Imagine Loki seeing a small boy being bullied and anger engulfing him, so he uses his seidr to make the bullied boy able to fight back and defend himself with apparently super strength and speed. Thor sees him do this, which he is not allowed to do under his punishment for his crimes, but he says nothing.
Imagine young Loki being followed around by a small creature that he rescued in the forest, it follows him back to the palace and though he does not want to, he grows attached to it and decides to keep it, but Odin has a clear rule, no animals permitted in the palace, leading to Loki having to be very careful to ensure it is not found out.
Summary: Fairy Tale AU. Reader is the child of Steven Rogers, the King of a poor land about to be attacked by a dragon. They call upon the Trickster, Loki, for protection. But is the price of his help too high for him to pay?
Pairing: Loki x reader
Warnings: None really, might be light swears, I don’t remember.
A/N: Uh… so this might be a series if people like it… In the title Beasts is correct, it’s plural for a reason, but it’s not revealed in this chapter. So yeah… Oh and it is kinda supposed to be a Once Upon a Time ish story.
It was a sound like thunder from the north. The outskirts of the kingdom were ablaze and the king had called council with his best knights and advisors. His daughter sat quietly on a throne next to her mother. The young girl glanced around at the knights.
There was the Sir Thor, known as the Knight of the Storm. He came from somewhere unknown. There was Lady Romanoff, she was strong and had a quick wit. She may have even been the very best of the guard. Romanoff was often seen with the archer, Clint Barton. He never missed a shot and had the sharpest eye of all the knights. Lastly there was Y/n’s betrothed, Anthony Stark.
Stark was cocky, but smart. He was was inventive and could work his way out of any problem. Of course he was handsome, but Y/n did not love him. Unfortunately Sir Stark seemed to fancy the idea of trying to win her affections with flirting and daring acts of foolish bravery. Neither of them had a say on the matter of marriage, King Steven had planned their betrothal the day his daughter was born.
“Your Highness, why do you not send forth your knights?” Anthony Stark asked irritably from his seat.
“You may be a great swordsman, Stark, but none of you are a match for the dragon.” The king replied.
“What will you have us do?” Asked Lady Romanoff. “Sit and watch as the innocent die?” The King sighed and one of the advisors cleared his throat.
“May I make a suggestion your Highness?” Bruce Banner was the foremost royal advisor, as well as the royal family’s doctor. The king nodded for Bruce to continue. “Sir Thor… Your adopted brother is a sorcerer, is he not?”
The council was in immediate uproar once the question left Banner’s lips. Thor did indeed have an adopted brother, but he was full of black magic and evil illusions.
“How dare you even think to ask The Dark One for assistance.” Said Sir Barton. “You know magic always comes with a price.”
“The Trickster cannot be trusted. He would take what he wanted and leave us to die.” Said Stark. While the Knights argued with Bruce, the King said nothing. Sir Thor took notice.
“Your Majesty, your mind seems to be elsewhere.” He said. Steve looked around the table of knights and advisors.
“I agree with Banner.” He said. They began to protest, but he silenced them. “He is the best option we have if we want to save our people.”
“Right you are King Rogers.” Declared a new voice. He stood in the doorway, Loki, The Dark One. The Beast, the Trickster. Tony rose to his feet and drew his sword, thrusting the tip toward Loki’s chest.
Before the blade could even reach him, Stark was surrounded in what appeared to be a blue cloud that froze him in place. With a roll of his icy eyes he stepped out from in front of Stark’s frozen form and snapped his fingers. Tony was set back into motion and the follow through of his sword only struck the air where Loki had once stood. Confused, he looked around only to find Loki’s smirking figure completely unscathed. There was a brief moment where he thought about striking again, but he lowered his blade instead, keeping a watchful eye on the sorcerer. Seeing that Tony had - mostly - given up, Loki turned toward the King.
“I’ve seen your kingdom’s distress, your Highness.” The way he said the word ‘highness’ was not out of respect, it was a mocking tone. “ And I am indeed willing to help you.” Thor stood from his spot at the table to stand between the King and his brother.
“What would you plan on doing to help us? How would you defeat the dragon?” Thor questioned. Loki gave a lopsided smirk in reply.
