I wonder what the professor is cooking up.  I guess the chef knows since he does have the Turkey or Chicken in his hand.

this drawing is from Harry Edwood, it was drawn on a menu card for the meal of “Les Amis de Hergé” in Nivelles March 1, 2014. On the bottom is what they had for dinner/lunch.

you know stuff like this make me really wish Hergé gave his legacy to Mr. Edwood or Mr. Bob de Moor or heck even Rodier. because these guys capture tintin and friends very well.

Shelter-Pt. 14

Sidney goes through the house checking the doors and windows, makes sure everything is locked, blinds are down, curtains are pulled tight.  He makes one round and then another.

After the third time checking he allows himself to rest, just for a moment.  Mom is in bed, everything is locked and they are safe. They are safe and he can rest for just a minute.  He leans back against the door and lets himself close his eyes. Just for a moment.  Lets his shoulders slump, for just a moment.

That’s when he hears the car door and tenses, cowering behind the door. Please don’t let it be him. PLEASE!

But it is. It always is.

Sidney picks up the bat and runs towards Mom’s room.  He tries to throw open her door but it’s locked.  “Mom?  Mom!  You have to call the police, Mom! He’s here! Mom!”

“It’s okay, Sidney.”  Her voice floats from the other side of the door, seemingly unconcerned and that—why won’t she ever just LISTEN to him?!

“Mom, no, he’s here! Troy’s here!  He…”  Sidney trails off as he runs back to the living room and draws up short because Mom—Mom is there, smiling at Sidney as she reaches for the door.  She’s going to let him in and he can’t let her do that.  “Mom, NO!!  It’s him and he’s going to kill us! PLEASE!! Please don’t let him in!!”

Mom hesitates, seeming to think about his words. She looks at the door and then back at Sidney.

Sidney’s lip quivers.  He doesn’t want to cry but there’s no stopping it and he pleads with her in a whisper as tears spill down his cheeks, “Please. Please.”

Mom furrows her brow and looks at him so carefully before finally nodding.  “Okay, baby.”

Sidney runs into her arms and revels in the feeling of safety.  He wants so badly for it to last, for it to always be this way.

“Shhh,” she shushes him. “It’s going to be okay.”

He shakes his head over and over because he wants to believe her so much but…

“What the FUCK, Trina!”

Sid gasps and startles back.  He sees Troy standing there, looking more enraged than he’s ever seen him and his blood turns to ice in his veins. No! No no no! How…how did he…?

Troy turns his gaze on Sidney and offers up a cruel smile as he begins pacing towards him. “If you hadn’t come along, none of this would have ever happened. You’re nothing but a fucking disappointment, a failure!”  And Troy lunges at him and Sidney cries out because he locked the doors.  He locked the fucking doors! How can this be happening? Sidney tries to get out the front door but it’s locked and he can’t get it open no matter what he tries and he’s sobbing now, begging Troy not to hurt him all the while Troy is stalking towards him; ignoring Trina’s pleas, ignoring Sidney’s pleas.  And Sidney knows that Troy won’t stop.  He’ll kill him this time and…

Nevado de Toluca “Xinantecatl” (Náuatl: naked man), Volcano located in the State of Mexico- Among the highest peaks in the region, the long-extinct volcano Nevado de Toluca (also known as Xinantécatl) is Mexico’s fourth-tallest peak. Nevado has two summits on the crater rim. The lower summit, Pico del Aguila (4620m), is closer to the parking area and is the more common day hike. The main or highest summit is called Pico del Fraile (4704m) and requires an additional three to four hours of hike time.

The earlier you reach the summit, the better the chance of clear views. The crater contains two lakes, El Sol and La Luna. The summit area can be snowy from November to March, and is sometimes good for cross-country skiing, but the Parque Nacional Nevado de Toluca is closed during the heaviest snowfalls. On October 1, 2013 the Mexican government redesignated the national park a zona protegida (protected area), legalising and legitimising the unregulated mining activity that had been going on there. Most people still continue to call it a national park.

Frost’s “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening” published on this date

On this day (7 March) in 1923, The New Republic published Robert Frost’s poem “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening.”

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Push Ups with Kid March and Monsieur December

A fan animation of Uncle Snowy’s adorable characters based on Months. (Yes, as in the calendar months.) There’s no audio, though. Sorry! Maybe if I have more free time I’ll come back and tweak it.

Please check out Uncle Snowy’s menagerie of Month OC’s. They’re more fun than a pillow fight!

Bucky didn’t want to go to the party, he had begged Steve not to make him go.

He got that Steve was doing his best to patch things up with Stark, but it was so different for him, he didn’t get the dirty looks, he didn’t get the hushed whispers, he didn’t get people avoiding him like he was some ticking time bomb who could blow at any moment.

Or worst still were the ones who only tolerated him because of Steve. Who only gave him the time of day because of who he was to Steve, but didn’t bother to hide the contempt behind their eyes.

And so here he sat, whilst Steve was working the floor, laughing easily with his friends and Bucky sat sipping on some drink that Steve had said was from Asgard, said it would take the edge off but Bucky had smirked dryly, he was sure it would take a lot more than one to take the edge off but he appreciated the gesture.

Steve had eventually given up trying to make Bucky socialise, but continued to throw glances his way, forever keeping an eye on him and no part of Bucky was resentful of Steve, he was sure this would all become easier to him with time, Steve had just had a little longer to adjust to this world and Bucky would too, with time.

He decided some air would do him good and slipped easily out to the balcony, the twinkling lights of the city were beautiful and he smiled to himself you would have loved it here, and oh, there was that familiar sinking feeling in his stomach when he thought of you.

The guilt.
