so in love with the wrong world

anonymous asked:

I like to imagine they were repressed in canon because of their time but in the modern world both Flint and Anne would be loudly, obnoxiously gay and love it. James owns rainbow patterned everything and Anne gets Jack to introduce her to people as "the badass lesbian". They're both so full of "Fight me!" Thomas and Max wouldn't know what to do with them.

please i’ll cry. i’d like to think so, though. esp james. i mean already in canon he launches a war against England & wouldn’t even accept a pardon bc he refuses to even imply that being gay is wrong. imagine a fully out james… he’d be unstoppable. & anne khbkhv she wouldn’t give a single shit about anyone, safe in the knowledge she could literally kick the ass of anyone who bothered her. modern au where they all work in an lgbt centre. Eleanor is the harried boss trying to organise things and run the place & is constantly stressed but is very happy. James leads a bunch of weird demonstrations and is in charge of fundraising things & activism (and Thomas volunteers part-time when James needs a hand). Max runs group therapy and some kinda weird art classes that are bizarrely popular. Anne runs a self-defence class twice a week (sometimes with Straight Ally Jack appearing as her demonstration partner, which pretty much entirely involves her slamming him onto the floor & hitting him in demonstrable ways. she claims it’s compensation for homophobia. he grumbles and rolls his eyes but shows up twice a week when requested) Anne uses the same room as max’s therapy group immediately after, and for the first 6 weeks max starts hanging back longer and longer after meetings until Jack loses patience with their flirting and tells them to just go get a drink or something bc he doesn’t have fifteen minutes to spare and wants the class over with as soon as possible. they’re all out and proud and Very happy thank you anon

Did you say cheesy? Cheesy is one of the words banned in my world. I’m tired of sincerity being something we have to be afraid of doing. It’s been like that for 20 years, that the entertainment and art world has shied away from sincerity, real sincerity, because they feel they have to wink at the audience because that’s what the kids like. We have to do real stories now. The world is in crisis.

I wanted to tell a story about a hero who believes in love, who is filled with love, who believe in change and the betterment of mankind. I believe in it. It’s terrible when it makes so many artists afraid to be sincere and truthful and emotional, and relegates them to the too-cool-for-school department. Art is supposed to bring beauty to the world.

it is so important that remus lupin, in his very first lesson, taught his young students to try and make their biggest fears more palatable with some laughter. it is so important that he made so many students feel safe and confident and free, even when he himself didn’t.
every time i think i cannot love remus any further, i prove myself wrong.

“DON’T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE YOU…”

Sora (or Sky)

I told myself I wasn’t going to do this because it felt like something that was forbidden territory, and I didn’t think it would work, but surprisingly his design came naturally to me. (Especially the hair). After receiving an influx of messages asking me to do my take on Sora (AND I MEAN A LOT OF MESSAGES) I figured I’d at least try it. So here he is. I based this outfit of the “World Of Final Fantasy” and “KH 3D” outfit. I wanted to show that you can put POC (Especially black people) in these kinds of stories and still get the same effect. It’s really not as hard as people think and it can be done without making them stereotypes or tropes. The “Key” is to have a love and appreciation for the core of who the character is. The essence of who they are.

In this drawing, Sora reminds me of my little brother, Julius. Its probably because of how warm his personality is and how much he doesn’t hold grudges and has a genuine love for people. Like Sora, He’s playful, but he’s got a lot of wisdom for his age. There’s an innocence to him, that I feel is prevalent here. I guess I subconsciously ended up drawing that here. Now that I think about it, He’s 13 going on 14 years old now, which is the age of Sora in the 1st KH. So maybe that’s why…. He’s also is a big KH fan himself. (That’s my fault) I guess, I’m doing this for him too.

And Yes, you can cosplay as this and yes I’m doing Riku and Kairi and a few others later. Don’t worry. Mkay. I’m rambling. Back to work!

Real Talk: Jackson. Appropriation VS Appreciation.

