ali getting tired of waiting fro ash to propose to she buys herself a ring and makes ash do it lol
Ashlyn and Ali were sitting across from each other at their dining room table eating dinner. They had spent the evening talking about anything and everything. Ashlyn made her way to the sink so she could clean up their dishes when they finished their meal. While Ashlyn had her back turned, Ali ran into their bedroom and was back before Ashlyn had ever even turned off the water. Once Ashlyn was done with the dishes, she pulled the ice cream out of the freezer and made her and Ali ice cream sundaes for dessert. Ali was seated before Ashlyn was. When Ashlyn put the ice cream away and grabbed her bowl, she sat back in her seat. Before she could take a single bite of her ice cream, Ali pulled a box out of her hoodie pocket and slid it across the table to Ashlyn without ever saying a word.
“What is that?” Ashlyn asked, even though she knew exactly what it was.
“Why don’t you open it and find it out.” Ali shrugged and took another bite of her ice cream.
Ashlyn smirked as she popped open the box. She feigned shock when she saw what was inside. “Ali, this ring is beautiful, but it really isn’t my style.” Ashlyn paused and used the hand that was holding the ring box to gesture at Ali. “But, it does look awfully similar to the ring that I bought for you almost a year ago.”
“Does it?” Ali asked trying her best to sound surprised.
Ashlyn excused herself and walked into their bedroom, opening the bottom drawer of her nightstand. She smiled when she saw that it was empty. Of course it was empty. Ali had just handed her the ring that had been previously occupying the drawer.
“So.” Ashlyn said as she sat back down across from Ali. “Don’t you think it’s a little strange that the ring that was in my drawer goes missing at the same time that you hand me an identical ring?”
“Well, I think the ring got tired of sitting in an empty drawer collecting dust.” Ali said as she rested her head in her hand, smirking across the table at Ashlyn.
“It certainly would be a shame to let such a beautiful piece of jewelry sit all alone when there is a perfectly deserving woman sitting right here that could wear it forever.” As Ashlyn spoke, she rose out of her chair and wandered over to where Ali was still sitting on the other side of the table. Ashlyn got down on one knee in front of Ali, grabbing the ring of the table and holding it in her open hand for Ali to see. “Alex, was this your way of telling me that it’s time for me to propose?” Ali already had tears running down her cheeks as she smiled and nodded her head.
“Well, message received.” Ashlyn and Ali both let out a chuckle at Ashlyn’s comment.
Ashlyn took a deep breath, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach. She wasn’t nervous about Ali’s answer, but she was still proposing to the love of her life. That was bound to make anyone at least a little bit nervous.
“Ali, I know I shouldn’t be surprised that you took my proposal into your own hands, but if I’m being honest, I thought that this would be the one thing that I would have complete control over. Obviously I was wrong.” Ali laughed and smiled knowingly. “But, I don’t resent it for one second. I have been waiting for the right moment to do this for almost a year now. So, here goes. Alexandra Blaire Krieger, you are the most amazing women in the whole world. I wake up every morning and pinch myself because I still can’t believe that you chose me, but I thank my lucky stars that you did. There is nothing that would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you. I can’t wait to adopt a puppy with you and have a bunch of little babies that we can teach to play soccer and surf-”
“They are taking swim lessons before they get to go in the ocean.” Ali interrupted with a stern tone.
“Can I finish, please?” Ashlyn said with a hint of sass.
Ali laughed and waved her on. “Please, continue.”
“As I was saying, were going to have dogs and babies and it’s going to be awesome! But, first things first, I want to make you my wife. So, Ali Krieger, will you marry me?”
The tears in Ali’s eyes had returned. “Yes, Ashlyn. Yes, I want all of those things too.” Ali kneeled on the floor in front of Ashlyn and wrapped her arms around her neck, pulling her in for a hug. “I love you so much, Ash.”
“I love you too, Ali. But, I think you’re forgetting something kind of important.” Ali pulled away to see Ashlyn gently shaking the ring box in front of her.
“Oh, yeah! I guess that is kind of important.”
“Kind of.” Ashlyn said as she grabbed Ali’s hand and slipped the ring onto her hand.
Ali looked up at Ashlyn with a gleam in her eye and a smirk on her face. “I’m so glad you finally got your act together and asked me to marry you.”
Ashlyn nodded in agreement. “Easily the best decision I’ve ever made.”
