I just rewatched the reveal again and god it hurts so so so much to see both boys so hurt and sad but then I kinda realized that even tho the episode is super hard and sad to watch it kinda makes me happy (ish) if you know what mean like there’s everything in it what I wanted them to say to each other. All the things we discussed before the relveal aired and it so fucking good to see it on screen. Seriously what an epic episode!!!!

Jesus had decided to drive them both back to Hilltop as it would have been too much of a risk to go back to Alexandria right away. Daryl knew that it was the right decision but he longed to see his family again, he wanted to give Rick his Python back. The colt had been with him for so long, it had become part of him, so Daryl was sure he would be happy to see it again. He was looking down at the weapon when he felt a punch to the ribs.
“What’s with that?”, she asked nodding towards the colt.
“It’s Rick’s”, he muttered back.
“Aaand who’s Rick?” She looked him up and down with an eyebrow raised. Was she annoyed or teasing? Daryl couldn’t tell.
“Our leader. He’s a good guy. Ya gonna like him.”
“Who says I’m gonna stay long enough to meet him?” She had a smile on her face but her tone was serious. Daryl couldn’t tell what she was thinking and it annoyed him to no end.
“Where else would ya go?”
“I’m free as a bird. Sky’s the limit”, she chirped laughing. “Unless, of course, you ask me to stay.” She grinned at him and Daryl couldn’t help but look away.
“Whatever…”, he grunted.

In regards to Hawkfrost having kids -- The boy would have been a lynx point, with a tabby dad and a colorpoint mamma. He'd have been absolutely gorgeous, and it's a damn shame that that lynx point gene is going nowhere. I mean, I'm happy the Erins didn't have another excuse to trot out the 'oh noes my dad was evil' character angst again, but still. Lynx points are stunning, and I wish there were more of them in the books.

Yes, I see a lot of people talking about colourpoint in this family, because of Sasha, and given the right circumstances, it would’ve been adorable to have had some point grandkids that would resemble Sasha~ I however wasn’t able to do so cuz I laid out RiverClan’s gene pool with little to no colourpoint in it. u3u It shall have to left up to someone else’s AU hehe. 

But yeah, especially given that so many lineages are inbred these days (read: ALL - and inbreeding in turn leads to more hidden genes popping up) it would’ve been interesting if these authors could actually, like, remember that there is such a thing as colourpoints and lynx points out there, and apply them again rather than just… do whatever nonsense it is they’re doing when they write.

so i have this disney playlist i listen to usually when i’m driving and i was blasting poor unfortunate souls this morning and i was thinking

what if ariel didn’t sign the scroll?

because she’s about to, okay, and she looks at the paper. the parchment made of seaweed, the ones that’s specially treated to survive underwater. and she thinks of her cave of treasures, her books that remain perfectly preserved underwater. “no thank you,” she says slowly, becoming keenly aware of air of this place, of the not-people she’d seen who hadn’t been able to pay the price for sea witch’s bargain. “i – no. thank you. but no.”

ursula tries to convince her otherwise, but ariel runs. she goes back to her cave, destroyed as it was by her father’s anger, and thinks.

she’s the daughter of triton. her books never got wet, though she lives in the ocean. she feels a pull inside her, to the land, to somewhere else, but what if – what if –

what if she doesn’t need the sea witch or her father to perform magic for her? what if she has her own?

ursula had wanted her voice because that’s how she performed her magic. singing in this cave had given it powers and protection, and when she saved her prince from the sea – she sang then too, to keep him safe, to guide him back to life and away from death.

so she has magic. she only needs to figure out how to use it.

so that’s what ariel does now. she’s quiet and keeps to herself, and her father and sisters think that it’s because she’s upset with her father, that she’s busy licking her wounds. she’s moved on from that. she has no trident, and is uninterested with fueling her magic with the souls of the damned like ursula has. so she needs to figure something else out.

she does what she’s not supposed to do, and goes where she’s not supposed to go, slipping past the guards and patrols to the one place in the sea that is forbidden to all of them.

the crevice in the earth where what remains of her grandmother lives.

ariel goes to amphitrite, and the sea goddess is so much bigger than ariel, the size of great whale as she curls at the bottom of the sea floor, too old and too tired to do anything more than sleep. “granddaughter,” the great being croaks, opening an eye as blue and as unfathomable as the sea, “you look like me.”

“they say i look like my mother,” she says, and to herself adds: that’s why father can barely stand to look at me.

“you have more of me in you than your mother,” she says, and she shifts and pulls her mass of red hair over her shoulder. “more of me in you than your father does, even.”