This is about Jackson Wang from Got7 wearing dread locks in a Chinese advertisement, just in case you haven’t seen all of the drama and people attacking him. (pictures below)

I’ll start off with saying, I don’t give a fuck that he wore dreadlocks. There, that saved you a lot of reading and time, so if you would like to unfollow/block me, go ahead. Agree to disagree. People want MY opinion on this, so here it is:

The way people are attacking him is all kinds of wrong. I’m ok with people explaining nicely about the history of dreads and how people can take an offense to non Black people wearing that style, that’s their opinion, even though some where being way too harsh about it but reading all the hate comments are disgusting. You would think Jackson got caught in an animal cruelty case (God forbid) or rape case (God forbid), so I’m reading twitter and instagram and saying to myself…what is happening? I’ve never seen K Hip Hop artist get THIS much heat and they wear dreads and braids on a daily basis, but when Jackson wears them in an ad, he gets so much hate and death threats.

“He’s so wrong”

“Educate him”

“He doesn’t care about Black people but he’s wearing our hair style” - Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know Jackson hated Black people..

Let me tell you something, I know people are going to hate me for my opinion, but they hate me anyway lol, so fuck it. I understand where their passion comes from, people hate that other races look up to Black people and want to dress like us, be like us, but at the end of the day they don’t want to be with us or could care less about us for real, I GET IT!. I get it, there’s a lot of people out there that don’t like us for real but wear our hair styles. I understand appropriation. I understand the history of it all. I’m proud to be Black and love my race, my culture and the passion we have.

And I also love that other races look up to our people sooo much that they want to dress like their favorite rapper, or try their style, the rappers themselves are even flattered and don’t care, they just love that they are looked up to and inspire people of all races.

Oh wait, my antil Blackness coon-ness is showing, let me stop! (sarcasm)

But personally, If people who are not Black wear braids, dreadlocks and they’re NOT doing it to mock us, profit from us, claiming it as their own, not a racist, and fucks with my people heavy and NOT doing it to degrade our race (like Jackson!), then I don’t give a damn how you wear your hair, bitch you can wear dreadlocks til yo ass 90, I do not give a damn, there’s some fuck up things going on out there in the REAL world of appropriation. Like this fashion show that was urban themed, gave them afros, braids, but there were no Black people in the show, obviously I was annoyed, because what are they doing? Profiting off of Black people and NOT giving any credit and claiming it as new/ their own. That’s the problem with appropiating. It’s stealing from one’s culture and giving no credit.

What is Jackson doing? Is he racist? is he claiming it as his own? Is he constantly doing it? Is he discrediting Black people and acting like it’s a brand new thing he’s doing?

What did Jackson do that SOOOOOOO MANY other non Black people do every day and are getting their hair braided as I type this. I’m lost as to why people are jumping down his throat and giving him threats and demanding an apology like he said “N*gger” or something?

This girl shared my inner thoughts on appropriation. (should watch this).

And also this.

^ He’s right!  What I said above, he’s NOT doing it to degrade or profit from our race. I said my thoughts before he even responded.

+ People are offended by his response saying he “is saying fck you to us, he doesn’t care about our culture, he doesn’t listen to us”, damn! what do you want him to say? Do you not see the hate comments he’s getting?, telling him to die, saying racial slurs, you guys want to play victim in every little thing so badly, there is NOTHING wrong with his responses, they are haters. He could’ve said worse.

+And “you are on the wrong page” he’s right! If you don’t like him and want to send him hate, then you ARE ON THE WRONG PAGE. If you have a problem with him, then don’t be on his page. don’t even click on it.

^HE APPRECIATES OUR PEOPLE!

HE’S INSPIRED BY OUR PEOPLE!

HE LOVES OUR PEOPLE!

HE LOOKS UP TO OUR PEOPLE!

The last thing on my mind is someone’s hair. I don’t know about y’all but I got bigger fish to fry in this racist world, and Jackson’s 2 minute twists are the least of the problem.

And I know they will say, “So who cares wrong is wrong, he needs to be educated”, HE IS! He knows about Black people, his role models are Black, so of course he’s going to want what they want, you guys are acting like he wore the dreads to be ignorant and racist and you’re acting like he constantly “steals” from our culture and profits from it, he doesn’t.

