Hey, can you help me pick out a new record player? I'm not sure what the good ones are of anything. Any suggestions?
Surely! DO NOT GET ANYTHING THAT HAS THE NAME CROSELY ON IT. If it’s not for the sheer lack in manufacturing then it’s the fact that the sound is godawful. They knobs are cheap plastic, the needle is plastic (ruins records), and the sound is tin-y and hollow. My parents bought me a Crosely for my birthday two years ago and it broke in the first twenty-four hours after all I did was carry it upstairs.
I have an Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt Driven Turntable. It works great so far. The set up is a bit confusing but doesn’t take much time. Any good record player DOES NOT have built in speakers so you’ll have to get a receiver and speakers. My dad had old ones sitting around so I just used those but they don’t run that expensive depending on size. I know a lot of people have walked into some thrift stores and found really cool record players that work great so check that out too because you can save a lot of money.
((I published this because people have asked in the past))