“i have magic,” she says, pulling her bravery to the fore as she swims closer to her grandmother, “i want you to teach me how to use it.” amphitrite pushes herself up, and it’s the first time she’s moved in a millennia, and ariel notices for the first time that her grandmother isn’t a mermaid – she has legs.

she has legs.

“you have power,” amphitrite corrects fiercely, “and i will teach you to wield it.”

and so she does. ariel spends her nights by her grandmother, learning to harness the power of the sea that runs in her veins, and sleeps her days away while her sisters and flounder and sebastian grow more and more concerned, but she refuses to tell them why. she refuses to be stopped.

but her heart still aches. she fell in love with her prince, and she wants him still. so she swims to the edge, goes to the beach where his castle resides in the dead of night when her lessons with her grandmother are complete, and sings

. she’s careful not to let any magic leak through, only her voice. she does not want to enchant him. she wants him to love her as she is. so she sings, her voice clear and powerful and cutting through the air. she hopes he can hear it.

then one day a figure walks to the beach, and it’s him, her prince. “hello?” he calls out, “are you out there? are you – please, it was you that saved me, wasn’t it? won’t you come out and let me see you?”

so she does, waves her tail at him until he catches sight of her and takes hesitant, disbelieving steps closer.

“you’re a mermaid,” he says, eyes wide, “i thought i saw – but it couldn’t be.”

“i am, and it can,” she says, heart beating wildly in her chest. he’s just as handsome as she remembered, and she wants him just as much. “my name is ariel.”

“ariel,” he repeats, and pulls off his boots and goes wading into the water, watching her to see if she flinches away from him. she doesn’t, and his strides grow bolder. “my name is eric.”

“eric,” she whispers, and when he’s close enough he touches her, trailing fingers across the bare skin of her shoulder and tangling them in her hair.

when he kisses her, she feels powerful enough to undo the world.

so there’s that now, spending her nights with her grandmother and her prince, and she knows how to make her own legs now, could walk onto land and be made a queen among the two legged men.

but she’s a princess here first, and before she can do that she needs to take care of something.

ursula.

the rotten sea witch with her rotten sea magic won’t be allowed to torment her people any longer.

she tells her grandmother, and amphitrite smiles and says, “an excellent decision, child. i’ve enjoyed our time together, but i think it’s time for me to sleep once more. i’ve taught you everything i can.”

and tears prick ariel’s eyes, but she holds them back. she knew that it couldn’t be forever, that her grandmother can’t die but no longer desires to live and this is the in-between.

“you’ll be an amazing queen,” amphitrite murmurs, and closes her eyes for a millennia more.

this isn’t something to be done in the dead of night, although it would be easier to do it then.

she will make a spectacle of it, she will remind the sea that her people are not to be trifled with.

once upon a time they feared a blue eyed, red haired sea queen with the power to destroy them all. it’s time for them to do so again.

so she drives ursula to the center of the city. her sisters cower and people hide, and her father comes rushing forward to save her.

“you’ve committed great crimes against my people,” she says, not flinching as lightning gathers in the sea witch’s hands, “so now shall a great crime be committed against you.”

“foolish girl,” the sea witch snarls.

triton is yelling. he won’t get there in time.

he doesn’t have to.

she doesn’t need to sing anymore. instead she lifts her hands and pulls ursula apart without ever touching her, not only renders flesh from bone but also sets free the souls she’s been hoarding, reverses the magic done to those who’d fallen into the sea witch’s trap.

they all stare at her, her people, her father, and her sisters. she looks to triton and says, “i’m not a little girl anymore.”

he opens his mouth, closes it again, then says, “i can see that.”

all at once everyone’s perceptions are turned sideways about their youngest princess. she commands a power that even her father doesn’t have access to, she’s not depressed and dreamy – she’s powerful young woman who knows exactly what she’s doing.

so she does what she wanted to do, she gives herself legs and steps onto the sand and launches herself into eric’s arms. she becomes his bride, and the rumors run rampant of what she is, of where she came from, but they can’t prove anything and so they rule.

they live long, happy lives. ariel is his consort, his advisor, his wife, his tactician, and his best friend. all those years reading drowned books have certainly paid off. she ages herself along with her husband, bears his children and then teaches them they ways of her – their – people.

her husband dies, and she disappears, like the stories of selkie women that everyone whispers around her. their children give their father a sea burial, and vow to see him again one day. what they know and none of their subjects do is this – their father’s body isn’t in that casket.

she returns to her ocean, her legs form into her glittering green tail, and she goes home. she uses her terribly powerful magic, and brings her husband with her. she went from princess ariel of the sea to queen ariel of the land, and now she’s back again.

she’s not quite a teenager, but neither is she the old woman she pretended to be on land. she’s returned her and her husband to the prime of their life, and as she gained legs to be with him, he now gives his up to be with her.

eric becomes a merman, and a prince by virtue of being ariel’s husband.

she returns to her family and her world without missing a beat, and they all welcome her as if she never left, treat her husband with kindness and respect.

because they all know.

it doesn’t matter that she’s the youngest. when, far in the future, triton’s reign ends –

ariel’s reign will begin.