I’m out.

Here’s the picture:

Watch the haters come in 3, 2, 1…

“I had admired you from a far.
Felt butterflies every time I see you.
Blushed at the thought of your name.
And overthought every word you say to me.

It had taken me a year, which felt like an eternity.
To finally realize,
I was in what all humans fear,
What poets wrote about.
What could start wars and move mountains.
I was in love

We began to talk, and I felt light headed every time.
Felt my heart flutter every time you touched me.
Became happier as we got closer.
And nerves filled me when we flirted.

It took a while, but it felt like just a couple of hours for people to start noticing.
We were slowly becoming what young girls dreamed of.
What writers make up in fairytales.
What could make anyone the happiest or saddest person in the world.
We were in love.

Or so I thought.
Almost everyone thought…
I felt so pathetic.
I felt so broken.
I thought maybe we had something.
Something behind the jokes.
But I was wrong. I was so wrong.
And that’s when I realized.
I was in what people had nightmares about.
What left people in tears.
And turned the happiest people bitter.
I was hopelessly, pathetically in love with you.

Altean!Lance with a twist

So we all see the posts about how Altean!Lance is Allura’s brother, the prince, or even just a common Altean that holds no title, and we all love us some Altean!Lance.

But what about…………..Lance being Haggar’s kid? Like seriously how has no one thought of this!

Lance being born and raised to be a Druid, always following the empire’s orders, always doing what his mother wants to try and get the love and attention he needs; he even went through experimentation at the hands of his mother to get any sort of praise from her, which after everything, she only called him a disappointment of a subject. He trains constantly, both physically and magically for years, hoping that that would get him some sort of affection. He becomes one of the top druids, besides his mother, in the empire and if anyone were to try and take him on in physical combat, they would severely regret it. But After all those years of allowing experiments and following every terrible order from Haggar and Zarkon to try and please his mother, to try and get any sort of acknowledgement from her, he pretty much gives up. He knows what’s expected of him, and he knows that he’ll never get what he truly wants. He accepts that, and just considers it normal behavior by now. He knows the best way to please his mother is by following orders, so that’s what he does.
He’s 13 years old.

Now fast forward 4 years. He gets a new assignment. He has to go to some planet called Earth and infiltrate their government to see if they will be easy to conquer, and if any of the lions are there. Lance agrees without question.

So he goes down to Earth and easily takes the form of human to blend in, and he gets pretty much adopted by the McClain’s, who thought he was a runaway or a street kid. When they ask about his family, he plays it safe and says he doesn’t have any. So of course they take him in and begin raising him like one of their own. Lance is just shocked to see how this family treats each other with such love and kindness and understanding. And when that love and kindness get shown to him, he nearly loses his cool and release his form. While he was able to keep his form the same, his freak it was not so easily hidden, at least not in the the eyes of actual loving parents. They teach him about how family REALLY works. About how much loyalty and support and positivity comes with it. They slowly get him used to physical comfort and along the way Lance realizes that he doesn’t want to leave. He likes it here on Earth, where he’s actually treated as a person, as family. Not some soldier. But Lance is too scared to refuse his mother’s and Zarkon’s orders. He’s seen what they do to traitors and he knows that he won’t be given any mercy just because he’s Haggar’s son. But he also wants to protect these people that have taught him the truth about family and loyalty, he doesn’t want the empire to destroy this world like he’s seen with so many others. Lance doesn’t know what to do.

He goes outside to try and clear his head; which is where his mama (she refused for him to call her anything else besides her first name or mama) and asks him what’s wrong. He wants to tell her everything but he’s not sure if he can tell her; if she’ll believe him or call him crazy or what so he just stays quiet. Mama decides to talk instead, about how much they all love him, about how they’re all so happy they met him and took him in. About how no matter what life may throw at him, no matter how bad, Lance could always come to them. That’s how Lance made up his mind. He’s going to ignore his orders; even if that makes him a traitor to his real mother. He didn’t care. He was going to protect this family. HIS family.

