I’ve always been a firm believer that both Jon and Dany are the prince that was promised and during the episode I got confirm of it and that’s why: it’s all about the Valyrian word. Like Missandei said it’s gender neutral and it translates as both prince and princess. That’s it, in the prophecy they used one word to indicate two things at the same time because the word can be applied to both. This way there’s no need to repeat it twice. If you think about it it’s so obvious.
Just wanted to add, for those who believe that only Jon is the Prince that was promised: you’re ignoring the most obvious hint that points towards Daenerys: “He/She shall wake dragons out of stone.” That’s Dany, there’s no way to deny it.
For the people thinking that Dany is The Princess That Was Promised obviously don’t know that she had to be born under a bleeding star and had to have come with a song of ice and fire.
It’s obviously Jon, since Ned left the sword “Dawn” at the foot of the bed where Lyanna was during childbirth. “Dawn” was a sword owned by Ser Arthur Dayne, the guy that was an excellent swordsman but was stabbed in the back by Ned’s men and finished off by Ned himself. The sword was created by a meteorite, a “falling star,” and taken by Ned after Arthur was killed. And when Lyanna was dying during childbirth, the sword was laid against the foot of the bed where Jon was born. I mean, there was a DIRECT SHOT that FRAMED the sword being laid there ON PURPOSE.
Also, it makes sense since Jon IS the song of ice and fire. He is half Stark AND half Targaryen.
So, I don’t know why everyone is busting a nut over Missandei’s translation when it still doesn’t apply to Dany. Yeah they’re going against the books somewhat, but the evidence still lies there.
