so many feelings about this ship

anonymous asked:

what do you like about that huma ship?

literally everything!?!? they are just the cutest pair and are literally each other’s other half; they complete each other and they always have heart eyes for each other and harry holds uma’s hand and kisses it (i’m pissed they deleted that scene) and allows uma to hold/play with his hook and uma looks to harry for support and also looks out for him, they are just so dedicated to each other and  are so in love it hurts.

Please talk to me about the scrappy little gingers.

I just adore them both so much!?! They’re fierce and gay and ginger and frequently blood splattered and they look like mermaids while sneaking onto ships! And i love the parallels between them. They’re such survivors, they’re both so resilient but also so vulnerable. They’re so opposite in a lot of ways, but their core personalities have so many similarities. Like, I feel like of all the characters they’re the ones who, with the very select few people they decide to love, are the most fiercely and violently loyal… (and they’re both described by thomas/max as “true”)

They’re also the characters who deal the most with being labelled “monsters”. Especially in season 2 with their sort of parallel storylines about their queerness and their perceived monstrousness and the way they both struggle with their true identities vs the identities they present to the world… I have a very long list of favorite black sails characters, but those two are definitely the ones I feel the strongest emotional connection to

I just want to talk about this. I see So Many backhanded compliments to The New Crystal Gems saying like, “it’s nice to have some realistic Lapis and Peridot interaction without Lauren Zuke’s shitty writing cramming the ship down our throat” or something like that, and, like, it was not bad writing?? It was not out of character or anything. As somebody trying to recover from depression, I found that one of the best things you can do for yourself is to surround yourself with positivity and go through the motions, and even if you don’t feel anything, you don’t feel bad, and you start to get better, and that is very clearly what Lapis is trying to do. She’s just riding the wave of Peridot’s genuine excitement of exploring every intellectual inch of life she never even knew existed before and, sort of hoping that if she plays along, some of that happiness may rub off on her. She’s watching her Earth show, making meep morps with her, helping her decorate the barn, even making music with her, and she smiles. There are moments where Lapis just smiles, and that’s her trying. I love the toilet meep morp scene in particular, because during this scene, the same dark ominous music that always plays when Lapis uses her water abilities plays, but what she’s using them for isn’t something out of rage or desperation, she’s funneling that same power she only ever associated with negative things into something silly and pointless that Peridot thinks is beautiful and makes her excited. This is Lapis healing. Peridot is the medium by which Lapis is healing herself, and that is beautiful writing.

Finished ACOWAR and the only real thought I have right now is that Azriel, the infamous spymaster, the badass shadowsinger, my sweet lil’ bby bat, better find the love and happiness he deserves in one of the spinoffs because Azriel ‘Be careful how you speak about my High Lady’ is the real fucking mvp of Prythian

Why People Ship Reddie

I’m finally getting around to writing this post!! Thank you so much to all of you who messaged me (@richietozzzier @nikkiesea @coraz0n-delator @ardentverdure @fandomtrash2405 to name a few as well as a bunch of anons!). I just wanted to list some scenes from the movie and book explaining why so many people ship Reddie, so here you go! Please feel free to add stuff on :)

Movie:

- A good majority of the time when either Richie or Eddie are on screen, they’re interacting with one another. Not only do they have hilarious banter back in forth, it’s very obvious they also care about each other immensely.

- Richie is always seen worrying about Eddie’s well being and putting himself at risk to make sure Eddie is okay. During the projector scene, he grabs and hugs Eddie and rubs his back. At Neibolt Street, he holds Eddie’s face to calm him down/make him not look at Pennywise (despite the fact that clowns are his biggest fear!), he rubs Eddie’s shoulder when his hand gets cut. Just to name a few, there are many other moments in the film.

- Richie’s always using Eddie’s mom as the butt of the joke or playing his jokes off of Eddie (ex. when they go to the well, Richie asks Eddie if he has a quarter)

- Cute little moments they have together! Eddie getting Richie ice cream, them talking about something funny when walking into Ben’s room, being the only two that hug at the end

- Richie goes into the clown room (again, his biggest fear) because he thinks Eddie is in there. In reality, Pennywise is presenting himself as Eddie to lure Richie in. Pennywise shows itself as a person’s biggest fear, so at least for a moment Richie’s biggest fear is losing Eddie. He will risk everything to save him.

