Requested“I can’t believe you didn’t even push him away.” Grayson gripped the steering wheel tightly, his biceps flexed, being strained by the tight sleeves of his white t-shirt.
“Grayson, Ethan only kissed me on the cheek! It’s not a big deal.” You crossed your arms in front of you, clearly annoyed.
“Not a big deal?” Grayson suddenly stomped on the brakes as he pulled over abruptly to the side of the road. “Get out.” He spoke deeply, unlocking the car doors. “If it’s not a big deal that you let my own drunk twin brother throw himself on you, it shouldn’t be a big deal that you have to walk home in the rain.” Grayson stared ahead, not making eye contact as you sat back in shock, watching the wiper blades collect the raindrops on the windshield.
“Grayson, I am not-” you started.
“I said, get out.” Grayson demanded, reaching over you to open your door for you.
“I can’t believe you.” You furiously unbuckled your seat belt as you shoved your phone in your pocket, pulling the hood of your jacket over your head as you stepped out onto the wet ground beneath you. You slammed the car door behind you without a word as Grayson spun the tires, speeding off onto the road. Your vision blurred as tears brimmed your eyes. The night sky was dark and full of dark clouds as you looked over in the sky, seeing a flash of lightning in the distance. Grayson left you to walk 15 minutes to your house in the piss pouring rain. Warm tears rolled down your cheeks. Your furiously wiped them with a wet hand. One thing you hated about being angry was that every time you reached a certain point, you would cry because you were so furious. It was one thing that you and your mother had in common.
“Come on.” You impatiently pressed the crosswalk button as you waited for the orange hand to turn into a person in the motion of walking. Raindrops that hit your hood drowned out the noise as you proceeded to cross the street after the sign changed. Just then, everything happened all at once. To be exact, the “everything” that had happened, was total and complete darkness.
“Look, I need to see her! She’s MY girlfriend!” You heard someone tell of anger as your head pounded. A couple nurses rushed into the room as Grayson caught your eyes from outside the door. He stood tall, his hair was disheveled, his eyes puffy from crying. He quickly jogged to your room and one of the nurses blocked the door from him coming in. You were being bombarded with a million questions but your brain couldn’t focus on one thing.
“Let him in.” You spoke weakly as you sat up slowly, your muscles weak and sore. Grayson’s eyes never left yours as he pulled a chair beside your bed, holding your cold hand tightly in his.
“Y/n, I-” Grayson began before tears started slipping from his eyes. “I’m so, so sorry.” He choked out as he kissed your hand softly. “I should have never kicked you out of the car and let you walk home. This is all my fault.” He rested his head on your hand as he cried softly.
“Gray, it’s not your fault.” You reassured him as he shook his head.
“I shouldn’t have let my anger out on you. I should trust you not to do anything with anyone.” He sniffled, wiping his tears with the backs of his hands. “I’m so sorry.” He apologized.
“Gray,” you weakly brought a hand up to his chin, making him look you in the eyes. “It was not your fault, anyone and anything can get hit by a car. Either way, we can’t go back and change what we did. What happened, happened. All we can do now is learn from this.” You croaked, your throat dry. Tears brimmed your eyes as you looked into Grayson’s swollen ones. Grayson nodded, kissing your hand once again.
“I love you so much, y/n, I thought I lost you.”
“I love you too, Gray. Don’t worry, okay? I’ll be home in no time.” You smiled weakly as you ran your hands through his hair.
“We’re actually going to keep y/n in overnight to make sure that the concussion doesn’t get bad. Other than that, you were very lucky.” The nurse looks at you, smiling weakly as well.
“Thank you.” You forced a smile back as she exited the room.
“Don’t worry, babe. I’ll spend the night with you, okay?” Grayson reassured.
“Gray, go home to your bed.” You ushered him.