“Lovely to see you too, brother.” He said, Thor scowled. “I see there are no time for pleasantries.” Thor frowned sadly. Y/N frowned too, she knew how upsetting it was for Thor to see his brother so absorbed in black magic. “My plan is simple. Very few things can pierce the hide of a dragon, magic is one of these things. It just so happens, that in my collection, I have an arrow.” Loki moved his hand in an upward motion and a flick of his wrist, in a puff of blue smoke an arrow appeared in his hand. “I’ve been told Sir Barton never misses a shot, if he aims for the head with this arrow the dragon will die.”
There was a small amount of awe from the council, even the King was intrigued. Thor was still frowning at his brother, he knew there was more to this bargain than any of the others knew. Though he had said nothing when Banner suggested the idea of asking Loki for help, Thor did not agree with him, for he knew that it would not come to a bargain that any of them would like.
“You’re help always comes with a price,” Thor began. “So what is it you want? You know our kingdom is poor, what could we possibly have that you would offer us this safety so willingly?” King Steven spoke from behind Thor.
“We are poor, but we could come up with a way of paying you back in small amounts on a timed schedule.” Steven suggested. “Or-”
“I don’t want money. I can get enough of that on my own.” Loki said.
“Than what do you want?” Asked the King. Loki’s eyes darkened as his smirk widened into a malicious grin and he gave a deep chuckle.
“Her.” It was a single, vague word, but he pointed at the prize he demanded. His cold gaze landed on her, Y/N Rogers. She shivered when she met his gaze. King Steven rose to his feet and Tony had his blade raised again.
“No! This is nonsense!” Steven shouted. “What could you possibly want my daughter for, and watch your tongue when answering this question.” Steven said threateningly, placing his hand on the sword hung and sheathed on his hip. Loki shrugged, as though innocent.
“Well you see, I had to dispose of my last servant a few months ago.” He said. “Unfortunately, I don’t have time to clean my home myself.” He said striding closer into the grand hall. “It could use what you call, a woman’s touch.”
“You will not have her.” declared Stark. Loki chuckled again.
“Well then this,” he waved the arrow in front of Tony. “Will just have to go back to my collection and you can all burn in a fiery rage from Hell.” Chaos erupted in the council again, they shouted and argued about what to do. Despite the words of many, King Steven refused to give in to Loki’s offer. While all this happened, Loki watched as Y/N sat quietly, with a thoughtful expression.
“STOP IT!” She shouted as she rose to her feet. The council fell silent and Loki grinned.
“The Lady does speak.” He mocked. She delivered a strong glare before she turned to a look of seriousness.
“If I choose to go with you, you will make sure my kingdom and my family survives?” She questioned. Tony stepped forward.
“Lady Y/N, you cannot-”
“I can do as I decide Sir Stark.” She said coldly, cutting him off. Loki sent a smirk in Tony’s direction. “Can you promise me these things, Dark One?” She returned her gaze to Loki.
“As long as Sir Barton hits the beast, I can guarantee safety from the dragon.” He said. “So what is your decision, Princess?” She frowned and turned to her father with doleful eyes. The King appeared to be near the edge of tears. She turned back to Loki again.
“I will go with you.” She declared and Loki’s smirk grew larger still. He placed a hand on her waist and pulled her closer to him. Out of surprise Lady Y/N’s hands landed on his chest, her face only centimeters from his.
“Then let us seal the deal.” He leaned in toward her, but she did not move. His lips met hers with slight harshness, she made no move to return his kiss but did not resist. As he pulled away from her he tossed the arrow to Sir Barton and in a puff of smoke everything around them disappeared.
They were no longer in the Castle of King Rogers, but instead were in a much darker grand hall in a new castle. Once they were there Y/N pushed herself away from Loki angrily. He gave her a rather dull expression, as though now that the deal was made he didn’t care about anything that happened.
“You didn’t even let me say goodbye!” She exclaimed. Her eyes glimmered with tears, but she held them back, refusing to cry in front of him. He rolled his eyes and strolled over to the table in the middle of the room.
“Goodbyes are tedious, Small One.” Loki said picking up a tray with an empty teapot on it. “You can start your duties as a servant by going and making a fresh pot of tea. You’ll find the kitchen at the bottom of the second stairwell down the hall.” he handed her the tray and she scowled, but followed his instructions nonetheless.
