Thomas is an unwanted child when the fairy gentleman offers him a home in a castle and a bed and food on his plate, and so little Thomas who never tells a lie follows him to fairyland. Thomas does not waste his time in the enchanted castle, he enchants it and bends it to his will. He learns magic, all the magic he can get his hands on, all the magic he is allowed and much that he isn’t. Nothing stops little True Thomas, not rules and not morals. He is going to survive. He is never going to be helpless and unwanted again.
At the end of seven years, Tom Riddle emerges from the castle. He does not tell lies, he has no need.