“Sangwoo, can you come here for a second?” The boy looked up from where he was drawing in the back of the class and locked eyes with you. He was sat alone in the corner, away from the other kids and it broke your heart to see him like this. Sangwoo was usually active with the other kids and used to always participate in class, but lately he had been pulling away from everyone.

The boy cleaned up the items he had been using and he slowly got up from where he was sitting. The sluggish movements of the six year old worried you and a frown came across you face. His eyes seemed to be locked on the ground as he walked towards you, not wanting to make eye contact. The action seemed to be his way of hiding from you and you sighed, slowly crouching down to his height.

“Sangwoo, do you have something you want to tell teacher about?” You asked. You hoped the words would be enough encouragement for the boy to speak but the words he said weren’t the ones you had been looking for. You became even more worried as you heard the words that left his mouth and you wondered if something was going on at home.

“I’m not in trouble, am I?” Sangwoo questioned. His tone made your heart clench and you quickly shook your head, cancelling all fears of his. He seemed to calm down a little bit at the fact that he wasn’t in trouble.

that was hands down the best interview ever???? i’m so glad that he got to do his first interview with grimmy like they were both so comfortable and the interview was very casual and it was so amazing to hear harry just talking about his life and family and making jokes and giggling and he was so happy!!! and it was two hours but it didn’t feel like super long or anything??? it was so entertaining and engaging and he just came across as so humble and hilarious and down to earth and i’m just!!! this was so brilliant and i can’t wait for them to do it again when the album comes out and just more than anything it was so harry and i’m so glad for the world to see him for the beautiful soul that he is :’)

I can’t get over how tragic John Silver has effectively become by the finale.  There are two two lines that stay with me about the ending: Fuck him for dictating this outcome to me. The last scene between Flint and Silver foretells what’s to come for John- everything that Flint forewarns will have effectively come true by Treasure Island. John will reach a moment in which the life he sacrificed so much for will feel insufficient- and if we are to truly believe that ethereal, glorious Madi Scott will one day become obscured to a life as inn keeper or if, perhaps more realistically, she simply will have to live her life with the constant what if of having accomplished abolition, I think we can see how the life Silver afforded them will feel too small, too suffocating for them both. 

The other line is when Silver raises a gun to Flint, saying that the cycle of choosing between lives, aspirations, and loves has to end. When I see that shot of Silver standing on the cliff where he and Flint once trained, my chest gets tight with the tragedy of it: with how much Madi loves Flint and will never see him again, will never have had gotten to say goodbye. with how much Silver loves Flint and will have to live with the fact that ending the cycle of Flint’s war meant choosing between loves all the same. One day, I think, Silver will realize the world was wide enough for all of them, if he didn’t realize it in that moment where Madi still anguished even after hearing what became of Flint and (god bless Luke Arnold) Silver looks as if the world has come crashing down on him. He’ll always feel that a part of his mind is shared with Flint, that a part of his heart is still truncated in the thought of him. He’ll stand by that cliff often and he’ll look out into the thin, crisp line where sky and ocean meet and he won’t be looking for Nassau. He’ll be looking for Flint. He’ll be aching with the string of his sacrifice, of having been too blinded to strive towards a different end.

Madi will carry Flint in every book she loves. Madi will remember him in her own ambition, in her own zealousness. When the world isn’t as it should be, as it could’ve been, she’ll remember him. When she commands her people or speaks to them with authority, she’ll think of all the people who contributed to her ability to lead: her father, her mother, and a close and precious friend. 

So, for me, the tragedy of Silver isn’t just that one day he’ll be doomed to become a corrosion of Long John Silver, with a boy named Jim Hawkins desperate to understand. The tragedy isn’t just that Madi, like Silver, may have to contend with obscurity and the loss of power as he does, perhaps more so than he does. But it’s that their hearts will always ache for the man who toils far across the sea, reunited at last with his love. There will always be a place in thier hearts where Flint’s memory will stay, where they’ll miss him, where they’ll wish Silver had found some other alternative than to keep Flint and Thomas so far away. Silver is always going to go back to that cliff and the degree to which he fucked up will have to be something he lives with. He didn’t want to continue a cycle of war where he would have to negotiate between loves, between happinesses, but he does. He has and it’s a decision done in love. A part of him, I think, will never stop loving and longing and mourning for Flint, for the loss of him, for the pain of never seeing him again. But Flint will be with Thomas, happier than he ever imagined to be, happy as Flint deserves. and Silver will go on thinking that his decision woke James McGraw from a long and terrible sleep. And so the decision comes to this. If you love someone, set them free. 