“No, I’ll sleep on this chair if I have to.” Grayson protested, pointing to the wooden chair beneath him. You sighed as you pulled the railing up on your left side as you scooted over to the railing the best you could. You patted the spot next to you as Grayson quickly took his wet jacket and boots off, lightly sliding into the hospital bed beside you. You rested your head on his warm shoulder as he brought one arm around you and one to bring the other railing up to hold you both in the small bed. You breathed in Grayson’s soft cologne as he lied the bed flat with a remote. You brought your head over his chest as you listened to his heart beat softly as he rubbed your back.
“I love you so much.” He whispered into the top of your head before planting a kiss to your forehead.
“I love you too, Gray.” You smiled up at him as you shared a small kiss before returning to your previous position. Throughout the whole night, Grayson and the nurses made sure to wake you every half hour to make sure that you were okay. You both spent that night at the hospital in each other’s arms.
This playlist is just songs that reminded me of Rhysand and his journey through ACOMAF and some songs I think he could relate to. They’re either fun and silly stuff that he’d listen to if he’d get drunk with the bros or something or dark sad ones he’d listen to when he’d miss Feyre or before when she’d been betrothed to Tamlin. Hope you enjoy!
I think this is a song Rhys would listen to whenever he was feeling sad. Not sad about Feyre specifically, but more sad just in general or if he just couldn’t stop thinking about Under the Mountain. I could see him just waking up in the middle of the night (in the three months before he called upon the bargain)
This song… This song just hits me right in the feels. It’s bloody perfect for Rhys. Seriously. Just so much emotion and the lyrics are so relatable and it’s just so perfect. Especially when he admits that he just wants Feyre to be happy… This is the song for that (of course, if the lyrics were changed genders and stuff). The live or original versions are both amazing.
Stone cold Baby God knows I try to feel Happy for you Know that I am Even if I can’t understand I’ll take the pain Give me the truth Me and my heart We’ll make it through If happy is her him I’m happy for you
“I heard you were going to marry him, and I told myself you were happy. I should let you be happy, even if it killed me. Even if you were my mate, you’d earned that happiness.”
Rhys would have this on loop, definitely. He’d even like know all the lyrics and sing it to himself with some hard liquor by himself, staring up at the stars and tears just silently streaming down his face. He’d worship and adore this song. Another feels crusher.
Misplaced trust in old friends Tamlin Never counting regrets By the grace of God I do not rest at all And New England as the leaves change The last excuse that I’ll claim I was a boy who loved a woman like a little girl And still I can’t let you be Most nights I hardly sleep Don’t take what you don’t need from me It’s just a drop in the ocean A change in the weather I was praying that you and me might end up together It’s like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert But I’m holding you closer than most ‘cause you are my… Heaven doesn’t seem far away anymore No, no Heaven doesn’t seem far away
This is a good carefree song that I could see Rhys and Feyre dancing to, and Rhys secretly enjoying it so much because it reminds him of when he was kneeling before putting those thigh strap thingies on and he told her that she was his salvation and Feyre and Rhys dancing is literally the cutest most swoon worthy thing in my mind. Like seriously, I can’t even think about it without screeching.
You’ll be my resolution Characters of no illusion You’ll be my resolution
Turn around, put it down and see That this is really the place to be I’m not you, nor you me But we’re both moving steady
This song is just so smooth and relaxing yet still powerful and relatable simultaneously. Rhys would like, I don’t know, listen and stare out the window thinking about how much he misses Feyre. I’ts just amazing and seafret is soooog good you should check out their other stuff!
I want you Yeah I want you And nothing comes close To the way that I need you I wish I can feel your skin And I want you From somewhere within
It feels like there’s oceans Between me and you once again We hide our emotions Under the surface and tryin’ to pretend
Rhys would especially love this song because of all the references to the night! It’s truly such an amazing song (especially live! I saw her in concert like two weeks ago) and he’d really just adore it and think of Feyre. I also think that Feyre would also love this song because she would relate to it so much.
A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes I screamed aloud, as it tore through them, and now it’s left me blind The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out You left me in the dark No dawn, no day, I’m always in this twilight In the shadow of your heart And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat I tried to find the sound But then it stopped, and I was in the darkness, So darkness I became
“When you spend so long trapped in the darkness, [Lucien,] you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
