so glad he was able to get that standing ovation

The 2012 World Championship would not have happened without this man, #75, Barry Zito!

“You guys, I just want to say that I still remember where I was when I got the text message 7 years ago saying that this deal was gonna happen, and I knew I was in for a lot but I didn’t know that I was in for this much.  It ended up being just the most—it’s so hard to a put a word to it—eventful 7 year stint of my life thus far.

On the field and off the field I’ve been through so much and you guys have been there the whole time.  I feel like we’re all a big family here and regardless of what happens going forward, every time I set foot in San Francisco, I’m gonna feel like a brother to you all.

I just gotta say, coming here, this is an absolute first-class organization.  The way it operates, from the top down to the bottom and everywhere in between, they strive for one thing here as a San Francisco Giant, and that’s excellence.

I know you guys are in for a whole lot of better times than we’ve even had these last few years, and I’m looking forward to watching everything. Love you guys, thank you so much!”