He joins the Garrison to do just that. He plans on making it to fighter pilot and get through the school as fast as he can so he can protect his family faster. Unfortunately, Earth ships are primitive compared to Galran, so Lance doesn’t do so well and ends up in the cargo pilot class. Thus where he meets Hunk and befriends him (most of the effort was from Hunk) and gains abut of a rivalry with Keith since he had beaten Lance’s score by a few points, taking the last spot in the fighter class.

Of course then we lead into episode one, and the team finds the Blue lion, and meeting Allura and Coran, and if that isn’t a surprise to Lance, then I don’t know what is. Of course he still keeps his actual identity a secret, fearing what Allura and Coran would do if they found out who he really was. This is also where Lance is trying to figure out why Blue chose him. He was the son of a traitor to his race. He has helped the Galra in unspeakable ways. He can’t figure out why the Blue Lion chose him.

So Lance is now fighting against the empire he was once apart of, trying to undo the wrongs that have been done to hundreds of others.
All the while trying to hide himself from Haggar and Zarkon, at least for as long as he can. He knows one day, the beans are gonna spill, and it will not end well. But he’ll do his best to give himself some time to figure out how to tell the team the truth about himself and his past.

[HIP HOP TEAM’S MESSAGES]

Let me tell y'all punks something about ACOWAR (spoiler FREE I promise)

I LOVED this book for one glaring reason (that goes beyond how much more Azriel we got, but I digress).

That reason is the gray area. There is SO. MUCH. moral gray area in ACOWAR. Characters that I admittedly thought were PERFECT and could do no wrong did wrong. Characters I thought were pure evil did right.

SJM portrayed a beautiful picture of humanity in a fantastical world. Not one of us is morally right or morally wrong, point blank. We are MESSY, and so was every character in ACOWAR. MESSY. And she didn’t shy away from portraying them as such. The characters moved all over the spectrum of right and wrong and that’s just LIFE.

The gray area is a GOOD THING. Now is it going to incite a million and one arguments on this platform concerning the age old argument of “oh so and so did this when they should have done this because I say so and since they didn’t they’re A PURE EVIL ABUSER SATAN WORSHIPPER BLAH BLAH BLAH.” And that part sucks. But real people are messy and all over the spectrum. And so is ACOWAR and I LOVE IT.

savethelastklance  asked:

Ok Gay teen inquisitior coming out to their families and being basically kicked from it,how would the companions react?

Cassandra: “How dare you? You would abandon your child just because of who they love?” They get an aggressive scolding, until finally she scoffs. “You should be ashamed! This is your child, your kin, your baby… fine. They are part of my family, now.” she declares them as her own kin, and the Herald looks at her with something like awe. They’re still suffering and stressed from the aftermath, but whatever comes next, Cassandra will do her best to support them. “I hope you know it is among the greatest of sins in the eyes of the Maker to abandon your kin.” she warns their family coldly.

Blackwall: “What– what in the world is wrong with you people?!” he snaps. “You’ve got a lovely, wonderful child! Why does it matter who they’re interested in?” He tries to act sort of a father figure after all of this, and checks on them repeatedly. It’s going to be hard for them, but he’ll be there with them.

Iron Bull: “You sick motherfuckers.” he growls as Sera screams and shouts at them. “People like you– you’re the real scum of Thedas. You’re lucky I can’t strike you for this. So I’ll settle for this: they’re a Charger now, and if you ever try to come back with anything other than an apology, I don’t ever want to see you near this kid again.” He scoffs. “Come on, Imekari; it’s their loss. We’re both Tal-Vashoth now.”

Sera: She completely loses her temper, and has to be held back by one of the warriors– probably Bull, as he’s the only one who can contain her rage– and starts screaming and shouting obscenities and death threats at the Inquisitor’s family. “Fuck you! FUCK YOU! You sick motherfriggin’ shites!” she howls. “This is your BABY! You’re treating them like this just because they’re gay?! Fuck you all! They’re MY family now!” She spits on the floor before she leaves, and family is tormented for months afterwards by the Red Jennies.