Book:

- Richie always calls Eddie nicknames, whether it be “Eds”, “my love”, or just calling him cute a lot. Eddie always says he hates it, but in the book he thinks to himself that he actually kinda liked it, too.

- Richie always making suggestive jokes to Eddie and winking.

- One day when they’re hanging out alone, Richie tells Eddie about all of his ambitions of become a famous ventriloquist as an adult. Eddie says he really admired Richie (although he saw flaws in his plan, since Richie’s ventriloquism wasn’t very good)

- Richie literally tells Eddie that he saw how cute he was the first time they ever met.

- In the book, too, Richie is often making sure Eddie is okay. (During the Rockfight, after it’s over Richie is the one to get Eddie’s inhaler and put it in his mouth for him, Richie is holding onto Eddie when they’re running from Henry and into the drainpipe)

- Stephen King literally wrote a scene into the book where Eddie is licking Richie’s “rocket” ice pop and it’s very suggestive and it does not seem like that’s an accident. All him not me.

- When Eddie gets his arm ripped off, his last words are to Richie. Richie is holding Eddie and Eddie is touching his cheek. His last words are “Don’t call me Eds… You know I… I…”

- The other Losers are sad about Eddie dying, but Richie is freaking out and sobbing and holding him. Richie tries to carry Eddie out and the others tell him to leave him. Richie nearly refuses to leave Eddie there, saying that it’s too dark and Eddie wouldn’t want that.

- When Richie finally has to leave him, he kisses his cheek before screaming “Fuck you, bitch” and kicking the door shut. When Bev asks why he did that, it says: “’I don’t know,” Richie said, but he knew well enough.” Take that as you will.

There are other things that make people ship them, including the amount of things in the book that point to Eddie being gay, as well as some moments they had in previous versions of the movie scripts. If you want me to make separate posts for those lmk!

On Shinso and Aizawa

No, this is not a shipping post.

So I have many feels about episode 20 of Boku no Hero, but one of the things I would like to talk about here, is the relationship between Shinso and Aizawa.

We see that Shinso has made it to the duel phase of the Special Olympics. And while his easily excitable friend is shouting about how weird it is that Shinso made it this far, Aizawa is basically sitting there going “I TOLD you guys.”
To Aizawa, the entrance exam was bullshit, because it gave a huge advantage to people with physical quirks. And Aizawa, of all people, should know this.
I mean. A young Aizawa wouldn’t have made it through that entrance exam.

Aizawa is a hero through and through. He has the heart of one. This man pitted himself against an overwhelming amount of villains, knowing he probably wasn’t going to make it. He literally put his own body between a coordinated surprise attack and his students in the hopes of giving them time to flee.
And he would not have been able to enter UA if he was their age.
His quirk is to shut off other quirks.
It wouldn’t have worked against the robots of that year’s exam.

Part of what makes the hero business harder for Aizawa than for, say, Endeavour or All Might is that Aizawa’s quirk is very specialised, and there’s nothing physical about it. He basically had to make up a new martial art using the power of scarves in order to also have a physical component.
There’s a reason that Aizawa is always telling his students not to be a one trick pony and that’s because he had to learn not to be one in order to even qualify as a decent hero. And he knows not everyone has to struggle that hard.
When you have a powerful physical quirk, it’s easy to believe that it will be enough.

So it’s not difficult to imagine that Aizawa recognizes a younger version of himself in Shinso. This is a kid with a Super Powerful quirk, who has some serious trouble finding the right little slot to fit in at UA.
Because that school is not adapted to accommodate his strengths and overcome his specific weaknesses.

There’s a panel in the later chapters where Aizawa is talking to Shinsho and you kinda feel like they could bond. These two have a lot in common, after all. They both have some sleep schedule issues, judging by the bags under their eyes, they both like cats and they share a common perspective on the world of quirks.
We don’t really know Aizawa’s background (yet), but it wouldn’t surprise me if he really, truly gets what drives Shinso.
And honestly, I hope he starts mentoring him. Because Shinso deservers better.

Hello, Katie McGrath snapped and ended her castmates in that last interview.

Not only she validated supercorp fans, AGAIN, but she also addressed that ugly thing that Chris said about your sexuality being what other people perceive it to be AND THE SONG. She was so done with all the singing bullshit.