Lady Y/N found the kitchens with ease, and learned that the layout of the Dark One’s Castle was not much different from her own, except this place was much darker and dustier. Once she reached the kitchens she set the water to boil and lit the stove. She stood watching the water bubble while she thought about what was happening. Surely, she thought, I must be dreaming. After delivering a quick pinch to her arm, she realized she was in fact awake and she finally let a tear slip down her cheek.
Everyone is all for the Guardians meeting the Avengers and Tony and Cap mostly but you know who I want to see interact the most?
Thor and Mantis; Thor has a big heart, so can you just imagine Thor praising Mantis for her abilities and regaling her with wondrous tales of adventures and friendship? He tries to boast the slightest bit about great battles but soon realizes that upsets her, so he turns to funny stories of feasts and his friends and beautiful Asgard
so, what if Mantis reminds Thor of when he and Loki were small boys, innocent and full of life and love, and he begins to care for her like a sibling would; because her sweetness is pure, and she’s gentle and naive and he wont lose another to corruption
Loki sat on a discoloured uncomfortable chair in the hospital waiting room, silent and afraid. He hadn’t spoken for quite some time and Thor who was sitting next to him, was getting more and more concerned by the minute. Loki didn’t just feel sad, he felt numb. He felt helpless. He was so used to be able to do something to help. Now, all he could do was wait.
Thor put his hand on his brother’s shoulder hoping for some kind of reaction, even if it wasn’t a friendly one. He hadn’t moved, spoken, and had barely blinked for the past two hours of them waiting. He just wanted him to react to his contact and show some sign of movement, but he didn’t even stir. He simply stared at the floor, occasionally fidgeting with the skin of his cuticles which caused his fingers to bleed. Thor also felt helpless that he couldn’t do anything to help ease his brothers pain. That’s all anyone felt at this moment. Helplessness.
Loki approached the candlelit altar slowly as he held a handful of runestones and a bundle of flowers from the garden he cherished so much. A painting loomed over the altar. It was a painting of his mother, holding her hands and looking ahead with a soft smile on her face. He slowly knelt before it and set the flowers aside, placing the runestones next to each other on the open space of the altar.
The first rune was Tyr, meant for victory in battle, the guiding planet, and the warrior. After all, Frigga happened to guide him throughout most of his life and he always had felt thankful for the things she had taught him. She had died a warrior, but Loki always felt guilty. Guilty for letting that monster ever getting to her.
The second was Naudr, where it meant patience and acceptance, but it also meant death and need. Naudr meant a lot to Loki, knowing that he needed Frigga in her time of death and even before that. A bitter taste rose in his mouth as he remembered his childhood memories. Frigga’s patient demeanor when it came to teaching him magic or when his pranks had gone too far, her acceptance when Loki shakily told her of his attraction to women and men when he was into his late teens.
The third was Gyfu, meant for love, kindness, and aid. He always remembered her kindness and it always resonated within him. Of course it will, Frigga was someone he loved after all. But, Loki soon reversed the rune as soon as he placed it. With it being reversed, the rune meant separation. With her death, he had been separated from his mother, and that was something Loki always remembered.
The last was Ethel, meaningmotherhood and home. It explained itself, Frigga was Loki’s home. After everything she had done for him, Frigga was always his home and his mother.
Loki then took the flowers and placed them in the adorned vases that stood on the edges of the altar. He grit his teeth as he felt a tear run down his cheek. He shakily took a breath before breathing out and was ready to say what he wanted to say.
“Happy mother’s day,“ Loki said, his voice cracking as he said it, tears now flowing steadily. “I miss you and…I’m sorry.”
Imagine Loki is the Crown Prince of a small country in Europe. You are visiting the little Island nation of Asgard. The crown Prince sees you as you walk down the street and is immediately enamoured with your radiance. He wants to know you better and does everything in his power to meet you.

Cruel laughter filled the air, the teenaged children gathering around, jeering as Thor threw a carefully concocted mud ball at Loki, hitting him squarely in the face.
Loki stumbled, dropping his books. Looking up, he forced a smile, “Good one, Thor.”
“Thank you!” Thor beamed, offering his hand to Loki and helping his younger brother to his feet.
Loki slowly wiped away the mud, reaching for the tail of his cloak and using that, figuring he could wash the cloak later.
“I made sure there were no stones,” Thor’s grin widened.
