Day 1 - Prompto Fan Week: Favorite Scene - Brotherhood
He pushes the sleeve of his coat up, staring at the black lines of the barcode. He just wants it gone, doesn’t want to have to live with it!
He starts scratching at the tattoo, breath loud in his ears, but the gloves don’t do anything except make the skin red.
“Damn it!” He hisses, dropping his gaze to the floor. His eye catches on a smoldering stick, just barely thicker than his thumb, and he gets an idea. A stupid, insane, terrible idea, but maybe, if he can burn off the tattoo…
Carefully, he grabs the stick and holds it a foot away from his wrist. The heat that radiates from the stick warms his skin, and at this range, it’s pleasant rather than painful.
six of crows is literally one of the best ya books out there right now it takes ya tropes but presents them in a smart and new and interesting way that comments on those tropes but also demonstrates how they can work without being cliche. you have a ragtag group of underdog characters who come together for a heist but each individual is so fleshed out and given a backstory that informs their choices you love every single one of the group. the series also has some of the best worldbuilding. its a fantasy world with magic but it focuses on a part of fantasy world we dont often see: the poverty stricken areas. there are gangs and gambling and prostitution that make the world seem real and gritty and gives it depth. it also is so ambitious in the Issues it addresses but does it in the most tasteful and beautiful way it makes me cry. there are discussions of trauma, sex slavery, agoraphobia, race, religion, class issues, learned racism, nativism, addiction, and ableism. and like none of that is even the main part of the story this is a heist book with magic and the most pure and beautiful romance and friendships … i cant believe this book is getting slept on i need a movie deal for this series asap so young people can experience it and learn about overcoming trauma in healthy ways i would die for kaz brekker by the way
summing up my obsession with @crispykrimi‘s sweater weather OTL this time also featuring the leggings, bubble butt, cattitude pyjamas, tea and Todoroki accidentally setting himself on fire, which is now my favourite thing ever
One sure thing that happens when you come out of the cinemas after watching Spider-Man Homecoming is the fact you have adopted a 15-year-old boy with superpowers and you want to love and protect him at all cost.
Peter Parker tries so hard and it’s just so endearing. This boy is so pure.
i am honestly so grateful for the way sistar ended things
like leaving long heartfelt letters, recording new songs and filming an mv that really shows their bond, performing on music shows a medley of their post popular songs, having a vlive in order to thank the fans
this is the right way of saying goodbye imo i am so thankful for these four wonderful ladies and for everything they’ve done so far
It was his stage and he’s so humble he sat down and recognized the magnitude of Stevie. It was his night but he’s so so humble he sat down and was the fan and recognized how amazing she is. He’s the artist and he’s still so humble he exalted her instead of bragging that he got Stevie Nicks to sing with him. I am constantly in awe of his humbleness and his heart and how incredibly good he is. Never arrogant, never full of himself, always recognizing the good in others… I am so happy he gets to have all of his dreams come true because he deserves every single bit of happiness he’s had and will have in his life.
can we just appreciate the fact that jamilla holds absolutely no grudge against sana over what happened. when sana said, “i was thinking about messaging you”, jamilla doesn’t say “why would you do that?” or “what for?”
she just says, “why didn’t you? what happened?”
like, i think that speaks volumes about jamilla’s character. her first thought is that of concern for sana. she’s essentially saying, why didn’t you feel like you could message me?
despite the fact that sana royally fucked up and invaded jamilla’s privacy in a way that caused jamilla to feel humiliated, jamilla is still there. she still very much wants to be a part of sana’s life, and wants to help in any way that she can. and at the end of that clip, she could tell something wasn’t right with sana. jamilla hasn’t spoken to sana in a year, and yet, after a five minute conversation, she can tell that something is troubling her.
[starts thinking about how for over 10+ years yuri was constantly pushing himself to grow up faster and to exceed others' expectations like when he was a literal infant he just kept telling his grandpa he could do better and he was fine without his mom and as a teenager he told lilia he would give her his entire soul and body to win but even that required him doing routines that he didn't necessarily enjoy and otabek is the only person who's never made him feel like he has to prove himself or be anyone other than who he is bc from the very start he's always viewed him as an equal and fully respected him so yuri can finally act his age and do what he wants to do and canonically otabek and yuri have a loving, supportive friendship that could one day set the grounds for a healthy relationship]
Am sitting here thinking about Kaltain Rompier and how Celaena hated her, and how they just fought and despised one another all the time. But Celaena was kind, and gave her a cloak, and that one act of kindness, that one act of friendship between two women, literally saves the world? Because Kaltain goes on to remember Celaena and that act of kindness and she thinks about it while she’s in Morath. And then Kaltain decides to do similar kindness, and burns part of Morath, stopping the breeding program and allowing Elide to escape. She does her part for the war. She gives Elide the Wyrd key because of the warm cloak in a cold dungeon. And Elide takes the key and delivers it to Aelin. And with the key, Aelin will be able to save the world. One act of kindness, between two women who hated one another, can save the world. It’s a beautiful plot line.
And it ties in so nicely with Marion’s sacrifice. Marion’s sacrifice, which saved Aelin, made possible the entire plot of throne of glass. it ensured that Aelin lived. That there was someone for Elide to give the Wyrd key to. That there was someone to give Kaltain a warm cloak.
Just. female friendship man. kindness from women. It gets me every time. *wipes away tear*