I love her, she doesn’t give a damn, she just wants people to be happy and feel valid and she’s not afraid to address the topic head on. She is not uncomfortable with people shipping her character with another woman, unlike many other actresses out there, and she’s happy to talk about it.

(Also please look at Odette lmao, I don’t really know her but I’m starting to really like her)

You all asked for me to share my headcanons so here I am to deliver!! Sorry they’re super long and they’re also in no order whatsoever but here’s my take on otayuri and their friendship/relationship!

There are definitely a lot more like specific headcanons I have for them but I thought I would post what I have so far and the more world-building ones 😅

I’m actually thinking of maybe doing headcanons on this account too like you would request a prompt and I would write all my headcanons so let me know what you think!!

( @islysmiley i blame you for inspiring me to do this with our constant conversations about headcanons 😂)

Jay & Evie protecting each other

t’challa coming back to his room at the palace after a long day of meetings, finding his boyfriend sam already tucked into bed with a book that he puts down when t’challa comes in. t’challa quickly changing clothes and flopping into bed, too tired to say much but curling up on sam’s chest like a little kitten and falling asleep with sam gently rubbing his back and sam’s heartbeat in his ear

okay so, i’m really about to rant on the toxicity that’s going on in this fandom rn when it comes to the fans who write for the fandom.

recently, us writers (specifically ao3 writers) have been receiving backlash by anti shipping fans who have started this morale crusade basically going around and telling authors that what we’re writing is wrong and just giving us a lot of shit for it. it’s gotten to the point where multiple prominent authors have left the fandom because they’ve been harassed so much and many authors have expressed their thoughts about quitting writing for bts as well.

“shipping members is wrong and harmful”

how is it harmful when kpop idols actively promote their ships through fanservice and skinship? unless you see people directly tweeting at idols, there is absolutely nothing harmful about it. i’m also tired of writers being targeted and policed. writing fanfiction has always been an outlet for my emotions and i shouldn’t be made to feel guilty just because some self entitled fans think that they’re so morally right and justified and i’m tired of being told that i’m not allowed my creative freedom just because some people don’t like shipping.

well guess what? if you don’t like it then don’t fucking read it.

stop destroying creativity and what could be one of the only things in life that helps someone get through hard times. writing is supposed to be our safe space and our break from reality and sometimes it’s how we tell our own stories.

what right do you have to harass us like this?

I’ve seen a lot of ideas about humans being on alien ships, and most are like “because of [whatever reason], it would be good if ships had one human on board” and there are a lot of stories that say that there’s only one human on the alien ship. But I don’t think that’s a good idea?? A lot of people have a hard time being a foreign exchange student a country where they don’t speak the language; I don’t think most humans could handle being the only human on an alien ship???? For various reasons, like loneliness/medical issues/etc. Being on an alien ship sounds awesome, but they wouldn’t have any support.

Maybe aliens don’t understand THAT; “Despite being capable enough on their own, humans have to come in groups of 2+ for some reason.”

“Let the humans choose their own groups; their social systems are much more complex, and despite their famous ability to socialize with just about any other species, if two humans ‘don’t get along’, meaning that they cause each other to have unfavorable emotions and occasionally will not cooperate, the result is negative for both the humans and the crew that they reside in.”

Maybe something like this?

The first time humans and the recently-contacted alien species “X”, the first to form an alliance with humans, attempt to team up, everyone realizes that they need to learn more about each other. They decide that should should be a simple exchange of personnel; these crewmen would work simple jobs on each other’s ships and interact with the crew in order to learn more about each other and how to successfully communicate. Both humans and Xs desperately want this to succeed. But, hearing rumors of the humans’ prowess, the X want to minimize any possible casualties, so they suggest that they exchange just one person each at the start; one X heads to the human command ship, and one human heads to the X’s.

Everything begins successfully.

The X on board the human ship is a model worker. It observes, asks questions, and when it doesn’t understand something, many humans surround and brainstorm ideas on how to explain things to it. Throwing out ideas left and right “It’s a bit like seeing color, but it’s invisible, and through the nose-” “No you idiot, it’s like those feel-auras it was talking about, but the nose is the sensory organ for it-” and eventually the X understands. In turn, when contributing ideas not easily understood by humans, it finds that many take this as a challenge, and will not stop bothering the X until they are sure that they understand. But with or without the aid of its new crewmates, the X never seems distressed that it can’t understand or be understood by others.