“Yes, thank you for that.”
“C’mon Thor!” One of the teens called, “we’ll be late for the game.”
“And you’re not coming?” Thor turned back to Loki.
Loki shook his head, gesturing to the dirtied books and papers he had carefully picked up. “Lessons with mother.”
Thor pulled a disgusted face, “Have fun then.”
“And you, brother.”
Thor scampered after his friends, easily catching up and falling in stride with them as they continued to laugh.
Loki sighed heavily, watching them go. “I know you’re there.” He muttered softly.
You crawled out of the bushes that you had been hiding in. “That was sick and cruel.”
Loki shrugged, “It happens. The oaf has learned to watch for rocks though, mother was displeased when I showed up with a cut last time.”
You grimaced, stepping forward and stroking your hand along his face. Loki averted your gaze with his deep green eyes, the faintest traces of a blush forming on his face. Pulling at the kerchief cloth cover on your skirt, you lifted it up and wiped off the last remnants of the mud from his face.
“I wanted to step in, I’m sorry.”
Loki shook his head, pulling away from you and lightly batting your hand away. Though his smile stayed, he replied, “No, no, I understand.”
“They would throw me out of the gardens if they knew.”
“I care not that you’re a peasant, you are my friend, and I’m glad you manage to sneak in.”
You managed a rueful smile, “Still.” You reached for his hand, stroking your thumb gently along his.
“Perhaps tomorrow, after my lesson, I might visit you?”
“I would like that.” You bit your lip.
“What is it?”
“I wish Thor wouldn’t do that, he’s your brother. Brothers are supposed to protect each other.”
“He doesn’t realize…” Loki trailed off, looking away bitterly as tears stung at his eyes.
“That it hurts you?”
“It doesn’t hurt.” Loki snapped, turning back to you.
“Not physically, no. There are other hurts.”
“How are you so wise?”
“You’ve taught me a great deal.”
“Just magic mostly.”
“I have insight.”
“Do you now?”
“Watching and listening, seeing without being seen, you learn a great deal about others.”
“But never about one’s self?” Loki smirked.
“You ought to know, trickster.”
Laughing, Loki took both of your hands in his, “Oh, most definitely. Come, I’ll walk you to the gates, tomorrow, I promise we’ll spend time together.”
“Promise me you’ll tell Thor it upsets you, you shouldn’t have to deal with that from family.”
“Of course.” The lie came easily.
Loki winked, “You know me so well.”
As the two of you arrived at the gates, you stood on your tiptoes and pecked his cheek. “I care about you Loki, it upsets me to see you hurt.”
The warmth in his heart felt palpable as he smiled back at you, “Thank you, now get going before you’re caught.”
“I mean it,” you called over your shoulder, “I’ll fight for you if I have to.”
“You are small,” Loki chuckled, “but I appreciate the sentiment.”
“Not too small to defend my prince!” You retorted, smiling back at him.
“My honor shall never be questioned if you are there.”
“See you tomorrow!” Loki waved, a smile staying on his face that he just couldn’t find a way to make disappear. A new spring in his step, he turned and made his way to his mother, finally looking forward to his lessons.

As you hurried through the cobbled streets
of Asgard you stuffed a worn leather book into the inseam of your faded green
shawl. Flickering your E/C eyes around the crowded streets you searched for any
sign of the raven-haired prince, heading back towards the palace you kept your
eyes to the ground and your shawl wrapped tightly around your small frame. The
reason for your wariness may seem slightly melodramatic to an outsider, however
your master did carry a certain reputation, one for being highly strung and
easily provoked. This meant that keeping a secret from him carried it’s own set
of risks, and even though yours held no significant importance you worried that
his knowing of your actions could endanger both you and the ones you helped.
The thing was that everyday, at precisely
noon, you had ventured down to a local village, there you would help the local
children learn the basics of reading and writing, as well as telling them great
stories of your lands noble history. You had started this daily practice after
a trip down to the market, in search of goods for the palace, when you
overheard a conversation between a shopkeep and one of the locals. Apparently
the school building had been destroyed during the most recent bout of attacks,
leaving the children with no place to go, and cutting their education short. Of
course you being you felt a great sorrow at these children’s predicament and
vowed to do whatever you could to help.
