This one is packed with immune-boosting nutrients, and is easily made in a blender!
Ingredients (all organic):
1 piece raw ginger, peeled and diced
1 apple, sliced
1 cup celery, chopped
1 kiwi, peeled and halved
½ avocado, flesh only
3 (unpacked) cups kale or spinach leaves
Juice of ½ lemon
16 ounces pure water
To make in a blender:
Add water, ginger, celery, kiwi, lemon juice, and greens to blender. Pulse until greens are chopped (10-20 pulses). Start blending on low and add rest of ingredients, one at a time, increasing speed as needed until the highest speed setting and blend for 1-3 minutes until liquid. Pour into your favorite cup (finished it’s about 25 ounces).
Because this smoothie has healthy vegetarian fat and protein, it is a complete meal. I had it for lunch today and feel bright, energetic, and warm inside (thanks to that ginger)!
Green smoothie - water, almond milk, fresh pineapple, 1 fresh pear, one fresh orange, a huge handful of spinach, one banana and a big nob of ginger.
Salad - iceberg, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, a hard boiled egg, avocado, cress, spring onion, British garden peas, seeds, Cous Cous & vegan baked falafel (carrot and chickpea). Oh and a dollop of natural yoghurt with curry powder and lemon juice stirred in ☺️🙏🌻
I am a chocolate fiend. Add cherries and/or coconut and you need to gtfo of my way because I want it I need it gimme gimme GIMME. That being said, I never eat blocks of chocolate and only indulge every now and then because I can’t stand the sweetness, it destroys my chocolate eating experience and gives me pimples. GROSS. If anyone knows of any chocolate which has a super low sugar content HIT ME UPPPPPP.
This morning I had a craving for chocolate. It should also be noted that when I crave something, it doesn’t stop until I satisfy that craving. It could literally be months and I’d still be craving that combination kebab with extra garlic sauce.
Anyhow, I’m trying to get into the habit of eating breakfast, and smoothies have been really great for this. For some reason it didn’t even cross my mind that I could have a chocolate smoothie that was HEALTHY. Wtf is this sorcery?! Well, here it is, my cherry ripe smoothie.
10 frozen cherries
10 frozen raspberries
½ frozen banana
1 tbs cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
1 dried date
1 tbs greek yoghurt (I use chiobani)
1 tsp honey or organic maple syrup
Whizz the shit out of it in a blender, bullet, ninja, whatever the heck you use.
Top with shredded coconut to make it look pretty. Enjoy!
Green Smoothie! Might not look pretty, but this is definitely my new go-to breakfast!
Blend (I used a NutriBullet):
1 big handful of de-stemmed kale 1 big handful of spinach A few raspberries and blackberries Scoop of protein powder (I used Quest) Scoop of Light Activia Greek yogurt Splash of heavy cream 3 ice cubes 1 tsp chia seeds &/or hemp seeds Unsweetened coconut milk
To my surprise, this tastes NOTHING like spinach or kale, is very creamy, doesn’t need any added sweetener, and is filled with protein, healthy fats, and Omega3’s! Perfect way to start your day!
About 5g net carb total (if you go easy on the berries! You only need a few!)