The human crew quickly notices that the X has not contacted its main ship, or for that matter, anyone else.

“Have you tried talking to your ship?”

“There was no need to try, I already know it won’t work because of conflicting signals.”

“Well, did you need to? Talk to your friends or family or anything? I’m sure I can rig something up if you need to.”

“I have no need to communicate with anyone as of now. Any information that will eventually need to be communicated will be included in my report to the High Command.”

“No, but did you WANT to talk to anyone? Like your family or something, so they know you’re okay? And I mean, I’m sure you must want to talk about how weird we humans are and stuff, right?”

“My family will be notified of my status when I return to the High Command. And all data I gather on humans will be included in my report.”

The X, despite being so far away from home and surrounded by pushy humans, does not seem homesick or lonely at all.

On the X’s ship, the human is enthusiastic and excited to learn new things at first. After all, they’re learning about and interacting with ALIENS; it’s freaking awesome. But it doesn’t take too long for the novelty to wear off and the human to realize that they are truly alone. No one else speaks a human language, or is physically capable of doing so. While translation technology makes communication possible, linguistic differences make both exact or truly accurate translations impossible, so it’s not the same as being able to have a simple chat with friends. And chatting with friends doesn’t come easily; technology between the ships is not compatible, and any communication signals from the human’s own communication device are cancelled out by signals from the Xs’ ship.

The human becomes isolated from all other humans, on board a ship of 200 Xs.

Any difficulty communicating is eventually pushed aside and ignored but the Xs; if the human can’t communicate an idea, and the Xs don’t get it, what can they do? They do not need to understand the human or have the human understand them in order to do their jobs, so there is no point in trying. They understand that this project is important to the alliance, but do not understand how important communication is to humans.

The human has no help from others; several humans asking the same questions might get the idea that communicating certain ideas are important. But there is also no one who could understand them, no one to brainstorm ideas with:

“Now, how do we explain the concept of smell to a species from a planet where no organism has a nose?”

“Oh! My cousin was born without a sense of smell, and we sort of explained things like…”

Any problems communicating human ideas, or understanding X ideas, they face alone.

On that note, the human finds it difficult to to relate with any of the Xs. Xs can socialize fine between each other, but their standards for camaraderie is much different than that of humans. Humans are famous for their ability to empathize with any species, but it is not a two-way street, leaving the human caring about their new ship-mates with little care for themselves in return. They do not put more effort in helping the human understand, nor do they go out of their way to interact with the human outside of work situations. The human knows that it is not the fault of the Xs, that this is just the way Xs are, but they can’t help but begin to feel unappreciated, unwanted, and depressed.

Having long-since passed simple homesickness and culture shock, the human just wants desperately to talk to another human. It wouldn’t have to be anyone from the same country, or someone from the same field of work, or heck, even someone who spoke the same language. Even humans who can’t understand each other’s words can have get an idea from hand gestures, and historically, people who speak different languages that live in proximity to each other develop new dialects or learn to understand each others spoken language to communicate. Even with an age gap, they’ve lived during some of the same world events; they could find something to relate to each other. Another human would understand how strange X biology is compared to human biology, right? Another human could make jokes, laugh at the new, awesome, and weird things that they encounter. Another human could confirm that their feelings were real, right?

Humans are biologically engineered for socialization after all. Their species survived and evolved over hundreds of thousands of years because of their social nature. Xs understand this, and have heard that humans occasionally might have special needs like extraneous physical contact, but do not understand the implications. That this made humans biologically dependent on socialization for survival. That humans’ mental, emotional, and eventually even physical states can deteriorate without affection from friends and family.

And so the human gets ill.