Reaching the gates of the palace you were
quickly allowed in, rushing back to the small quarters you were granted to
deposit your things before returning back to work. Laying your shawl neatly on
the bed you turned to leave. But before you could exit the small room a green
swirl of smoke blocked your path, leaving in its wake your master. “Sir.” You
mumbled, bowing you head slightly. “I’ve already told you to call me Loki, are
the formalities really so necessary?” He quipped, quirking an eyebrow at you.
“Sorry sir… Loki.” You said with a small smile gracing your lips. Though the
man intimidated you like nothing else, you still saw a softer side of him, even
though many others didn’t. You could even say you’d developed certain
affections for the Trickster God, not that it was at all appropriate, what with
him being your master and a prince, and you a mere servant. Yet that didn’t
stop your heart from fluttering when he smiled at you, and a rosy blush
colouring your cheeks whenever he was in too close a proximity. “Where have you
been for the last… hour?” Loki asked you, a slight clench in his jaw.
“Nowhere…” You stuttered, fiddling with the hem of your dress. “I see… I’ve
never been to nowhere, is it as delightful as it sounds?” He drawled, looking
at you with an expression full of contempt. “Quite. “You mumbled, furrowing your
brow as you manoeuvred around him, heading back to work.
You and Loki had always had a weird
relationship, what with him taking a particular interest in your personal
affairs, and you not hesitating to call him out on some of his more neurotic
behaviours. Most said they’d never seen someone speak to the younger prince in
such a way, with most of his previous servants being dismissed after similar
fo-pars. After your run in with the dark-haired god you quickly went back to
work, cleaning the princes’ quarters as well as the dining hall. As you sat on
the large dining hall floor, using certain magic’s to clean the mud-covered
stone a pair of heavy footsteps caused your head to whip up to the doorway.
“Lady Y/N!” Thor’s booming voice rang out. “Thor!” You grinned, standing up to
greet him. “How was your trip to Midgard? How was Lady Jane?” You asked, a
smile wide on your face. “Everything was as I left it Lady Y/N.” He nodded. “I
told you to stop with the Lady’s Thor, for I am no Lady.” You said with a small
quirk in your lips. “Nonsense, you are far more a Lady than many of those who
carry such a title.” Thor boomed, bowing his head slightly. “I should go and
reconvene with my Father, It was a pleasure to hold your company.” Thor said,
kissing your hand before leaving the grand room.
You and Thor had met one afternoon whilst
out in the village. He’d found you teaching the children and after learning of
your service in the palace agreed to keep it between the two of you. In thanks
you had been assisting him with his courtship of his Lady Jane, helping him
choose gifts for her as well as teaching him of Midgardian customs. Through
this the two of you had struck up an unlikely friendship, one that had seemed
to stand the test of time.
The days following your interaction with
Loki, he asked everyday where you went during your hour away, causing you to
become more and more nervous about your little secret. You began to worry that
he would try and follow you, meaning you started taking more complicated routes
down to the village, hoping to lose anyone that may have been on your tail.
However it did mean you ended up walking straight through the busy market
almost everyday. After a couple of weeks Loki’s persistent asking you had still
managed to keep strong, telling him you went nowhere of importance. One day,
out of the blue, Loki arrived at your chambers before you parted for your
journey. “Loki.” You sighed, trying to manoeuvre your way around him. “Is it a lover
that you go to meet everyday?” He growls, appearing suddenly in front of your
face. His anger causing you to stand there in silence, not knowing how to
proceed. “It would make sense, you always return with a smile on your face and
it would explain your secretive attitude about the whole affair.” He spat. Huffing
you just moved your way around him and carried on down to the village.
‘Why would he care anyway?’ You asked
yourself, ‘I’m just the help, no one of importance.’ You huffed, strolling into
the busy market. “Lady Y/N!” Thor’s booming voice called you over from a nearby
seller. “Thor.” You smiled, moving to his side. “I need your assistance.” The
blonde prince huffed, brow furrowing, coaxing a giggle from between your lips.