Cole: “But why?” he asks, utterly confused. “Why are you kicking them out? They’re good, and they want to help. They’re perfect for family. I don’t understand!” Their intense pain hurts him, and it hurts even worse when he’s not sure how to fix this or heal them.

Varric: He bristles, then puts a hand on the kid’s back while scowling at the parents. “Come on. You don’t deserve this.” He pulls them away, and once they’re somewhere safe, he writes the most scathing letter he has ever penned and sends it off to them, warning them to stay away from their kid– at the end, it reads, “they’re a Tethras now.”

Vivienne: She takes the teen by the hand and ushers them away, giving the parents the coldest stare the Inquisitor has ever seen her give anyone. The only word she utters at them is “pitiful” and tells the teen privately later that she is more than willing to take them in. In the meanwhile, especially if they’re Trevelyans, she absolutely obliterates their social standing.

Dorian: He wants to pitch a fit. He wants to make them learn a lesson, to feel the pain he did when his own father did this to him, but he knows that the teenager’s safety is more important. Instead of even speaking to them other than a few choice Tevene curses and insults and an order to never speak to him or their child again unless it’s with a sincere apology, he takes their child away. The rest of his efforts are focused on tending to the teen’s emotional needs and ensuring with the others that they’ll always have someone to live with. He knows exactly how they feel, and he spends the most time with them afterwards.

Solas: He stares so icily it wouldn’t be a surprise if the parents turned to ice, but he knows better than to make the situation worse. He mutters an elven curse or two at them, several if they’re elves, and leaves. He does tell Leliana, though.

Cullen: He’s absolutely disgusted. “Maker’s Breath, what is WRONG with you people?!” he cries, and escorts the teen away, and warns them that if they step foot in Skyhold, they’ll be kicked out. He tells Mia about it later in a letter, and shortly afterwards, the Rutherfords are on Skyhold’s doorstep, asking where their newest family member is.

Leliana: They’ve made a mistake. They have made a dreadful mistake. “You will find there are consequences for your actions. Very soon.” she warns as she takes their child away.

Josephine: The look of horror and dismay on her face is overwhelming as she stares in absolute disbelief, holding a hand to her chest as if she’s been personally insulted. Silently, she takes the Herald by the hand and takes them away, and once somewhere safe, she sits down with them and talks with them about it. “If they won’t have you, we will,” she promises, “the Montilyets will welcome you as one of our own, always.”

2

Mary: Nothing comes before my family, not with me.                                     Arthur Ketch: Really? Or is that just what you want to believe? You’re different when you talk to them. Softer. Weaker. Not an insult, just an observation. But when you hunt, Mary… you’re one of the best I’ve ever seen. Now you might play at being the good mummy, but when you’re in the thick of it, nothing but a blade in your hand and blood in the air, that’s the real you, the best you. And I think you know it. And I think that scares the hell out of you.

12x13 “Family Feud”

10 Things I Loved About Mass Effect:Andromeda

Warning: Spoilers! And I wrote this on the spur, so there might be grammatical errors.

1.      I enjoyed the story. Yeah, people will say it recycles from the trilogy, but come on, people. Why are you surprised? Bioware recycles their plotlines all the time. It’s pretty much the same in all of their games. A protagonist gains special abilities and leads a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits team to defeat a big threat. And I’m not bothered by that. Sometimes familiarity in your franchise is good, just as long as you do new things to the formula, and I think they do.

What interested me the most was the theme of starting over. A lot of people in the Andromeda Initiative were former criminals or outcasts. The reason they joined was to start a new life, and it’s explored in the main questlines, the loyalty quests, and numerous side quests. I was worried about the game talking about colonization since humans are looking for a new home, but I was pleasantly surprised that the game made it clear that Andromeda is the angara’s home first, and humans and other Milky Way species will have to work with them. Thank god! No Mightey Whitey trope this time!