Not quite used to human physicality in general or variation in physicality between individuals, and after hearing the legendary stories of humans surviving seemingly impossible situations, the Xs work their human crewmate hard. The human, already emotionally exhausted from isolation, easily gets physically exhausted. They contract an illness not unlike the common cold, though it couldn’t be given that their current location does not have any traces of the virus. With proper rest, and maybe more chances to chat with some friends back on the command ship, would help the human immensely. But the human, in their emotional and physical distress, can not communicate the idea that yes, humans can recover from illness like this without 5 different medicines. That talking to loved ones, or someone, anyone, would do more than just make them happy but give them the emotional will to make them physically well. There are no other humans around to explain human medical issues, or to provide a cool cloth for their fever, or to talk to while they’re sick in bed and unable to work, or…

The Xs change course and modify their signals in order to send a message to the human command ship and inform them that the human has fallen ill. Afraid of retaliation and wanting to ensure good faith, they request a strategy, asking what needs to be done in this situation. The human ship responds; the X on their ship has recently fallen ill as well. Xs do not have the hardy immune system that humans do, and while precautions were taken, it still caught a cold. The decision to return the crewmates to their home ships is made. The information that they managed to gather during their exchange this time will be used for a more successful future exchange and other interactions in the future.

The X suggests to their commanders more precautions regarding illnesses, and also advises any future volunteers to talk as much as possible to the other humans; they love interaction, learning, and teaching.

The human suggests that a special channel be created for easy communication, and makes only one demand; it doesn’t matter what the other species demands, don’t you dare let anyone go alone, ever again.

What about buttons/pins?

I have buttons. So many buttons. However I’m not sure what to with all of them! They’ll be getting updated for RCCC 2017 so these guys will need a home.

I’ve thought about including them on Etsy, but individually shipping buttons sounds..impractical. If you guys want buttons and have any ideas feel free to let me know!

Why do I always get more gratification from ships that go from “I fucking loathe you” to “hey maybe they’re not so bad I guess they have some redeeming qualities” to “holy shit this is my person” more than regular ships why is this trope so appealing to me

anonymous asked:

SOPHIE!! i don't have Twitter so i have no idea what everyone is talking about Tyren and camren and L's tweets so pLEASE update me, i want to know e v e r y t h i n g !!! pls and thanks❤️

Okay, so it started when Ty posted this pic :

In a way confirming his relationship with Lauren.

The fandom got insane over it. Basically people are calling Lauren an hypocrite for dating a guy like Ty, who is known to have questionable opinions on women and the LGBTQ community, when she’s a proud feminist and bisexual.

Now there are three types of “haters” in there :

1. The basic idiots, who don’t know anything about Lauren and who are just there to hate for pleasure - the real “fake fans”

2. The basic idiots who pretend to be “real fans” - often mistaken to be only Camren shippers when really most of them don’t even really ship Camren, they just want to piss Lauren off

3. The real fans, who are actually not hating on Lauren but are just worried about her and her decisions lately - but are still respectful about it - there are Camren shippers in there, respectful ones.

Anyways, earlier today Lauren lashed out in a few tweets about all the hate she was getting for maybe dating Ty

Until then it was okay, Lauren’s usual “I pretend that I don’t give a fuck but really I do” tweet - but then shit hit the fan when she replied to this tweet :

Once again, Lauren put every haters in the Camren shipper basket. Basically going back to the “sick pleasure” tweet she did a few months ago and once again not having any respect for the fans that are genuinely worried about her or other Camren shippers, like myself for example, who never bothered her.

Once again she made fun of a ship that helps and matters to a lot of people.

Once again, she’s not thinking about the consequences of her words.

And to further illustrate my point, she also liked this tweet :

There you go again, we’re the pervert CS who always hate on Lauren and imagine her having sex with Camila while we’re doing ourselves 🙄🙄🙄

Anyways, all of this hurt a lot of people - because Camren has a very deep meaning for many of us. So now people are pissed and sad because the artist we love, who is part of the community, who is supposed to represent us, is belittling us and making us feel guilty for just wanting to find comfort and representation in a ship.

The boku no hero academia fandom is so….so pure, god I have never seeing anyone complaining about the characters or the ships, reading the headcanons always make me feel heartwarming bc all the characters are beautiful cinnamon rolls, even characters we don’t know much about like Sero or Tooru, or Shinsou, everyone LOVE that kid (me too, he is so pure ) and he just appeared in the festival and a couple of times after that. How can a fandom love so much, so many characters, in so little time? It’s a bless :)

Mi…Mineta…? no, i don’t know who you’re talking about, that filthy name must NOT been spoken in this SACRED HOLY FIELD WHERE THIS FANDOM LIVES