“Come on then.” You smiled, grabbing his hand and pulling him along to different
3rd Person POV
Loki had decided to follow Y/N down away
from the palace. For some reason the thought that she could be meeting a suitor
tore at his chest, leaving an unsettling feeling in his stomach. Loki had never
felt this way about anyone before, never had a need to protect someone and keep
them safe from harm. Yet she was different. The way her H/C swirled around the
S/C skin of her face and neck, the way her E/C sparkled whenever she laughed or
smiled, the little things were what seemed to gravitate Loki towards her, and
he just couldn’t pull away. Following
her small frame through the crowded streets he watched her as she ducked and
dived through the rowdy crowd, barely registering a second notice to many of
the passer byes. Despite Loki’s glamour to look like an unimportant local, he
stayed hidden in the shadows, skulking along hot on her trail. Suddenly a
familiar voice calling Y/N’s name sent Loki’s eyes wide and caused his fists to
clench. Watching her stand by his brother’s side with such a gleeful look on
her face made Loki’s face contort with anger and as she took his hand he felt
his stomach drop. How come his brute of a brother got everything? The power,
the praise and now the girl. The only girl Loki had ever felt any sort of fondness
towards, the only girl Loki could see himself actually falling for. Hell he
probably already had. Turning his back on the pair Loki stormed back to the
palace in a blind rage, ready to take his anger out on anyone who dared
After helping Thor you had a queasy feeling
in the pit of your stomach that you just could not shake. You went and taught
the children as usual, cutting your session short due to your little rendezvous
with Thor. Heading back up to the golden palace you noticed the subtle glances
the guards gave one another as you entered. Heading to your quarters you
immediately noticed the lean form of Loki sat on your small bed. “Loki, what
are you doing in here?” You asked, slightly puzzled by his appearance. “So it’s
Thor then? That you go and see everyday? It’s my brother that you pine over
like a puppy, it’s pathetic.” He spat, leaning above you as his words sliced
you like a blade. Standing up to him you shoved him in the chest, causing him
to falter slightly. “I do not pine after any man, and not that it is any of
your business, but if I did it would certainly not be after Thor.” You growled,
face thunderous, “And I am certainly not pathetic, however it is nice to know
your opinion of me.” You said, jabbing him in the chest. As you whirled around,
ready to storm away from the dark-haired prince, a hand darted out, holding
onto to your elbow. Before you could even get another word out Loki had spun
you around, engulfing you in his arms. “You serve me, and no one else.” He
murmured before crashing his lips against yours. “Always.” You murmured against
his lips before wrapping your arms around his neck. “Jealousy is not a nice
colour on you.” You smirked, leaning your forehead against his. “You need to
learn to keep that pretty little mouth closed.” He chuckled, kissing you again,
this time with a more gentle touch.
Imagine Loki witness a person abandoning a pet, he pays little heed at first, humans, of course, are fickle creatures, but on hearing the human use words like “runt” and “worthless” something in him stirs. Looking into the box human has dumped the animal in, he realises it is a small black furball.
#NationalCatDay is trending, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite recent photos of my furrbaby, Loki. He’s small, skinny, and super pretty. Got legs for days. Built-in eyeliner and ankle socks. Will open all your drawers and eat your cheese. Loves sunny spots (especially if there’s a fleece blanket or pillow!), lizards, open windows, and jumping. Rocks the notched ear look. Not big on snuggling or belly rubs, but has brought a whole lot of smiles to my life in the past 3 years and 7 months (almost exactly!!). I don’t know what I’d do without him…
Or his fat loudmouth mother. But he’s so much more photogenic, I’ll just leave y'all with this.
Hey, I heard your requests are opened could you do one where Loki disappears for months on end (the first Avengers Assemble movie) and he returns to Asgard as a prsioner and the reader is his wife and is really pissed and goes to see him and angrily confronts him but then realising it wasn’t her Loki who did it.
That he wasn’t himself and that he was forced to do such horrible things. In the movie it looked as if Loki was tortured and manipulated so I’m going off that.
Angst and maybe a little fluff? ( madge-lvoe )
months, three hours and fifty five seconds without him. Without a word, a
goodbye note or even a quick notice from the guards. Loki disappeared as if he
was blown off the face of the earth. At first you thought it was one of his
tricks, that he would be back in the evening or the next day with a grin and you
would yell at him for the rest of the day for how worried he made you. That
night, the night he went missing, you went to bed already thinking of how you
will curse. When you woke up…he wasn’t there. He wasn’t there the day after
that. And after that. And after that. Two months, three hours and fifty nine
seconds without him.