2.      Ryder as the player character. I honestly never thought I would love Ryder as much as I did when I played the game. Sure, no one will ever replace Commander Shepard, but Ryder isn’t meant to replace the Commander, rather show a different perspective in a new story. Commander Shepard is the hero we want to be while Ryder is more of a relatable character. Ryder has to learn through the entire game how to be a leader while going through the obstacles of their inexperience and youth so people will take them seriously. And it was compelling, uplifting, and at times amusing to see them become a hero in their own right and step out of their father’s shadow.

Also Sara and Scott felt like their own person. In the original trilogy, the player character is pretty much the same no matter what gender. But sometimes the dialogue can be different depending on if you play a male Ryder or a female Ryder. That’s because they are two different people who have had their own experiences and personalities. That really adds to the replay value!

3.      Female aliens everywhere! One of my major issues with the original trilogy was the lack of female Turians, krogans, and salarians. Sure we had asari an all-female race, and female quarians, but it felt weird that we met so many aliens with very few ladies. Not only do we get a female Turian squadmate, we also get plenty of lady alien NPCs gathered everywhere for random quests. We also have Kesh who works at the Nexus. And we get to see female salarians! And they kind of look the same as male salarians except with different voices. Thank god! It would’ve been horrifying to see salarians with boobs. Uh! And I’m pretty sure there were just as many female angara NPCs as there were males.

4.      The romances. Especially the queer ones. One of the things I love about Bioware games are the romance paths. Bonus points if there is a queer option. And as of patch 1.08, this game has the most number of queer romances in any Bioware game. I think my two favorite romance paths are with Sara and Vetra and Jaal and Scott. While representation for the LGBT community is improving in media, there’s no denying we still have a long way to go. And after again the crap year 2016 where we had a huge number of queer women characters die in tv shows, it was so wonderful to have a healthy and happy relationship between two women when I first played the game. And even if it wasn’t added until the patch, the romance between Jaal and Scott is absolutely sweet since we see two men show a lot of love and affection for each other which is rare to see in media.

5.      The Tempest Family. I adore every single character on the Tempest, and they really did feel like a family once you played further into the game. I am a sucker for found families, and to see these people who are trying to find a home ending up finding a home with each other just gives me so many feels!

Since there’s not really a huge crew in the ship like in the original trilogy when Shepard had an army of humans. In Andromeda, we have six squad mates, four additional crew members, and Ryder. And I think it made the family more intimate. It’s like our own little family lives on the Tempest.

Also I liked how there were more quests spread out throughout the game with the squad which I think was lacking in Inquisition. Plus. Movie Night is the best scene ever!

6.      In my opinion, the side quests were fun. I think this was one thing they improved from Inquisition. Inquisition side quests just felt like a bunch of fetch quests that got kind of boring pretty quick, and didn’t really add to the overall story. Some highlights from Andromeda were: Kadara, the angara reincarnation questline, the Turian jailed for murder, the anti-AI group, meeting Zaeed’s son, and those kids sending out a distress signal for a new light for their weed plant. HAHA!

They were compelling in their own right and included cut scenes instead of the Inquisitor going to some location like in Skyrim to do a thing come back to the quest giver saying, “I did the thing.” “Ok, good.”

7.      Unlike in Inquisition, there’s actual payoff for some of the quests you do. I don’t mean to be mean to Inquisition, I still love the game, but remember when we were promised that you had to build your forces up in order to defend against the main threat. Yeah, you built forces to get influence points to gain perks, and that’s it.

In Andromeda, while, yes. It’s not the same level as Mass Effect 2. When you actually complete quests and help out leaders, you can get different results during the final battle. Like, there’s a chance Captain Dunn may not survive.

Also, when you get 100% viability on all the planets, you get a special surprise on Habitat 7- being told that it will one day be habitable because of our efforts. Sure it was a side quest, but it just felt so rewarding!

8.      The climax was actually fulfilling and exciting. Again, something else Inquisition was lacking in. Seriously, when I first played Andromeda, I legit gasped when the archon was taking control of SAM node. The villain was actually living up to his threatening nature!

