pacing is better. The plotting and suspense make actual sense.

The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy. A classic, and the grand-daddy of every secret-identity superhero.

The Forsyte Saga by John Galsworthy. Like, it makes me MAD how good these books are.

And last but not least, a non-fiction selection in Vere Hodgson’s WWII diaries: Few Eggs and No Oranges. Nothing else has ever brought the experience of living (or trying to) under the shadow of the bombs and the threat of invasion quite like these diaries. Fascinating details, engagingly written, and at times a stark reminder that the Allied victory we take for granted in our history could by no means be counted on by the millions who dwelt in daily uncertainty.