Looks like Gorillaz are now living in the Spirit House. (Which I’m not surprised) The house reminds me of Kong Studios back in Phase 1 and 2. They all look like a happy family again. I like how we’re seeing a lot of new group photos of the band lately. It makes me really happy! Seeing them watching their new music and being so proud of it is so sweet! <3

We all know that Lance is homesick and we were shown just how far away they were from Earth at one point. But something that hasn’t been considered is that time is passing differently for them than it is on Earth. A good representation of how this is is in Interstellar, when the main character’s youngest sends him a video, something that she refused to before and only decided to do because it was her birthday. The birthday marking her the same age as her father. Another example of this is if you take a clock and you do one revolution around earth the time on the clock is different than the time on the clocks on Earth that would have previously been running at the same time. I don’t know the exact science so that might not be exact.

So like… I have an idea for an au where Lance’s family is devastated when they find out, and Lance’s 13 year old genderfluid sibling is like ‘I want to go to the Garrison’ and Lance’s parents and everyone else are like 'No, we just lost Lance, why would you want to do that’ and the sibling is like 'Lance’s dream was to make it to space and if he couldn’t get there in his life time then I’m going to do this for him’ so they take up engineering and physics to try to get into the Garrison. They try to get in at age 14 and don’t, but try again at 15 and do. They get an opportunity to be a pilot because someone quit. They have to deal with Iverson and he’s like 'You’re just like your brother, useless, a replacement because someone else isn’t here’ and they realise that this would have fuelled Lance’s anxiety and he never told any of them. They make it their personal mission to be problematic, but also the best in their class. Like, insulting Iverson everyday, becoming 50000000% more petty and salty, and even at one point challenging him to a rap battle. On a separate occasion they somehow manage to barge into a staff meeting to shout that at Iverson that he verbally abused and degraded their brother’s mental health and worsened his anxiety, before presenting a petition signed by the whole student body and some parents to get Iverson fired. Iverson is fired. After a few years the Kerberos mission is being rebooted. At age 19 they are chosen to pilot. They tell their family that they’re finally getting to see space. The team includes Mrs Holt, who had stepped up to engineering again, and another woman. They get to Kerberos, and a few weeks into their mission the Galra resistance group who rescued Matt arrive, to check that the area is still free of the Galran Empire. Mrs Holt is so happy, but also, her son looks the same way he did when she last saw him 8 years ago, though more buff, scarred and tired. The sibling convinces them to let them come with them, and when Matt explains that Mr Holt is still out there Mrs Holt is like 'There is no way that you’re leaving me behind, the communications officer is like 'The government adopted me when I was 12, and they passed me off to the Garrison immediately, two years before they were legally allowed to so I don’t have much back there, I’ll come’. The Galra resistance group meets with the Blade of Marmora to form an alliance. They then meet with Voltron. The meeting is first with Allura, then the paladins of Voltron are introduced, minus Shiro because he’s missing. There are the obvious reunions.

Matt: What the f-

Matt: Mum, I’m fighting in a war and I was a slave for a year, let me swear.

Sibling: In America maybe. But we live in Australia. So. Whenever I went home I got to drink. Because I was also at the Garrison from a program/branch thing in Australia I was bound by Australian rules so I was legally considered an adult and allowed to pilot the second Kerberos mission.
Matt: But more importantly. You think I’m hot? *bats lashes at Lance*
Sibling: Right, how could we forget about that beautiful gem.
Lance: How could you do this? Betrayed by my favourite little-what is is sibling? Sister?
Sibling: Sibling.
Lance: How could I be betrayed by my favourite little sibling?
Sibling: Well first of all, I’m only your favourite until Freya or Maria is in the room and suddenly you’re not allowed to have favourites, and second, you may have been born before me but I’ve lived longer than you so I’m the older sibling now.
Lance: All around me are familiar faces, worn out places-
Allura: We are currently searching for our black paladin, Shiro, which is why we wanted meet with you, aside from solidifying an alliance.
Matt: Wait, you mean Shiro like Takashi Shirogane?
Keith: Yeah. He’s missing and we can’t form Voltron without him.
Matt: You must be Takashi’s emotionally constipated adopted child-I mean adoptive brother. But more importantly, he couldn’t even be here to meet me! My boyfriend’s such a *stares directly at Mrs Holt* goshdarned flake.