Just when we think we got everything under control, and are about to find Meridian, the Archon fucks shit up, and our sibling has to step up to save the day. Then we have to gather people we helped out and prepare for a final battle, and Ryder can finally prove themselves as a true Pathfinder and kick the Archon’s ass once and for all. People are saying the ending was as disappointing as ME3’s? Pfft…What are you even talking about?

9.      The angara. Bioware never fails to make me love an entire fictional species. Yeah, it feels a bit off that they pretty much have the same faces and the same 3 voice actors, but I really do love their culture. And I appreciate that they were clearly coded as POC while Andromeda didn’t go through with the whole Mighty Whitey Trope. The game wants you to respect their culture and to respect their home.

I love the angaran people are open about their feelings, I love how their religion believes in reincarnation, I love how we see angaran scientists, soldiers, merchants, mercenaries, and civilians. Also Aya and Hivraal are absolutely gorgeous!

And when Jaal finds out his people were created by the Kett, I was worried it was going to go the Dalish elves route, but Jaal points out that it doesn’t change anything about the angara. They are still their own people. And that was such an uplifting message.

10.  The overall light-hearted tone. I wrote a small post that got a good number of notes. (Probably the biggest number I’ve ever gotten), so to quote: “There was always this sense of hope and optimism about finding a new home. ‘Yeah, things may have gone totally wrong, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make them better’ was the overall message I got.

And really, with so many bad things happening in the world right now and too much of our entertainment supposedly being our escapism being dark for the sake of dark, this was something I think a lot of us needed.”

Mass Effect 3 had its light-hearted moments, and I love it, but man, that game was emotional draining.

It’s a bit discouraging to love something so much and get recommended videos on youtube pointing out the same flaws of that certain game, and why they thought it was a huge disappointment. Do I agree with some of their criticisms? Sure. Does the history behind the production explain the flaws? Oh absolutely.

But people seem to forget that the original Mass Effect trilogy wasn’t without its flaws. I mean, sure everyone can agree on the Mass Effect 3 ending, but I could make a list of all the issues I have with the other Bioware games including Dragon Age: Inquisition (which despite winning Game of the Year, kind of suffers the same problems Andromeda had).

So yeah, after the crap year of 2016, I was so excited to get a newly-released game that made me happy. And still makes me happy, and makes me in the mood to play another Ryder.

Wait a second - if Star Wars is in the past (”Long time ago, far, far away, etc, etc”), and we’re in the present, and Star Trek is in the future… does this mean we could have one of the Star Trek crews running into the ruins of an old jedi or sith temple or something?! Like, not even necessarily saying that that’s what it is, just a bunch of vague “The inhabitants seemed to be some sort of spiritual order,” “But also training areas for battle,” “The decayed remains of some sort of crystal-based technology” comments, just enough to have everyone flipping their shit because hell yeah, dramatic irony, we know exactly what’s going on!

Or, oooo~ running into SW civilizations, but it’s WAAAAAAAY in the future for them compared to what we’ve previously seen, so stuff is REALLY different, who knows what the Jedi Order looks like now, if it’s even still called that, like holy shit, imagine THAT first contact encounter! Imagine how much world-building you could do with both universes! Or throw in time-travel - ST LOVES time travel, and SW loves weird jedi shit (and has a fandom that loves time travel) and just- (flapping arms and uncontrollable excitement). IT WOULD JUST BE SO COOL, OKAY?!? Dang, what if Earth turned out to be some lost colony from the SW area of the galaxy and everything we thought we knew about history before a certain point turned out to be wrong, every single cryptid and fantastical being in our mythos could be based off some real species that got warped and misremembered over thousands of years of retelling like some insane game of telephone-

I woke up today and said, fuck the world! For all the girls struggling with stretch marks, rolls, love handles, fat, jiggles, everything that we are taught to hate, you know what we tell them haters? FUCK you! We have days where we hate ourselves so bad, but it’s only up to ourselves to take away that negative thinking. What is wrong with a fat girl being happy? So today, I’m going to love every jiggle, every curve, every particle of my body. I am going to love everything about my body that others had made me self-doubt my worthiness. My unapologetic fat Asian ass will be dancing, and there’s nothing more beautiful about that.
